Anon, if (You) suddenly done a real magic, you would've looked even more stupid. That's how real world people work. No reason for magic horses to be different.

Trixie never was too bright and she alway was a cunt. Both in a good way, though. The episode didn't do a thing to her character - it only properly displayed the fact of anger being recursive.
>>
>>29873957
Seriously, I'm not trying to be ironic here, do you really think that "Trixie is literally a cunt in every episode" is a good rebuttal? I mean, seriously. Just think about it for a second, you ask people who didn't like the episode elaborate why, and your reply is that line? At least try to find an equivalent of Trixie being so much of a cunt in a recent episode like TWaBA. Screaming "I'm right, you're not" is not discussion.
>>
>>29874050
it was cute as fuck. trixie has always been full of herself for doing almost nothing. i bet she knows deep down that shes a failure which is why she tries so hard to put on a show. when she actually achieved something and got super excited it was cute as fuck.

>Trixie being completely oblivious to Starlight's troubles
>acting like a major bitch, like Discord when he tries to fuck with ponies

No, it was just poorly written. They cranked the narcissism up to 11 to compensate for not being able to give her any sense of self awareness. She could have easily been a smug cunt absorbed in her own greatness without just being "hmmmmm i dunno lol" the whole episode. Similar to how if Rainbow Dash or Rarity gets written are a massive cunt, people call that shit out, and only shitposters think it's just their character to be that way.
>>
>>29874279
starlight never told her anything was bothering her. shes the one who spends the most time with the m6 so if she didnt say anything was wrong why would trixie think that? when youre introduced to your friends friends you generally get an idea of whats acceptable by how your own friend reacts to your actions.

This last episodes (everything since season 6) have been so bad that I no longer find horse porn attractive.
>>
>>29874279
Some self-centered people really do need to be explicitely told that something is bothering you in them. They may notice that you're bothered by something, but often won't instantly connect that to their own behaviour.

Best friend of mine is a bit like that, and I'm rather on the introverted side of the spectrum. It took me some time to adjust. Starlight's situation was pretty relatable to me, even if Trixie's behavior has been a bit exaggerated (which isn't anything uncommon to this show, really).
>>
>>29874527
Besides the obvious visible stress and the angry growls, it was easily possible for Trixie to have noticed something was wrong. And she could have done it while still acting like a cunt during the episode. It's just bad characterization. The way they played up her attitude made her seem like a complete retard and it put people off. They made her really one-dimensional this episode when they really didn't have to
>>
>>29874634
Arrogance is Trixie's character, not being a cunt.

Anon, her arrogance is nothing else but egoism and egocentrism. Most of the time those qualities are described as "being a cunt". She wasn't making Starling mad intentionally if that's what you're trying to get at, she was just being herself - completely oblivious to everything not immediately concerning her unless she's explicitly told so.

Hell, Starlight got it and literally spelled it out. You still can't get it. It's like Newbie Dash all over again, when people can't comprehend the message a little girls show is sending.

They never did, anon. People always ignored the messages in the show, because most of them were incredibly simple and obvious on the level of common sense. However, now there are more complex messages being sent and there are actual people here who should listen to them, but they don't because the idea of the show actually teaching them something new is unacceptable.

Like - again with the Newbie Dash example - you can't know how do military/sports collective behave if you've never ever in your life been in one. But when the show presents it to you quite accurately - instead of accepting the message and learning the lesson you dismiss it as incorrect because it doesn't go as you think it should despite you having nothing but your fantasies filling your thought process.

Yeah, you can say that "if you cant relate to x then you wont get it/like it :^)" but when little girls (your ""target audience"") or people who aren't a part of that life aren't going to understand and may flat out dislike the way you explain something, perhaps a re-evaluation of the approach used needs to be had.

We aren't talking about liking or hating the episode. We are talking about the critique being based on objectively false statements, anon. You can hate the episode all you want - that's your business. But the statement of Trixie being out of character is a completely false one.
Personal preferences are one thing. Objective facts are another.
"I don't like when they show Trixie like that" is an adequate statement.
"I hate that they made Trixie go OOC" is not an adequate statement because it's false.
>>

>We are talking about the critique being based on objectively false statements, anon.

Anon, that's exactly the kind of mentality I am addressing and you look pretty pathetic trying to put these words into my mouth. It was explained - not only by me - why exactly weren't Trixie OOC in the episode, neither of these explanations was a case of "if I say so". You can play with words and memes however long you want - if you don't have actual arguments you can't prove your point. And it would be a pretty fucking hard to prove your point when it contradicts the actual facts from the actual show.
>>
>>29875524
Except I never said "stop liking the episode!"
I have never tried to convince anyone to stop liking what I don't like. I have never said "if you like it, you're wrong". But you have. The whole conversation was

(You) seem to have problems with reading comprehension, so I've left the part that distracts (You).
>>
>>29875682
Let me get this straight. You assumed that I'm too stupid to understand the show because I completely disagree with (You)r interpretation of Trixie's character. You think that I'm too stupid to even understand your "if I say it, it's a fact". And yet, you're still trying to convince me?
>>
I like bread.
>>
>>29875766
>And yet, you're still trying to convince me?
I am not trying to convince you, anon. I am just pointing out your bullshit. And however much you wish we were in a similar "it's just your interpretation" situation - that isn't true either - you've provided literally zero arguments supporting your point. Your opinion doesn't deserve to be respected or accounted for. You just want to bitch about stuff - not to have a discussion. And even the "you assumed" part misses the point because I've openly stated: "Hell, Starlight got it and literally spelled it out". I do think you are far from being bright, but I do genuinely believe you aren't simultaneously deaf and illiterate to miss that. What I meant was explained in the following replies so I won't be repeating it again.

>I am just pointing out your bullshit.
For whom? I don't give a fuck about your opinion about the characters' characterization. Just because you think "this is what I think, it must be right" doesn't mean that I have to believe you.
>you've provided literally zero arguments supporting your point
But I did. My point wasn't "Trixie was OOC", my point was "I didn't like the episode." You said "why?", I replied "because Trixie was OOC." I don't have to explain shit, I don't have to write a fucking thesis. You said "if you don't like the episode, explain it", and I did it, and just because you NEED to feel that you're right and anyone who disagrees with you is wrong isn't reason enough for me to change my mind.
>I won't be repeating it again.
HA.

If it wasnt for Celestia and Trixie the eps would be boring
again, the mary sues of Twilight and Glimmer cannot be less enjoyable, but other ponied do their job and keep the show quite good

>For whom?
For you to be aware that people know you're spilling bullshit.
>You said "why?
This: >>29874634 is the first post I made. I don't give the slightest fuck what was prior to that. I can list you all of my posts and you won't find anything related to the episode being good or bad, meaning all of the following replies were addressing the "OOC" statement and only that. Moving the goalpost after starting the argument is pathetic, anon.
>I don't have to explain shit, I don't have to write a fucking thesis.
And I don't have to hold a grain of respect to you, who pretends he wants a discussion but not really. That's a consensus of sorts.

Dawww, you're so kind, Anon. Just to let you know in return, your opinions are not facts.

It's realism, Dersh.

>your opinions are not facts
(You) like to repeat (You)rself, as I can see, but that won't change the fact you've got nothing behind these words.
I'll be going to sleep - you can get your last word.

Can it be cherrychanga?

>I'm not writing everything I didn't like in the episodes only to get a "no, they were great :D" as a reply.
I stand corrected, there wasn't any "no, they were great :D" today. But the "ur to stupid too understand mlp" was even better, and I didn't see it coming. GG, great to confirm that it's impossible to have show discussion without resorting to ad hominem.
