The majority used to be great, funny, creative as fuck, and despite being thought of as the most autistic board we self moderated so well even moot acknowledged us.

Now I see the majority here as whiny, spoiled children, crying in front of a huge pile of building blocks. Instead of making something amazing themselves, they're upset that it's not already built for them by someone else.

I like the board because it is a place fosters spontaneous creativity and sometimes interesting discussion.
I like the posters because each is their own unique person behind the anonymity, and I enjoy learning things about people and how we think.
I like the show because it provides interesting characters in a modified (to be cuter and more innocent) high-fantasy setting.

If this board was a flavor it would be that weird flavor of your hoodie string after you had a coke slurpee and you've chewed it but then chewed some gum and now it's kind of stiff and a little sweet, but still kinda gross and weird because it's your mouth flavor and whatever the hell is on the inside of a hoodie string and maybe some crisp autumn air. There is hardly anything good about this board anymore. It has been flooded with normalfags and EQDunces since 4chan has gained popularity. If you look at /mlp/, its just like every other "brony" website out there, except with the occasional horsefucking meme here and there. We have people who don't fap to the porn, make OCs, ship characters, like to be """progressive""", like EQG, like anthro, like literally everything in the show, hate everything in the show, and like to express themselves as a "brony" in public. I remember when this board was against this shit but now it seems we've taken a turn for the worst.

It some cases it's true, anthro also attracts furries who were into that kind of thing even before finding MLP and jumped on the trend without actually committing. But I still think that treating fapping to pony porn like some kind of free entry ticket is a bit too much. Unlike shitposting, unconditionally liking/disliking the show, EQG falseflagging, posting anthro and OCs and trying hard to create safe space, people who don't fap to porn are the least of the problems. I mean it's an individual choice that doesn't factor into quality of posts, you have no way of knowing if the poster does fap to porn or not and there's no measuring how does that affect their posts, we can only take it at a face value. Something like blatant shitposting is objectively bad for the board no matter if the guy who does it fap to porn or not. There are also people who love the show for its innocence and just like cute ponies for what they are, I don't think that's bad.
I personally did fap a lot but I burnt out on it. It got to a point when I got so picky I couldn't stomach 90% of the porn. For example anything not anatomically accurate is an instant turnoff for me. So these preferences also factor into it, since NSFW material is really diverse in quality, some almost bordering anthro in more aspects than one.

I like contributing to the EQG nude edit thread because I literally have never felt more appreciated than when I make a good edit that people can enjoy. And I've been drawing for years so they're not hard, I just wish I had more time for them.

Given GR15, all the pony has to be here. So as long as it's work safe anything goes. Gives the place a nice potential for variety. Any positive thing that happens for us seems to get years from other boards too for some reason. That can be fun at times when things like 4cc go on.

I know that Anons are a lot more pessimistic nowadays, but there's still a bunch that like the content when it comes out. I like that /mlp/ can speak its mind about the show and never be met without some type of opposing view. Keeps the place from being too circlejerky. Above all though, Anons here really love their favorite pony. The best content from here comes when Anons really let their autistic love for pony flow, and that happens pretty often.

There's been lots of controversial stuff in it that Anons have good reason for disliking, but to me the show is still genuine, cute, and filled with good characters. They're mishandled at times for sure, but I still like them. I think there's still plenty to explore in the world and for the characters if the writers would go out and make episodes about them.

/mlp/ is an interesting mix of every other board on the site. Devoting a board to a single show and fandom resulted in an incredibly nebulous community hailing from all across 4chan. We have /co/mrades and /b/tards, /v/irgins and /x/-philes, /d/eviants and /pol/acks, fa/tg/uys and /g/entoomen, all coming together in a single place, united by a common interest in the show.

From the beginning, we decided our own board culture, almost nothing was off limits as long as a pony was attached, and this board ran with almost no moderation. /mlp/ was a perfect storm of horsefuckery, analysis, autism, and good old-fashioned getting shit done.

In addition, /mlp/ has always been at odds with the fandom. Where other sites thought the show could do no wrong, /mlp/ actively criticized its flaws and the bullshit that surrounded it.

Things aren't as great nowadays, with the show making people angry, and the fandom quieting down, but the culture is still pretty much here. We love the show, we criticize the show, we want to fuck colorful equines and we're autists who have fun together.

Still the only place I think has any credibility when it comes to analyzing the show. You can usually find decent discussion hidden in a shitpost thread. I also love how we can be total autists without hating ourselves too much.
