[AYE AYE, CAPTAIN.]
>Otto responds as a chime ringing over the car’s speakers signals the opening of a communications channel.
>You clear your throat and begin to speak.
“Hey there Infinity control, this is Anonymous captain of the uh…”
>As you realize you never actually named your ship your eyes shoot back and forth between Dan and Spike looking for some kind of suggestion, only for your inquiry to be met with a shrug from your two crewmates.
>Fuck it, unfortunate associations aside Challenger is still a pretty rad name.
“…Captain of The Challenger. Anyway we’d like to request emergency permission to dock. We’ve been stranded on a deserted junk planetoid and, while we managed to escape by cobbling this ship together out of spare parts, we’ve hit a few technical difficulties thanks to our vessel’s patchwork nature. I know we don’t exactly have proper clearance but if we aren’t able to make repairs and refuel we’ll be floating dead in space in a matter of hours.”
>The voice from the station crackles back over the car stereo.
> “I see, I’ll need to present your case to our commanding officer, please stand-”
>”No need lieutenant I heard the whole thing.”
>A second voice says as it cuts off the first.
>”Star command isn’t the kind of organization that would turn away a civilian in need, give them permission to dock.”
>The lieutenant sputters in protest.
>”B-but sir the station hasn’t completed its shakedown yet, the regulations clearly state…”
>”Don’t quote the book at me soldier, I wrote most of it and the regulations aren’t meant to turn away civilian ships in dire states of emergency.”
>The second voice barks as it cuts off the lieutenant for a second time before addressing you over the radio.
>”Go ahead and make your way to the docking bay captain Anonymous, I’ll be down to meet you myself shortly.”
>The commander says in a much more civil tone before the line goes dead.

“Huh, I really wasn’t expecting it to be quite that easy.”
>You say with a shrug as you spin the wheel and send the car into a gentle roll down towards the docking bay on the underside of the station’s saucer.
>”You don’t think it was maybe too easy? What if they just arrest us for violating their airspace and put us to work for the rest of our lives in the spice mines or something?”
>Dan says as he pulls his wrench out from under Spike’s seat and throws it an empty seat for ease of access in case things go south.
“One, that’s crazy talk chill out. Two, it’s not like we really have an option. We can either stop here or starve to death floating in space when we run out of fuel and end up adrift. Just leave the junk cannon in the trunk and we’ll probably be fine.”
>Dan crosses his arms and grumbles under his breath for a few seconds before finally speaking up.
>”Fine, but I’m keeping my wrench on me. There’s no way I’m letting them put me in the mines without a fight.”
>”Holy moly guys look at that.”
>Spike says as a huge white ship glides up out of a launch tube on the top of the station and cruises past you as it circles the station before zipping off into the night.
>”We need to get a ship like that.”
>Spike says, his eyes wide as the gleaming starship vanishes into the void.”
“I whole heatedly agree, but I doubt that’s the kind of thing they just give away.”
>You say to the little dragon as the challenger passes through a glowing field covering the entrance to the docking bay and you bring the car to a rolling stop between the massive launch pads clearly meant to house ships like the massive one you just saw.
>However those pads all currently stand vacant leaving nothing but the odd shuttle craft to occupy the docking bay floor where the challenger is now parked and a lone man in a green and white space suit stands waiting for you.
>>
>>29724871
“Okay guys, behave yourselves.”
>You say taking a deep breath as the three of you get out of the car and go to meet the man who just pulled your bacon out of the fire.
>”Greetings gentlemen and welcome to The Infinity deep space outpost, I regret that your visit couldn’t be made under better circumstances.”
>The Commander says, holding out his hand as the three of you draw closer.
“You and me both senpai, I’m Anonymous, and this is Spike and Dan.”
>You say, introducing your motley crew as you shake the commander’s hand.
“Thanks for breaking protocol to let us drop in for repairs; we’ll try not to cause any trouble for you while we’re here.”
>”Think nothing of it; it was a minor rule about non star command personnel not being allowed on inactive stations. If you all had shown up a week later when the Infinity is fully operational the lieutenant would have let you dock no questions asked. It’s certainly nothing worth letting three people die over, and what else is Star Command for if not protecting the citizens of the galaxy.”
>The lantern jawed commander says with a grin.
“All the same we appreciate you letting us aboard.”
>You say as spike nods enthusiastically and Dan just rolls his eyes until you jab him with an elbow forcing him to nod along.
>”Like I said think nothing of it, managing your case is just what I needed to fill the time it’ll take for the station’s full crew to arrive. And before we get much further, I’m Buzz Lightyear and I’ve been put in charge of overseeing the shakedown of this outpost. Now then if you’ll follow me I’ll show you to your quarters while you’re here on the station.”
>The commander says as he strikes a heroic pose and jabs himself in the chest with his thumb before leading the three of you off down the cavernous docking bay.

“Well I’m glad we won’t be inconveniencing you…”
>You say with a smile, nodding as you follow Buzz before his words fully register in your brain.
“Wait what was that about our case?”
>”Your security case naturally.”
>Buzz says causally as you feel a weight form in the pit of your stomach.
>”Normally as unexpected guests you’d be assigned a security officer until we can determine that you aren’t Zerg agents in disguise or some other form of threat, but with the station being on a skeleton crew we only have one security officer and he’s already dealing with another unexpected visitor we had a few days ago. So I volunteered to keep tabs on you boys during your stay.”
>The three of you exchange a glance before Dan speaks up.
>”Well it’s better than being thrown in the spice mines I guess.”
>Buzz laughs slapping the little man on the back as the three of you make your way down the hall with your new babysitter.
>”I knew you boys would be good sports about it.”
>Buzz says wiping a tear from his eye as you make your way into some kind of turbolift.
>”Anyway it’s just a precaution, you boys don’t look like the type to be Zerg spies. Frankly you boys are lucky I’m the one looking after you, since the regulations say I need to stay nearby at all times you’ll be staying up in the officers’ quarters. The usual observation quarters down on the security level aren’t nearly as spacious.
>Buzz says as the lift stops letting the four of you pile out into a gleaming hallway.
>”The three of you can use these rooms during your stay and you can find me over in room 001.”
>Buzz says as he points to rooms 2 through 4 before pointing to his own.
“I imagine you three would like to rest after your ordeal, so I’ll let you get settled in. If you need anything I’ll be in my quarters.”
>Buzz says as his doors open and he leaves the three of you standing in the hall.

I can't help but notice the recap has had the Anon/ buzz subtext removed.

It's too late now. Their pairing is too pure to be stopped.

Could it be not a coincidence? It is a Disney property after all

A Lord Hater summon would be pretty hype
Or maybe a Wander summon where he runs around tossing mustard and mayo sandwiches to restore HP and MP like Bambi
>>
In case anyone missed it in last thread, we're getting some food that isn't ravioli, some space coffee, and meeting the other visitor.
>>
>>29726796
Speaking of space ravioli I'm heading out to get lunch and then I'll be arround here for the rest of the day.
>>
>>29728404
Noice.

>>29726796
Hey, should we try sending another letter to our favorite solar princess to see if we can reach her here, or should we just treat it as a "checking in" activity when we're on our way off-world?
>>
>>29728465
I like the idea of checking in at the end of each world. That way Celly has the whole world to respond if she's able to.
>>
>>29728465
I agree with >>29728644. It makes sense in character and also for a fun little thing for us to get creative on.
>>
Are we gonna continue to gloss over the fact that Buzz mentioned "another unexpected visitor?" Let's eat and/or freshen up, take a nap if we need to, see about stocking up on fuel and supplies, and then find out about the other guest.

>>29728644
I like this idea, too. Adds a fun little summary/closing to each chapter, kinda acts like Jiminy Cricket's journal.
>>
>>29729554
I'm pretty sure no one glossed over that, since the consensus seems to be meeting up with them.
>>
>>29729554
I've got a good five posts worth of content by the time you hit the end of day 6 and sleep but that's still not the end of your prescribed actions. Do you all want me to go ahead and post what I have while I keep writing the rest or would you rather I wait till the whole thing is done?
>>
>>29730230
Some fresh content would be nice. Might generate some conversation, too.

>”You know, I kind of want to be mad over the whole implicit house arrest and suspicion of terrorism deal on principle, but this is honestly the cushiest arrest I’ve ever been under so if the food’s decent I think I’m going to let it slide.”
>Dan says breaking the silence just as you were trying to figure out how to get the angry little man to let this go.
“Coming from you that’s actually a remarkably mature position.”
>You say shocked at how well Dan is taking the whole affair.
>”Yeah well, the prospect of an actual meal is a huge factor here and I reserve the right to burn this fucker to the ground if I can’t get a decent sandwich.”
>At the mention of a sandwich there’s a rumbly in Spike’s tumbly and the little dragon pipes up.
>”If you get busted over a sandwich I’m eating your share Dan.”
>he says as he clutches his stomach with a slight wince.
“Well I guess that settles it. First order of business is food.”
>You say walking over and knocking on Buzz’s door, cocking an eyebrow as the door slides open with an unquestionably star trek like swoosh.
>”Is there something I can help you boys with?”
>The lantern jawed space ranger says as he appears in the doorway.
“We were actually wondering where we could snag a bite to eat in this joint. Dan here hasn’t actually eaten anything but canned ravioli for months.”
>You say jabbing a thumb over your shoulder at the jerk behind you.
>”Well, it’s actually the night shift by station time but that shouldn’t be a problem. There’s always at least one LGM up there manning the kitchens”
>Buzz says as he leads the three of you back to the lift.
>”You boys are in for a treat, it’s cosmic chili day.”
>At the mention of cosmic chili a grin full of child-like glee creeps onto the space ranger’s face as he presses a button that launches the turbo lift into motion.
>”Are you kidding me? Cosmic chilli? Do you have space raviolis and quasar coffee too?”

>Dan says rolling his eyes at both the ridiculous name and Buzz’s enthusiasm.
>”Hey don’t knock the quasar coffee till you try it, and I can personally guarantee the cosmic chili is out of this world.”
>Buzz responds jovially, taking Dan’s attitude in stride so well that you legitimately can’t tell if Buzz is intentionally trying to antagonize him with that pun or if that’s just straight up how the man talks.
>Dan’s eyelid just twitches in response.
>”Oh, a punny guy huh? This isn’t over, not by a long shot.”
>Dan grumbles under his breath as he stands there seething.
“So you said this place wasn’t fully operational right? What’s the Infinity’s mission once it’s officially active?”
>You say fumbling for a topic that might keep Dan from having a meltdown in the elevator.
>”An excellent question Mr. Anonymous, let me paint you a picture.”
>Buzz says with a grin as he pops open a hatch on his suit’s forearm revealing a computer interface that begins projecting a holographic map in the air before you just as the turbolift doors open onto the station’s expansive mess hall.
>Though mess hall is an inadequate description for the space you’re currently walking through. It feels more like a upscale food court with the capacity to seat hundreds of people complete with multiple vacant restaurant like kiosks that you can only assume will serve food once the full crew arrives.
>”Ah yes here we are.”
>Buzz says as he finishes scrolling through the map to locate the Infinity for the sake of his visual aid.
>”The Infinity sits here at the edge of known, star command monitored, space.”
>The space ranger points at the station for emphasis before continuing.
>”It was constructed to serve as both a staging point for exploration missions out into unknown sectors and as a trading hub for both new civilizations we encounter, and ones that we already know here on the outer rim.”

>Buzz explains as the three of you walk behind the only lit counter in the facility into the kitchens.
>”So like I was saying earlier, you wouldn’t have had any problem landing here once the station was officially active. Hey Lenny!”
>Buzz shouts breaking away from his explanation as the four of you round a corner into the kitchen proper where a three eyed green alien, not much taller than spike spins around from a sink at the sound of the space ranger’s voice.
>”Lenny we’ve got some new guests on the station, think we can get some Chili for them?”
>The little green man nods as he hops down off his stool and begins bustling around the kitchen and in a matter of seconds he’s standing before you with four bowls of steaming cosmic chili waiting for you on a tray.
>”Enjooooooooy.”
>The bug eyed little alien drones as he hands Buzz the tray before returning to his work at the sink.
>Spike and Buzz cheerfully thank the little green man while you and Dan stand there in stunned silence.
>It’s not until the four of you are making your way to a table that you manage to rediscover your ability to speak.
“We just got served chili by a literal little green spaceman right? He wasn’t just a normal midget and I’m not just hallucinating from sleep deprivation?”
>You ask Dan under your breath and the angry little man can only nod in response as he searches for a reply and is ultimately only able to muster up.
>”Think it’s any good?”
>You just shrug as the four of you sit at the table.
“Well I guess we’re about to find out.”
>You say as the two of you pick up a spoon, meanwhile Spike and Buzz have already dug into their steaming bowls of chilly and Spike is flashing you a OKAY sign with his clawed purple hand.
>You take a bite of the chili and a burst of flavor previously unknown to mankind explodes in your mouth assaulting your tongue with the spicy fury of the stars themselves.

>”Holy shit. The alien chili just earned a pass for its goofy ass name.”
>Dan takes a brief moment to say, his eyes watering and his face beet red, before diving back into the chili.
>You on the other hand, decide to get back to the previous conversation on the Infinity’s purpose.
“While I’m thinking about It I should probably warn you about the ‘world’ we came from, if you can even call it that.”
>You say taking another bite of chili before continuing.
“It was a small planetoid that seems like it was made entirely out of junk and detritus from other worlds and the only inhabitants we were able to find there were these hostile creatures called the Heartless.”
>Buzz nods as you describe the shadows and soldiers you encountered before interjecting.
>”We’ve actually received reports of such creatures popping up on some of the worlds under star command’s protection, but I’ve never heard of them overrunning a world before.”
>”Believe me overrun is putting it mildly.”
>Dan says as he comes up for air.
>”I’ll put a flag in the system for the exploration team.”
>Buzz says as he pops open the panel on his forearm and taps at a few keys before returning to the conversation.
>The three of you regale Buzz with the story of your quest to escape the Heap but by the time the three of you reach the end of your tale Spike is practically asleep in his bowl.
>”What? I’m awake!”
>The little dragon shouts as he jerks upright only to droop back down onto his tray a few seconds later.
>”Looks like you boys have been through the wringer over the past few days, if you want to go ahead and get some rest your ship isn’t going anywhere. Repairs can wait till morning.”
>You think about insisting on getting to work immediately but you can feel the day catching up with you.
“You know what, sounds good.”
>You say, yawning as you help the drowsy dragon to his feet and the four of you make your way back down to your quarters.

>When the four of you arrive at your quarters Buzz turns to face the three of you as he opens his door.
>”I know things have been rough on you but that’s all about to turn around, you don’t have to worry about swarms of roaming heartless here on the Infinity.”
>He says with a smile before stepping through the door and leaving the three of you alone once more.
>”Goodnight guys.”
>Spike yawns as his door swooshes open and he vanishes into his quarters.
>Dan grunts an acknowledgement before following suit leaving you alone in the hallway.
>You pull out your journal as you step into your quarters but all thoughts of studying a new spell crafting formula vanish from your mind when you see the plush bed waiting for you in the officer’s suite.
“Yeah that can wait for now.”
>You say as you pull everything out of your pockets and leave it on the nightstand before heading into the adjoined bathroom.
>Looking around the room in addition to the usual amenities you also see a hatch labeled auto-launder.
“Clothes returned in one hour or less.”
>You mutter to yourself as you read the instructions on the hatch.
“Talk about space age convenience.”
>You say as you throw your sweat stained grime dust covered suit into the hatch and hop into the shower for the first time in days.
>A few minutes later a plume of steam bursts from the bathroom door and you stumble into the bed and slip effortlessly into a deep dreamless sleep.

>End Day 6

>You yawn and rub the sleep from your eyes as gentle beeping rouses you from your sleep.
>{The time is presently 0700 hours}
>A soft mechanical voice says and the beeping resumes before you sit up in bed and the alarm automatically shuts off.
>You rub your eyes and look blearily around the room and discover a panel jutting from the wall that wasn’t there the night before.
>On said panel sits your suit, neatly pressed and folded waiting for you fresh from the auto laundry system.
“Guess we’re full home of tomorrow in here huh?”
>You say as you pick up the suit and get ready to face the day.
>A few minutes later you’re standing in the hallway and for the first time in days you don’t look like an overdressed hobo.
>Dan on the other-hand still looks like a hobo as he exits his room, albeit an unusually clean one.
>”Sweet Jesus do you know how long it’s been since I’ve seen a shower?”
>Dan says stretching as spike joins the three of you in the hallway his scales restored to their usual luster.
>Before you have a chance to greet the three of them Buzz joins you in the hallway.
>”Up and at’em boys, you ready to get your ship shipshape again?”
>Buzz asks with an enthusiasm that it is far too early for you to match.
>The best you’re able to do is a nod prompting Buzz to continue.
>”I’ll put in a work order with the and see about sending a few guys up to help with your repairs.”
>Buzz says as he pops open his communicator and puts in the order before slapping it shut and looking up at the three of you.
>”But first things first, how about breakfast?”
>He says as the three of you all nod enthusiastically and make your way back up to the mess hall which is now bustling with activity.
>It takes a few minutes but before long you’ve collected a tray of breakfast burritos from Lenny and the four of you are seated.
>”So is this the whole station’s crew?”
>Spike asks looking around the busy mess hall but Buzz only chuckles.

>”No I know I said we’re on a skeleton crew but we have significantly more hands on board than this. This is only the first shift.”
>Buzz explains as he unwraps his burrito before pausing mid explanation.
>"Oh, I meant to ask yesterday, how did you boys even end up on this ‘Heap’ in the first place?”
>Buzz asks as he swallows a mouthful of burrito.
>”Well that’s a question with more than one answer.”
>Dan says as he loads up his burrito with hot sauce
>”I found myself trapped there months ago after my world was destroyed. I’m not exactly sure how I got there, one minute I was in a burger joint and everything was going to shit and the next I’m waking up on the heap in half an abandoned restaurant.”
>Dan explains before pointing at spike.
>”The little guy on the other hand I found wandering around a few days ago. Says he and his friends fell through some kind of portal and he ended up alone on the Heap.”
“Spike and I actually knew each other before the Heap.”
>You say picking up Dan’s story.
“The portal that separated us didn’t drop me on the Heap at all. I got there using this.”
>You say setting the depleted star shard on the table.
“Unfortunately it died after one use but at least I was able to find spike again.”
>You say shooting the little dragon a thumbs up as Buzz rubs his chin thinking about what you said.
>”You know boys I wonder-”
>He starts before an alarm cuts the space ranger off and the lights in the mess hall begin flashing red.
>”That can wait for later we need to get to the bridge now!”
>Buzz says as he throws his burrito on the table and runs towards the turbolift.
>Spike wolfs down his burrito in one bite and takes off after buzz while you wrap your burrito and pocket it before following the two of them.
>Dan just follows behind at a leisurely pace still eating his burrito.
“What’s going on?”
>You say as the three of you follow Buzz into the elevator.

>In a matter of seconds the four of you are stepping onto the bridge as Buzz barks orders.
>”What’s the situation Lieutenant.”
>A scrawny man in a similar green and white suit snaps to attention saluting Buzz before replying.
>”Commander we have an asteroid on a trajectory that will be bringing it dangerously close to the station.”
>He explains as the three of you look out the window only to discover the asteroid that had nearly smashed the challenger the day before.
>”Oh hey that nearly hit us yesterday. I wouldn’t worry about it guys it wasn’t on a collision course for the station last time we saw it.”
>Dan says as he turns around leaning on a nearby console.
>”That may be but it doesn’t hurt to be cautious. What I want to know is why we didn’t know about this days ago.”
>Buzz replies before turning to the lieutenant.
> “Why didn’t our telemetry pick it up?”
>The lieutenant can only squirm under Buzz’s gaze.
>”I don’t know sir, we couldn’t detect it till it was practically on top of us. The only reason we know about it at all is because I happened to see it out the window just before I raised the alarm.”
>The lieutenant says sweating bullets.
>”You’ve done good ranger, take us down to yellow alert, this problem should cruise right by us soon enough.”
>Buzz says as he sits down in a large chair in the middle of the room.
>”Now as I was saying earlier.”
>Buzz turns back to the three of you as he switches gears from commanding to conversational in the blink of an eye.
>”Our other guest down on the security level mentioned being thrown through a portal as well.”
>You and Spike share a concerned look as Buzz continues.

We were concerned Zurg had developed some kind of teleportation technology so of course we had to place her under observation. She didn’t exactly take kindly to the idea, said it was incredibly rude of us to violate a lady’s privacy like that and then kicked our security officer.”
“Oh shit.”
>You say as the realization hits you and Spike at the same time but the little dragon manages to formulate an actual question while you’re busy swearing.
>”This guest’s name wouldn’t happen to be Rarity would it?”
>Spike asks and Buzz snaps his fingers and points at the little dragon.
>”We know her, she’s one of our missing friends!”
>Spike blurts out and buzz just looks at the two of you confused.
>”I can take you guys down to verify that but she’s some kind of tiny talking unicorn, you’re a lizard man and Anon is a garden variety human. How do the three of you come from the same place?”
“Well to be fair Spike is a dragon and I’m not even from their world originally.”
>You say trying to clear things up only for Dan to chime in.
>”Hold on now you’re friends with not just a princess but unicorns too?
>Dan says as you and spike look at each other unsure about how to answer that question.
“Yeah pretty much, we’ll fill you in on the details later while we’re working on repairs but for now we need to go check on Rarity.”
>Dan seems satisfied with this response and you turn to Buzz.

>”Well, now actually.”
>Buzz says as he looks out the window and sees the asteroid cruising safely past.
>”Cancel the yellow alert, we’re heading down to the security deck lieutenant.
>Buzz says as the four of you pile into the turbo lift.
>”I can’t believe Rarity was here the whole time.”
>Spike says bouncing around the elevator as Buzz pushes a button and the lift starts to descend.
>Suddenly the alarm blares through a hidden set of speakers as a voice bursts over the intercom.
>”ALL HANDS BRACE FOR IMPACT”
>You barely have time to say,
“Wait, what?”
>Before a concussive burst of force rips through the station knocking the four of you around the turbolift like a can of Mexican jumping beans.
>The pod screeches to a halt in the middle of the shaft and you slam your head on the control panel and you slump to the floor.
>The last thing you hear before you pass out is Dan groaning.
>”It couldn’t have just been an easy pit stop could it?”

Yen, don't forget to give us Buzz's info and moves if he will be an active party member after that crash. And probably too early to ask, but will there be a limit of an active in fights characters in the future? KH always had limited it to 3 (4 if you count CoM system too)

>At first all you can feel is the dull throb of pain in your forehead as your senses return but as reality slips into sharper focus you begin to notice the sound of an alarm droning in the background.
>You manage to pry open your eyes and the scene that waits for you is illuminated by the dull red glow of emergency lighting as you stagger to your feet.
>A quick glance around the tiny room reveals that you’re still in the turbolift and the others were apparently knocked unconscious as well by whatever crash that was that rocked the station and triggered the lift’s emergency breaks.
>You crouch down and try to shake Spike awake, fortunately for you the dragon responds almost immediately.
>”I’m up Twilight, don’t leave me behind I want pancakes too!”
>The little dragon shouts eliciting a grumble from Dan as the little dragon sits bolt upright.
“Sorry little buddy no pancakes today.”
>You say as spike groans and looks around the room trying to get his bearings.
>”Ugh what happened?”
> Spike says as he rubs his bruised forehead.
“Well my best guess is something hit the station.”
>”And you’d be correct, that’s the hull breach alarm”
>You jump as Buzz sits up and joins the conversation while he pulls his purple thermal hood back in place.
>”We need to go see if Rarity is okay.”
>Spike groans as he pulls himself to his feet and begins pressing the button for the security level Buzz pressed earlier.
>Unfortunately the elevator continues to quietly sit in its current break assisted position.
>”The first thing we need to do is get out of this elevator, in the event of a breach the lifts shut down.”
>Buzz says as he goes over to pry open the door.
>”We’re going to have to get where we need to go on foot.”
>The space ranger says with a grunt as the doors budge a few inches revealing a hallway about knee high to the floor of the lift.
“Hang on let me get Dan.”
>You say crouching down to shake the angry little man.

>”If you go to Burgerphile without me Chris I swear I will cut you!”
>Dan shouts as he wakes from his concussed slumber before looking around the room and realizing where he is.
>”So things have once again gone completely sideways huh?”
>He says as he takes stock of the alarm and the emergency lights.
“Yeah something hit the station; we’ve got a hull breach.”
>Dan’s eyes go wide as you help him to his feet.
>”Fuck, we’re lucky we woke up at all.”
>He says as he wedges his wrench into the gap Buzz has made between the lift doors.
>”Okay let’s get out of here.”
>He says prying open the doors as you and Buzz pull from opposite ends.
>Before you know it the three of you are clambering up out of the elevator into a hallway that looks very different from the ones you’ve seen so far.
>Apart from the odd flickering fluorescent bulb the hallway is also lit by red emergency lights, but it isn’t the lighting that’s transformed this hallway.
>What’s different is the thick black residue that seems to be growing in patches on the floor, dripping from the ceiling and even up the walls.
>In some places it seems to coat entire sections of hallway drowning out the lights as the slimy black ooze covers them completely.
>”How long were we out?”
>Dan asks as the four of you stare down the hall, and after taking a closer look you see little black motes of ash or dust floating around the hall.

>Buzz says as he flips open the panel on his wrist and attempts to hail the bridge.
>For a few seconds the line crackles with static before a panicked lieutenant finally answers.
>”Commander thank goodness, I’ve been trying to contact you for hours. I was afraid the asteroid had destroyed your lift when it hit.”
>“What do you mean asteroid? I saw it cruise right past us with my own eyes.”
>Buzz replies tersely as he quickly looks up from his coms to scan the hallway.
>”Well sir that’s the thing, it all started with that asteroid. You see shortly after you left it changed course. And not a slight course correction either sir it pulled a near 180 degree turn and smashed directly into the Infinity.”
“What does he mean change course, It’s just an asteroid right?”
>You ask as Buzz holds up a finger asking you to wait.
>”What do you mean where it all started?”
>The lieutenant’s voice is trembling when he comes back on the radio.
>”Something is wrong with the asteroid Sir. This horrible black substance has been growing from the breach and that’s not the worst of it. I’ve had to barricade the bridge against th-”
>A crash cuts off the lieutenant and you hear a wet gurgling roar, like the creature making the noise is sporting a sucking chest wound.
>“AAAAHHHHHHHHHH OH GOD THEY’RE HERE”
>You can hear him screaming followed by the sound of blaster fire and more of the gurgling wet roars until finally the line goes dead.
>The four of you look at each other stunned, unsure what to make of what you just heard.
>You try to think of something helpful to say, something that will get the four of you moving towards a solution for this problem, but the only thing that comes to mind is simply
“Well, shit.”

Far Side of Infinity
>>
>>29732244
And with those double dubs our intro is concluded and our first Disney world is well and truly begun.

Question is, what are you all going to do now?
>>
>>29732257
Well shit, indeed.

Sounds like the bridge could use some backup. But going to help them would mean not going to the security level to make sure Rarara is safe.

I think Buzz said that Rarity has her own guard. Is he able to contact the guard and find out their status?
>>
>>29732522
It's not like we physically able to get to upper levels while elevators are shut down. Only search for Rarara and try to warn her and her guard what exactly happened (we could try and contact AUTO, but it's not like he have any way of helping), and try not to get eaten by ayylien heartlesses

If Buzz going to complain about civilians in danger zone just show him a keyblade. Also, Dan and Spike probably don't have their weapons?
>>
>>29732577
Dan should still have his wrench, unless he changed his mind about bringing it with him, and Spike can handle hand-to-hand while we make our way back to AUTO.

As for priorities? Assist Rarity and her security officer, make sure AUTO is okay, then regain control over the bridge. If may be so bold as to assume, the bridge most likely holds the boss for this segment.
>>
Just throwing this out there, but our mantra for this entire world should be, "Don't use Fire an a limited oxygen environemnt."

>>
>>29732762

>”I’ll put in a work order with the and see about sending a few guys up to help with your repairs.”

Is there some word missing between the "the" and the "and", or is that supposed to be something like "them"?
>>
>>29732786
It was supposed to say with the LGM. But it got cut out to make the charecter limit on the post. Problem is I should have cut the "with the" too in order for the sentence to work.
>>
>>29732577
I should point out that while yes the elevator is out, you are not on the security level. That's quite a ways down the station on the opposite side of the impact site. So up or down you are going to need to find a way to get to other levels. So don't rule out going to the bridge as an option.

And you are correct in thinking Spike has no weapon. dan does at least have his wrench though.
>>
>>29733129
Oh.

Then we must search for the safe ways up and down, probably by asking the only guy here familiar with station structure, going into elevator shaft or by THUNDER some generators. And only after contacting with Rarara and Auto to learn more about what is going on above and below decide where to go. Leaving Rarity at that moment will be dickish, but leaving lieutenant, repairing team and others to their demise if we are able to help is not nice too. Should learn first who is in much more serious troubles, leutenant and many civilians or security officer and magic marshmallow. And I don't think that separating into two teams is a good idea
>>
>>29733189
Considering how the Lieutenant's comm literally died off with him screaming, I don't think there's much of him left.

If we're debating whether or not to go to Rarara or the Asteroid site, I suppose it's a question of what we want to lose/gain. If we go to Rarity first, then there's probably gonna be way more Heartless on board than usual. If we go after the Asteroid first, then something might occur to Rarity while we're preoccupied.

If we don't split up, then we'll have to choose, since those two points are in almost completely different directions.
>>
>>29733469
I can see I'm going to have to make you cats a map of the station.
>>
>>29733503
That might help.
>>
>>29733189
Party splitting is almost 100% guaranteed to be a bad idea, especially with an unknown level of danger from the heartless. Personally I'm feeling getting Spike an improvised weapon and heading to Rarity first, she might be useful in a fight, and even if not we should rescue folks without defenses and formal training first.

>>29733503
I can tell you right now we're probably also going to want to know the path to the medbay and armory if they're operational on this station, Yen, just to save you the trouble of drawing up two maps.

>>29734284
Okay so here is the map of the station that buzz can produce for you. It's not super detailed but it's enough to give you an idea of where you want to go and what options you have available. Unfortunately Buzz doesn't have access to the situation on the ground post impact so this map does not have information on damage sustained or what's going on in the various sections. However it will update as you go, or if you can figure out how to reactivate internal sensors your map will become a lot more responsive to current events.
>>
>>29736793
So we're closer to the bridge, then. With Security being completely opposite of our position, securing the Bridge might be a wise move so we can access the station-wide comms.
>>
>>29736793
And have a Buzz character sheet as well.

Looks like our immediate plan is to try and head up to the bridge? how do we want to try and get there? Climb the turbo lift shaft, something that you know where it is, or try and track down a Jefferies Tube?
>>
>>29737267
I assume there isn't an emergency staircase? Stupid futuristic backpedaling.

I worry about the immense drop damage we'd suffer if we decided to climb the rope and failed a Strength check, so looking for an access tunnel would be helpful, I think.
>>
>>29737377
I'd honestly be more worried about the lift being compromised than falling but I agree access is probably the way to go.
>>
>>29737267
And don't forget an attempts to contact security officer that is guarding Rarara and AUTO
>>
>>29737377
Hang on, Buzz can fly. Is his Rocket Pack strong enough to carry everyone up/down the lift shaft if we hang on to him?
>>
>>29738294
Just Anon? Sure.
Anon and Spike? Definitely.
All three at once? I doubt it.

Unless you're suggesting to ferry back and forth through the turbolift shaft? In which case, that poses it's own risks, since teammates might be stranded on vastly different floors if something goes south.
>>
>>29738723
Yeah I can't imagine dan would do very well if he got ambushed on his own.
>>
>>29738723
Two Rocket Packs was enough to lift up a giant alien monster, so capacity is not a problem here. But fire coming from it probably is
>>
>>29739903
Literally first 10 minutes of Buzz Lightyear "movie", and more of such moments in tv series. So he can lift us in theory. But it's an open fire in really closed space of elevator shaft while carrying three persons so it's still a bad option here if Dicemaid wants to have "fun" with us
>>
>>29736793
Is the star our current location, then? That'd make sense. Working off of that, if the way is unimpeded, going up to the bridge would be a relatively short trip if we wanted to see what we could do there. After that, I'd advocate for a quick stop at the armory for Spike and maybe Dan (I'm assuming Buzz wouldn't need much more than what he's got, but obviously if he wanted more firepower he could grab it). Then, I think getting suits for the places the hull is breached will be next; gonna be hard to rescue Rarara if we're busy floating dead in space. I'm assuming we're the only other civvies on the ship besides her, so we can at most give the quarters a once-over on our way down, the crew can hopefully handle themselves.

So, I'm figuring bridge, armory, environment control, security. Thoughts, guys? And I'm betting we could get some magic ideas if we stopped in to gravimetrics, but that's probably lower priority than saving lives.
>>
>>29740038
If we could get a comm link to that security officer, we might be able to cut the middle man and meet halfway.
>>
>>29740038
Looks like the bridge it is. I'll get to work on it soon as I get home.

>You pinch the bridge of your nose and squeeze your eyes shut while you try to assemble some kind of a plan of action.
>The problem is, that there are so many unknowns about the current situation that an effective plan is all but impossible.
>That makes information priority one, you think to yourself before pointing at Buzz.
“You don’t have a way to tap into the station’s computer and get us a map do you?”
>You ask and the space ranger shakes his head apologetically.
>”With the system down like this the best I can do is the general layout.”
>Buzz says as he projects a holographic display of the station with a red blinking light indicating your current position near the communications center just off one of the main turbolift shafts.
>”Now if we can find a way to tap into the Infinity’s sensors I can get us a map that can actually tell us something about the current situation. The best place to do that is either going to be up here at the bridge, or down in the engineering level.”
>Buzz says as he points to the two sections on the map.
“Looks like the bridge is probably the closest, plus that lets us help the lieutenant if we can. Question is, how do we get there with the lifts down?”
>You ask examining the map as you try to figure out a way to reach your destination.
>”Why don’t we just climb the elevator shaft, that should take us straight there right?”
>Buzz shakes his head as he walks over to the turbolift.
>”The lift isn’t engineered with anything we can use as traction. Then again we don’t really need to use the lift.”
>Buzz says as he kicks a panel near the turbolift entrance causing it to pop out of place in the wall and slide to the side with a pneumatic hiss.
>”The access shafts run parallel to the lift. Provided it isn’t blocked we can get back to the bridge without much trouble.”

>Spike sticks his head into the shaft and looks around for a second before you hear his voice echo out of the tunnel.
>”I don’t see any ladder or anything in here there are just these handles sticking out of the wall every six feet or so.”
>As Spike mentions a ladder Buzz laughs.
>”We wouldn’t design a space station miles long that you need to climb up and down in the event of an emergency. If you want to step back little guy It’ll be faster if I demonstrate.”
>Spike backs away from the hatch and Buzz crouches down and jumps into the access tunnel.
>”Holy shit man what are you doing!”
>Dan shouts expecting Buzz to fall to his death only for the space ranger to hang there in midair.
>”The access tunnels don’t have artificial gravity in place. Normally you would grab one of these handles and be pulled to your destination but in case of emergency they can still be used as handholds to push off of.”
>Buzz says pointing to the handles before he pulls himself out of the way to make room for the next person.
“I’m not going to lie, after childhood full of star trek I was legit expecting to find a ladder in here we were going to need to climb.”
>You say as you hop into the access shaft, your stomach turning as you suddenly find yourself floating weightlessly.
>As you pull yourself out of the way for Spike you realize the tunnel is more spacious than it looked from the outside.
>There’s enough room for two people to pass going opposite directions along with enough extra clearance to drag the odd tool kit or replacement component.
>Spike flails his arms wildly as the sensation of weightlessness grips him, but Buzz grabs the little dragon and guides him over to a handle to make room for Dan as he glides in and the panel hisses shut.
>Unlike the hall outside the shaft isn’t lit by dull red emergency lights, Instead it’s lit by a series of white arrows pointing up along handles on the right side of the shaft and down on the left.
>>
>>29744442
>”Bridge is this way gentlemen. Good thing we were relatively close.”
>Buzz says as he kicks off one of the motionless handles and goes gliding silently up the shaft in the direction of the bridge.
>You give an experimental tug on one of the handles and you begin to slowly glide up the shaft before kicking one of the handles as you float past.
>When you add the force of your kick to your gentle glide you shoot up the shaft and begin gaining on Buzz.
>Dan and Spike swiftly follow suit and before long the four of you are gliding up the access tunnel.
>It only takes a few seconds for Spike to break the silence.
>”So Buzz, do you think you can get in touch with the security officer? I need to know if Rarity is okay.”
>Spike says with grim resolute stare that would prove very intense and inspiring were it not for the blush creeping into his cheeks at the thought of not only seeing rarity again but being the big hero who rescues her.
>”I’ll see what I can do little man.”
>Buzz says, moved by the little dragon’s intensity, as he gives the dragon a determined nod.
>”Hello Security Chief Woody, Come in Woody. This is Buzz Lightyear, requesting a status report on our recent surprise guest.”
>The only response you receive is a uniform field of static.
>”Sorry little guy with the station’s internal communications down there’s too much interference from the station itself to reach them.”
“Do you think we can find a work around for that up on the bridge?”
>You ask as spike stares down the shaft crestfallen.
>”I’d say chances are decent we could tap into the ships internal coms up here.”
>Buzz says nodding as he grabs a handle near an access door and pulls himself to a stop.
>You barely have time to react and grab your own handle but you manage to hold on as Buzz pries open the bridge level exit.
>>

>Spike and Dan on the other hand see your near miss and have no trouble stopping in time to follow you and Buzz as you crawl out of the hatch.
>You smell it before you actually see it.
>The smell of iron hanging heavy in the air and clinging to the back of your throat every time you breathe in.
“Spike, stay in the shaft.”
> You call out, covering your mouth to block out the smell as you turn and look to see the lieutenant slumped a blood splashed command console.
>”Oh man, he’s definitely not going to make it to the company Christmas party.”
>Dan says as he walks over to the lieutenant and rolls the body over to investigate the wound.
>”Oh shit, that can’t be good.”
>Dan groans as he gets an eyeful of the wound that killed the lieutenant.
>The lieutenant’s chest cavity seems to have been ripped open diagonally but that’s not the most peculiar thing about the wound.
>Nor is the fact the man’s chest seems to have been torn open by a sharp single edged implement that managed to punch straight through the space ranger’s armor the strangest detail.
>No the strangest detail is the thick black and red slime that seems to have congealed in the lieutenant’s wound and across the chest plate of the poor sap’s sundered armor.
>”Say does that stuff look…”
“Like the goo in the hallway on the communications level. I was just thinking the same thing”
>You say finishing Dan’s sentence just before buzz calls to you from the other side of the room.
>”I think we may have a serious problem on our hands.”
>You take a few seconds to drag some chairs over to block the body from view before calling over to Spike.
“Okay spike you can come in now.”
You say as you make your way over to meet Buzz and Spike crawls onto the bridge to meet up with the three of you.

>He says pointing at the black spot.
>”I’ve tried to get more but everything else is down, internal sensors, internal coms, main power, external coms.”
>Buzz trails off and stands in silence for a second before snapping the map shut.
>”The only thing that seems to be working is gravometrics and the environmental systems and who knows how long either of those will hold out.

>>29744507
Photon Bomb or try out Blizzard to pierce that thing and Buzz shoot the heck out of it with laser, probably in legs to make it less mobile. Dan and Spike not much of a use without ranged weapons and I'm not feeling like letting lieutenant body get close to us is a good idea
>>
I second Photon Bomb at the open wound. If Buzz's laser deals Light damage, it can be aimed at the open wound too.
And let's not forget to investigate the shit out of this new enemy.

For Dan and Spike, they could throw those chairs at it. I agree that it would be a good idea for everyone to keep their distance right now.
>>
>>29744485
You do realize that Xion jokes make no sense? Because not only Xion, but also Namine - both of them - were forgotten.
>>
>>29744497
Joking aside, if the Lieutenant has 0 HP, body blows might do jack shit against him. We might want to do limb shots in order to immobilize the human suit the Heartless has.
>>
>>29744827
Namine was forgotten too? Explain.
>>
>>29744497
I have the biggest fucking grin on my face, space-horror is awesome and I can't wait to see where this goes.

Maybe we should try to freeze and shatter the weapon, though? Like, don't get me wrong, self-preservation first, but if we can avoid mutilating the shit out of this poor dude's corpse, I think everyone would be happier for it.

Then again, I doubt we're going to be getting out of this without at least one ex-person exploding into meaty giblets via chestburster, so it may be best to get the inevitable vom-fest out of the way now so we can harden the team against it.
>>
>>29745072
By Sora and his three pals (Jiminy including), to restore mess in their heads that she kinda caused in CoM. "Thanks, Namine"
>>
>>29744497
Also I only now noticed that Lieutenant "morphed" into that thing in less than two posts. If we went to other places before going to Bridge his body would probably completely turned into heartless-ish abnomination before our arrival
>>
>>29736793
I do have to ask, though. Who in the world puts the ship security on the ass end of a station? Wouldn't it be more convenient for them to be where Engineering or Communications is?
>>
>>29745085
Oh, right. Fun fact, for some reason I thought Sora remembered. I guess I misinterpreted this part back then:
https://youtu.be/_vocDalCY8c?t=9m7s
>>
freezing them whole will do us a lot better of removing the threat unless the goop also gave the lieutenant super strength or regenerative powers.
Also should we make a note if shit goes soiuth that fire magic and spikes breadth is a last resort?
>>
>>29745164
Well, Officer's Quarters near them, and Security near all civilians

>>29745234
If movies about Aliens and Things teached us anything, fire is the best option to deal with cosmic horrors. But first that horror must be removed from poor pal body. Also poor Spike, a kid from marshmallow lands and witnessing... this
>>
>>29745100
Well, it's also possible that this is one of those types that waits for victims and only expends energy when there's something nearby. If it hadn't made that gurgling sound, we probably would've gotten a slash to the back before we knew we were even in battle.

>>29745165
I got the impression that, in general, a Nobody only "existed" so long as somebody knew and remembered them. You could kill them, as first seen in CoM, but it was the act of being witnessed that made them real, and Namine and Roxas existed because they witnessed each other. When they became part of Sora and Kairi again, they were essentially forgotten by virtue of the fact that their whole selves' existence overwrote their own. Then again, the way Nobodies work is kinda confusing to me anyway, so I could be way off.

>>29745234
Fire + limited oxygen = bad, I agree. I have to wonder, too, if zombie-ism is something that only happens to the dead (Necromorphs) or whether they can try to infect a living host (T-virus)?

>>29745252
The lieutenant might be a good candidate to try different things out on then, yeah; better to try and find a way now to remove Darkness Goop than when we're surrounded. Might want to do an investigation check while we're at it to see what there is in the room to give Spike or Dan a little more range. I feel bad for Spike too, but he's also our tank; we'll need to make sure he's okay fighting in these conditions, don't want him getting shell-shocked in the middle of a fight when we can't help him.
>>
>>29745274
That's one of the main problems with zombie fighting: fighting something that looks alive, but clearly isn't.

Investigation would be nice, especially since there might be an emergency axe or something that Spike could use.

But isn't our Fire spell magic-based, where it wouldn't interact with the oxygen? Because if it isn't, then wouldn't Thunder be bad as well, considering how lightning reacts to oxygen?

This is cool, but I'll confess I don't get Touhou at all. All I know is that it's a bullet hell game and every character is broken as shit on SaltyBet; are there a lot of parallels between it and KH, or is this like the pony mods for Skyrim where the connection is tenuous at best?
>>
>>29747399
Touhou shares the trait of crossing over with everything that MLP has. These two vids were basic crossover stuff with MMD.

>Buzz says stepping between the three of you and the late lieutenant as you hear capacitors in his suit charging and a flickering red light begins to shine on his right gauntlet.
>But in a surprising show of speed for a shambling reanimated corpse the lieutenant leaps across the room slashing at Buzz before he can so much as raise his arm.
>Buzz goes tumbling to the ground as the lieutenant tries to drive its dripping black claw through the space ranger’s armor.
“Blizzard!”
>You shout pointing the keyblade at the lieutenant and a cone of blistering cold and frost burst out of the key as its question mark shaped bit glows a pale blue.
>As the frigid air blasts across the heartless the black sludge coating the lieutenant’s body crackles and pops as it freezes before your subzero assault.
>”Get fucked!”
>Dan shouts as he winds up with his wrench and slams the heavy chunk of steel into the slow moving chilled heartless knocking it away from Buzz and sending it tumbling across the room before helping the space ranger to his feet.
>”Next time you treat me like a child I’m letting it eat you.”
>Dan says jabbing his finger angrily in the spaceman’s direction before turning his attention back towards the flailing remains of the lieutenant.
>”Go get it Spike, finish it off!”

>Spike shouts as the chair sails through the air striking the lieutenant’s head resulting in a sickening snap that echoes around the room as the lieutenant slumps to the floor.
>”Oh you definitely got some little-.”
>Dan’s satisfied grin fades instantly as the lieutenant stands again, his head dangling from his neck at an unnatural angle as it begins shambling your way again as the frost begins to slowly disperse.
>”Son of a bi-“
>Dan is cut off again by a high pitched whine as the capacitors in Buzz’s suit hit full capacity and a beam of red light lances out of the blaster mounted on the ranger’s wrist.
>The brilliant red light slices through the ooze coating the lieutenant’s arm and melts a hole in his armor before burning though the lifeless flesh underneath.
>And while Buzz doesn’t quite succeed in slicing the arm completely off, by the time the crimson beam of light flickers out the lieutenant’s arm is hanging uselessly at his side and the black goo that coated it is dripping into a puddle on the floor.
>”My apologies little man, I’ll let you take point in the future.”
>Buzz says with a smile patting Dan on the shoulder as the heartless pulls its head upright and looks at the smoking wound in its shoulder before bellowing at the four of you with a gurgling roar.

Anon 42 hp 60mp
Spike 50 hp 30mp
Dan 40hp
Buzz 48hp suit power cells 85%
>>
>>29748252
Two questions: What's the deal with the Power Cells? What's the status on the Lieutenant?
>>
>>29748378
the power cells are basically buzz's suit's capacity to do things besides life support. It does recharge over time and can be rapidly charged at certain terminals but in a battle it's a more or less finite resource.

As for the Lieutenant, scan is still showing he has zero hp.
>>
I think now is about the time for that Investigate check to tell what's going on here.
>>
>>29748459
Sounds good to me. Should keep trying to delimb and freeze this Heartless until it leaves the suit.
>>
>>29748677
It looked like the goop recoiled pretty good from buzz's laser. So I'm figuring it's either weak to fire or light.
>>
>>29749743
I thought we were forgoing Fire, since we're in a low oxygen environment or something.
>>
>>29749762
I the environmental systems may be down but we're also in a massive space station. I think we might be able to spare a fire spell. Or at least a heat blade if not a full fire spell.
>>
>>29749762
If we don't want to do fire we could try a photon bomb directly in the home buzz blew in its shoulder. That would be pretty rad.
>>
>>29748252
Sad thing we don't have sharp keyblades yet. Must investigate the heck out of it and scan surrounding for anything useful for Spike and Dan to use
>>
>>29750565
I don't think that the lack of an edge will hold us back. Keyblades seem to be selectively sharp as the situation requires.
>>
>>29751173
Doesn't our keyblade have a built-in darkness repeller, basically? Is there any chance that our melee attack is enough to bust this thing loose from the lieutenant, even without a proper sharp edge?
>>
>>29748219
It looks like the "Lieutenant" is first no matter what we pick, so acting defensively might be helpful. Investigation might help too.
>>
Dan and Spike should definitely aim for the legs to knock it down.

>>29750071
This might be a valid point, combine dark-banishing powers of the Keyblade with good old-fashioned zombie-murdering fire and we could probably do some damage without expending too much oxygen in the process. In fact, if the source of the flame is magic, does it consume oxygen? Would that be something we might know or reason out with an Arcana check, maybe?
>>
>>29752836
An arcana check would give you an idea for sure, you might even figure it out outright depending on how well you roll.

“Back me up guys I have a plan.”
>You shout as you banish the keyblade and rush the heartless as it struggles to move the lieutenant’s cold stiffened corpse.
>”Let’s see if this actually works in real life.”
>You mutter as you thrust your arm out towards the smoldering hole in the lieutenant’s shoulder and focus the entirety of your will on calling the keyblade back to you.
>”Photon Bomb!”
>You shout as the keyblade bursts back into existence with a brilliant flash of light, skewering the lieutenant’s shoulder and completely severing the arm from its socket.
>As the radiant wave of light washes over it the heartless clinging to the lieutenant’s armor physically recoils making a sound you haven’t heard it make before, A high pitched squeal as the black ooze comprising it’s body sizzles and smokes.
“Now guys, sweep the leg!”
>You shout back to the others as Dan and spike rush forward.
>Dan tees up with a golfswing at the lieutenant’s shin but manages to completely miss the mark causing the follow through on the heavy wrench to nearly send him sprawling off balance.
>Fortunately for Dan, thanks to the spectacle being put on by Spike, the angry little man is the only one who notices his failure.
>As Dan whiffs a low growl builds to a window rattling roar that bursts from spike’s mouth drawing everyone’s attention to him as the little dragon clothesline’s the lieutenant’s shins sending his body tumbling to the ground.
>but before you can congratulate the little dragon on his sweet moves the squeal coming from the heartless escalates to a deafening shriek as the black shapeless mass pulls itself free of the lieutenant’s body.
>The heartless doesn’t remain shapeless for long though as the goo twists into a crude four legged spider like from and goes scuttling up a wall towards a ventilation duct near the ceiling.
>>
>>29754921
>But before it can squeeze through the vent you here another whine from behind you followed by another lance of crimson light skewering the heartless sending it tumbling to the floor where it writhes and squirms like a roach on its back.
>”After what you did to the lieutenant you aren’t getting away that easily.”
>As he speaks you turn back and see Buzz lowering his arm, his jaw set in grim determination as he stares at the twitching heartless.
>You turn your attention back to the heartless and quickly flash back over what you’ve learned so far to try and find a way to take it down for good.
>Cold seems like it slows it down and it doesn’t seem to take kindly to light or heat, a fire spell might be just what you’re looking for.
>But that solution raises problems of its own.
>Buzz did say environmental control is out, what if setting off fire spells just burns up the oxygen you have left.
>you have a vague idea that since your fire is magical in nature it may not require oxygen to burn at all, but the topic didn’t exactly come up in twilight’s notes.
>Based on what you know about the nature of magic in general you should be able to make an educated guess but with the adrenaline pumping through your veins you can’t seem to string together a cohesive solution.
>Looks like I’ll just have to trust my instinct for now, you think to yourself as you tighten your grip on the keyblade and get ready for the next move from the heartless.

Moar updates after that fight probably?

Damn, hard to think of anything that will not slow down main game too much (i.e. "something that can be done at work"), and yet...

Maybe - for meta, sillyness and to be in spirit of KH games - design all keyblades that we've "missed" and would get for literally anything from thin air if that was a real game and we've started with a blade? For everything: beating Heap and Ponyville, helping Shy with puppies and totally a seeker of darkness Davenport with sales, saving Twi from unversed squad, catapulting parasprites with Ponka and etc? Or do a sidestory short in which everything went exactly as we all thought first and Ponka-Sora with keyblade would went on adventures to save her beloved Non-Kairi from jelly Twi-ku full of DARKNESS? Or awake Aqua's link within our keyblade just for everyones reaction in game to our change? Or just give players something in main game as a useful memento or ability\summon\drive\etc (put a joke about brand new medals in KHuX every time to celebrate every single event), probably not right in the middle of kicking that blob and not too meta itself

>Realistically speaking it probably doesn’t have any joints to begin with, you think to yourself as the heartless makes a thick burbling noise before launching itself at your face.
>The black wad of goo sailing through the air towards your dome drives a single impulse to the front of your mind as you grin and sidestep out of the path of clawing shadowy slime.
“Batter up!”
>You shout as, in one fluid motion, you raise the mysterious stranger and smack the ever-loving shit out of the heartless as it sails fruitlessly through the space your head used to be.
>As your keyblade collides with the non-Newtonian mass of the goopy heartless you send it flying on a line drive directly into a clear section of wall where it explodes on impact, splattering the wall with pitch black sludge, leaving a single squealing grapefruit sized wad of slime to slide down the wall and lay twitching on the floor.

>Buzz says as crushes the monster’s leg under a heavy armored boot, pinning it in place as he points his wrist at the thrashing heartless.
>”The only thing I can do now is make sure this abomination doesn’t harm anyone else.”
>Buzz’s simple eulogy is punctuated by a radiant beam of crimson skewering the heartless, burning away until nothing but a smoking scorch mark on the floor remains of the quivering black goo.
>Buzz takes his foot off the twitching leg and incinerates it as well before walking over to the fallen body of Lieutenant Dallas.
>The space ranger kneels before the Lieutenant’s remains and sets his head at a more natural angle before gently closing his eyes.
>”You were a credit to the force Corbin, rest well.”
>Buzz says somberly before standing to turn and face the three of you.
>”I can’t allow these things to do this to everyone I’ve sworn to lead and protect.”
>Buzz walks towards you as he talks but before he reaches you the space ranger hesitates.
>As though whatever he has to say next is so difficult for him to ask that he can’t manage the effort required to keep walking.
>”It is… with no small amount of shame that I ask this, but as much as I hate the Idea of putting civilians in harm’s way I can’t do this on my own.”
>Buzz says as he looks away from you and walks over to the command console, slamming his hands down as he leans over it.
> “Please, help me save the Infinity.”

>”With internal communications down there will be too much interference from the station itself for my personal comm system to reach woody on the security level, but If we reactivate external communications we should be able to make a connection and check on your friend.”

>”Where should we go first gentlemen?”

I feel torn between External Communications and the Medbay. If we do the Comms first, it'll give Woody and Rarara more time to reach us. On the other hand, we have 1 slightly used Aspirin bottle to split between 4 people. Getting supplies seems more imperative at this point.
>>
Quite frankly, our first choice should be getting external coms back up to check on Rarity and Woody. Having the whole party will make the supply runs and various other excursions much easier. Also the longer we wait, the more difficult the fight to get them is going to be longer.

Can we perform a quick arcane check just get the fire conundrum out of the way? Logically fire needs a source to burn from like wood or fibers, so naturally the presence of magical fire would mean it inherently feeds on magical energy. A dense mass of magic would be similar a ball of yarn set ablaze, a steady stream of magic would produce would be similar to spraying gas in a general direction or creating a quick intense blaze similar to burning paper.

Tried to take these ideas and run with them a little, sorry they're on notebook paper.

I wasn't really thinking when I drew the junkyard one, the guard should probably be angled so it's parallel to the magnet, rather than perpendicular.

Probably should have made the spikes on the dog collar shorter, also I shamelessly stole the fire hydrant grip idea.

I can never figure out what to do for magic blade ideas that don't just have every element glued on somewhere.

>>29759367
Might attempt a couple others based on the parasprite fight and Davenport being the ultimate evil for no reason. I have no idea how to turn a quill and heavy furniture into a weapon though.

See I had this idea for the triple threat where the blade itself was made of ice the guard lightning and the grip fire with an unversed symbol for the bit. I just couldn't get it to look right.

so it looks like you're still kind of split on the med-bay vs comms as your starting point. If we don't have a tie breaker in the next twenty minutes or so I'll have anon leave the decision to Spike Dan and Buzz so i can get going for the night.
>>
>>29764925
I'll drop my Medbay vote for Comms, then. Here's hoping the Aspirin can handle us for at least two fights.
>>
>>29765014
Seconded, comms to get a feel for the urgency of reaching Rares and let her know we're here and on the way to her, if she and Woody can hold out.
>>
>>29764925
Don't we still have that breakfast burrito on us from earlier?
>>
>>29765534
Yeah but it's several hours old by now and preserved by nothing but its foil wrapping. Don't know how useful it will be.
>>
So on the way down to comms i belive you wanted to
A. Figure out the status of fire spells.
and perhaps
B.Check on spike and make sure he's doing okay.
>>
>>29760397
“I think the first thing we ought to do is get some semblance of communication up so we can get in contact with the security level and see how Woody and Rarity are holding out. With any luck we might be able to start coordinating with them to take back the station.”
>You say looking to Dan and Spike for input.
>”I was thinking we should hit the med-bay first. Sure getting in contact with the security chief might be helpful but it’s not as immediately useful as something that will put us back together after one of these things slices us open.”
>Dan says as he drums his fingers on his wrench.
“Duely noted, Spike?”
>The little dragon stares at the floor as he shuffles awkwardly for a few seconds before responding.
>”I think we should go to the comms center first. I want to make sure Rarity is okay.”
>Spike says, his voice descending into a mumble as he reaches his justification.
>”Oh come on a few minutes to grab something that might save our asses should take priority here!”
>Dan protests, trying to win you over sensing he’s about to be out voted.
>But Buzz replies before you get a chance to tell the angry little man to stuff it.
>”If the little man wants to make the noble decision to put the lives of others before his own that’s his prerogative, and it’s one I can get behind.”
>Dan grits his teeth before throwing up his arms in frustration.
>”Graaaaah Fine! But I reserve the right to gloat if any of this goes wrong.”
>”Fair enough.”
>Buzz nods as he makes his way over to the access hatch and slides it open.
>”Now then if we’re all in agreement, daylight is burning.”
>He says as he ducks into the chute and begins gliding back down to the communications level.
>Dan groans but swiftly follow suit leaving you alone on the bridge with spike.
“Hey Spike while we’ve got a second I wanted to ask, How are you holding up?”
>You ask hanging back for a few seconds before the two of drop into the access tunnel.
>>
>>29766877
>”I-I’m fine, you don’t need to worry about me all the time.”
>Spike replies, actively avoiding your gaze as you glide down towards the communications level.
“Look, I’m not trying to look down on you or anything. It’s just that we’ve kind of been thrown into the deep end here and I want to make sure you’re keeping your head above water.”
>You pause unsure of how to express yourself as Spike continues to stare down the shaft to avoid looking you in the eye.
“If you say you’re fine I believe you little guy, but I just want you to know I’m here for you if it all starts getting overwhelming.”
>You say as you pat the little dragon on the back sending the two of you drifting towards the walls of the shaft forcing an involuntary chuckle out of Spike as he pushes off the wall back to the center.
>”Thanks big guy I’ll keep that in mind.”
>He says finally willing to meet your gaze again as he looks your way and smiles.
>And yet, there’s a hint of sadness behind that smile and you can’t help but feel like Spike is still troubled about something.
>It isn’t hard to see that that something is most likely Rarity and the question of her safety, but you don’t want to force the little dragon on the issue.
>Hopefully reminding him you have his back will be enough to set him at ease till you can confirm Rarity’s safety.
>As you’re thinking that a green and white gauntlet snagging you by the collar and pulling you out of the access shaft pulls you out of your reverie.
>”Sorry about that Anonymous but you almost cruised right by us.”
>Buzz says turning to catch spike as you thump to the hallway floor.
>Looking around you can see the pried open turbolift car the four of you emerged from after waking up and the same poorly lit sludge caked hallway that initially greeted you.
>”Ugh, thanks Buzz.”
>Spike groans as he tumbles to the floor next to you after Buzz tosses him from the lift.
>>
>>29766885
>”Now then, Communications should be just down this hall.”
>Buzz says as he taps the sigil on his chest and the green sections of his armor illuminate with a pale glow cutting through the gloom.
>Under the new light something becomes apparent that wasn’t immediately obvious after your first inspection.
>The black residue coating the hallway has grown since your last visit hiding more and more of the formerly glossy white interior.
>But perhaps more concerning is the increased amount of black particulate filling the air.
>”I can’t help but think breathing that in would be a bad idea.”
>Dan says as he pulls his shirt up over his mouth.
“I can’t help but think you might be right.”
>You say following suit as you pull up your undershirt over your mouth and pass spike your necktie to use as a makeshift bandana.
>Buzz meanwhile presses a button on his armor and a clear glass dome snaps up over his head before his voice crackles out of a speaker on his breastplate.
>”Let me go first, my suit should at least be able to tell if it’s safe for you to follow.”
>Buzz says as he walks a few feet down the hall through the slime before turning back.
>”Sorry guys, my suit can’t tell what it is but it definitely seems harmful. without better filters or a means of clearing the particulate we’re going to have to find another way around.”
>Buzz says regretfully as he returns to the three of you.
>You’re about to ask buzz to bring up the map so the three of you can plot an alternate route but a thought occurs to you.
>You never did figure out if your magical fire interacts with the environment like a normal flame does.
>If it did you could use it to burn a way through.
>You pull out Twilight’s notes and check them against everything you remember studying magic as a whole with the purple book horse.
>Now that you aren’t busy fighting for your life the answer comes to you easily.
>>
>>29766896
>Magic is a fundamental force of the universe, and while you can manipulate it to create fire and even call on raw mana to serve as fuel like one might employ wood or coal, you can’t use magic to change the fundamental nature of what fire is.
>At least, not at your skill level.
>And so as much as you may be able to fuel your fire with magic you can’t change the fact that it’s a reaction that requires oxygen in order to take place.
>Which means that if the environmental systems are down using fire magic might be a bad Idea.
“Hey Buzz, by any chance were you able to tell if life support was still operational when we were on the bridge?”
>Your heart sinks as the space ranger shakes his head.
>”Negative, the sensors weren’t able to tell me anything on life support beyond initial damage reports stating it wasn’t damaged in the impact.”
>”So you’re saying it’s probably still online?”
>Dan asks and you feel a twinge of hope but Buzz shakes his head again.
>”I can’t say for sure but the fact that this particulate is accumulating at all doesn’t bode well.”
>Buzz says gesturing down the hallway before popping open his wrist panel to get at his personal computer’s display.
>”And there’s another thing. I didn’t want to mention it before I was certain, but now that we’re on the subject I feel like it bears mentioning. I’ve been noting a small decline in oxygen levels ever since we first got out of the turbo lift. It’s not major but it’s definitely there.”
>”Fuck!”
>Dan shouts punching a wall as you turn to ask buzz a question.
“I think I might be able to clear us a path, but it involves lighting a fire and I don’t want to burn through all our oxygen. How much of a problem would a fire cause for us?
>>
>>29766913
>Buzz thinks for a second before responding.
>”I don’t think the rare fire would cause too much of a problem. Even if atmospheric scrubbing is down there’s a lot of air on the station and we would have several hours before things started to get bad. One or two fires wouldn’t make much difference.”
>”But that’s provided the ventilation system isn’t obstructed somewhere. If we end up in an enclosed space where we can’t readily get fresh air I’d say have to advise you hold off on the fires.”
>You nod as you look down the blocked toxic hallway.
“So if we can’t get through this way what are our other options?”
>You ask and Buzz wracks his brain trying to figure out an alternative path.
>”Well we could head for medical, they should have some oxygen masks that will get you through no problem.”
>Buzz says pointing to the opposite end of the hall which is still clear of the black growth and hazy cloud of particulate.
>”Or we could take a detour through deep space telemetry. It’s a subsection of the communications deck that has separate access to the primary comms array. It may not be as fast as going straight there, but it should get us there faster than heading all the way to medical and doubling back.”
>Buzz says pointing to a clear branching hallway that forks just before the edge of the slime’s foothold.

>What do you want to do?
A. Burn your way through
B. Change plans and head to medical first
C. Take a detour through DST and press on to the communications array
>>
>>29766926
I say head through DST and get comms back online before heading over to medical for supplies. And avoid using Fire for anything, since we've got Spike's somewhat more controllable flame breath and Buzz's laser to rely on until we can figure out what's going on with life support.
>>
>>29766926
Medical would make Dan gloat hard, but anything else's worth more than suffocating. There's also the undiscussed issue of the growth spreading, which could lead to more trouble down the line.

I agree that Fire's probably not worth the worry of wasting oxygen, unless we want to be surgically meticulous and slow with it, which we probably don't have time for.

DST looks to be our safest bet, since that'll take less time and at least get the one thing on this side done with. The only real problem is the growth getting into DST after we make it to the comms, which would require us to burn it without the oxygen masks in Medical.
>>
>>29766926
Light the bitch up, or take the detour through DST.
Spike's on tilt and could potentially get worse, the longer we put off getting to Dress-horse.
Rarity's our friend and given the kind of enemy we're facing here, I greatly dislike leaving her alone, despite how capable she might be.

My only worry is that given how quickly that first little shit went for the vents to escape, makes me think that they might be using it for traveling and/or causing it to clog.
>>
>>29766926
One more for DST, let's try to get through this with as little asphyxiation as possible. Comms are still out first goal, Aspirin should probably get us through at least that much before we have to get to the medbay.
>>
So are we in the Movie or TV version of Star Command?
>>
>>29767408
>>29767459
>>29767537
>>29768363
Looks like we're leaning pretty unanimously towards a trip through deep space telemetry. I'll get started on that path shortly.
>>
>>29769074
I kinda want to see what happens with the fire but I'm pretty clearly out voted here.
>>
>>29769646
You might get your chance if the growth blocks out exit route, like I'm partially worrying will happen.
>>
>>29769701
so what kind of shit do you all think is waiting for us in deep space telemetry. Because it's obviously not just going to be a walk in the space park to our destination.
>>
>>29769916
Assuming the Necrotic Ooze from before caught any other victims, I could see that popping up. As seen with AUTO, the Heartless can also infect machinery, so we might see more of those.
>>
>>29770135
After the way it went straight for the face I'm kind of worried that we might be seeing facehugger variants on the necrotic ooze.
>>
>>29769916
The Ooze seems to be parasitic, so I'm betting against machine infection, personally. That doesn't mean, though, that we won't see some darkness-amalgamated enemies. I'm betting on something glass cannon caster-y in Telemetry though, physically frail but with tough defenses. Then again, there might not be a fight at all, it might be something more puzzle-like.
>>
So, ultimately, what's our further plan? Probably best to think of some stuff to do directly after this work quick and efficiently to put this place back together. I'm thinking something along the lines of;

1. Get comms up
2. Obtain Rarara, new party member get
3. Access medical to prepare for further conflict.
4. See what's up with life support
5. ???
6. Move on from there / profit.
>>
>>29771998
Point 2 is gonna be under Medical, at least. Life Support and Engineering should be targeted hopefully before we all meet up.
>>
>>29772170
>>29771998
Unfortunately, our plan is going to need to change as circumstances arise. Getting to Rarity is definitely top priority, but depending on how fast the oxygen depletes and how dangerous the route to her is, we might need to divert to the armory and/or environmental. And the urgency of rescuing our marshmallow friend will also determine how many side stops we can afford to make on our way to her.

That said, if Rarity is okay with her and Woody holding off any threats for a while, I'd say medical, armory, Rara, then life support. All ultimately dependent on the sitrep though.

You summon the keyblade and look at it for a moment, feeling the magic at your fingertips that would allow you to hurry on to your destination.
>And yet you can’t help but feel like cutting loose with your flames won’t end well for you.
“I’m not really feeling too good about testing our luck with burning our way through.”
>You say as you dismiss your keyblade once more and make your way over to the corridor leading off to deep space telemetry.
“It may take us a little longer but at least we can be confident we won’t suffocate.”
>You say as Buzz nods in agreement and he and Spike follow you down the corridor.
>”Doubling down on the communications array when we have a perfectly good reason to hit medical first. Real smart decision there Einstein.”
>Dan says, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he follows the three of you down the gloomy hallway.
>As you make your way down the corridor you eventually begin to encounter the odd patch of black sludge smeared along the walls or splattered across the floor.
>”If we get hit with another roadblock can we just turn around and go to the med-bay?”
>Dan asks as he sidesteps a puddle on the floor.
>”It’s beginning to look like we just weren’t meant to get to the communications level.”
>He says as he eyes a trail of black slime on the wall suspiciously.
“Don’t be such a baby, Buzz would say something if the air stated getting un-breathable.”
>You say looking to the space ranger for confirmation.
>Buzz shoots you thumbs up in return.
>”Whatever this stuff is it hasn’t spread enough to contaminate the air.”
>Buzz says as he wipes some of the slime off the wall with an armored finger.
>”That’s if this stuff is even responsible for the contamination we encountered in the first place.”
>He muses to himself as he pops open the panel on his wrist and holds his sample over a scanner only to be met with a pair of short staccato buzzes.

>”No good. I had hoped I might have more luck with a more concentrated sample but my suit’s computer still can’t determine its composition.”
>Buzz says with a sigh as he flicks the goo off his armor.
>The four of pass the next few minutes in silence passing doors leading to various sub-functions of the communications deck before you finally reach a large door marked Deep Space Telemetry at the end of the hall.
>The black ooze that has been growing increasingly common as you made your way down the hall coats its frame but the door still swooshes open without any difficulty.
>”Son of a bitch.”
>Dan grumbles under his breath as the four of you make your way through the door and a greeted by a massive window spanning the section giving you a breathtaking view of the star-studded void beyond.
>”Okay that’s pretty radical.”
>Dan admits begrudgingly as he stops at the entrance to the room with the universe stretched out before him.
>”Guys I think we’ve got trouble.”
>Dan’s quiet appreciation of the stars is interrupted as Spike breaks the silence and points to someone sprawled on the ground near the bay window.
>Dan ambles off in his own direction as the three of you rush over and find a man in an engineer’s jumpsuit in a crumpled heap on the floor and as Buzz rolls him over you discover a shiny black substance coating his face and wrapped around the back of his head.
>”He’s got a pulse.”
>Buzz says as he presses a couple of fingers to the man’s neck.
>”What is that on his face?”
>Spike asks disgusted as he points to the shiny black shell that seems to have formed there.
“I’d almost say it looks like some that heartless goop dried there.”
>You say as Buzz reaches up and tries to slip his fingers under the congealed shell.
>>
>>29772619
>Surprisingly the material proves to be brittle and crumbles easily as the space ranger pulls at it, and in a matter of seconds the man is free of the black crust that had imprisoned him.
>As soon as he’s free the man begins to cough and sputter, hacking up flecks of black slime as he gasps for air.
>”I know you guys are busy with this random fucko but are any of you planning to ask about this?”
>Dan asks from a few feet away pointing to a section of console with a hole smashed through it.
>”I mean it kind of seems like it might be important.”
>Buzz looks up and sees the destroyed console, sections of it still smoking and releasing the occasional shower of sparks.
>”I’m sure it is, but this man’s life is at stake and I’m sure he can shed some light on the situation.”
>Buzz says before returning his attention to the engineer as he regains consciousness.
>”Take it easy son we’ve got you.”
>Buzz says as the engineer’s eyes open groggily and his vision slowly pulls back into focus.
>”Lightyear!”
>The engineer shouts his body tensing for a moment as he sees the space ranger looming over him.
>”I mean, commander Lightyear, what are you doing down here? Shouldn’t you be dealing with the collision from the bridge?”
>The engineer says as calms down and pulls himself to his feet dusting off his jumpsuit.
>”Unfortunately the damage was too extensive for that option, but never mind that, what happened to you?”
>”Yeah how did you get this stuck to your face?”
>Spike asks holding up a few crumbling black chunks.
>”More importantly how did this happen?”
>Dan asks folding his arms across his chest as he jerks his head towards the destroyed control panel.
>>
>>29772657
>”Well… the last thing I remember was this…thing leaping at me from one of the shadowy corners of the room. It grabbed me and I remember not being able to breath and this burning sensation in my lungs before I finally passed out.”
>”Yeah that’s nice but what about the console.”
>Dan growls as he angrily jabs at the wrecked console.
>”Take it easy there I’m sure it just got damaged after he lost consciousness, one of those things must have gotten to it.”
>Buzz says holding up his hands trying to calm Dan down.
>”Yeah, the thing that attacked me must have done it!”
>The engineer says excitedly as he latches onto buzz’s explanation.
>He certainly jumped at that. You think to yourself cocking an eyebrow at the engineer’s unusual behavior before shooting a glance at Dan.
>Dan meanwhile is staring daggers at this engineer.
>Clearly you aren’t alone in finding his behavior unusual.
>Buzz and spike however don’t seem to find anything amiss.
>”Well you’re safe with us son, just stay close till we find a shelter where you can wait this thing out.”
>Buzz says as he crosses the room towards a door that reads External Communications.
>“Uh, no problem commander, just give me a second to get my sea legs.”
>The engineer replies as he leans on one of the intact consoles.
>”No problem son, we need to deal with the obstruction on this door anyway.”
>>
>>29772670
>Buzz says as he crouches to examine the slime covered keypad preventing him from opening the door.
>”What do you need with the communications array anyway?”
>He asks as you walk over to help Buzz figure out a way through the door.
>”Well we need to use it to reach the security deck and start coordinating securing the ship. Not to mention getting communications back up should let us send out a distress beacon to star command.”
>Buzz explains before turning to you.
>”Do you think you could do another one of those blizzards? Maybe we can freeze it off the keyp-.”
>”Aghh son of a bitch!”
>You hear the engineer shout as Buzz’s inquiry is interrupted by a yellow ball of plasma hissing over his head and splashing across the locked door leaving behind an ugly black scorch mark.
>You turn around to see the engineer clutching his hand as Dan stands between him and the three of you gripping his wrench.
>”I knew this fucker was up to something, he just tried to blow Buzz away!”
>Dan shouts as he points to a pistol with three gleaming barrels, the topmost one still smoking from the recent discharge as it skitters to a halt on the floor.
>”I won’t let you ruin Emperor Zurg’s plans for this station.”
>The engineer spits as he makes a dive for the plasma pistol, tucking and rolling as he snatches his weapon off the floor and turns to face the four of you.

>superiority dice

Could you explain what that is?

Also, I'd start with a Thunder Bulwark for Dan, considering how he has to be close to hit the Agent.
>>
>>29772780
It's the fighter's resource system in 5th edition. I've been doing some thinking about spike and having mana exclusively for his lance and how it doesn't really fit with his role as fighter.

For the purposes of this game superiority dice are a resource you spend to use Spike's special moves like cleave and rocket charge and will allow you to add a d8 to your damage roll when using one of these special abilities. These dice regenerate automatically after a short rest and can be restored by items like ethers and elixirs.

To clarify this also means that spike's cleave is no longer limited to when he kills an enemy.
>>
>>29772780
Spike is in the same boat, but I agree with a bulwark for Dan, he's squishier.

>>29772874
In reading the description for Superiority dice, I'm kind of confused, can Spike still do reasonable things like trying to disarm someone without spending a die? Either way, getting that gun out of the agent's hand and into Dan's should probably be top priority.

Dan, for this turn, might just want to do as much damage as his wrench will allow, preferably to this dude's head. He seems like he can be reasoned with, so I'm thinking once we rough him up some we might be able to strike a deal where he doesn't get the everloving shit kicked out of him in exchange for the scoop on what Zurg's trying to do.
>>
>>29773002
Anyone can try and disarm an enemy, it's going to come down to an opposed strength or dexterity check as you try and take the weapon. What's different about disarming strike and superiority dice is that not only are you more likely to disarm your target, you deal damage while doing it.
>>
>>29773002
This. He likely has info about what's going on, so let's get him to drop his gun again.

I remember Spike having some sort of bonus to stealth on his character sheet. If that's true, maybe he will have an easier time disarming this guy.
>>
>>29773063
As a rule for stealth, if the enemy doesn't notice you you have advantage on whatever action you try to do. So if you spend a turn having spike sneak out of sight you'd have advantage on your disarm attempt next turn. That said your stealth bonus wouldn't apply to just trying to take the gun right now.
>>
>>29773063
Disarming him is all well and good but I think we're all missing the real question here. Who gets the gun once we confiscate it?
>>
>>29773316
Since Dan is at least armed lets hit spike up with the blaster
>>
>>29773727
>Give a space blaster not to "engineer" or man who knows how they works but to a small kiddo without experience of holding guns and from a world without such things and all (literal medieval cannon of Ponka aside) because magic, why you even need guns. Also recoil

I'm not really sure about that...
>>
Use of a superiority die to deal damage on the agent and disarm him so Dan has a cool Laser Pistol sounds like the best course of action.
>>
>>29773951
I think I can get behind that plan. What do we want buzz to do in the meantime? I assume we don't want him to blow an arm off like the lieutenant, so maybe a low intensity laser shot. Or maybe some kind of persuasion check to get this dude to stand down?

More keyblades that nobody asked for. I'm actually way more proud of how the Davenport one came out, should be colored in true edgelord black and red but I lack any crayons to scribble on my drawings with. Also I know it's a chair and not a sofa, but I couldn't come up with a way to make a sofa-blade look intimidating.

I can't really come up with a good way to jam instruments together into a key shape while also incorporating the parasprites and also baked goods. I suppose you could make the"staff" of the clef the blade and make the swirl and a bass clef into the guard, maybe use the parasprite jaws as the bit, but it still feels glued together rather than a cohesive weapon.

>”You don’t want to do that son, I know the lies Zurg has been feeding you but his crusade against the galaxy isn’t worth dying over. Just put the pistol down and we’ll see to it that you survive this crisis and are treated humanely when we restore order to the station.”
>Buzz says putting his hands up in a gesture of good faith as he tries to talk the spy down.
>But even as an outsider you can tell that Buzzes words sound like they came directly out of some field manual and the spy certainly doesn’t seem to be buying into it.
>”Yeah and I’ll bet every Zurgian citizen who’s heard that line is still humanely rotting in a prison cell somewhere.”
>The infiltrator sneers as he takes aim at Buzz and squeezes the trigger on his plasma pistol.
>Buzz dives out of the way as an ear splitting boom erupts from the pistol, but the bolt of plasma never comes.
>Instead what follows is a scream tearing from the throat of the infiltrator as plasma backwash sears his hand and the barrel of his pistol explodes, leaving it a mangled mass of twisted metal.
>Amazingly though the infiltrator manages to hold onto the gun, though you suspect that it may be because his glove has melted to the grip.
>”Oh shit, I’m not so sure I want that gun anymore guys.”
>Dan says as spike charges forward, bounding up onto a nearby chair before leaping off and delivering a devastating haymaker directly to the back of the infiltrator’s incinerated hand.
>The man howls in agony as the warped gun tears free of his grip and goes skittering across the floor.
>>
>>29778764
>This looks pretty wrapped up, but just in case the spy has something else up his sleeve you call on the keyblade and shoot a bolt of electricity Dan’s way.
>The bolt blossoms on impact into the familiar protective electrostatic field of a thunder bulwark as the angry little man walks over to the infiltrator.
>”Jesus spike you didn’t need to go for the burned hand.”
>Dan says as his wrench collides squarely with the spy’s ribcage.
>”Me? What about you? You’re the one hitting him with a wrench!”
>Spike shouts flabbergasted as the spy crumples to the ground.
>”Yeah, but he was resisting arrest.”
>Dan says leaving Spike at a loss for words as the little dragon sputters angrily.
>”Okay that’s enough.”
>Buzz says as he gets up from behind his impromptu cover and walks over to where Dan and Spike are arguing.
>”I don’t think he’s going to be doing much resisting anymore.”
>The space range says as he steps between the two breaking up the fight before it can really start.
>”Now then, that offer of humane treatment is still open, we can even get that hand of yours taken care of.”
>Buzz says to the Infiltrator as he staggers to his feet and spits at the four of you with hate in his eyes.
>”I’ll never surrender to Star Command’s dogs.”
>He sneers as he pulls a knife from his jumpsuit that begins emitting a high pitched hum as he flips a switch on the hilt.

I don't think it'd be wise to clash with the Vibroknife, unless the wrench has cortosis weave it'll probably be cleaved in two.

Defensive mode on Dan and Spike would do us well, with Anon doing another Bulwark on Spike and Buzz shooting his knife hand to hopefully disarm him.

Unless that'll actually dis-arm him, in which case, maybe try out that wing-eject attack.
>>
>>29778895
I think we might be able to set buzz's phaser to stun but I'm game for the wing plan. sounds more fun.

This dude is just not having a good day. I'd say now is the time for some ranged fun, Blizzard his ass and let Buzz try to disarm the knife. Dan and Spike should probably be on defense, maybe reposition so they get an attack of opportunity if he tries to charge Buzz or Anon. If we manage to disarm him though, might as well just dogpile him.

>>29779392
Does this mean the short charge, or Buzz's bonus wing opening attack? Or both? The charge actually might let Buzz disarm this schmuck easier what with the bonus it gives.

Does Buzz's suit have a button we can hit to make him melee involuntarily? Or is that only in the toy version?

It is indeed on his suit

Dumb combo ideas:

Falling with Style
>Buzz scoops up Spike and launches skyward, dropping him at the apex of his launch, before diving for a point behind the enemy. Spike kicks on his lance and shoots at the enemy, pulling up so that all the momentum pointed down turns into a hyper-accelerated forward charge, shoving them on a collision course with Buzz's own flight path, the force of their meeting driving the enemy onto the lance's point.

No One Can Hear You Scream
>Dan charges straight at the enemy, swinging wildly as Buzz fires a series of trick shots around the room. Each shot ricochets off of Dan's wrench, the blasts aimed at disarming or immobilizing the enemy, before Dan's swing finally connects, the force (and probably location) of the blow stunning the enemy.

Set Phasers to Overkill
>Anon and Buzz stand side by side, keyblade and gauntlet pointed in tandem at each enemy as Buzz shoots lasers while Anon fires lightning bolts. For the final target, Anon instead overcharges Buzz's capacitors, allowing them to fire a massive blast of energy (or maybe a continuous stream of light as opposed to discrete bursts?)

I dunno, just some ideas to work off of.

>”Once I take care of the knife Get ready to restr-“
>Buzz’s attempts to coordinate with the three of you are cut short as the Zurg spy lunges at the space ranger stabbing him in the stomach.
>The high frequency blade slips through Buzz’s suit like butter and the knife’s high pitched whine pitches down into a low buzzing sound as it’s restrained by the suit.
>”Sorry, what was it you were going to take care of again you fascist pig?”
>The infiltrator sneers before trying to twist the blade only to fail as the armor holds the humming knife in place.
>”I’m taking care of you !”
>Buzz shouts as he pops his clear domed helmet into place and bashes the Infiltrator in the nose with a well-timed head-butt.
>Just as the glass dome smashes into the bridge of the spy’s nose Buzz grabs the Infiltrator’s wrist and twists it, forcing him to lose his grip on the blade as he goes stumbling backwards and collides with the ruined instrument panel.
>”What do you think you’re doing?”

>The Agent has turned into a Necromoprh like the Lieutenant.

So is there a way to taser the guy? Since we haven't used shock spells on the ooze, I'm hoping that it won't like being zapped. Also if that dosen't work well, maybe we could try using the vibroknife to see if sonic damage strongly effects it in anyway.

Dank, bro. Is it going to have everyone in it, as we start finding them? Regardless, I think that's going to be amazing when it's done.

>>29787736
I'm beginning to get an idea about this stuff, but if I'm right there's nothing we can do to stop this dude short of kicking the literal crud out of him. Seems like last time we just beat up its shell until it left, or maybe the light from Photon Bomb scared it out? I'd say we should try a physical attack this time, maybe empowered with Thunder. Aim for the Heartless symbol, that's presumably part of the creature itself.

I think these things might be parasites in the traditional sense, where they feed off of negative emotions; when we get to the med bay, we should grab some sedatives and see if putting someone unconscious is enough to draw the Necromorph out. I also kind of wonder if we can figure out a way to, through magic or keyblade techniques, forcibly extract it?

It sucks to say, but I think we need to freeze this guy solid and let Buzz melt through it's head or have Dan shatter it. Hell, why not both?

Why not freeze the legs and have Buzz shoot a non-damage laser into the wound Spike made? The Necrotic Ooze left after we did the Photon Bomb iirc.

Even if they're beyond saving, we owe it to Buzz to try. If nothing else, finding a way to excise the Necro's will be valuable in killing them faster. If we can catch it early, though, we might be able to actually save folks.

Just conjecture here, but the photon bomb seemed to really affect it strongly; could we try to do something that's light-based but doesn't require a puncture wound to use? Maybe for example a FFT-style Samurai Sword Draw just like in my Malaysian pictographs? I'm not sure what determines what attacks are granted light attributes, but summoning and desummoning attacks seem to be the most likely ones so far.

speaking of spike and his vibroblade, is it coincidental or intentional that the one using the high frequency hyper sharp knife happens to be purple and green?

"Even if this dude is proper fucked, he wasn't before the thing inside him assumed direct control. We owe it to any survivors to keep them from ending up like this, and step one is evicting the bug from this asshole!"
>Dan pinches the bridge of his nose as he bounces his wrench on his shoulder.
>”Ugh fine but don’t come bitching to me when it turns one of us into mincemeat or opens Buzz up like a can of soup.”
>As if on cue the Necroheart lunges at Spike just as Dan finishes groaning his response.
>”What was I just fucking saying!”
>Dan shouts as one of the monster’s jet black claws whistle through the air only for high pitched screeching noise to fill the room as Spike catches it inches from his face with the former spy’s own vibroblade.
>”Don’t worry guys I’m okay!”
>Buzz’s face falls as Spike shouts over the high pitched whine of the obsidian claw pressing against his blade.
>”What gives space man, are you bummed Spike is still alive or something?”
>Buzz only shakes his head concerned at the angry manlet’s accusation.
>”That blade cuts at a mono molecular level, at that speed it shouldn’t have just stopped the claw, it should have cleaved it clean off. Be careful over there spike, those things are sturdier than they look.”
>Buzz calls out to the little dragon as he ducks under the claw and draws back his knife to take another swipe at the heartless.
>He swings the blade at the monster’s legs trying to incapacitate it as he rolls by, but another brief high pitched whine fills the air as the heartless deflects the blade with one of its claws.
“Don’t worry little guy, I’ll put him on Ice!”
>You shout as you draw upon your magic and compress it into a targeted blast of howling ice that freezes the beast’s legs solid.
“Stay there and cool your heels for a while.”
>You say with a shit eating grin as the sound of Buzz’s suit charging begins to fill the room.

>”Based on our encounter with Lieutenant Dallas these things seem to hate the light.”
>Buzz mutters as he taps away furiously at his keypad before it finally lets out a chime and a soothing female voice says.
>(Laser calibration complete)
>”You may want to cover your eyes boys.”
>Buzz says, his normally bright red laser emitter shining with a brilliant pure white light as he raises his arm.”
>”Let’s see you try this on for size.”
>Buzz says as a blinding light fills the room and the sudden radiance begins burning away at the black mass on the spy’s chest.
“Jesus Buzz! What happened to taking him in alive!”
>You shout as you open your eyes expecting to see a hole blown in the spy’s torso.
>But to your shock as the your vision clears you find the man’s chest is unfazed as the black sludge continues to smolder and flake away before the embers burning away at its mass finally flicker out.
>”He's fine, I just recalibrated my laser emitter to trade focus for brightness.”
>Buzz says behind a silvery dome, his helmet having automatically thrown up a polarized blast shield to protect him from the sudden burst of light.
>”Well you sure as hell put some kind of dent in it.”
>Dan says as he looks over at the stunned heartless as blackened charred ash falls from its chest to the floor.
>And better yet the flash seemed to blow away the wickedly keen geometry of the monster’s left claw leaving it a near useless pockmarked hook.
>”Which makes this the perfect time to press the advantage!”
>Dan shouts as he swings his mace at the monster’s head only to be stymied by a sudden flash of movement at the last second.
>By the time you all realize what’s happened the heartless is standing there with Dan’s wrench caught on its intact claw.
>As Dan looks up he cans see the cruel edge digging a deep gash in the wrench’s steel, the head nearly cleaved clean off.
>”Well son of a bitch... guess I’m going to need a new wrench.”

Anon 35/42 HP 31 MP
Spike 50/50 HP 3 superiority dice.
Dan 40/40 HP bulwark 2/10
Buzz 39/59 HP suit power cells 63%
Former Zurg Agent 0/60 HP

Your whole bright lights plan looks like it worked pretty well. unfortunately it eats through buzz's battery like a motherfucker.
>>
>>29808880
Is the Ooze out of the Agent, or did it crawl back in?
>>
>>29808904
It has yet to leave but it does look like its barely maintaining control.
>>
>>29808922
This honestly seems like a solid plan, since the body still can't with the frozen legs. It'll neuter Buzz's combat abilities later, but let's keep at it.

Spike should also give the Vibroknife to Dan when he can, with everyone else backing up defensively.
>>
>>29808958
You do realize spike is infinitely better placed on the front lines than Dan right? Really Dan should be picking up the plasma pistol and trying to salvage it.
>>
>>29809137
The thing honest-to-god exploded and melted a protected glove enough to make burns. I think Dan's the last person who would want to touch that thing.

Plus, I was considering the knife for Dan since right now Dan has zero weapons and Spike still has his Junk Lance in the car, as well as his fists.
>>
>>29808958
Sounds like it won't take much more to force the ooze out, so having Buzz use his high beams again would be kind of wasteful when a Photon Bomb would likely do the trick.

>>29809174
To be fair, Dan also has his fists. Though we can try to find something around us he can use as a blunt weapon.

I like the idea of Dan trying to fix the plasma pistol, but he likely won't get very far without tools to work with.
>>
Any chance in shocking the ooze directly? I just want to see if lightining is nearly as effective as fire on that thing, since running out of oxygen "might" be a thing in the far off future.
>>
>>29809490
My only worry about the Photon Bomb is that we might bisect the Agent if we aren't surgically precise, like with Dallas's arm.
>>
>>29809507
That only did as much damage because there was an open hole to exploit. I don't think we'll be able to do much more than flash this guy with a P-Bomb
>>
>>29809710
This is about experimenting as well. Fine, I'll swap my laser vote to Photon Bomb. Gonna be pretty rustled if we went through all this trouble just to kill the Agent at the end.
>>
You know, at the moment, even though Dan has no weapons, the vibroknife is definitely better with Spike because he's the one made to be on the front lines. Perhaps we could have Dan running our Investigation checks for us until we get him a (hopefully ranged) weapon from the armory. Or find one, whatever.
>>
>>29810408
You know it occours to me that even if we don't find a new weapon we'll probably be able to restore the plasma pistol to working order if not repair it outright once we hit the armory or engineering.

>”You’re going to have to do better than that to get the drop on me.”
>Dan says with a smirk as he flips the heartless the bird.
>”And he’s not really the one you need to worry about!”
>Spike shouts from behind the heartless as he charges past it back towards the group slashing at it with the vibroblade as he goes.
>With the monster’s attention on Dan the little dragon has no trouble leaving a gash in the agent’s leg as he rejoins you.
>The heartless lets loose with a gurgling roar as it strains against the ice to try and reach Spike but its frigid prison holds fast.
>As the heartless thrashes around using the spy’s body you banish your keyblade and rush forward.
“I think you’ve overstayed your welcome!”
>You shout as you reach out towards the heartless and reach out to your keyblade and channel a burst of mana through it as it snaps into existence, unleashing a blinding flash of light that cascades across the inky black slime coating the spy’s chest.
>The ooze lets out an unnaturally shrill shriek and falls from the spy, his body thrashing as more of the stygian sludge pours from his mouth and splatters on the ground before coalescing into a familiar Necrotic Ooze.
“Buzz finish it off!”
>You shout as the heartless tries to materialize its spindly legs.

>Not that you’re watching that, you’ve turned your attention back to the spy, who collapsed to the ground as your spell wore off.
>You and Buzz rush over to him and the space ranger tries to check his pulse.
>”It’s weak, but it is there. Not sure for how long though with the damage that thing did to him.”
>Buzz says as he looks to the blood oozing from the Spy’s split open hands.
>You look up as you hear the sound of something clattering on the floor and see Spike.
>The little dragon recoils in horror as he looks down at the bloody gashes on the spy’s leg.
>”All I did was make it worse.”
>Spike says backing away slowly as he covers his mouth with his hands only to bump into Dan as he puts a hand on the little dragon’s head.
>”Hey it was him or us, and if we had done nothing or just run off he wouldn’t even have the chance he has now. Don’t ever feel guilty for standing up for yourself.”
>Dan says as crouches down and picks up the deactivated vibroblade and hands it to spike.
>Spike nods unsure of what to say as he takes the knife, but at least the panic seems to have left his eyes.

Someone with medical knowledge correct me, but I think I've got a plan. We can use two Aspirin to numb the Agent's pain maybe even heal some of his HP, a soft Blizzard to slow the blood flow, and this is gonna sound morbid, but perhaps we could use Buzz's laser to cauterize the wounds.

I'm guessing that our spellbook from Twiggles dosen't have cure in it. Maybe we can kinda spellcraft it somehow using elements we know?Kinda like a fire, light, barrier mix?
>>
>>29814631
Search agent (I mean, he came prepared, with SPACE gun and SPACE knife, maybe he have SPACE bandages or pills?), give our aspirin (it's not like we'll use all 16 left pills before we get to med bay), stop bleeding, search for med kids or anything useful around. If anything, we can send Buzz straigh to medbay after restoring communication

But still, now we know that you can beat ooze out of people, you just can't see it's health or make a final blow while it is inside of a person
>>
>>29815959
I wonder also if the Ooze would react odd around weaponized light, even if the victims aren't possessed by them? If we could find some way to check without starting fights, that might improve our chances exponentially.

Is it possible to access the medical stuff in Buzz's suit? I'd prefer if we got the healing from some other source, like a medkit, but if it's our only option, and Buzz can spare it, he did say that his suit had stabilizing gear in it. I'm imagining something like the Auto-Med Power Armor from Fallout 3?

Other than that, lasering the wounds on his hands closed sounds good, not sure if we even need to blizzard his lower half given that we froze him in place a few seconds ago but maybe an Arcane check could tell us how long that would last, and... isn't Aspirin a blood thinner? I'm not sure how magic and conventional medicine work together, does restoring his HP really solve that when you're at or below 0? I guess it's worth a shot, right? Even though the idea of getting a mortal wound and fixing it with over-the-counter medicine sounds pretty absurd, we are fighting space zombies using a key that shoots magic alongside a toy, a dragon, and an asshole, so maybe I'll tell myself "It's just a game, I should really just relax"
>>
>>29816719
Buzz's suit really only does any good for the person wearing it. So it's not really going to do much good for this spy.

Regarding aspirin, I don't want to tell you too much without a knowdge check but I'll tell you that shit don't treat shock lacerations or blood loss.
>>
>>29816880
Lasering the wounds and scanning for useful stuff around or in his pockets left then. Still no magic potion drops or shops with them (we should remember to always have some bullshit magic in bottles if something like that happens again)
>>
>>29816880
Unless we're idiots like always and missed something, we don't have anything to really deal with blood loss and shock lacerations. The closest thing is a spell that has the added side effect of slowing blood flow. That's why I was thinking Blizzard, but I've no backing to cover this up.

If we could stabilize him, we could get his ass to Medical and grab some Oxygen Masks while we're at it.

Not related to our current situation - besides we already choose our actions - just curious about one aspect we mentioned in the first threads

Since ponies in the show (and maybe comic too, didn't checked that) transformed and changed species on many occasions, from breezies and humans in different worlds to some temporal magic stuff like Rarity's butterfly wings and Flutterbat, and for some KH worlds silly, derpy transformation of chars is required for them to not stand out (and ponies will stand out in nearly all not magical or cartoony places)... if we could go to any world with our pones, dragon and angry man companions, where would you went and why? Myself probably to Castle of Dreams (Cinderella) or The Great Mouse Detective world, for obvious reason... tch tch
>>
>>29817248
I think the universe from The Emperor's New Groove would be great. Especially given the nature of the movie, if the Anonymous was turned into a talking Alpaca and the ponies possibly could become humans. A fun twist on things I feel.

A Bug's Life I think is a given, it'd be fun to see what all bugs each pony would correspond to. I think Anon'd probably be best suited as a praying mantis, probably.

Tangled also comes to mind as a fun one, since there's already a horse and lizard precedent. They all get to experience being the "real version" being unable to talk and all but still keep their intelligence and have a lot of expression.

I wouldn't be so sure. Going to medbay first would take tons of time, which would end in:
>that guy already transformed

>existance of Zurg's plans not revealed to us
>all communication consoles destroyed or messed up (what he apparently did all this time until ooze found him first. At least one console still working btw)
And time management is important in our quest judging from Ponyville and the Heap. So yeah, for me "medbay\armory first" sounds like much worse than situation we have right now

“Okay Buzz this is probably going to be pretty rough but it’s all I can think of. Can you use your laser to cauterize his wounds?”
>Buzz puts his hand to his chin and takes a moment to think before responding.
>”I can, it’s only going to be a stop gap but it should buy us enough time to get to medical.”
>You nod and call your keyblade to you.
“Let me see if I can buy us a little more.”
>You say as your keyblade glows pale blue and you cast a gentile frosty coating over the spy’s body.
“Hopefully that’ll help stabilize him.”
>You say, not really sure how much that helped as you dismiss the Mysterious Stranger and buzz gets to work searing the wounds shut with his laser.
>For a few seconds a sizzling sound fills the air as Buzz pinches the wounds closed and burns them back together.
>It’s a grisly sight, but by the time Buzz finishes the spy’s breathing seems steadier.
>You pull a relatively intact cushion out of a pile of destroyed chairs and use it to prop up the spy’s head before you and Buzz lay him out to try and recover.
>As the two of you are trying to make the wounded spy comfortable you hear a voice from the far side of the room near the puddle of sludge left over by the necrotic ooze
>”Hey guys check this out.”
>Dan says as he pulls something out of the puddle and walks back over to you.
>”What do you guys make of this?”
>He says as he throws a black hunk of wafer thin plastic about the size of a thumb drive at your feet.
>You pick it up and examine it only to discover it’s stamped with the outline of a heartless crest.
“I have no idea, Buzz?”
>You say stumped as you hand Buzz the chip.
>He flips it over, examining the metallic contacts at the base and squinting at the chip as though looking for something he just can’t seem to find.
>”Well it looks like a standard credit chip, but it doesn’t have any markings indicating who issued it.”
>Buzz says confused before handing it back to you.
>>
>>29821957
>”Any way to check and see how much is on it?”
>Dan chimes in as you shrug and drop the chip into your bit pouch.
>”If the network were up I could check now, but with things as they are we’ll have to actually put it in a credit reader to check.”
>Buzz says shaking his head.
>”Now that he’s out of immediate danger, I think it’s time we see what our friend here knows.”
>Buzz says as he begins rifling through the spy’s jumpsuit.
>Unfortunately the search doesn’t turn up much, just another couple credit chips, and a personal data pad.
>Dan only shrugs at the light haul.
>”Well we did already take both his weapons during the fight.”
>He says as he walks over and collects the damaged plasma pistol and drops it into his bag.
“Hey Buzz you don’t think he’d be so stupid as to leave his mission on that thing do you?”
>You ask as Buzz shrugs and picks up the data pad.
>”Well there’s only one way to find out.”
>Buzz says as he activates the pad only to be blocked by a log in screen
>”Damn, he’s cleverer than I thought.”
>Buzz says stymied by the empty text box and flashing black cursor.
>”Come on don’t you have some space age cracking tool built into that suit of yours?”
>Dan says as he gives his damaged wrench a few test swings.
>It’s probably not tightening any more bolts but it’ll still act reasonably well as a blunt object for the time being.
>”Unfortunately no, we’ll need to keep our eyes peeled for a sufficiently powerful terminal if we want to get into this thing.”
>Buzz says as he hands you the data pad and the spy’s credit chips for safe keeping.
>”The only question now, is do we take him directly to medical or finish what we came here to do?”
>Buzz says jabbing a thumb at the agent before looking to the three of you for an answer.

(Victory! Anon Spike and Dan have reached level 6 and you've obtained three credit chips of indeterminate value.)
>>
>>29821971
Judging by the earlier posts it looks like you all are in the camp of go on to communications, I just thought I'd stop here to make sure.

That and I didn't really have the energy for a long update tonight.

I'm not expecting much debate on your next destination, but I do have a choice you can actually sink your teeth into.

New ability choices!

Spike (Intercept, spend superiority Dice to take a hit for an ally and mitigate damage by the number rolled+Con. or Group tactics, gain an additional +2 to hit and damage per ally when ganging up on a foe.

Anon (Extra effort, spend double on magic to increase its damage by one die size. Or, Combo plus, turn your move action into a second attack.)

Dan. (World schematics, Learn to build unique devices based on the current world.)
>>
Intercept for Spike and Combo plus for Anon. Since our best position is standing far away and casting magic at things, standing still and and Thundering things twice in a turn is more useful. And having Spike (the tank) be able to potentially take big damage instead the squishier party members (like us or Rarara) would be very useful.
>>
>>29822105
I think combo plus might only translate into a melee attack
>>
>>29822044
So, Group tactics works when we focused on one enemy? That might be handy against bosses and big guys, Spike is our main damage dealer at the moment. But intercept can save our lives easily

Combo plus goes only for regular melee attacks? Or maybe magic or special melee attacks too, like, combo continuing after shooting fireball or doing Full Swing? Because right now it sounds good, but Extra Effort in theory can be used on any magic, including later on in game. Even if not much, higher damaging Firaga or Thundaga sounds terrifying
>>
>>29822044
Intercept seems the better deal for Spike, and I feel like Extra Effort would be better, since Mysterious Stranger M cuts our cost by half anyways. We'd be doing potential double damage for as much as one cast.
>>
>>29822044
I think I've made the costs on anon's upgrades too prohibitive for what they do. So I'm going to re-tool them a bit.

Combo plus no longer prevents Anon from moving but only be used after a basic Melee attack for a second hit and prevents you from making investigation or arcana checks that turn.

Extra effort now only increases spell costs by 1.25. Double cost was too much for upgrading d6s to d8s

>>29822508
Combo plus currenty only applies to basic attacks with the keyblade, giving you a second swing. I know that's not a lot now but it's the beginning of an ability tree that will expand what those extra actions can do.

>>29823185
Extra effort wouldn't grant double damage but it is the beginning of the metamagic tree that ends in shit like twin maximise magic.

So, it's "Start Attack Combo's tree" vs "Start Magic Buff's tree". Damn, both sounds tempting as heck with our current keyblade making spellcrafting easy and accessable. I would still choose Combo right now tho, at least until we find more magic elements or finally learn more purely-magic moves (or will leave world where we can only do Blizzard and Thunder)

Question, if we buff our Keyblade with magic, can we still make it two hits combo or it will lasts only for first hit? Because if "yes, you can", I see even more pros for Combo Plus...
>>
>>29823387
The way you're buffing now with an impromptu burst of magic only lasts for one hit. You'll need to learn multi turn buffs for it to apply to both hits.
>>
>>29823283
>Anon becomes the Ainz Ooal Gown of the Kingdom Hearts universe
I need this, I vote for extra effort

you guys wanted a magic build, don't pussyfoot around it, double down on that shit
>>
>>29823500
This. As another anon said, we're gonna be spending most of our time casting magic instead of doing melee. And we already got a melee ability last time for "just in case we run out of MP".

If you guys really want more melee damage output give Spike Group Tactics to go along with Cleave.
>>
>>29823688
So, fully magic build for Anon and fully melee build for Spike? Sounds fine to me, even if I'm still feeling that Combo will be more handy in that particular world. I mean, only two out of three elements intil we fix everything, and no way of refilling MP yet (I don't think that we'll get any sleep while Ooze is on the loose and Rarity along with most of station crew and Woody are in mortal danger. Maybe we will find some Ether-like pills in medbay or item shop's on lower levels but who knows)

On a side note, Yen, can we get up-to-date station map in the next update? With rooms that we visited, cleared and should visit later, open and blocked paths, situation about other sections if we'll finally fix station communication and get in touch with everyone else?

To answer the posted question, if we can at least have a minor assurance that the Agent won't die, we can complete our plan here.

If we barely have enough time before he plain dies for a call to get a plan together, a reroute wouldn't be the abolute worst thing.
>>
>>29823943
He seems stable enough that Buzz is reasonably sure he won't die.

your medical treatment bought him 2 out of 3 successes on his death save. So odds are pretty strongly in your favor that he'll live.

>>
>>29824398
It's just a standard 5th edition death save mechanic. Roll a D20 once per "turn". You stabilize if you roll above 10 three times. If you roll 10 or lower three times you die. You keep rolling till you accumulate three succeses or three failures.

Maybe I misunderstood the question. there were seprate saves related to the actuall things you did to help him. That death save buisness is just the standard means of determining if someone dies when left to their own devices. And if you all did nothing to help him I was going to impose some pretty severe penalties to his survival checks.

It's nice to see Dan's gonna be a permanent teammate. Would've been a shame if he got stuck as a world-exclusive.

a little unrelated to the quest but it's kind of interesting how closely some aspects of P5 mirror the old quest. Out protagonist persona are all based on literary figures or more modern myths and one of the party members is more or less a Kamen rider knockoff.

Speaking of, let's not let him run around with a damaged weapon, we should see what we can find in the blunt weapons department until we can make it back to the Challenger for his junk cannon.

Also, is Spike's lance one-handed or two? I'm not going to assume he can dual-wield just yet, but if for example he ever gets a shield, it'd be nice to know if he can hold it. should get him some belts and zippers so he can handle inventory beyond what he can carry, assuming of course that his stuff doesn't disappear into a pocket dimension when he's not using it.

There's even Loki persona, but he is "anthro", with half-pony legs. Literally, like "example" pic on derpibooru when you search for anthro. And final boss of normal ending basically have Legion (but weaker and not consisting of copies of user)

So, we are choosing Extra Effort, Intercept and - since Agent is going to live another day and stable for now - to finally finish what we've started and only then go to medbay? Time to learn how bad it is for lower levels and now fucked Rarity and Woody

Reminder that this station isn't actually open to the public yet, hence why Buzz had to let us in,and why we and Rarara were detained. Luckily, almost everyone on the ship should (key word being "should") be a trained Star Command officer capable of handling themselves for the most part. If they are already taken over, these Necros don't seem intelligent, so they can't use any weapons; I think we'll see nastier variants as we get closer to the impact site, but hopefully we won't see too much in the way of mobs of these things, and they won't be able to use space guns on us.

We should also set up a broadcast when we reach comms proper, telling any incoming ships not to land if possible while this shit is going down (remember, we saw a gigantic vessel leaving as we came in) and to cover their orifices, trust nobody, and use high-energy light bursts for defense if they absolutely must dock. Sending that defensive info to anyone still holding out on the ship would be good too if we can get further internal comms.
>>
>>29833417
Even if not open, it had enough people for Buzz to not question "who the heck is that shady guy". It even has some different species and civilians with technicians, like LGMs on kitchen

I don't think that any ship is going to land on something that looks like that >>29744430 , even desperate one

>”It’s not like he’s going to drop dead if we leave him here for a few minutes to go and reactivate the station’s communications array right?”
>Dan asks as he looks back and forth between you and Buzz.
>”The sooner we get this over with the sooner you two bleeding hearts can get this piece of shit to medical.”
>Dan glares at the unconscious spy before walking over to smash the sludge frozen on the keypad with the butt of his wrench.
>Tone aside, the angry little man does make a fair point.
“He’s not in any immediate danger right? If that’s the case I feel like I gotta agree with Dan on this one.”
>You ask the space ranger who crouches and puts a pair of fingers to the spy’s neck before responding.
>”His pulse feels pretty steady; I’d say he’s just about out of the woods.”
>Buzz says as he stands.
>”And even if he’s not it’ll take him a while to make a real turn for the worse.”
>Buzz says putting any concerns you might have had for your prisoner’s immediate wellbeing at ease.
“Well then what are we waiting for, let’s go get this done.”
>You say following Dan over to the door where the little man is standing angrily as he waits for Buzz to enter the access code on the keypad.
>”It’s about fucking time, let’s get this show on the road already.”
>Dan says as Buzz punches in the access code and the door swoosh’s open revealing the external communications center on the other side.
>As the four of you file into the room you’re surprised to find communications entirely deserted.
>You search for crew members, but the only thing your search manages to turn up are a few dried blood stains on some of the consoles.
>Strangely though those blood stains aren’t accompanied by signs of a struggle or any of the black sludge from the previous rooms.
>You also turn up a datapad lying haphazardly on the floor, tossed clear of any nearby workstations.

>You aren’t sure but you think you might have an idea as to what happened here.
“Say Buzz, how many people were stationed down here?”
>You ask scanning the room.
>”We only had three communications officers stationed down here at the time of the incident. It’s not exactly a job that requires a lot of manpower.”
>You nod as the information fits neatly into your theory,
“If I had to put money on it I’d say at least one of your comms officers was injured during the crash and the others helped him over to the medical bay and sealed communications control before everything went sideways.”
>You say pointing to the abnormally clean door leading out into the main corridor.
>”So everything should be working right?”
>Spike asks excitedly as he runs over to the bank of consoles.
>”How do we contact the security deck?”
>Spike asks practically bouncing up and down as Buzz walks over and presses a few keys pulling up a view screen only to be met with the harsh crackle of static as the line fails to open.
>”Shit did we really come all this way for nothing?”
>Dan groans dragging his hand down his face as Spike’s face falls.
>”What’s wrong with it? We can fix it right?”
>Buzz shakes his head unsure as he runs down a mental checklist.
>”I don’t understand, I thought it might have just been a matter of power but the section’s emergency power is online. By all rights it should be working.”
>Buzz says as he continues to input commands on the console only to be met with the same static screen.
>”I just don’t know what went wr-“
>Buzz rubs the back of his head as he looks up out of the sections view port only to stop mid sentence when he catches sight of the three large green vertical fins outside the station.
>”Well good news is I know what’s wrong.”
>Buzz says as he turns back to the console and inputs a few commands only to be met with a harsh buzzing sound.

>”What do you mean outside, in case you forgot we don’t exactly have fancy space suits and jetpacks like you do jackass.”
>Dan says pulling on the hem of his leather jacket which, while stylish, won’t do anything to protect him from the harsh vacuum of space.
>”Wait I’m lost, what do we need to go outside for exactly?”
>Spike asks as he looks from You to Dan to Buzz for answers.
>”Look there, see how the fins are all out of alignment?”
>Buzz says pointing out the window and sure enough, upon closer inspection you can see the fins all seem to be sitting crooked.
>”The crash must have thrown the array out of whack.”
>Dan says with a scowl as Buzz nods.
>”And that’s just what we can see who knows what’s going on outside.”
>Buzz says as Dan furls his brow trying to figure out what to do next.
>”That still doesn’t answer the question of what the hell do you expect us to do about it. It’s not like we can go outside and fix it by hand.”
>>
>>29835478
>Buzz just grins and goes over to a row of storage lockers on the wall.
>”Actually we can do exactly that.”
>Buzz says opening the panel to reveal a set of space suits.
>They aren’t nearly as sophisticated as Buzz’s but it’s infinitely preferable to trying to go for a spacewalk in a tuxedo.
>”The communications section is equipped to handle emergency manual array adjustments; we even have suits for smaller races like the LGM.”
>He says pointing to a small suit that you think might fit spike after a little bit of adjusting.
>”These suits are pretty basic, no onboard weapons, thrusters, or oxygen recycling so we’re only going to have about 10 minutes of operating time but that should be plenty. On the plus side they are equipped with magnetic boots, so you won’t need to worry about floating off into space.”
>Buzz says with a sheepish smile as though he’s trying to make the best of the shit end of the stick.
>”Ugh fine let’s just suit up and get out there.”
>Dan says as he reaches for a suit.
>But to your surprise, Buzz stops him.
>”I’m afraid it’s not going to be that simple. Someone is going to need to stay inside and tell us when each piece of the Array is in the correct position.”
>Buzz says as he looks at the three of you expectantly.

>Clearly as the only one with EVA experience Buzz needs to go out. The question is, who’s going with him?
>>
>>29835487
I vote Spike and Dan should go with Buzz. We can easily CC if there's still shit inside. Dan would have some trouble with a half-eaten wrench, and Spike is good at single-target enemies, which would be a problem if he got surrounded.
>>
>>29835539
I agree dan should go out on account of engineering but what if there's something out there we need to fight. Magic is going to be our best shot in that regard. And it doesn't put spike at risk of suit problems from engaging in Melee.
>>
I also vote Spike to stay inside, provided we can be assured this job is simple enough for him to handle. I love the little guy, but the most advanced technology he's ever worked with are magic reading machines. I wouldn't trust a guy who'd only ever seen a seismograph to set up a wifi router, even with instructions.
>>
>>29835754
But that means that he will be the one instructing us. Still, if something go south inside or outside, it is for the best to leave Spike that can tank anything or simply hide in a small space in communication room, and able to fight back and backup team even in lack of gravity Anon to send outside

“Well since Dan is the closest thing we have to a technical expert, he ought to go out.”
>You say as you slowly work your way through your line of logic.
“And I think I ought to be the other one to go out.”
>You say looking at the small space suit and then over to spike.
“If there are any of the smaller heartless crawling around on the hull of the station, forcing spike to go toe to toe with them would put him at incredible risk.”
>An image of Lieutenant Corbin’s ruined space suit leaps involuntarily to your mind’s eye before you continue.
“If I go out then Buzz and I are the only ones able to retaliate from a distance if things go wrong. I think between the two of us we’ll be able to cover Dan and get the job done if worse comes to worst.”
>You summon your keyblade and pantomime firing a shot as you finish laying out your reasoning.
>”Fair points, but that leaves us with one more question. Can Spike even handle coordinating this? What’s his degree of technical knowhow?”
>Dan asks looking to you before turning to the little dragon who clenches his fists and gives Dan a determined nod.
>”I used to record readouts on twilight’s equipment all the time, I can do this you guys.”
>Spikes enthusiasm doesn’t quite seem to sway Dan, but Buzz chimes in before he can object.”
>”That should do nicely, all you really need to do is watch these three gauges, tell us how many degrees off center we are, and tell us when they turn green.”
>Buzz says pulling up a display with three radial gauges with a single line crossing each gauge.
>Sure enough all three needles are twisted off center and illuminated by a bright red backing.
>”All you need to do to contact us is use the suit’s internal coms. We’ll be more than close enough for you to reach us.”
>Buzz says as he hands spike the small space suit from the locker before handing suits to you and Dan.
>>
>>29842519
>”Now our job is a little more labor intensive but it’s still fairly simple. All we need to do is go out and use the manual controls to adjust the array according to Spike’s instructions.”
>As Buzz pulls Dan’s suit the two of you catch a glimpse of something bright red at the back of the locker.
>”And what have we here?”
>Dan asks with a manic grin as he pulls out what looks like a socket wrench the size of a baseball bat.
>”That would be an angular auto driver.”
>Buzz says as he flips a switch on the tool’s handle and the head reorients leaving it looking more like a magnetic screwdriver sans bit.
>”It tightens bolts, drives screws, and even hammers rivets at variable angles for the user’s convenience. It’s more or less an omnitool for large machinery or construction projects.”
>Buzz says as Dan’s grin spreads even wider.
>”You don’t say.”
>The little man test’s the tool’s heft before setting it aside on a nearby counter and removing his stopsign shoulder pad.
>”Might as well get this over with.”
>Dan grumbles as he pulls on the jumpsuit over the rest of his road warrior gear, taking care to strap the stop sign back on once he’s suited up.
>You follow suit as Dan picks up his suit’s helmet and turns to Buzz.
>”By the way I’ve been meaning to ask, what gives with the helmets. I figured they’d be a retro fishbowl like yours.”
>Dan asks as he pulls the helmet on with a little hiss as the suit seals itself.
>”Well it should be fairly apparent with that on but peripheral vision isn’t exactly great in those rigs.”
>Buzz explains as he pops up his own helmet.
>”The standard space ranger suit offers a full field of view but offers very little in the way of a heads up display, whereas engineering suits like yours offer a variety of information to the user.”
>Buzz finishes explaining as you pull on your own helmet, and sure enough a whole array of holographic icons flicker to life.
>>
>>29842533
“I guess you have to check that wrist console of yours for this information huh?”
>You ask as you look around the room and the suit feeds you information on the room’s atmospheric composition and informs you that it has switched from reserves to local atmosphere.
>”Exactly, all of that can be distracting to a space ranger during a fire fight but it’s all vital to an engineer’s job.”
>Buzz replies as Dan clips his old wrench and the auto driver to loops on his jumpsuit before tapping his foot impatiently.
>”Look I regret I asked, can we just go to the airlock and get to work already?”
>You can practically feel Dan roll his eyes behind his visor as he gestures towards a large steel door at the end of the room.
>”Okay if you boys are ready we’ll begin the mission, just remember to take it slow and steady. we don’t need any accidents out there.”
>Buzz says as he opens the local communication channel between your suits and the three of you step into the airlock.
>”Cycling airlock now.”
>Buzz says as he seals the door and presses a button near the door on the far wall.
>>
>>29842551
>Your suit sends you a notification that it is switching to its air reserves and an O2 meter on your hud lights up as a timer flashes into existence underneath it and begins to count down.
“T-10 minutes and counting, let’s get this done guys.”
>You say as the far set of doors slide silently open revealing the pitch black beyond.
>”Your boots should kick in automatically, just step out past the edge and you’ll reorient to the side of the station.”
>Buzz crackles over the intercom as he steps out past the lip of the door and falls out of view.
>”Well, time’s waisting.”
>Dan says as he shrugs and follows Buzz, stepping out and vanishing into the void beyond.
>You walk up to the edge and look down and find Dan and Buzz standing on the hull of the station waiting for you
>You take a deep breath and step over the edge expecting to be greeted by an uncomfortable falling sensation, but to your surprise it never comes.
>as soon as you step out of the threshold gravity seems to lose its grip on you and the falling sensation you were expecting is replaced by an unfamiliar queasy feeling.
>”Ughh my guts feel all floaty.”
>Dan groans as you step into view before Buzz chimes in.
>”You’ll get used to it, but for now we need to move.
>The space ranger says as the three of you walk up the station towards the base of the large central fin.

Knowing Kingdom Hearts? Definitely an escorts mission. Buzz is probably gonna tell Dan what to do while we play tower defense and wait for him to adjust the relays. >Dan shouts angrily over the radio as he waves his arms wildly at the empty expanse of metal.
>”Calm down it’s not like we would leave manual controls out in the open where they could get taken out by any old meteorite.”
>Buzz says as he kneels down to grab a handle in the center of a recessed cylindrical base and twists it before pulling it up from the hull of the station.
>The space ranger stands and backs away as a large white panel slides up out of the hull revealing a trio of heavy wheels attached to an array of gleaming toothy gears.

>”Well what the fuck do you propose we do now space man?”
>Dan shouts as he throws his arms up pulling him away from the hull before his magnetized boots pull him back to the station.
>”Calm down I’m thinking.”
>As Dan is yelling at buzz to think faster you walk around to the back of the gearbox and discover a collection of loose gears floating feely behind the apparatus.
“Guys I think these might be the problem.”

>>29860752
I agree with >>29861158 for some more information. Other than that, cold welding with Blizzard might be our safest bet.
>>
>>29861981
I'll make an investigation check and let you know what you find out when i get some free time at lunch.
>>
>>29861158
>>29861981
>>29862384

Closer examination of the backside of the machine reveals that there are a series of loose pegs in each column where your gears might fit. 2 pegs on the leftmost column 4 in the center and 3 on the right. The two on the left are pretty widely spaced both with respect to each other and the remaining gears. However the other sets are more uniform in their placement and don't offer up any obvious patterns for you to try.
>>
>>29863154
Is the mechanism designed to align all three fins in the array at once? Maybe we could try arranging the gears to move them one at a time, or at least move them so that when we move one fin it straightens out the others. I'm picturing those ring puzzles where moving the outer moves the inner, inner moves middle, etc.?

If we can fix them with magic, rad, but my concern is at that point we might want to trek back inside and do it somewhere where we don't have a ticking clock.
>>
>>29864138
The fins are meant to be moved independant of one another, thus the three separate control wheels. Though I suppose you could get creative and try to mac ghover a way that they all move at once.
>>
>>29863154
What are the gears turning? Or another way to put it, do we even need the gears, or could we figure out which pegs turn which fin, and then just turn those pegs?
>>
>>29864333
The gears are turning larger gears. The pegs are just an axis.
>>
>>29864204
So It's more a case of finding the right gear ratios to move each fin? And I assume each fin becomes more difficult as we run out of fresh gears and need to come up with ways to use the damaged ones.

Will we need dan's rivet driver for this?
>>
Detective bump
>>
>>29864805
I imagine need is probably a bit too strong a word. We could probably find a way to put it to work though.
>>
>>29863154
Alright, so, examining this more closely, we might not be in as bad a shape as we thought. We have 9 gears, 9 pegs 9 doors wait, wrong series. But presumably, all gears of the same size are interchangeable. And presumably, all these gears were installed at the same time. Which means that some of these are redundant if you want to align only one fin at a time.

So, let's do some logic on this. The only configurations that would leave us SOL would be ones that require more than two large or more than two medium. Since we have cracked (not broken) gears of those two sizes, we can actually do a fit test and prove that fairly easily; but in the sake of argument, let's ignore that for a second.

>The two on the left are pretty widely spaced both with respect to each other and the remaining gears.

Let's start with two large gears on the left and see if that works. If so, we know that there are at most two large gears used in either the middle or right columns. Thus, both broken large gears would be superfluous, as we can just use the ones from the left column instead once we're done with them.

Next, we can try to eliminate the medium cracked gear by putting three medium (including the cracked one) on the right, along with either a large or a small. If they fit, then we panic; otherwise, we move them to the middle and see if they fit there. If they don't fit there either, then we're home free and the medium gear is also superfluous.

Personally, I'm putting my money on the (full) correct arrangement being:
>left: two large
>center: one large, one medium, one small
>right: one large, two medium, one small

To start us off in that direction, I'd actually like to ask for one more investigation check, this time on the gears, to see if any of them have some sort of groove or locking mechanism for the handle peg.

Someone with more logic than me could probably expand on this more, but it's a start.
>>
>>29865649
The gears in each size category, with the exception of damage are uniform. No grooves or locking mechanisms whre they might connect to the wheel on the opposite side of the machine. In fact if you look inside you can see the axel attached to each wheel is currently fitted with a gear.

How bout a new move? Taking liberties from DS3 and after we learn blade can we mix a single action into the weapon art for the nameless kings spear? In which he coats the spear head with lightning then sends a single bolt into a desired spot? Thus we both buff our weapon and attack without necessarily moving
>>
>>29878978
That's pretty sweet but it gives me an idea for something that might be more immediately useful to us. How about a spell that both does damage and sets up a bulwark on us as we use it.
>>
>>29879512
So like a He-Man Thunderstrike AoE that also cloaks us? We might have to figure out a way to mitigate the damage if that puts us in the AoE range.
>>
>>29879557
We might be able to do a self centered explosion that sets up a fire bulwark on all allies caught in the blast while damaging enemies.
>>
>>29879512
I know it's a lot more subdued, but how about we fire the bulwark onto our arm for the turn, and use it to shield bash? The trade off being, of course, we have to actively block instead of the magic auto-blocking for that turn. Depends on what we want the mana cost to be, probably.
>>
Speaking of spellcrafting, Blade seems like a good thing to study next.
>>
Yeah, now that we've got the three basic elements, learning all of the basic forms should be next. Although we should also try our hand at figuring out the Magnet Cora magic if we can. Imagine it. A magnet Bulwark with a higher AC necessary to hit us, a magnet Blade that could do something like give the wielder advantage on melee attacks with the affected weapon, a Magnet shroud that could pull us closer to enemies without spending movement. I'm liking the possibilities that combining Magnet magic with the basic forms could provide us.
>>
>>29880762
Just for clarification the blade spells in their basic format manifest a temporary weapon. though I suppose one could easily turn that into a blade charge kind of effect where you enhance a melee weapon with a particular element for x number of rounds.

>After handing your armload of gears to Dan you head back around the back of the analog control panel for a closer look.
>Once you’re there you discover that there’s a vacant peg for each of the gears you just handed your irritable companion.
“Looks like we just need to figure out which of these gears go where and we’ll be in business.”
>You tell the others over the radio as you look at the layout of the pegs inside.
>The empty slots by the wheel on your left seem like the obvious place to start with only two vacant pegs to make the attempt with.
>”Hey the mountings for the gears aren’t different sizes are they? This would all be really simple if each size had its own dedicated axel type.”
>Dan’s voice crackles over your suit’s speakers as you shake your head and reach around the side of the control panel.
“No such luck unfortunately. Now if you want to hand me the two large gears that aren’t fucked I think I have one of these solved.”
>You say as you hold out a hand and Dan passes you the two intact large gears.
>The two gears fit like a glove as you reach in and slide them onto their pegs and into their proper place in the machine.
>Once you pull your arm free of the machine you give the space ranger the signal.
“Okay Buzz give it a try.”
>within a matter of seconds the space ranger complies and the gears on the leftmost column begin to turn and you feel the slightest vibration through your feet as the massive fin turns in the distance.
>”Whatever you guys are doing out there is working! One of the needles is moving!”
>Buzz continues to turn the wheel as the little dragon excitedly calls out updates on the needle's position over the channel.

>”Okaaaaay, Stop!”
>Spike finally shouts as you hear a little bing over the radio, clearly one of the dials has turned green back in the control room.
>”We’re making pretty good time boys we’ve got a good 5 minutes left to get these back in place.”
>Buzz says as you move over to the gearbox on the right.
“Okay next let’s see if we can eliminate the cracked medium gear as redundant.”
>You say as you ask Dan to pass you the three medium gears along with a small and the large cracked gear.
>After some trial and error you slide two medium gears, a small gear and the large cracked gear into place.
“Perfect, looks like we can make do without relying on any broken gears.”
>You say with a grin as you pull out the cracked gear and substitute it with one of the two large intact gears from the left gearbox.
“Okay Buzz give it a whirl.”
>You say as you see Buzz flash you a thumbs up from around the corner of the console before the gears begin to turn.
>”Uh guys we have a little problem here.”
>You hear spike say over the radio as a little bing indicates that the right hand fin is back in alignment.
>”We’ve got two down and one to go and there isn’t a heartless in sight, what could possibly be the problem?”
>Dan snaps at the little dragon as Spike recoils on the other end of the line.
>”Well that’s just it, you don’t have two down. The left fin drifted out of alignment when you were calibrating the right fin.

>”Shit. Looks like the gears do more than just move the fins around, they keep the array stable.”
>Dan groans as he drags a gloved hand down his helmet.
>”Got any more bright ideas?”
>>
>>29880989
Unless I'm misunderstanding, the fins lose their alignment when there's not enough gears in each console. Would it not work to cold weld the large cracked gear so it can be used in the left console?
>>
>>29881172
Is there any reason it has to be gears? Can we maybe just ice over completed sections entirely, so they're frozen in place? Or is that dangerous to the mechanism or something, I could see it making the parts more brittle, so I don't want to say it's the blatantly correct choice.
>>
>>29881427
I'd be more worried about the ice not holding than it hurting the parts. We in space it's already cold as fuck. Still worth a shot though.
>>
>>29881172
Speaking of welding what about welding the snapped one back together with buzz's laser?
>>
>>29881427
>>29883200
I hate to suggest that we risk breaking the machine but what about welding the gears we can't move in place once we set each fin?
>>
>>29884906
I wonder if that wouldn't just backfire if we mistake the correct placement.
>>
>>29885439
That's my concern too. At least if we freeze the gears we can thaw them again.
>>
bump this dump
>>
So i'm hearing cold weld the cracked gears in order to try and restore them to working order? That seems to be what everyone thinks is the most viable/ least dangerous option.
>>
>>29888030
I worry that it might make the cracks worse, but fuck it. Might as well see if that works.
>>
>>29888053
we might as well go ahead and take the thread to the bump limit here. I should have the results up in time for the next thread.
>>
>>29888030
>>29888616
>>29888053
And do we want to try welding the snapped gear with buzz's laser or freezing it back together as with the cracked gears?
>>
>>29888738
Let's let Buzz try welding the one, that way if we're morons and somehow fuck up our attempts, we'll know whether it's even possible or economical in terms of his power cells to weld.
>>
>>29888873
sounds like a plan. I'll get to work putting it into effect.
