I see her as someone who's made a lot of bad decisions, and wants to right what she's done, but she can't stop controlling people and demanding excellence from them. She made Our Town because she thought Equestria was not perfect enough, not efficient enough, Equestria was too free, free enough to leave her behind and forget her. Trixie and her meld so well because they both have problems with perfection, Trixie wants to be perfect and everyone to see her as such, while Glimmer wants everyone to be perfect, or at least perfect in her eyes, and both see everyone as too stupid to see what is wrong. Glimmer has to learn that no one can be perfect, and that people need time to learn and do what they have to do.
