For some reason Emerald remembers the second Joyride wandering around, and asks his Joyride if the compass can be used to find the second.

"Nah. Those compasses lock on to one person only. I would need some trace or essence of her to make a compass. Even if she technically is me, she's a version of me from another dimension, and that's enough of a difference for the compass to not work." The unicorn says with a nod.

Emerald asks if the cottage has always been there, if they built it.

"Sunshine and I bought the land a while ago, and the cottage was already here. The way it looks now actually looks a lot like it did back then, heh..." Joyride says, looking at the house, "We fixed it up and gave it a few enchantments to make maintenance easier. Clearly the spells dropped though."

The two stare at the half-collapsed cottage for a moment, and then Emerald suddenly remembers his tarot card deck. He pulls it out and asks her to draw a card. A little bemused, Joyride pulls one out revealing the Devil card.

"Devil? If you mean a demon in the sack, then I suppose that's true." The unicorn says laughing.

Emerald decides it's best to tell Joyride about the vision the gem showed him. The one with Larimar.

Emerald follows Joyride as they walk over the debris and to one of the doors that Emerald did not go through. It leads to a basement that is in a similar shape to the rest of the house, and from there Joyride reaches a wall and touches her horn to it. The wall's panels pull apart and reveal a small room with a glowing rod sticking in the middle of it.

The pair approach the Etheric Beacon, and asks if she has any other thoughts about the gem, to which she doesn't respond.

"Come on, let's head home."

As she approaches the beacon Emerald asks if the memory machine is able to retrieve memories at all.

"Nope. It's not hard to draw out memories for storage, but you need them beforehand." Joyride says with a shrug.

Emerald finds himself in the blinding white light again, but this one is far more comfortable. When the light clears they are back in the #304 Coursewalk beacon room.

Emearld asks if Stargazer was the one who destroyed Trotton, the town east of Whitherwater.

"I suppose it's possible, but incredibly unlikely. In fact, I think we'll find a true succubus there." Joyride says with a grin, walking towards the front door.

Emerald finds this quite shocking, and asks why they haven't went and got a succubus hair yet, or why they havent' told anyone there is a succubus there.

Emerald decides to take a day to just practice and read up. Ruby takes the opportunity to sleep in more, but as the day progresses she gets up and reads a bit. She also gets a book from the library describing knife skills, and begins to swing around her weapon near him.

Emerald for his part decides to practice up on the spell that Sensoria taught him. He goes outside, and standing between some fences puts on a gasmask and casts billow clouds of smoke. Using that, he casts his Arcane Sight and begins to walk around. The smoke of course keeps getting blown away, but that just means he can recast it. Thus he is practicing two different spells at the same time!

He stops after an hour or two, and seeing Ruby walks over to her.

As he approaches he sees her stop and turn towards him.

"Nice mask. Weren't you doing that smoke thing? I thought it didn't effect you." Ruby says, sheathing her dagger.

Emerald thinks back on it, and remembers when he was in the Zebralands the smoke did indeed not effect him.

He removes the mask.

Emerald decides to head over to Olam's.

He tells Ruby where he is going and gets the address, and makes sure to give her a boop goodbye, and before she can retaliate, throws up a smokescreen.

He gets to Olam's a little passed half-day. At least he is pretty sure it's Olam's house. The address is right, but it's a very odd building.

Unlike the surrounding rectangular buildings, this one looks to be a spire with a large glass side room attached. The glass is too high to look through, but from out here it looks like there are lot's of plants inside. Perhaps it's a greenhouse?

Emerald isn't sure if he should just knock on the door or what. Should he have brought a present or something? He isn't sure of the decorum for this.

Emerald decides to just bite the bullet and go inside. He walks up to the front door and knocks. After a few seconds a zebra mare wearing business clothes answers. The colt asks for Olam, and after giving a look of suspicion he asks him to sit down at the table.

The room is the ground floor of the spire, and it looks to be something like a meeting room. There is a desk besides the door that the zebra mare quickly grabs some paper before walking up some stairs.

The center of the room is a large square table with a chairs all around it. There are exits in the direction of what looks like the greenhouse looking area, the door he came in, a door that seems to lead to a bathroom, and a staircase that spirals both directions into the basement as well as the floor above.

The mare returns shortly and hurries to her desk, and a zebra wearing a strange headpiece appears. He looks sternly down at Emerald. He freezes for a second and raises an eyebrow, and then continues all the way down and sits at the table.

Emerald sits across from him. He decides to give him a gift, and presents him with half of the honey he has.

Olam takes it from Emerald, and examines it closely.

"Giant jungle was honey. Don't see this in Whitherwater too often." The zebra says, and putting the honey aside for the second asks, "So is this what you came for? Or do you have something else you wish to speak with me about. I am a busy stallion."

Emerald apologizes and says that he was wondering if there is a way he could learn from some Zebra Alchemy from him.

Olam raises an eyebrow at him and then says, "Convince me why I should do that. I have a few apprentices already. What can you do? What can you offer?"
