I got this thing I can cram them on that let's them sit at a pretty friendly angle so it doesn't break or bend the spine, and I get the whole page. The first book only covers the three tribes, sorry Anon.

However, there is another book coming out later this year that is akin to a Monster Manual that promises more playable races. For now you'll have to homebrew and maybe griffons are a monster-race in the book to use for example. I know diamond dogs are at least.

Best way is to tear the spine out of the hardcover, use a blow dryer to melt the glue holding the pages to the spine, carefully pulling the pages out one by one (apply more blow dryer as needed), and then scanning those one by one afterwards.
That's how I did the Art of Equestria book when it came out and it didn't turn out too bad.

We'll have to wait for the bestiary, but I would just say give them 1d6 in Body and Mind, 1d4 in Charm, and give them the racial Talent 'Shapeshifting', rolling a d6 to transform appearance into anything you want (DC based on the complexity of what you're transforming into, a rock would be 2, a pony 4, etc)

Just realized my math was flawed unfortunately: you don't get to level up a single talent, you get to up a single UNUSED talent: everything that was used in the quest automatically raises by 1 level. So Twilight could possibly be as low as level 15 or so (you do need one level per body/mind/charm, and one for each NEW talent) if she used every single talent every single game.

Realized my method was flawed, there's a MUCH faster way to figure out which level they're at: you only need to look at Body/Charm/Mind, as those each get one die-raise per level/adventure.
As such, every Mane 6 member is
>Level 10
as each of their stats is upped by 9 die level from the base level for each race. The exception being Twilight who's got one more, but I assume that's due to being an Alicorn (and thus getting that Stone Heart bonus to a main stat) than being Level 11.

a bit of my for making these just so it doesn't seem like I'm randomly pushing stats together too much

1. set the race's default attribute dice to d4, d4, d6 (usually one of the three hard set, and then let the player choose how to divide up the last two but you can let them choose between all three or not choose any)
2. Select as many of the following until you have 2 points
>Add a base racial talent at d6 (+1 point)
>Increase one of the variable attribute dice by one die level (+1 point)
>Increase a chosen attribute by one die level (+1 point)
>Add a base racial quirk (-1 Point)

Only one I realize is off is Changeling, who only comes out to 1 point (3 base racials / 2 base quirks)

I think it depends on how you use said racial talent: I personally see the ability to dig under the ground on a whim every bit as useful as flying if used correctly.

As to buffalo, it does make more sense for them to be stronger: a d10 base Body and d4/d6 mind puts their Stamina anywhere from 14-16, which makes sense to be larger than a pony's 10-12. I see your point on quirks, in how they're mines for Friendship tokens, but I think you're underestimating the amount of effort they're supposed to put into RPing that quirk in order to surpass it, and how it should inconvenience them in some manner.

You get one quirk. If the GM allows it you can have a second one. You can get more quirks when you level up if your pony has experienced something terrifying or got a lasting injury. This should only happen once or twice in the life of a pony though.

Curtains are very hard to remove once a pony gets tangled up in them. It would probably be less messy to take the Gordian Knot approach.

You're right, it's NOT just based on looks and she's shit at public speaking, but it is based on looks to some extent, it is personal magnetism after all. even if you don't say a word you can still have something mysterious and alluring going for you that makes you interesting to the eyes of people and make them approach you. 8 charisma implies otherwise.

Also, Coincidentally, singing is a skill tied to charisma. and Fluttershy has been a good singer since Episode one.

With that said, I'd probably give her a little bit more Charisma but get rid of the negotiator feat and replace it with Skill Focus (singing). as far as I can remember, almost everytime she's done singing or something public it has succeded spectacularly, baring trading in the marketplace.

At the end of the day they're just fucking numbers and you can play and represent your character the way you wish. I just wanted to bump the thread anyway

D&D's a bad system for a character like Fluttershy anyway, since it doesn't give any incentive to play her flaws. Low charisma doesn't make you scared to go on stage, or cause you to panic at the sound of laughter, or turn shopping for groceries into a baffling ordeal. Honestly, the way I would dole out exp for D&D was the same as Tails of Equestria. My players were so come-and-go save one, that he would end up far ahead of everyone else. He would roleplay, fight well, and survive longer than everyone else, so I had to balance it out somehow, or it would be a one-man show. So I gave up dealing out exp in small chunks, and just gave everyone a level at the end of certain arcs of the adventure. We didn't have friendship tokens to dole out for individual roleplay, so I just made sure the good player would end up with the best items as a reward. That way he was still a cut above the rest.

I'd prefer this over combat-focused rpg:s too. I've played some drunken pony rpg:s in pony meetups, but with one DM enjoying Dwarf Fortress and one enjoying Game of Thrones, gore and permadeaths have always taken the center stage. What kind of peaceful quests around Ponyville could there be?

Also, there's been some halfhearted planning for running a pony rpg in a pony ballbusting thread at fchan, and a noncombat setting would work much better for that too.

The there you want to get fairy dust, the boss is a fairy that can stop time and pause you, aswell as the standard environmental hazards.

Also environmental hazards should be the main enemy in almost every encounter straight out the wazoo. A good example might be that you have to defeat a pone in a eating contest for spicy food. The spicy food inflicts burn damage and saps your stamina, if you fail its too hot and you rush off and have to drink water and thus you quit the contest.

The adventurers succeeded (although Sunburst managed to give himself the bent horn and flaming eyes of Sombra while critically failing to curse a guard), and even managed to replace the letter with a masterfully written friendship report.

The next quest was about finding a cure for the curse, which the party found from an underground pond they located via research in the library.

A strange disease is spreading in Ponyville, and the party is called to investigate. As the party investigates, it is revealed that the disease is not naturally transmissible, meaning someone is spreading it on purpose. After a while, Flim and Flam roll into town with a new miracle cure. But, despite seeming like the obvious suspects, investigation reveals that they're NOT the ones responsible for spreading the disease.

Int 15 means that the DC for her spell is 13, that anyone will pass unless shit rolls.
