Hey, it's Sugar Belle. I guess some of the ponies from Glimmers town came to celebrate her.
>It's a Twilight Sparkle movie
>The plot revolves her being a whore and chasing after yet another chad's cock
What's /mlp/'s problem with Starlight?
Is it that she was better as a villain? Do you guys not like the way she's played out in the show? Did the staff do or say something that made her unsavory? Did the shitposting of her get to the point that it affected her all around opinion?
>>29810629
Probably a mix of all of the above.

Starlight was great until her motivation was revealed. It was just so mediocre for me. And her reformation didn't seem natural, she wasn't fucked with the Elements so for her to just cast her whole life aside and be like "it's ok now" and suddenly become close friends with m6 isn't a smooth transition.
But then in S6 she's shown like they were never even friends. Twilight isn't really her friend, Glimmer feels uneasy around Twilight while she doesn't seem to notice it. It like the only thing Twilight cares about is finally playing a teacher. Remember that she is the princess of friendship, so she's supposed to be THE expert on everything related to the matter. Alright, maybe she's not because she was never actually trained for that, but the show doesn't acknowledge it. I think it would make for a great episode, Twilight admitting she doesn't really know how to teach properly and Glimmer still supporting her. But instead they say that it's how it's supposed to be, that Glimmer got a lot of good lessons and she's graduating now. Even though she fucked up more times than succeeded it's still fine.
Overall, I think they handled her poorly. She does progress in one episode only to sperg again in another and she doesn't really become better as a pony. Her interactions with m6 are basically nonexistent and with Twilight they're just lukewarm. What is even the point of it? Only at the S6 finale it pays off somewhat but it's not really personal for Glimmer, she didn't really have other choice but to help. She's a lost oppurtunity for me.

They did show that montage of bonding with the main 6 at the end of the S5 finale. Maybe that was her growing close to them over time?

BUT IF YOU ACT NOW WE'LL ALSO THROW IN THE GLAM WOW
>>29814169
So she instantly becomes best friends with them in the space of a shitty montage
Such an amazing character
>>29814259
I'm not saying it instantly forgives everything. Just trying to provide an explanation.
In that case there she should've been shown doing more things in a friendly way with the main 6 throughout the season I think.

>sunset episode
>>29814268
Exactly. Honestly I would be fine with her if she actually did bond with everyone, not in a montage but for real. I'm sure people would warm up to her if she would struggle to gain trust but really wanted to better herself. Motivation and struggle like this can't go unnoticed. Learn how to ease up, learn that everyone have weakness but it doesn't matter, learn that it's ok to make mistakes, learn that not everyone judges her constantly. It could've been great.
>>29814268
I think they really should have done that and make S6 a Glimmer season, like how Twilight appeared in every episode of S1. We still literally know nothing about her except she did something bad and trying to be good or something.
For me Glimmer's nothing more than a plot device or material to summon Trixie, she's just so shallow and not relatable as a character.
>>29814268
Agreed. She needs to find a place in the group instead of turning them into secondary or background characters whenever she's around. We haven't seen Starlight take a proper supporting role in an episode once yet, and I feel like she'd be great at it.
