being a "brony" doesn't shock anyone anymore, the vilification is long-past.
They also weren't around to see the conflicts and triumphs of the old guard.
They see screencaps of Lauren's visit, but don't understand the feeling or significance of the date.
They know that nor/mlp/eople throw parties at conventions but they don't know how much struggle went in to getting them organized
They hear that "Tripfags are cancer" but don't know how to triforce.

They're just the new tenants of an empty, eroding castle. There are no knights here, just an occasional specter in a suit of rusty armor.

I came to the fandom in June 2011, right at the apex of the gates opening to the Golden Age.

I was there for the old Equestria Girls Katy Perry parody commercial, the New Lunar Republic vs Solar Empire conflict. The old musicians who got their start in the fandom. When love & tolerance applied to the full. I was there when EQD posted that interview with Faust when she created her OC.
The Return of Harmony was my first episode. The second part being on my birthday. I woke up every single morning to see the Season two episode right when they aired and talked about the whole day afterward.

I miss the sense of Unity we had among us back then. Came crashing down when the Golden Age ended. Right at the end of 2012 there.

I regret having to see the fall of the fandom in the Alicorn Wars. Princess Twilight and EQG appearing just months after each other. We're pretty much a third of the size since then. Slowly fading into the dust.
I didn't even see any of season 5 until the finale had aired. Alternate timelines really caught my attention.

But what I see now is hope. For the future. The movie is coming out, we may get a spinoff despite how much of this board may not like it, and this season may be way better than six.

A huge movie may be just what we need to survive the years coming, tonnes of new members we can slowly assimilate.

Long live Pony, long live those who made it possible, and long live /mlp/.

There were multiple points were things went bad; Faust leaving, Renzetti leaving, SA, Cadence, but they weren't the point of no return.

MMC on the other hand, it wasn't just what happened, it was that Hasbro refused to admit that mistake, and doubled down on it. Now everything since then-Crystal Castle, Flurry heart, etc.-they're almost all traced back to that in some way shape or form.
