Nightmarity was handled pretty poorly in the comics, I'd rather not have another. She doesn't naturally have the edgy side. Now Twilight on the other hand could make an absolute glorious edgefest of dark magic two-parter.

To the whole situation. The whole premise of it was based on characters (including Rarity) going basically OOC to make the plot happen. I guess they had to speed it up to get to the actual story but that's no excuse.
