First 3 comics were good, then the last 3 fucked everything up.

Honestly it seems like a time issue. Like hasbro oversaw the first 3 and required alot of effort put into them, but then they ran out of time and were like "Okay, fuck it, just get it done" and the last three were churned out in an afternoon.

The same reason they have a hard time finding writers for the comic, because most comic writers just laugh when asked to write for ponies.
