She wasn't a good villain because she was really just being a brat who was lashing out at her "mom" who didn't give her what she wanted. She is much better as a hero and her character fits that. She's courageous and a leader and has had a good story arc as her character has changed. She has many flaws and seems the most "human" out of everyone. Very relatable for a lot of people.
Also, she has a very unique and exotic color scheme compared to many of the other characters we've seen so I think like that attracts many people.


And remember, when talking about her EG 1 character, they only thought they were gonna make one EG so they didn't think they would need a backstory for her or make an elaborate characterization.
