Up until a few months ago I was very against this show. I've made fun of people in real life and even alienated friends in high school for relentless bullying over this show. But then I decided it would be a good idea to actually watch some of the show.

Long story short, I don't hate the show but I hate what this fandom is and I hate even more that I'm a part of it now. Obviously my power level is hidden (I've made fun of someone with merch in the past week) but that's not just for outward appearance: I genuinely hate that I like this show.

This is the epitome of the destruction of masculinity. The show in and of itself is fine: in fact, it is one of the most positive reinforcements of traditional gender roles, social customs, and character values on television. Compare this with, say, Spongebob or anything else on Nick/CN, and it really is a much better show for its target demographic. But it has stretched beyond that demographic. It has reached those already corrupted souls, stripped of their innocence and versed in the ideals the show espouses. Many if not most reject those same ideals yet cling to MLP like it's the last bastion of hope they have before falling into the void of despair. This show, designed to appeal to little girls and teach them how to be little girls, has been stolen, repatriated, and fawned over by grown men. Those grown men should be interested in positives for society, such as traditionally masculine hobbies or anything related to self-betterment.

In short, I hate this fandom (not the show, very few hate the show itself) because it should not be. It is a diversion from the norm, and not one that will affect us or society positively. I hate myself for giving in to it. I hate the friends I have who watch the show. If I find out someone I know is in the fandom, I think worse of them.

In the past month alone I've told 2-3 people to commit suicide for watching this show, as you complained in the OP. Now you know why.

The sole creator left and got replaced by an executive who thinks he's a brony. Every episde since season 2 has been nothing but memes and references without any content. Every episode concept was either a disappointment or something nobody asked for.
The main 6 became assholes/antagonists to one another. They being a team and instead 1 would take the spotlight while the other 5 would wait on the sidelines.

S1 had problems as well with incredibly hypocritical morals, Applejack being an idiot and a lying asshole. It being a crappy slice of life instead of a cartoon or an adventure show based on world design and story arcs. The Nightmare Moon incident gets immediately forgotten.
There's no story or anything interesting happening in the show. No purpose.

The dialogue got dumbed down severely since season 2 started. The songs aren't sung anymore, they're just talking.

It just sounds more like you're trying to enjoy a genre and show that you don't like simply because you like how it looks. Take a moment to take a step back, friend. You don't have to watch something you don't want to. Shit, I mean, if you hate the world-building, creativity, characters and everything that isn't visual, how on earth do you enjoy the greentexts? And you don't have to watch the show to enjoy the porn. That's entirely optional.

Sorry if this seems personal, but I just can't understand why someone would watch a show entirely because of how it looks, especially when it goes against their personal preferences. Especially when they hate everything else about it. I just can't imagine sitting down and watching something I hate because it's pretty. Are Faust's designs really that powerful for you?
