Really, the only justifications I can think of for an MLP tattoo:

-After (((5))) or more years of liking it, it has made a large impact on your life in some way
-For (((3))) or more years, the CANON series or merch has been your formal occupation. (You work on the animation team, storyboard, advertising, etc)
-You have many other tattoos already

You can either let it make nicer or search for high level artists on tattoo cons and ask them if they could come up with any motive to cover it. Or ask artists on the web to make an image out of it which hides it, to get ideas.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, maybe in 10 years theres some easy technology to remove it, you never know

Nothing lasts forever. Maybe a permanent mark is a nice way to remember something that was special for you. And people get tattoos about all kind of obscure shit all the time, isn't it more reasonable to get a tattoo about something that you actually loved?

I don't have any tattoo, it's easy to talk when I have nothing to "regret", but I've been thinking about it for years. I don't know if I could ever do it because I'm terrified of needles, but I still want to get one and not even the OP changed my mind. Maybe if I did it I would end up regretting it, who knows, but ponies have been an important part of my life for so long that I would love to have a memory of them forever.
