Here's my personal chart to start us off. I came into the series thinking I would just tell my opinions to my friend that was into Lauren Faust due to Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. But I got hooked, and was a little eager for season 2, and the summer from S2 to S3 was an insane era, and I was a frothing fan as S3 started. But S3 disappointed me a bit, and the original Equestrai Girls right after didn't help. S4 was alright though, and Rainbow ROcks was pretty sweet, and then S5 was fucking great! But for whatever reaosn, as S6 hit, I started to feel a bit burnt out on the show and took my first genuine break from it since it's premiere. For whatever reason though, I started catching up in late 2016, and my fervor for MLP leapt back up to levels it hadn't reached in years! Since S6 concluded, I've just been catching up on chapter books and re-watching old eps, and realizing old seasons I hated weren't nearly as bad as I thought they were. I've said this in other threads, but overall, they're pretty good. I've only read half of the earlier mane 6 ones, and they were mediocre. But the princess collection was excellent, and I wish each book of it could have been an episode. The books following it (the Lyra and Bonbon one, Starlight, and the Trixie one) weren't quite as superb as the princess collection, but they were still enjoyable. It's left me quite excited for the G.M. Berrow eps for S7. I've also read a few Perditta Finn books, and I recommend avoiding them. They're written very simply and clearly for a younger demographic. I think this fits for me. Nothing quite beats the fervor when you first get into the show and fandom, but season 5 was pretty close. The shitposting started getting to me with season 6, but thankfully I bounced back pretty quickly. Right now I'm in my usual pre season sizzle before we finally get new content.

Pretty much where I am with those too, but I liked Twilight's EqG sleepover book and the main 6 books minus Twilight and Rainbow's. Daring Do collection is pretty nice too, but if I had to pick favorites then I'd say Twilight's princess book and Starlight's would be first and second respectively. Seeing as that one preschool book doesn't count, I'd like to see Spike get a book after Berrow is done with her movie books.

I started in 2013. It was just another cartoon for me until Winter Wrap Up, which made me love it. The Cutie Mark Chronicles was absolutely amazing, and my hype went through the roof. It slowly calmed until the Smile Song, which was another high for me. Again a slow cool-down until Sleepless in Ponyville, another of my all-time favorites. Wonderbolts Academy was great too, but the rest of the season was kinda lackluster, and it took me a while to return to my usual "I love it" during season 4. Season 5 kept on the trend of season 4, special mention to CotLM, which set my hype to maximum levels. I started season 6 with the highest hype I have ever had, and it was a complete disappointment. The first episodes were so boring, and they killed the mood for me. Then Newbie Dash was absolutely terrible. TSRR was a little respite, but shortly after that there were even more awful episodes. 28 Pranks Later pretty much killed the show for me. But finally Top Bolt gave me a little hope back.

I don't think Spike is ever going to get a book. Character focused books are done and they seem to be doing these random stories with the CMC now. They got delayed though.

My expectations are so fucking low for season 7 that S07E01 could be real stock footage of a horse taking a shit for 22 minutes and I would still be like "Eh, coulda been worse I guess"

Started in late 2011, binged the first season, got hype. Season 2 was great, but my hype started to die a bit due to some weak episodes late in the season. Hype took a hit with 'Out of Place Alicorn and Random Brother From Nowhere 2: Electric Boogaloo - This Time There's No Villain' Faith rose with the early half of Season 3, took a dive at Wonderbolt academy. Rest of the season was pretty much one big build up of dread until Twilight was Alicorn'd. MMC and EqG's confirmation bodied my hype for a long time. Came to terms with the fact that the Wings wouldn't change Twilight Probably would have been better if they did, desu. Hope recovered a bit with how bland Season 4 was; better to have tasteless stew than rancid shit. Hype on life support after Treebary got replaced by BUY OUR TOYS. Season 5 OP Two-Parter restored faith, EXPLORE MANEHATTAN killed it. Season 6 was trash with some gems hidden in it's lineup.

Hype for S7 is pretty much kill.

I got on the ride just before season 3 started. Seasons 2 and 5 are my favorite, but my autism and love for the fandom has reached irredeemable levels since season 5 started.
