But were really watching the show for it's plot and storytelling? I was watching it because I liked the colours and cute shapes. They were a nice break from all the grimdarkness of my other interests. And my depressing lonely futureless life.

Trixie was aggressive and unpleasant right off the bat and escalated things physically. Sure showmen are about the show, but you don't see magicians bragging and attacking their crowds. Spectators want to be amazed, not laughed at and belittled like is the case in stand-up comedy.

The problem isn't season 2, the problem is people claiming seaosn 2 is the best thing since sliced bread. Season 2 is just arguably better than season 3, and they both pale in comparison to seasons 4 and 5.

The actual show never makes this an issue about the main characters being morally superior to Trixie when they heckle her. Twilight doesn't challenge her, she just proves herself to be better when it counts.
