For the rare person learning another language is easy; polyglots who speak dozens of languages fall in this category. They can become fluent in a new language in just a few weeks.

For most people, learning another language to the point of fluency is not easy, taking about a year.

I'd say that having to spend a few hours per day for a year qualifies as "not easy."
