She's the bitchiest, most annoying, most dangerous, has constantly hurt and pissed off others, and her job can easily be done by the other pegasi that work in Cloudsdale. Her death would probably be more beneficial for Ponyville and Equestria than for her to stay alive.
She is only really needed to use her element of a threat to Equestria comes along but now we got Shimmer and the >nohooves gang that could just swing by, uses their element powers to defeat any threat and go back.
So she really isn't needed.

Not because I hate her.
She's clearly a favorite amongst alost of fans and she's probably the most bizarre of the main cast.
And half the humor of the show winds up tying into her antics for better or for worse.
She's arguably the most important character when it comes to the general atmosphere and flavor of the show.

Killing her would probably be the biggest drama bomb the show could ever have.
And it would force the writers to completely change how they do things.

Rainbow Dashfag is the most annoying character but I would hate to lose her as she helps create a contrast to the others.

One thing I liked about MLP was that it lacked all that annoying romance/drama shitty writers pour into the scripts in order to fill up the timeslot.

I personally think they headed in a good direction when they introduced ember unto the scene it would allow spike (maybe) gain some cheracter development and would give spike a bigger roll being a dragon (king or prince or however it works) and give him a bit more of the cheracter building he deserves, the times they are a changeling proves that good spike episodes are possible (imho) but the writers have no idea what to do with him other than have him fuck up (princess spike) or attempt to show spike attempt to strive for something new and fail miserably (Dragon quest) so I think it is about time Spike got a new direction
