There's more to Starlights ascension; she has an incredibly in depth understanding of the map: only SHE has the magical knowledge and connection with the map to use it to work magic and cast magic on it. That shows she's destined to be linked to it as a princess as well. No one else has that ability, not even the other six: the most they get is a page, starlight actually is able to use her connection with the map to work magic like time travel (and whatever it is she's doing with it in the premier that makes it get lost)
