It's a neutral purple colour instead of a bright pink. I'd like to think this means an attempt at broadening the brand to appeal to more than just little girls because pink is a huge turnoff for anyone not in the target demographic.

Along with the storytelling, G4 logo design actually was pretty gender neutral from the beginning to be quite honest.
