Here's something:
The author of a green uploads 5 posts to the thread. After that the readers should write at least 3 things that they like and 3 things they didn't liked. So at least 3 anons (one bad, one good thing each one) are forced to write some feedback to get more content. I'm open for more suggestions. We also used polls in the early days.

As much as I want a more lively thread, forcing anons to meet a post quota feels cheap. It wouldn't be people wanting to talk, it'd be people posting for posting's sake. On top of that, you can't really enforce it. It's on the people in the thread to make it more than the dead husk it has been lately. And with this notion that "silence is a compliment", it feels hard to see that change happen.

A few of these writefags have been posting their bins over on ptfg as a trial run. Looks well received too. Good to see the beginnings of a merger we so desperately needed and wanted. Thanks readers of the dtfg, your silence has been more convincing than our appeals could ever have been. And thank you writefags for taking a leap of faith and posting over on the ptfg. Something that I've noticed here from the anon who keeps asking for green is that he doesn't know where he is.
See at the moment, people are considering to migrate from the lack of feedback, one of the most important things for any content creator to receive. In the event that we stop writing or we move to a different thread, the green stops. Funny thing about contracts and all those deals is that it's a two way street. If you don't give anything to us, then what do we owe you? You're in no place to make these demands for us to stay or write as there's little to no skin off our bones. Of course, I'm not speaking for every writer here as most to all of us want to stay out of the fact that it's fun to write. But I'd like for you to keep that in mind the next time you plan to raise that point.

The problem with a Pon-E story with Dragons on Earth is that it isn't very MLP related. Ponies are inherently MLP since they're, you know, ponies. But Dragons are from classical mythology first and foremost. There's plenty of fiction about Dragons in a modern setting. Maybe you can fix that by having other people become ponies at the same time? Maybe Anon and his friends get their hands on some cheap Pon-E, and everyone turns into horses except him? He just so happens to get the proverbial short end of the stick and become a lizard while everyone else got what they expected.

Now we express the desire to leave for a better thread that shows us the possibility of getting feedback? "NOOO!" "REEE!" We feel like we can't fucking win here.

Also - "bump" doesn't count as thread contribution. You don't have to be a professional critic to express your interest in a story. Writers appreciate something as simple as "enjoying this," or "keep it up man, nice work." In equal respects, if you have issues or suggestions, express those as well. Tonic's head clashes with the rest of the picture. It looks like it's at about 90° or more relative to the body. I'm no expert on dragon anatomy, but I'm pretty sure neck doesn't work that way.
Then the spines on the tail, the look bigger than they should be, considering the perspective.
The "busy face" thing will clear up somewhat once you finish coloring it, since timberwolves' eyes are vibrant green, if memory serves me well, so they will stand out just fine.
The jaw, on the other hand, needs either more resting space for the eyes, or careful coloring to separate the "teeth" into groups to be easier on the eyes.
The wolf's tail "feels" like it's not where it should be. Probably because of all the empty space above it.
Also wolf's left foreleg looks like two halves of a log glued together. I'd suggest adding another piece to make the "joint" section more obvious, and add a some space between the forearm and the upper arm so they don't look like a single piece.
And while I'm at it, it wouldn't hurt to add more detail to wolf's "coat". Bright spots are all well and good, but it seems a bit underwhelming, don't you think?

Honestly, I've felt fine. I don't claim to know what depression is like, but have had a couple friends who suffered from it. I mostly approached Gold Standard's more somber notes with more of a mentality of making Khoa have a clear issue that can't just be solved. There's a clear path to finding some McGuffin plot device, but dealing with personal demons isn't nearly as cut and dry.

Out of the three writers you mentioned, Kolaghan and Mage turned out the best results.

I'm unhappy with how Dazed was going, which is why I stopped writing it. I deleted about 5 or 6 parts that I never got around to posting as I wasn't happy with the direction it was going. Basically, the thing about the merge is that this thread is all about the dragons. In /ptfg/, however, they will at best be a side gig, at worst - a sore thumb sticking out among the pony transformation greens.
They had all the time in the world to change to "Transformation General", but they didn't. And, shitposting aside, there ARE people who'd like to keep /ptfg/ if not pony-only, then at least mostly-pony, that may or may not include bullying writers into writing more "related" stuff.

I still stand by my opinion, and some would call it it's own brand of shitposting which is fair enough, that /ptfg/ shitposters contributed to the thread's decline.
They may not cause the fatal damage, but little by little they poisoned this place. Not that it excuses any of us going apeshit, but we had a good reason for it at the time, or so we thought anyway.
I insist on this particular conspiracy theory simply because I saw it before, and it's more likely than one would initially think.

Nah, it was a minor hitch, especially compared to what we faced recently, but it wasn't that bad. More like an identity crisis, whether or not should we continue making threads or just let it slide off the board, not with a bang but a whimper, and migrate to /ptfg/. We thank goodness elected to trudge on and have been going fine until very recently.

/ptfg/ has always been broader than just ponies. Their OP has made that explicit for a few years. Nothing wrong with having a specialist dragon TF thread of course. There's still a decent amount of content for it. I don't think there's some kind of mighty need for the threads to merge, but if the writers want to leave then let them. That's capitalism, baby. The writefags are paid in attention, and if they feel that they get more elsewhere, then they're free to leave. Like a baseball team moving to a different city to get a more lucrative deal on a stadium or something. Their departure with create a gap in the thread. That gap will either cause the thread to collapse inwards, or give new writers a chance to squeeze into it and establish themselves in the green vacuum.

If the Discord didn't exist, you wouldn't see much a massive spike in relevant conversation here. The Discord, as we've said many times, is for off topic conversation and spoiler talk mostly. I personally wouldn't put either of those on the thread, and I think most of us feel the same. The Discord doesn't take away from conversation here purely because I dont think this thread should be filled with "there's some crazy dude outside my window" or YouTube videos. Most on topic stuff was kept to the thread and simply was not replied to. I can only think of a couple times where something in the discord could have gone on the thread and didn't, and usually that was direct questions somebody had for someone else- and in the Discord it's easier to ask a question like that. Even then it's few and far between.

Besides, if we hypothetically were keeping all of our on topic conversation on the Discord. Would moving it to the thread do anything but cause the illusion that the readers are lively? It wouldn't change the fact that this thread has very little readers wanting to say something. Saying the Discord causes silence here is just a way to push blame off of you by saying "Oh! We actually get feedback over on /ptfg/, and Mage is proof that some of us could survive over there. Don't try to stretch things, because it will show no matter what and it won't be pretty. Trust me on that one.
And also don't overcomplicate or oversimplify descriptions and the writing itself.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree that stretching out things is bad, but I don't want to rush anything. I tried to get most of this slow, more closed off stuff out in this initial post so I can get right into the goods. I will keep in mind pacing because sometimes a slow burn isn't the best burn, and I don't want things to drag.
