Before MLP I was just a normal shut-in NEET. I had my vidya, my normie porn, and I DIDN'T TALK ABOUT MY FEELINGS to anyone who didn't have masters degree and was being paid.
Then the horses showed up, and I joined a message board to talk horse with other horse fans. Then the horse talk led to things not directly horse related. Within a month or so I was going on full feelfaggot escapades over PM's and Skype.
Everyone always says to be open about your emotions; don't hold stuff back. They're dirty liars. I didn't feel any better from it all. The more I opened up to my new friends the more I got addicted to airing my grievances, but I never felt any better nor did I feel any more motivated to change my NEET life and be 'healthy'. All that happened was I got more attached to posting online, and my negative feelings became more prevalent until I lashed out one too many times and got myself banned.
Here's what happened when I was banned:
>Panic attack.
>Go downstairs.
>Get knife.
>Threaten life in front of parents.
>Police called.
>Hospital.
>Institution.
>Week surrounded by addicts and suicidals.
>Many cry.
>Think about board every day.
>Vacation to beach ruined because of worry.
>Birthday ruined because of worry.
>One year, five months, two days later.
>Old admin leaves, new one rescinds ban.
>Happy for a few days.
>Old problems are there as if waiting for me.
If I'd just not have watched that first episode... Friendship is a curse. Attachment is cancer. Just look at me now. I'm posting on freaking 4chan when I barely ever used to come here. I take nine pills every night. Another year has gone by with no job. I'm not blaming everything bad that's happened in the last 3-4 years on Pony, but I do think it's arguably made me a worse person. I'm more emotionally fragile and thin-skinned than I used to be. Where I used to be strong enough to hold my feelings back, I now let my thoughts out quicker than an 80 year old with IBS.

I don't deny that the smaller communities of Reddit users can be tolerable. It's weird going from one community to another. I'm not sure what terms to use. What is 4chan's beef with Reddit? The users? I use Reddit just for the UI and being able to keep track of posts. Plus I just kinda like having a profile. Seems more permanent. Then again, when I first started using message boards around age 14, I also liked to farm post count in spam sections.

Basically, Reddit is completely unoriginal. Everything there is a repost of a repost of a repost, no OC comes out of it, and most of the more popular content is ripped straight from 4chan. It's also a hotbed for "intellectuals", or rather, a bunch of faggots who enjoy jerking themselves off about their highly exaggerated intelligence.
It encourages, on a sitewide level, absolute conformity through user-generated censorship, the upvote/downvote system. If you make a post that many people get assmad over, you get downvoted, your post gets deleted depending on the board, and you are effectively censored. It encourages one to keep up a "reputation", whereas on 4chan, you are free to post whatever the fuck you want. Go from contributing great things to quality conversations on one thread, to just calling everyone a faggot and making a general ass of yourself on the the other. You cannot do that on Reddit.
It's also unbearably leftist, full of cock-sucking faggots and demi-queer agendered Helecopterkin, similar to tumblr. There are those like that on here of course, but at least on 4chan you won't get censored for calling a faggot a faggot.
