sick nice awesome, i was waiting for the new thread

Forged this little ditty with the purpose of literally nothing but testing out my tones and brainstorming, but I quite like how it turned out.

Also, hopefully it's mastered ok. I tried to use several different audio outputs of different qualities and get it as perfect as I could; I have physically no knowledge of mastering.

Thoughts?
How far should I take it? Should it be fairly generic or should I try to intertwine some progressive metal tropes with themes from the show? (Time signatures, lead lines, etc?)

By mastering, do you mean mixing (getting all the tracks sounding good together as a song) or actually mastering (getting multiple songs sounding good together/making 2 track bounce sounding even better and loud)?

That's because you uploaded a WAV file with a bitrate of 12288kbps.
I usually only expect WAV files to be about one tenth that bitrate (and one tenth that size for a thirty second clip).

That wasn't even the intention though. I never tweaked the settings when I exported; it just came out at that bitrate. Now that I KNOW, I can make sure it doesn't do the same again.

I know, I know. I never intended the tone of the post to be accusative.

Something I failed to mention was that (nitpicking here) the overall volume is pretty low: music of this genre usually tries to be as loud as possible without clipping (or where the clipping isn't noticeable).
For your example, I'd say that'd translate into raising the overall volume by ~10dB.

Apart from that, I can't advise on mixing. Sounds good, anyway.

I deliberately lowered the volume by about -5DB when I exported it; I was basically trying to get the Feel of the music right whilst making sure that anyone on this thread/partaking in the album wouldn't be deafened by it. I do plan to give it actual volume when I start to make the song proper.

Basically, I didn't want anyone complaining at me that it destroyed their ears when I was just presenting an idea. I know that some people might have their speakers set to high by default; I wanted these people to be able to listen to the WIP without having to be jumpscared and lower their volume.

Glad the mix sounds okay despite this. I didn't intend to sound offended or anything; I do appreciate the advice. Thank you.

I'd have to assume it's to do with the nature of music/music-making, assuming that the only difference between drawfag generals, writefag generals and here is the medium with which we create our art (to sound completely pretentious).
Perhaps it's to do with an inherent social nature demanded music (as I read somewhere)? Counterexample to that would be the solo contributors who seem to make music and do fine without a social bent on their music-making.
Or perhaps a clue or two can be gleamed by looking at content creation, that doesn't thrive to the scale of write- and drawfaggorty, like game-makers (if that's a possible comparison)?

This also got me thinking; are we solo contributors allowed to release our music as 'singles' from the album? Obviously still sending the profits to charity, but dropping them with unique art under our own aliases?

I only ask because some people might be proud of their creations and want to get personal exposure through pushing their song themselves, not just the mention and feature on the album.

I've been through some 15 pages of Discord remixes on YouTube. Yet to find one with a green pone in the thumbnail. Some black and green CG dragon, but no pone.
As for the description of the song, it sounds more like you're describing the original from Eurobeat Brony: I'll assume it takes more influence from that than it does from the Living Tombstone's remix.
