Ah...it's good to see the Lyra thread back, always makes me happy...

As for the question that seems to be going around as to why people like Lyra so much, well I'll explain why I love this minty pony so much.

Whenever I see Lyra, I see one thing, an incredibly happy, cheery and just all around jovial pony who would take time out of her day to help someone who was feeling down, think about it every time you see her in the background or something, what is she doing nine times out of ten? She's smiling, she's cheerful she's just...she exudes happiness and joviality, and just seeing that makes my day better.

In some ways I think Lyra would be a pony whom you could go to if you were having a bad/sad day and she would sit there, listen to you in a quiet way and just...talk to you and help cheer you up unlike someone like....Pinkie Pie for example, sure Pinkie would do what she could to cheer you up it's just...Pinkie tends to be highly irritating in it since she's high pitched, spastic and generally it would be some irritating song or something that she would do to try and cheer you up. Sure for some that would work but to me Lyra comes off as someone who would sit there and just...quietly listen and cheer you up that way, if she did a song it would be something with a harp or lyre as most fan art tends to show her with, I don't remember in the show if she's been shown to be musically proficient but I feel that's what she would play and it would be soft, soothing and overall bring peace and happiness. And again it's just...I see her in the background and she just has this aura of...joviality about her, and her color scheme is just so soothing and pleasant, she just brings a feeling of peace and happiness when you look at her.

Part Two

As for people who may not like the HYOOOOMANZ!!!11!! obsession/fanon theory, well I can understand that and I do find it cute and funny but I don't 100% subscribe to that theory, really I like to say that Lyra is actually a bit more of a daydreamer/avid reader and smarter than she looks/comes across and really just has an obsession (and if you wanna say it fetish) with fantasy creatures, yes she lives in a world where manticores, minotaurs, hydras and all that are real but surely there's some creatures that are still unheard of or fantasy in the Equestrian universe and that's what she really likes, I don't go as far as her babbling about them all the time but I see that as one of the things she's highly interested in, and it's just really cute to think about.

I also think she wears glasses for reading and is very, very insecure about that, and honestly that's pretty cute when you think about it.

That's pretty much all I have right now, but I can say when I first got into the fandom I was a Twifag, I still like Twilight and enjoy cute stories with her, but Lyra was always what I considered my backup waifu, and after seeing the way the show turned to shit, and especially Twilight I'm glad I did, even at the height of my Twifag days this minty pony always made me smile seeing her, and now she just makes me happy to see since thanks to her being a background character she pretty much can't be ruined by shitty writers.

Apologies for the wall of text/autism sperging, this pony just makes me very happy.

TL:DR Lyra is a minty silly, happy pony with a wonderfully pleasant color scheme that just makes me happy to see.

Same, except I've never had a dream about ponies. Not even once. Ponies have been on my mind since 2012, and I look at pictures of Lyra every day, but not once have I had a dream about her. It sucks, man. Instead, it's weird random dreams of random stuff, also plenty of nightmares from when I used to work at Walgreens, and that was over three years ago.

I've had only two dreams about pony Lyra, but I've had multiple dreams about EqG Lyra.

In both of the pony Lyra dreams, I was being chased by something and then I stop and realize this is a dream. The she appears out of thin air, tackles me to the floor, and we both start laughing and hugging each other. In all of the EqG Lyra dreams, she is fucking pissed off at me and looks like she's ready to fucking slit my throat.

I can't get even ONE minty-based dream. I wish I knew how to lucid dream. The closest I can get to controlling my dreams is when I experience sleep paralysis, but it's frightening as fuck, and there's always this loud rumbling sound I hear.

I know I've had a few dreams with Lyra, but they weren't super eventful because I wasn't lucid. The two times I have been lucid, I wasn't able to summon her.

I personally like slightly larger ponies where they can reach up to your thighs or lower stomach and if they stand on their hind legs, they can look at you directly in the eyes. Their shoulder height isn't very much, but since their heads are so big they can boop your belly button.
