Guess I will anyway, even if three people said fuck right off.

I surprisingly liked it.

I remember not minding S4 when it happened, mostly because I expected less post S3.

But then the quality climbed up moreso during S5, so I was pretty surprised. The opening eps gave me hope for the rest of the season and I wasn't disappointed.

S6 I felt more or less the same. Almost S5's equal, maybe just one or two percent off but still held a very high average, I felt. There was only one or two points where I thought "this ep is bad."

I'll go ahead and assume the new character is a point of controversy, new characters always are. I honestly don't mind Starlight though. I have a soft spot for ex villains in cartoons, and the Green Ranger was my favorite back in the glory days of Power Rangers. I think they played it safe, which was better than doing something risky.

Overall though I enjoyed myself, and will watch S7 with everyone else when it happens live. I still have fond memories of the weekly strams as far back as December '10, so it warms my heart to see this show hasn't utterly gone to the pits.

Here's the oldest pony image I have saved, if my claim of oldfaggotry is disbelieved. I think the filename implies date but I don't know.

Well I'm just going off the claim that the other anon stated, about YT being only 192kb/s as if it's a bad thing. I don't know if it's higher or lower and if they're reencoding the audio.
The problem is, as >>29747138 pointed out, that some people just don't give a fuck, export some video through Movie Maker with a 64kb/s mp3 and feed it to YT.
If you want to really find out the difference (or if there's any) between various bitrates, look up some of those ABX audio tests online. With 192kb/s I can barely even spot a difference in the slightest details, 256 is as good as lossless for me.
Good choice of headphones, though. I tried the HD650 but didn't like the shape, how the plastic creaked and the slightly warmer sound. Went for beyer's T90 instead.

I've seen some pretty good pone 3d adaptations, but it is a difficult balance to achieve, between keeping them recognizably cartoony, but also mechanically sound in 3 dimensions. The muzzle of that one bothers me especially, it has way too little definition

The thing is that a lot of episodes suffered all kind of set backs or meddling from different sources. For example during story boarding they can cut and change parts of the script without the writers finding out.
There's way too many factors to take in consideration and taking just one seems unfair, not that it matters much.

The thing is what about other times where things were unfair for other writers.
Take Season 2 for example.

A Canterlot Wedding was supposed to be written by Charlotte Fullerton. A day before she was going to start the whole shitshow with her husband happened, and so Meghan McCarthy ended up finding out of nowhere that shit besides the three episodes she had to make she had to write two extra, and not just any episodes but the finale. She already probably had a schedule and who knows how much time she could dedicate to the finale.

Things like this and corporate meddling are part of the ride, it doesn't seem fair for Larson, but if you give that kind of exception to him what about all the other writers? Like I'm sure that for some people Flash Sentry appearing in Three's a Crowd made that episode worse, despite that not being in the script nor the storyboards and was added by an animator because corporate orders.

That's the kind of slippery slope I'm afraid of, and part of why I talk out changes before doing them to keep from making hasty decisions. All the keeping track of every bit of con news and deciding what's enough of a change to not be included would be a pain too. It sucks for Larson, but he may have gotten more mic time to talk on it that usual cause Twilicorn is a big deal even now.
Thanks for the conversation. I think I'll just keep it as is given the benefit of the doubt for other writers would just be too much to contain. Who really knows what kind of changes have been made as time went along anyway? Still sucks for Larson though. It's a good thing his other stuff shines well enough to balance it.
