It's the other way around. Everything post season 3, post Magical Mystery Cure, other than the EqG movies, isn't canon. Hasbro DID intend to end the show back then, but kept it up for the bux from autists, but it's no longer the official timeline, it's a fanfiction by Miller and Haber. The canon timeline is EqG. Notice how Hasbro tightly controls what can be shown on the movies, but let the writers do whatever they want on the show. It's because it doesn't matter anymore, it's not canon.
