No. And it only gets worse. I can enjoy EQG for what it is but they make it really difficult for me. I really didn't think it can get any worse but Rarity's character was reduced to literally just "DRESSES" and "MUH FASHION SHOW" in LoE. Now I know it's nothing new for EQG but this time it's been so insufferable, so agressive I felt like I hate it, I hate this character. It was the first time ever in 6 years I didn't want to see her on screen. I hated myself for it, it felt horrible. Of course it's technically not her so it doesn't matter in the long run, but just goes to show how fucked up she could be this entire time if not handled with care like in FiM. It really made me appreciate the real Rarity so much more.

Yes, but humanized Rarity is just that, a canvas. You can also project all kind of stupid shit on it. At its worst it can be worse than EQG. For example EQG Rarity at least on a basic levels resembles FiM Rarity, while you can possibly make some edgy fanon bullshit with humanized Rarity that won't be connected to her by anything but a name.

If it's "just a picture" we're talking about then I dunno how peronality matters, I guess it's more about it just not being EQG. For me it comes down to style, there's a lot of things that can go wrong in humanizations, it's pretty inconsistent and if you dislike EQG style then you dislike all EQG pictures pretty much, but it's not the same with regular fan humanizations as they vary in some respects. A lot of people dislike EQG designs and that's nothing new, I personally have nothing against it. But I noticed I liked it less and less with each new movie, I think even visually they fucked LoE up somehow.

Rarity as a human is sometimes portrayed older than other ones, so it's no surprise she gets such treatment, from just mature woman to cougar or christmas cake. Just like Fluttershy gets giant funbags because busty shy girl cliche. I personally dislike that, that's just lazy stereotipisation that has nothing to do this anything. The proportions of EqG are all sorts of wonky. Legs are too long, they iirc don't even have real feet because boots 24/7, the heads are in this cartoony style because they really wanted to just put a pony head on the body, arms are too thin, the whole thing looks ridiculous, and uncomfortable at times. The princesses have it even worse.

No, wouldn't say that. Giant tits are a deliberate decision of the author to make character look mature/slutty to stand out, not a univeral style. All EQG designs have those fucklong legs, it's just its style. It stems from toy's boots design borrowed from Monster High.
Though nothing is worse than how princesses are protrayed with this style. That's way over the line.

It's a kids' show; sex stuff and gruesome murder aren't happening. SB being RY's daughter isn't totally out, but there's no reason for the writers to go there, either.
On the other hand, she's gone a whole season without an episode before, and an episode focusing on Spike's crush on her is exactly the kind of thing that the writers will become increasingly convinced is a good idea over time.

At first, I liked her because I enjoy overdramatic humor. But she really grew on me because I think she's a more complex and flawed character than the others. She's so interesting.

I also really love how perceptive she is of others' feelings (usually). She knows when something's up, and she knows how to talk to you about it. Especially consider Filli Vanilli, the way she knew exactly what Fluttershy was doing but let her do it without saying anything, because talking about it would kind of ruin Fluttershy's experience. In the end, Rarity could break it down in a genuine, compassionate way that confronted Flutters' fears while also providing her a way through them.

Side note: after Fluttershy tries to walk away after Big Mac's voice had returned, the way Rarity says, "Fluttershy, stop!" gets me in the heart every time. It's a simple line, but it is delivered so well - you can really hear Rarity's genuine concern for her friend.

I would love to have a friend like that.

Her skill of reading someone's feelings (empathy) is one of her greatest strengths. I think the first time we've seen a glimpse of that is in Sonic Rainboom. You know, when she bumps Twilight to find a spell? pretty unf scene btw
She often shows a great amount of understanding where the others are oblivious. Rarity can read a pony like nobody else can, and that's great. It's not something that is shown in your face, often it's just a small hint here and there, a gesture or expression, but it's consistent and I love her for it.
Sometimes it actually is for the worse - like in RTM where she reads too much into her friends' displeasure with working instead of seeing the musical, and breaks under the stress. Not that she wasn't right.
Speaking of RTM, at the end when Coco gives her the trophy, Rarity gives that sighing hum when offering Coco a job, and I love that small detail. Often the dialogue is too clean cut, just say your lines, laugh or sigh when told to and make it obvious. This one feels subtle, so natural, so genuine.
I get delighted by the smallest things.

Yes, Sonic Rainboom is another time where I just love Rarity. Even though she fully understands RD's stress, she gets carried away by herself. She is a pretty realistic character.

Also Tabitha is such a talent. Her perfect inflections and undertones just make Rarity sing... Well, metaphorically, as Kazumi Evans makes her literally sing. And her singing voice is gorgeously elegant. I adore Rarity songs. They have such feeling.

The smallest things can bring the greatest delight. Subtlety can be brilliant, and Rarity has all those wonderful, tiny details. What a great horse.

And yes, Rarity gets carried away, but it's a learning experience, and adds to her character. It's the flaws that make her real, not necessarily her strengths.
Tabitha and Kazumi were both great picks for her voice. Tabitha is consistently great and entertaining, even though I think sometimes, in later seasons, she's pushing the accent and intonations a little bit too hard.
Kazumi, from Art of the Dress to Rules of Rarity, and throughout even with something like the short verse in Bats just fucking delivers.
The only song I don't really like is Generosity just because of how on the nose it is, although the reprise is nice.

Tabitha does overact a bit, but I think that's just because of the show's direction. Rarity was a bit overboard and out of character in her freakout in The Gift of Maud Pie, for example. That said, Rarity is otherwise an overdramatic character, so overdoing it is often fitting. It makes her such a fun character.

I liked how in PPOV they could just go wild with Rarity. That was a good time.

I completely agree on Bats. That one verse always sticks out to me. She kind of outshines the others. This is normal, of course.

Her VA does a great job at not just doing the typical ojousama voice as would be expected, that's commendable. They really do pay attention. The dub was really well done and they got voices right, though I loved Twilight's voice the most because she's voice by Miyuki Sawashiro.

It's the best dub there is but that's also because most other dubs are just abyssmal. I don't think any dub is better than the original though, since some things inevitably got lost in translation and voice casting. For example nothing can replace the CMC voices. Japanese dub just got most of the things right. They take it seriously, while some countries just work with "little girls won't care so we don't have to try" attitude.

I'm hardly a creative person. Personally I started by drawing 30 minutes a day and after a few months that 30 minutes became an hour, then three hours. Drawing ended up becoming more than a hobby and more of a life-style. There's a lot of ups and downs but the steady progress makes it worth the struggle.

I understand if you feel it isn't for you. There's nothing wrong with that so don't feel guilty for it. But if you want it then you gotta be willing to sacrifice and just do it.

It's most likely the accented shine. The problem with not drawing in the black part of the eye (which I don't do in sketches) makes the eyes look super lifeless, so bumping up the significance of the shine has to be super good to compensate, so that might be what it is.

I'm guessing it is something she intentionally cultivated in herself at a young age (notice that she does have the accent in the flashback in Cutie Mark Chronicles). It's not "fake," since she naturally speaks that way. But she certainly didn't pick it up from the world around her. No one else in Ponyville has that accent, especially not her parents. She must have, at some point, decided that she wanted to present herself that way, so she practiced the accent.

That's the only thing that makes sense to me, at least.
