There was also the hedgehog filly with super strength who lifted up part of the school with one leg. Point is, physically the strongest ponies are Earth ones, even if they're infrequent mutants.

As an extra, all the oldest ponies in the show sans the alicorns have been Earth ponies. I don't remember ever seeing ponies as ancient as Granny Smith in Pegasi/Unicorn form.
