I started the MLP wiki, posted on the very first /co/ pony threads (and uploaded a small archive of the first ones to file-sharing sites), kept statistics for the posts in these threads for the first few months, made a lot of GIFs, and pretty much left when the fandom inevitably centered itself around porn and erotic fanfics.

The amount of denial in the fandom is astounding. Those first few interviews with bronies set the tone for always presenting false pretences in the fandom, both outward and inward.

haven't posted here in ages, i visit once a year at most.

I remember not giving a shit about cartoons, then one day i saw the announcement that /mlp/ was added. Out of sheer curiosity i started frequenting this place.

One of the best memories i have of 4chan is ironically that time when mods were deleting literally dozens of threads from /mlp/ and almost all of /mlp/ migrated to ponychan and mlpchan. These two websites couldn't handle all the new traffic. It was a real shitshow. We were treated as refugees and even got our own designated shitpost board on mlpchan. After a week or so shit went normal again, but a lot of people stayed away.

Just checked out ponychan, turns out is has merged with mlpchan. The place is deserted. Quite sad really.

I also wrote some scripts back in the day to make mlp win a bunch of "who is the best fanbase" polls.

I hope you guys enjoyed this little blast from the past. I know I did. It's been years since I've even looked through my pony folder, let alone my subfolder that holds these caps. Reading all of these old posts brings me back to some of the happiest memories I've ever had, both on 4chan and even in real life. Yeah, it might seem autistic and cringey as fuck to you (rightfully so), but to me these caps represent great times had by myself, and those who participated in these threads. I remember when Ponies exploded on the SomethingAwful.com forums and any discussion of MLP was banned. MLP is still banned on the SA Forums.

I also remember the Bridlemaids billboard and the first big MLP meme which referenced the old Warner Bros. cartoon "The Dover Boys" ("Confound these ponies, they drive me to drink!").

And I also recall the big shitstorm over MLP on /co/. However, I didn't become a fan of MLP: FiM until "The Cutie Map" in 2015.
