While the show isn't nearly dead yet, it will be dead at some point.
In the same way that we all have to accept that everyone we love will eventually die, I've come to accept that the show and the fandom will eventually be reduced to almost nothing but memories.
I still cry about it sometimes, though

Granted, but a decline isn't the same as death. Ponies were new and fresh and it was something novel and different that drew people in, and there were also a lot more people spreading the autism to get people to "join the herd". That kind of growth isn't sustainable, and sooner or later there will be a decline and stabilization. We could have more ups in the future, but honestly, I think this "fandom is dying" thing that has been plaguing us since 2011-2012 is going to become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Why bother joining when people keep telling you that the good times are over?
