>What is this thread about?
This thread revolves around stories about ponies being enslaved.

>Can you elaborate more?
Sure! SPG (Slave Pony General) is mostly about characters dealing with the actual implications of the horrifying thing that is chattel slavery. It's more looking at how people with modern sensibilities deal with the ownership of another sentient being, and how most people aren't total cunts.
If you want an explanation on the differences between /SPG/ and /SiM/, go check out the FAQ.

A New Landscape Continued...

>>(POV Applejack)

>You got your work done in only eight hours today
>and that was including all of the double checking

>thanks to how well your work went, maybe now, Master would give Apple Bloom some extra food for today’s meal
>but probably not
>with Master, it was always an all or nothing deal
>if you didn’t do a satisfactory job, your sister went hungry
>if you did, Apple Bloom got her rations
>It was that simple.

>And you would be damned before you let your sister starve
>Your joints ached, your muscles burned, and your body was always covered in sweat
>but you pressed on anyway
>day after day, you just mindlessly followed the routine
>you dared not think of anything but your tasks
>anything else was a waste of time

>But even still, as the sun tanned your orange coat, you couldn’t help but think of your hat
>you missed it…
>>
>>29540241
>The water from the hose is not cold, but you are so thirsty that you do not care
>you gulp it greedily, the bump in your throat bulging out with each swallow
>once you’ve had your fill, you walk toward the house

>Master’s house isn’t even really a house
>it’s a mansion, an estate
>despite its size, it’s separate from Master’s other agricultural enterprises

>you were powerful, strong
>your two former Masters had learned that
>and they’d learned that the hard way…

>in fact, you had originally been stationed outside of the estate when you first got here
>they started you on the grunt work, some of the heaviest labor at this place
>but you weren’t afraid of lashes, or strikes
>you did the work, but you never feared giving them lip
>showing them the fires of your defiance
>even sometimes disobeying orders from your overseers

>That is, until...

>You never figured out how Master discovered your sister.
>You’ll never forget the day when he brought you into his house, dragged between three guards
>they dragged you through his front door, into the front lobby
>>
>>29540248
>and as soon as you saw her, standing beside your Master, your heart had stopped
>a growing filly, with a red wavy mane, her pale yellow coat and your mother’s beautiful, expressive eyes staring back at you
>she was older, but still very much a filly
>you knew it was her the second you clapped eyes on her

“Ap...Apple Bloom?”

>You barely whispered it
>you almost wanted to ask yourself if it was a dream, if this could possibly be real
>but you could feel the cold floor beneath your hooves
>you could still sense the prickling tingle of the sunburn on your face and shoulders
>and you knew it was real.

>Apple Bloom’s eyes had practically bugged out of her head when she saw you
>her jaw dropped, and she seemed to stop breathing upon her realization
>and for the first time since you had been ripped from all family, all traces of your former life, you felt a warmth in your heart
>it felt like it was floating in your chest when she called your name back at you, face beaming with elation

“Applejack! APPLEJACK! Oh gosh, oh Celestia, Applejack!”
>>
>>29540255
>it was the first time you had heard her voice in so, so long
>and when it said your name, it made the tears start flowing like rivers down your face
>you cry unashamedly, and you rush forward

“Apple Bloom! Oh, Apple Bloom, it’s you! Oh my gosh, it’s YOU!”

>There were tears in her eyes, too, as she began towards you
>In that moment, everything else around you disappeared
>you had tunnel vision, and all you could see was her
>tears falling, a smile so wide it could have lit up the night sky, you closed the distance between you...

>and got a boot hard to the gut.

>in an instant, all of the air whooshed out of your lungs, and you fell flat on your stomach
>striking the hard floor, the impact knocked you dizzy
>you didn’t even have the breath to give a shocked cry of pain
>and your mouth gapes open with failed attempts to draw breath

>But then, you heard the scream of your sister.

>someone grabbed your mane, and yanked your head up
>and behind you someone stepped onto your back, pinning you to the floor
>you gasped noiselessly for air, and it took a moment for your lungs to start working again

>neck bent awkwardly, you were forced to look ahead
>and the sight you saw made your heart feel like it was going to explode
>>
>>29540260
>The third guard, who had been with you, now forcefully held Apple Bloom down
>his foot stood on top of her lower back, and his hand held her tail taut
>Apple Bloom tried to kick out, but he pushed her down, making her cry out with distress

>your brain registered pain and confusion at the same time as the scene around you crumbled
>every muscle cried out as you tried to struggle, but you were immobilized
>still, you tried to say her name, your pulse so hard that you could feel it in your throat

“Apple Bloom! Ap---ahh!”

>the guard’s foot pumped down hard on top of you, driving the air out of your lungs once again
>your sister’s name dies before it can leave your mouth
>Across from you, Master stood unperturbed by all that was happening.
>he took turns looking at you, and then Apple Bloom, doing this over and over

>from across the floor where she lay, you met your little sister’s gaze
>the thoughts that would have been racing through your mind, the joy at seeing her right here in front of you
>it was ruined when you saw the terror in her eyes

>Master bent his head down to look at you
>The hand gripping your mane pulled your head to the right, forcing you to look back at him
>when you saw his face, the icy smile on his lips made your skin go cold
>>
>>29540268
“Ahh. So, she IS your sister! I knew it was true the second I saw your face when you walked in here.”

>The jovial tone was so saccharine sweet that it makes your blood chill in your veins
>it wasn’t sincere
>it wasn’t happy
>it was…

>All of a sudden, you saw the whip in his hand.
>The sight of it made you jolt, like a shock was just sent through your body
>Master smirked at you, and he gritted his teeth
>you’ll never forget that look on his face, long as you live
>the seething rage beneath his smile…

>Apple Bloom saw it, too
>she went pale, and began to try and slip away as he stepped toward her, focusing all of his attention on her
>you don’t know why, but at first it was like you were too shocked, too confused to say anything
>it was like your brain just couldn’t catch up with what was suddenly happening

“No, no, w-wait, w-what’d I… no!”

>Apple Bloom’s shaky voice broke with a heart-rending squeak as Master raised the thin, cordlike whip above his head.
>>
>>29540275
>before, you had been frozen in shock, unable to process what was happening
>but now, at seeing the whip being raised, your voice finally unfreezes
>The scream of terror that rips out of your throat echoes around the large antechamber

“NO! Master, Master no! I’ll do anything, I’LL DO ANYTHING!”

>Your Master’s arm and shoulder twitch forward, and so does the whip
>but at the last possible second, his arm stops
>the cord of leather swings back and forth like a pendulum, dangling under his elbow

>He turns to you, and away from your quaking sister
>His eyebrows raise, and he tilts his head

“Oh? Anything?”

>He tries his best to sound surprised
>amused
>But it’s lost on you, and you don’t hesitate to nod your head
>emphatically

“Yes! Anything, anything, Master! Please, don’t!”

>Master smiles
>it’s a look that twists your stomach
>and then, slowly, he lowers the whip
>the end of the leather cord now drags on the floor
>but his eyes remain fixed on you
>>
>>29540282
>instead of breathing a sigh of relief, you gasp, bringing air into your lungs
>your pulse pounds in your ears, and tears of absolute relief drip to the floor
>Apple Bloom’s eyes, which had been squeezed shut in preparation for the whipping she was going to receive, now flutter open
>Her eyes dart all around, taking in the scene before her, before they rest back onto you

>There’s gratefulness, but also, pain in her gaze
>seeing her expression makes you begin to better realize what you just promised
>you promised to do anything
>and you knew not what cruelties you were now going to endure
>but the fear now gripping your heart, compared to the pain Apple Bloom has just been spared, is nothing
>you no longer care what fate now befalls you
>as long as she is safe.

>The sound of your Master’s boot stepping on the hard floor shake you out of your thoughts
>He rolls up the short whip, and holds it by his hip, and takes a few more steps toward you
>until he is standing just in front of you

>he kneels down, and your very blood turns to ice
>his hand reaches under your chin
>and softly caresses it
>you can’t help it, but you start to shiver

>He leans down, and speaks to you
>>
>>29540284
“Anything. Anything… that’s quite refreshing, coming from you.”

>He runs his hand down your cheek, and down your neck
>despite it all, you have to resist the urge to bite him
>you almost feel ashamed that the thought even crosses your mind

“You see, I’ve heard from many of my men that you have been quite the handful. And what’s worse, other ponies have begun to catch on. It seems you’ve turned into… inspiration for them.”

>He runs his palm down your throat
>and you jolt as he gives it a brief squeeze
>for a moment, your airways are closed, but he releases almost immediately
>but the short display of power makes you understand the gravity of your situation
>you cringe as he leans close to your ear

“I wasn’t sure of how to deal with that. I thought, maybe I’ll flog her? Brand her? But then I realized I would be making a martyr. And what if you didn’t break? Goodness, what a disaster that would end up being. I found myself in a pickle… until I found her.”

>He points to Apple Bloom with his finger, jabbing it in her direction
>>
>>29540289
“So, here’s what I’m going to do, Applejack. Rather than just flog you to pieces, as much as I would LOVE to whip you into bloody ribbons right now, I’ve decided to be more civilized. I’ll keep you nice and close to my home, and put you on labor duty on the manor instead. Your sister, on the other hand, will work in your old placement, away the manor. And guess what?”

>He presses up on your chin, and speaks softly
>every word drips venom, and the things he says next make you more afraid than any prospect of being flogged to death

“I’ll be watching you closely. Every time I see you, and I don’t like your work, if you don’t meet your quota… your little sister won’t eat. And every time you try something, give lip to my men, defy orders, inspire other ponies to resist? I’ll have your sister whipped. And every time she doesn’t get her rations or she feels the lash on her back, she’ll know. She’ll know it was all your fault.”

>He lets go of your chin, and your head falls down with a thud on the floor
>But this time, it stays there for a moment
>like the very weight of his words are pressing down your head, keeping it floored
>and when you lift it, the weight never lets up

>Apple Bloom’s face has blanked
>her jaw lays slack, and she lies motionless
>Tail and back legs still gripped by the man behind her

>You know she heard everything your Master just said.
>You can see it in her expression…
>>
>>29540294
“Alright, that concludes business here. Take Applejack up the steps to her new room, and take… Apple Bloom, was it? Take Apple Bloom off the manor grounds.”

>The suddenness of his orders, spoken with no regard to you or your sister, quicken your heartbeat
>and when you feel the men yank you up by your forelegs, letting your back legs drag on the floor, you feel panic grip your chest

“W--Wait! Wait, Master, m-my sister…”

>Apple Bloom gasps as the man behind her very roughly jerks her upright
>he wraps his arm around her middle, and hauls her into the air
>pressing her against his chest, and he begins to carry her away

>In a matter of a moment, you see Apple Bloom slipping away from you
>in your dreams, you had longed for a chance to embrace her, every day since the day you were separated
>and now, after seeing her in the flesh, so close to you, the thought of her slipping away was more painful than you could have possibly imagined

>you scream
>>
>>29540303
“N-No, NO! NOOO! NO, please, please Master, please…”

“Please, what?”

>He snaps back at you
>but the dragging does cease, and you come to a halt
>They twist you around, and you meet him eye to eye once again
>you stammer, and shamelessly plead, so desperate that you speak amid sobs

“Please, just let me hug my sister… let me have just one minute, just one… please, please, please…”

>The amusement on his face means nothing to you
>you care not that you’re totally breaking down
>you care not that he can see your will to resist shattered
>you need her
>you need her…

>Master walks to Apple Bloom, who is gasping
>she is pleading as well, in more subdued tones, for the same thing as you
>he looks first at you, then at her, and repeats this process three or four times

>he narrows his eyes, and then shakes the coiled whip in his hand at your prone sister
>>
>>29540309
“Well, Applejack, that depends. Is your sister willing to take ten lashes for it? Right here, in front of you?”

“YES! YES, I WILL! I’LL TAKE THEM!”

>Apple Bloom’s shout pierces the air
>You don’t even have a chance to process his question by the time your sister agrees
>Your mouth opens in unspoken words, not able to escape in time

>the two men holding you drop you onto the floor, and you land with a thud
>the same happens to your little sister

>Master shakes his head, and steps away to give you some room
>but he fiddles with the whip in his hands

“Alright, that’s that. 60 seconds. 59…”

>As he begins to count the seconds, you recover from your surprise, realizing that what’s said has been said
>your sister already agreed
>there was no objecting, no going back...

>Nothing else mattered, now
>weeping, you frantically pick yourself back up
>Apple Bloom springs forward, and for a moment, time slows down to a crawl
>a scene from your desperate, fevered dreams, suddenly realized
>>
>>29540315
>Her warm body collides into yours, and you wrap your hooves tightly around her shoulders
>you squeeze her tightly, and she squeezes you back
>Your hoof goes up to cradle her head, running it through her smooth, beautiful red mane

>you try to speak clearly, but you are crying so hard that they come out as hiccups
>Apple Bloom nuzzles into you, and you kiss her on the head, again and again
>broken stammers are interspersed with words

“Ap-ple Bloom, oh Apple Bloom, I l-love, I love you, I love you…”

>It was all you could think to say
>You rock her back and forth, rubbing the spot between her shoulders
>Apple Bloom sobs into your chest, shaking like a leaf

“I lo...love y’too, Applejack, sis… s-sis!”

>her voice cracks, and she weeps brokenly
>you kiss her again, the warmth of her body against you the only thing in your universe that matters to you

“Bloom, I-I’ll work, I’ll keep you safe... I won’t give up, Bloom, I love you… be strong, no matter what...”

“I… I will! I’ll be strong… I love you, big sis…”

>It all devolves into cries, sobs, and gasps
>no more words, just the tightest hug you can manage
>You never wanted to let her go…
>>
>>29540324
“...Zero. Alright, hold her down.”

>Your Master’s voice enters your realm of awareness
>and you feel the body of your sister suddenly being forcibly pulled away
>Your eyes shoot open, and a river of tears pour down your face
>a wavering, strangled sob escapes your throat
>and the feeling of your sister’s warmth leaving you leaves you feeling colder than ice

>It was what your sister had agreed to.
>Despite even your toughest grip, the powerful pairs of human arms tear your crying sister away from you, while another wraps around your neck
>Choking you, Master’s guard forces you back until you’re far enough away

>Across from you Apple Bloom’s forehooves are stretched out in front of her by one of the two men, while the other does the same for her back hooves
>She heaves with sobs and presses her face in between her hooves
>the reality of what was about to occur sinks in, and you can’t help yourself
>you beg for mercy as Master approaches, twirling the whip

“Master, please… please, I beg you, punish me… give me fifty, a hundred, please… please just punish me…”

>Master sighs
>shakes his head
>and raises his whip

“I am.”

>Outside, even on the outer limits of Master’s property, the cracks of the whip and the screams of your sister ring out in the air.

That's the end of this update.

I hope this wasn't too edgy, but there's a reason Applejack is so broken in this story.

I'll get to that at some point, just not now. You're right.

>>
>>Ask Star about how she got from Equestria to the border of Adraych. Gloria seemed to be curious as well.

>Carefully placing some deer jerky on slightly stale bread, you realize something.
>You still haven't figured out how Star left Equestria without knowing where she landed.
"How did you end up leaving Equestria without knowing where you were going anyway?"
>Star looks up from her hay, looking a little reluctant.
>Gloria visibly leans forward, obviously not noticing Star's discomfort.
>"So this'll be the first time you tell the story?"
"Y-"
>Star nods, hesitantly pulling out her slate.
>Wiping away the short answer, Star begins to write.
>"Where I come from, only unicorns can utilize teleportation magic for travel. In studying some old texts in Princess Celestia's library, I found unfinished notes on using objects as a focus for teleportation spells. I thought it a miracle, a spell that only required one energy expenditure but allowed anyp0ny to make use of instant transportation!"
>As she wipes the slate clean, you see Star frown.
>"I brought the notes home and realized they only needed a few changes. I swapped celestial energy for that of several unicorns and updated the nonsensical coordinate system."
>She wipes the slate clean again, frowning.
>Her story reminds you, yet again, how much of a magical powerhouse she must be.
>Nobody has re-written spells in recent memories, yet she writes it as if it's something anyone can do.
>"When I finished the spell a few weeks later, I wrote to Princess Celestia to tell her about my breakthrough. After I sent the letter, I got nervous that she would want I demonstration of the teleportation focus."
>After wiping away the slate, she tosses it aside and begins to write in the dirt.
>>
>>29541085

>"I had yet to test it, so before Celestia could respond, I gathered some friends to test it. For some reason, the spell required specifically a mirror as a focus. I set a big standing one up behind my house and with the help of a few local unicorns, I cast the spell. We tried to send Applejack, an earth pony friend of mine, through the mirror. She just ended up walking directly into the mirror, bumping her nose into the glass."
>Gloria gives a muted chuckle at that thought.
>"I checked the spell again and found that the destination coordinates had duplicated themselves, setting what I suspected was an anchor location for the spell. Changing the second set of coordinates took a lot of energy, causing me to stagger slightly at the unexpected expenditure. My horn made contact with the glass, somehow causing the mirror to shatter outwards. After waking up, I found myself in a forest, completely drained-"
>Writing now covers the ground around you.
>Despite the fact Star was still writing, Gloria interrupts her.
>"So that's where you met Anon? After the mirror spell failed?"
>If Gloria eyes practically shining with curiosity didn't give her excitement away, her tone certainly had.
>You shoot Star a nervous glance, knowing that this conversation was getting into dangerous territory.
>She returns your glance with a look akin to exhaustion, her withers slouching.
"Well-"
>Star beats you to the punch yet again, already scratching out a response.
>"Yes. The coordinates I gave were for the other side of town, but I ended up in a forest."
>Almost as an afterthought, she adds one final piece.
>"Then I met Anon and you know the story from there."
>At this point, you'd finished your sandwich and so had Gloria.
>Star's writing certainly wasn't slow, but it did take a while.
>"So how do you think you get back to Equestria?"
>You begin to pack up, with both Star and Gloria mimicking your actions.
>>
>>29541097

>"Well, I guess I'll just have to find a mirror and try the spell, maybe reverse the coordinates?"
>Throughout the exchange, Star avoids eye contact with you.
>Maybe she's worried you'll somehow give Gloria a hint as to the truth?
"Glass isn't hard to get, but metal clean enough for a mirror?"
>You pause for a second, she's still meeting avoiding your gaze directly.
>You'd think she'd realize you can keep a secret by now, it's been almost a whole day with Gloria.
"We might need to go a little deeper into the Empire for that."
>Smirking, Gloria raises a finger.
"Nope! Further down south, some chieftains have trinkets like that. Get on their good side and maybe they'll help you!"
"And that's easy to do?"
>"Well, no. I can't actually talk with those chieftains and..."
>Gloria looks down at your robes and gestures at them.
>"You might want to get rid of those, though."
"Well, that's an issue to deal with at another time."
>Either way would be dangerous.
>Your forged Guild membership might not hold up to the intense scrutiny up north, making getting into some of the nicer cities difficult.
>Down south everyone would want to kill you and only Star might prevent that.
>Key word being 'might'
>Gloria's laughter breaks you free from your thoughts
>"You're just afraid of white mages, aren't you?"
>Adjusting your robes, you respond without looking up.
"You aren't afraid of a camp of black mages?"
>She shrugs, as if you had asked her what she thought of the weather.
>"Well, yeah. Aren't you black mages supposed to fearless and bloodthirsty, though?"
>You barely refrain from laughing aloud, having covering your mouth with your hand for a second.
"And saving a unicorn and asking you to travel with us is bloodthirsty and merciless, right?"
>Your dad wasn't much of a black mage in terms of personality either.
>Gloria strokes her chin for a second, as if pondering your last statement.
>"Well, I guess you are a bit of a wimp."
"And y-"

>I hope this wasn't too edgy, but there's a reason Applejack is so broken in this story.

It was for me but I understand that it is an important element to follow the story.
>>

>Your retort is cut short by Star poking you with her horn.
>"We need to get going, unless you want to spend another night sleeping outside?"
"Well, you were the one telling us your life story..."
>Star rolls her eyes and starts to go without you.
>You guess you can't blame her for wanting to get to Falsecrest.
>It was just banter, though.
>The second she turns away, you rub the spot where she poked you.
>Those horns are sharper than they look.
>Whatever, you're just glad she's looking you in the eye again.
>Shouldering your bag, you catch up with the rest of your party.
~~~
>Before you arrive at Falsecrest, you make Gloria put on a spare pair of your leggings and a jerkin.
>"So where's the clothier?"
>Now she'a constantly talking in fake boy's voice.
>Star's laughing silently, you think it's just annoying.
>Shaking your head, you point at a turn off Main Street.
"Just follow that street, I can see the shop from here. Walk down Main Street to meet me at the herbalist."
>At least that's still the same.
>Hopefully the herbalist is still in business.
>Taking 60 Gold, she rushes off into the evening sun.
>Falsecrest has certainly changed since you were here as a teenager.
>You used to come here with your dad on hunting trips, a decent sized town that was a little rough around the edges.
>Now it's got twice as many buildings in the same amount of space, meaning only half of what you remember is still accurate.
>Streets you used to know are now alleys, and alleys you used to know don't even exist anymore.
>Star fidgets a little, obviously ready to get going.
>As you walk Main Street, you can tell that the town has gotten worse.
>You can hear some poor sap being beaten up ahead, cursing and grunts of pain.
>Leaning down, you grab the straps of Star's saddlebags and whisper in her ear.
"We can't get involved here. Just try not to look."
>While you know it isn't the best advice, you don't exactly have the time to explain gangs to Star.
>>
>>29541125
Not in my green dump!
>Do unicorns have gangs?
>Even if they did, you doubt Star would know.
>She seems to have hung mostly around the upper crust, not exactly the type to be harassed by gang members.
>You lead Star past the alley by the straps of her saddlebags, but can't help overhearing some of the abuse.
>"...don't give a shit if you weren't selling it, you need a guild license unless you're buyin'..."
>As you walk away, the sound of the blows raining upon the man lessens.
>Ah, guild disputes.
>Possibly even worse than gangs, although you didn't think there were any guilds this far south.
>Finally you reach the herbalist.
>The old man greets you with a crooked smile, slapping his hands down on his stall.
>"What can ah do fer ya, sir?"
"All I need are some Echo Herbs."
>He rubs his hands together.
>"How about 120 Gold? I know betta than ta get out more outta the guild."
>You rub the stubble on your chin, pretending to think about the price.
>This price is actually about half what you expected to pay.
>Even weirder, being a black mage normally made then raise prices, not lower them.
>Looks like this city has really changed.
"Alright, I'll take it."
>Reaching under his stall, the herbalist pulls out a jar with a few leaves of Echo Herb.
>"Just toss these in boiling water, make a tea out of it, and your Silence will disappear!"
>He punctuates the 'disappears' with a wave of both hands.
>You count out the proper amount of Gold and pass it to him.
"Thanks for the Herbs."
>He waves you off.
>"You can thank me by not getting me in trouble with the guild."
>You walk off, your slight worry juxtaposed by Star's clear excitement.
>A familiar voice suddenly interrupts your thoughts.
>"Hey Anon! How's it look?"
>Running up to you, Gloria wears a green skirt over your deerskin leggings.
>She gives a quick twirl obviously happy with her purchase.
"You just bought a skirt?"
Ah! My wall of green!
>Gloria frowns at you, planting her hands on her hips.
>"Well, these leggings are pretty nice and I figured I might as well just get one nice piece of clothing, rather than a whole crappy outfit."
>Shaking your head, you start off towards a nearby inn.
"I'm just not buying you a new skirt if that one gets dirty."
>Both she and Gloria begin to follow you, Gloria laughing at your last statement.
"What's so funny? It's a nice outfit you'll be wearing in the wilderness!"
>This time, Gloria is shaking her head.
>"You realize I come from a group of people who wear almost exclusively white in the 'wilderness', right?"
"How-"
>Turning to ask Gloria about the miracle of stain-free robes, you never see the giant of a man.
>He was standing right on the side of the street, right behind you.
>Naturally, you walk right into him.
>Turning to look at him, he's decked out on full chainmail, bow and quiver slung across his back, knife and longsword at his side.
>You try to look into his eyes, but they're almost covered by his shaggy brown hair.
"S-sorry about bumping into you."
>He lets out a hearty laugh, as if you'd just told him a fantastic joke.
>You want to leave, but he stares directly at you throughout his laughter.
>"You weigh half as much as me. I truly do not care that you bumped into me, my problem with you is completely different."
>He punctuates the 'you' by poking you in the chest with a gauntlet-clad fist.
"I don't actually know who-"
>He waves away your answer, letting out another, albeit quicker and quieter, chuckle.
>"This isn't a personal problem with you, you just don't have a guild license, do you?"
>Pulling out your forged Black Mage Guild papers, you hold them out towards him.
"Look, I have all my-"
>"Black Mage papers, for fuck's sake! I can see you're a black mage!"
>He waves at Star, who shrinks back.
>"I'm talking about your Medical Guild License!"
"Medical...?"
>He cracks his knuckles and out of the corner of your eye, you see a faint glow of mana around Gloria's hands
>Oh fuck.
>Out of nowhere, you hear a voice you haven't heard for years.
>"Luke, calm down! That's Simeon's kid."
>Practically out of nowhere, Asher begins to calm 'Luke' down.
>Luke turns to you, taking a second look.
>He slams a gauntlet-coated fist into his forehead, not even flinching.
>"Sorry, Asher. I never got to meet Simeon's family."
>Asher laughs, patting Luke on the back.
>"S'okay, I barely recognized him, myself!"
>Asher was one of your dad's friends, another hunter and a retired Black Battlemage of the Adrachian army.
>He retired and started hunting exotic creatures, like Cheshires and Lesser Drakes.
>Tuning out their conversation, you look at Asher more closely.
>He's decked out in the gray robes of a doctor, but you can see a staff strapped to his back.
>He looks the same, short black hair and piercing blue eyes on a consistently clean-shaven face.
>You haven't seen him for years, but he still seems the same.
>"...So he gets Simeon's License! Although I see he's got some good stuff already!"
>Luke salutes you, his voice much softer than before.
>"Sorry about that. Maybe I'll see you around?"
>He offers you an easy smile.
"Uhh...sure?"
>Luke walks off, his business concluded.
>Asher flashes you a smile, leaning down to whisper in your ear.
>"Why dontcha send the lady and the goods back to the inn and we'll talk?"
>Goods?
>Turning to Star and Gloria, you pass them enough gold for a room at the inn.
>You look at them, a pleading look in your eyes.
"Can you head over to the inn and get a room?"
>All of Star's previous excitement has drained away and Gloria just looks confused.
>"Okay. It's one we passed already, right?"
"Yep, don't let them overcharge you."
>Gloria just nods, nudging Star to get her going.
>>
>>29541174
>Asher whistles as they leave.
>"I gotta say, you're definitely Simeon's son."
>He shakes his head, looking down and laughing.
>"I mean using a virgin to lure unicorns for capture? You got some stones on you, kid."
>Everything clicks at once.
>Sudden growth in size, Medical Guild in control, Asher hanging around.
>It's hunter's boom town.
>Something that benefits medicine must've been found in the forest beyond Falsecrest.
>Well, there's only one way to find out.
"Yeah, I didn't realize this had become a boom town, though."
>Spreading his arms, he gestures at the town as a whole.
>"Falsecrest has become the greatest source of modern medicine in the whole Empire."
>He pulls out a vial of a crimson substance.
>"One drop of this stuff? Cure a few scrapes. Two, a life-threatening gash. Three? You can heal a hole blasted through your chest."
>He shakes it a little, causing the fluid inside slosh around.
>"Status ailments, disease, this stuff can do it all."
>Yep.
>Unicorn boom town.
"Yeah. Fantastic, all it costs is the life of a unicorn."
>Seeing your distress, Asher pats you on the back.
>"That one unicorn? It will save countless human lives."
>Distancing yourself from Asher, you begin to walk away.
"Yeah. I gotta go now, though. See you later."
>Asher steps closer
>"Aw come on! I know you use the peaceful method, but I can show you how to really catch a unicorn! Or if you don't want to do that, I can help you get a good price at the Guild's auction tomorrow!"
>>Head along with Asher to hunt a unicorn, but try to stop him during the hunt. It might not be subtle, but if you can save one...?
>>Head along with Asher to hunt a unicorn, but keep the unicorn to do what you wish with it.
>>Refuse Asher's offers and leave tonight. He's always been nice, but this is a little much for him.
>>Refuse Asher's offers and leave in the morning. Everyone would enjoy sleeping in a bed tonight.
>>Hit him in the face and run.
Leave the fucking town.
Someone will try to take Stars life for profit.
Make some excuse and hurry as fast as you can to the Inn and get as far away as possible.
You can cook the tea in the woods or something.
Alternative: ensure the safety of your companions and try to squeeze information out of Asher if possible.
I mean, her previous owner came off as a sadistic douchebag more interested in getting his jollies off by whipping ponies than actually running a successful business... but I suppose that was the point?
>>29541181
Prep for chasing a unicorn, but we're going to keep our prize. We need to figure out where the sudden burst of unicorns came from; it could very easily be one of Star's friends.
If it isn't, just a bog-standard unicorn... well, maybe we can earn ourselves a boon for releasing it. If it is, though, that's a whole new pile of risk.
And for everyone's sake cover our backs. Otherwise it could get real ugly and fast. Alert Gloria and Star both - Star's no slouch in magic, and can hold her own if it comes to that. Set up a rendezvous point if they have to flee.
>>
>>29541181
I agree. We wanna keep Star safe at all costs, but there's a good chance another unicorn isn't just a coincidence. Get everyone organised, complete with an escape plan and then send Anon in undercover for some unicorn rescue.
++++++++++++++EPILOGUE++++++++++++++
>One of the things you’ve grown to appreciate the most since you moved out into this rural, rugged stretch of the western United States is the rising and setting of the sun. Each day, the world’s greatest source of light and heat twice puts on a truly stunning display of light and of color.
>Early in the morning, you find yourself gazing out of your second-story window to the east. The first rays of sunlight are breaking, and can be seen shining against the few wispy clouds breaking the otherwise crystal-clear July skies. You count yourself lucky that you ended up with one of the two rooms on this side of the home, to be able to see this scene every morning in privacy.
>You open the window, and are immediately greeted by a cacophony of birdsong. The apple trees below your window are new, but the birds are already treating them like old friends. While they have ruined a few mornings you’ve planned to sleep in, it’s overall a nice addition to your day to listen to their songs.
>It’s a sharp contrast with the silence of the house. Up until a month or two ago, the loud clopping of Big Mac’s hooves leaving earlier than anyone else would be the only noise emanating from within. Now, though, even he wakes up at a reasonable hour, and the house is silent behind you.
>It’s been almost seven months since the incident, and not a day goes by that it hasn’t danced between your thoughts and graced your dreams. Initially, it was a constant thought, always occupying the front of your mind. Anon took it better, but Sweetie Belle was certainly in the same boat as you.
>>
>>29541825
>Now, though, the pain has subsided and the thoughts no longer sting as they once did. They’re brought back to your attention most often in the sunsets and sunrises you so cherish, as the long shadows and land bathed in an orangish glow both serve to remind you of the setting of that fateful evening.
>In the distance, you can see a black pickup and a corresponding trail of dust ambling toward the farm. That would be the security team relieving the overnight shift. Anon elected to hire them on indefinitely, just to be safe.
>With your magic recovered, and with Looking Glass advancing ever further in his studies, that’s probably not even necessary at this point. He’s a surprisingly powerful unicorn, and the two of you together could probably put down a riot of the farm’s entire population.
>Their presence won’t be needed for much longer anyway. After the harvest in a few months, the farm will drastically shrink in population. The bidding process for Anon’s patents is ongoing among the world’s leading seed and food distributors, and if their offers keep coming, he may end up one of the richest men in the country.
>The last crop will be collected, and the ponies will be given one final harvest celebration before being sold off on the market. A few favored individuals, like the ever-loyal and ever-working Cheese Sandwich, already have specially picked good homes to be sent to. The vast majority, however, will face the auction.
>At least the families should be kept together. That might make their living conditions a bit worse overall, but most would probably prefer to remain with their loved ones in misery than be separated in comfort.
>>
>>29541829
>Of course, some families have already been broken apart. Those involved with the past riots were sold off mercilessly, and torn from any family they might have had here. Even if Anon had wanted to be lenient on them, he would have been hard-pressed to do so. Nobody buys a pony who’s tried to kill his owner unless there are already plans in place to chain them down.
>As for the ponies residing in the big house… all of you will be staying, permanently. In the past few months you’ve grown from more than just friends and coworkers into what you can truly describe as a family. And with the fortune Anon has amassed and continues to obtain, there’s more than enough money to keep you all living with as much or as little work as you like indefinitely.
>You sweep your gaze once more across the landscape. Plains stretch out to a distant horizon to your front and right, while the creek and its thicket cut through the farm to your left. You’re glad the pony housing is on the west side of your home. Otherwise, every day this view would serve as a reminder of what you’ve left behind.
>Through your closed door, you can hear another one open, and the clip-clop of a set of hooves down the hall. Odd, Sweetie doesn’t usually wake this early unless she’s had a nightmare. Although they’re rarer now than they used to be, you’ll have to make sure she’s alright at breakfast.
>The decision to put your room on this side of the home and move Sweetie Belle to the room next to it was no accident. The working ponies barely tolerate you when you’re out in the fields. Seeing you perched in the windows of a luxurious mansion every morning would only heighten tensions further.
>>
>>29541834
>Thankfully, the other foreponies, managers, and guardsmen do a good enough job at watching over them. Nowadays, you mostly assist Anon with his research and spend time tutoring Looking Glass. The former may already be onto more lucrative strains of Equestrian crops, and the latter is always eager to learn more advanced magic techniques.
>He was especially ecstatic once he learned the Third Eye spell you’d personally crafted for him. The poor soul had lost most of the vision in his right eye, and now wore a patch to cover it. With the spell, which more resembled an enchantment than anything else for its duration and low magic draw on sustain, he can once more see with two eyes.
>The spell is another patent Anon is in the process of selling. The whole concept of owning and selling a spell seemed at first ridiculous to you, but that view wore off quickly once publishers started making offers.
>By now, the sun has risen almost completely above the horizon. You shut and lock the window, realign your mane with a bit of magic, and head out into the hall.
>Just as your door closes, the door to Anon and AJ’s room opens. Out walks an orange pony, signature cowboy hat and now-precious necklace adorned on her head and neck. The accessories complement each other well, coupling the aesthetic of a rugged farmer with an aristocratic beauty.
>”Well hey, Starlight!” she says cheerfully but quietly, careful not to wake anyone still sleeping in the hall. “How’d ya sleep?”
“I slept fine, thanks,” you answer, matching her hushed tone. “Although I don’t know about Sweetie. Heard her walking downstairs about ten minutes ago.”
>”Aw shoot. Been two weeks since her last nightmare. Y’think that’s what it is?”
You shake your head, “I hope not. Maybe she just woke up early and the birds didn’t let her settle back down.”
>>
>>29541838
>”Maybe, maybe. One thing’s for sure though, that filly wouldn’t be up at this hour without a reason,” she chuckles softly.
>The two of you descend the stairs to find the living room unlit and silent. Lights shine from the kitchen, where Sweetie appears to be starting breakfast. Leftovers are gone, so you all have to cook up something new.
>”Morning Starlight, morning AJ,” she says without turning to you, instead focusing on removing several cartons of eggs from the fridge. “I figured we could just make scrambled eggs. It’s easy and everyone likes it, right?”
>”Don’t forget the bacon,” Applejack comments lightheartedly. “Starlight n’ Anon won’t eat eggs without it.”
“Why would we? It’s not like we ever run out of the stuff.”
>The three of you each get to work starting breakfast, and one-by-one members of the household begin to trickle downstairs. On most days, you and AJ would have been the last ones down, but it’s a Saturday in the slow season. Lyra is the last to arrive and help out with the cooking, bright and awake as ever.
>With eleven members of the household to cook for, and three of them earth ponies, you always need to make a big breakfast. Generally, you’ll make two or three days of food at a time to avoid cooking later, but on the weekends there isn’t much reason not to take the extra time to cook up something fresh each morning.
>Coffee, milk, tea, and lemonade are all poured out with the meal, and the breakfast table is as lively an affair as ever. Within the warm, comforting walls of the massive home, laughter echoes and good times are fostered. It’s a great improvement over the cold, loud, and unwelcoming breakfasts you’d once shared with the workers.
>One by one, you each finish and migrate into the living room. Its seating arrangements are more than enough for all of you to find a spot, and the group settles in, chatting idly as it waits for the main event to begin.
>>
>>29541843
>For all its wrongdoings, humanity had certainly done something right in commercializing pegasus airshows and races. It’s such a wild success that massive pro events have already started organizing. This morning is the opening ceremony for the first of its kind, the First Annual Pegasus Cup.
>Unfortunately, it’s only the opening ceremony for today. The rest of the events will trickle in throughout the week, mostly in the afternoons and evenings to capture the most American viewers.
>The broadcast takes about an hour, and when it’s done, each of you reluctantly rise to attend to your duties. Some go out to check in with guards and monitor the small amounts of work being done across the farm, while others, like yourself and Anon, tend to other business.
>Your experiences with science and magic both lend themselves to his experiments. It’s here, in the home’s basement laboratory (an actual laboratory, unlike most ‘labs’ found across rural America), that he really becomes the man you’ve come to call a true friend. Twilight would be proud.
>Here, he breeds plants, splices their genes, and creates hybrids the likes of which you’d never think possible. With magic accelerating their growth and sometimes producing unique results, the two of you likely have a highly lucrative business plan that’s honestly enjoyable.
>Of course, you won’t be cultivating anything developed here. Anon has learned his lesson on that front.
>But your lab work today is limited. Reluctantly, you leave the clean, well-lit room and ascend back into the now-empty home. Well, not empty, but much quieter. Looking Glass studies in the library, and below him in the same double-decker room Scootaloo sits behind Anon’s desk leafing through paperwork.
>>
>>29541848
>You quietly peek in on their otherwise silent habits, earning nothing more than a polite wave from each before they return to their tasks. Behind Scootaloo, the wall-mounted collage of photographs has grown considerably. Ringing its outer edges are the orange and red manes of Ruby Heart and Sunny Streak, along with the mint green and purple coats of Lyra and yourself, with Looking Glass occasionally working his way into the pictures as well.
>You close the door as quietly as possible and determine what it is you should do for the day. You could probably just sit around and watch TV, but you still feel uncomfortable doing nothing to help out in this hospitable and generous setting.
>You already cleaned the entire house last night. It took an entire ten minutes with your magic to whisk away every last dust particle in the massive building. And there’s plenty of food left over from last night’s meal, so it’s probably not worth your while to start cooking anything.
>You would study, but by now you’ve already gone through every magic book you own. And with the next one you ordered arriving no earlier than tomorrow, the prospect of finding something new to peruse is fleeting.
>Perhaps you should just go help the others make sure the farm is running smoothly. It’s a big place, and no matter how many foreponies or guards are around to watch over it, extra eyes and ears are always helpful. The ponies may not talk to or even look at you anymore, but that doesn’t mean you can’t help corral them.
>Levitating yourself up with magic, you opt to go check in on the deconstruction site for the housing expansion that had started all your problems. Or at least, it had been a catalyst for the worst of them. With no unicorns to occupy the buildings and no plans to ever acquire more, all that can be done is to tear down the half-finished construction. Without your magic, the project is proceeding slowly.
>>
>>29541852
>One pony on the crew catches your eye. A bright orange coat, belonging to an earth pony you’d once hoped to befriend. When you look his way, he’s occupied with something else, but a quick cast of Third Eye confirms your suspicions and reveals him staring at you with an expression somewhere between frustration and anger.
>Best not to hurt him. After all, you’ve already pulled a few strings to make sure he’s treated well by his future owner.
>You get a curt acknowledgement from Frostfern, the earth pony who had once shared responsibility with you in equal amounts. Now himself shunned by many on the farm, he’s the only one at the job site who even acknowledges your presence.
>He’s another one of the few who have good homes lined up for the future.
>Finding no reason to stick around, you fly out from the deconstruction site and examine the fields from above. Below, at the intersection of two roads running between large, green and growing fields of barley, you spot Applejack and her little sister discussing something. They spot you, and each sends off a warm smile and a wave in your direction.
>All seems fine in the fields. Another slow day, with little of note occurring. Compared to the frenzy of the harvest season when you’d first come here, the farm is quiet and mellow.
>…Too quiet and mellow. Spotting a yellow form curled up in a ditch a field away from the Apples, you descend to the ground with a tinge of annoyance. Ever since you got here, this fucking mare has been sleeping in the fields nearly every time you find her.
“Sweet Dreams! Up and at ‘em!” you shout, jolting the mare from her light slumber. “Sleep well?”
>The mare sighs, “As good as I can, I suppose. I’m guessing my usual excuse, that sleeping is my special talent, isn’t going to save my flank today either?”
>>
>>29541855
“Yeah, that sounds about right.” You look to each side. Not many ponies in this part of the farm, and the others are tending to there work like Sweet Dreams should be doing.
>”Just don’t use the magic directly this time. I don’t know why but that stuff hurts more than anything else.”
“What’s the usual punishment again? Ten strikes?” you ask, already sure of the answer as you pick up a nearby stick with your magic.
>”Across the flank or rear, yes. Just don’t be too hard, please. I’m used to it, but the harder hits can still hurt later.”
>Without much more fanfare, you bring the stick down upon her rear ten times in quick succession. Of all the times you’ve ever punished a pony on this farm, she probably accounts for at least half of them. At this point, the interactions are nothing new to either of you, and no further words are exchanged as she gets to her work and you fly off to finish your rounds.
>With no other incidents, you head back to the house. Maybe Glass has finished his reading, and can entertain you with some magic lessons.
>But instead, you walk into the living room and find a very tired and very socially-deprived Scootaloo settling into her spot on the couch. Spotting you, she motions for you to come over and take a seat next to her.
>”It’s done, finally,” she says as you plant yourself on the cushions.
“Done? What’s done?”
>”The plans to see Dash. It took an absurdly long time to get all the paperwork done, but we finally have a date, time, and place for our meetup. Ever been to San Diego?”
“Only Montana, Idaho, and Washington.”
>”When’d you go to… ah, never mind. But yeah, three weeks from now, we rented out a whole floor of a hotel there. Dash and Buster are going to fly out on our dime, and we’re gonna get a full week of beach and relaxation time with them.”
>>
>>29541862
“It’ll be nice to finally see her again in the flesh. And meet Buster too, I suppose. Hope he’s as cool as she says he is.”
>”I really just hope all of us can get some good leisure in. Especially those two, you know how busy things have gotten for them lately.”
“Heh, Dash still sends me email updates on her life almost every single night, you know. AJ gets entirely different messages, too.”
>”I’m guessing you’re going to be getting an especially long one tonight?”
“Maybe, maybe. But you figured out what to do with the farm while we’re gone?” That had been one of the most difficult nuts to crack. Laws regarding ponies being left home alone are convoluted to say the least.
>”I got one of the neighbors’ teenage sons to come over and stay at the house while we’re gone. The security guys will be in charge of everything, but as long as he’s coming over and staying here, we can’t get fined or whatever.”
“I’m guessing we’re paying him for that?”
>”Two grand. Chump change, but of course he’s happy about that.”
>If there’s anything this household has to throw around, it’s money. Technically speaking, every one of you could buy a new sports car every year and you still have enough in the bank and investments to live comfortably for the rest of your lives.
>The two of you sit in silence for a moment, the topic at hand discussed as much as either of you would like. You’ll probably hear it all again at dinner.
“So, I’m bored. Anything on the agenda for tonight?”
>”We could go flying,” she shrugs.
“Already did that. Anything else planned this weekend?”
>”Church tomorrow, then the Pegasus Cup starts tomorrow night. That’s really it.”
>>
>>29541867
>The human religions are… interesting. With them all accepting it readily, it was easily predicted that Anon and the ‘original’ members of his family would try to introduce the rest of you to it. Ruby and Glass have already taken the faith in full stride.
>You’re not sure if you’re ready to believe it just yet, but you have to give them credit for the thoroughness. Religions and cults in Equestria were a lot more basic in both foundation and details.
>You’re also not unwilling to attend services with them each week. In those faith-fueled speeches are some very strong, very agreeable lessons and morals. Some have even given you inspiration and hope when you needed it, especially in those middle and late winter months.
>But what you enjoy most of all about the trips is the companionship. Sometimes in the cabin, sometimes seated comfortably in the truck bed, there’s always merry chatter and good times to be had traveling to and from town. With evenly-spaced homes, paved streets, a public park and plenty of shops, the town is a microcosm that can ward off your troubles like nothing else.
>Once upon a time, ponies came to a town you founded for the same thing. But those poor souls didn’t have what you do. They didn’t have a family to go with.
>Eventually, evening starts to set in, and the home’s residents trickle back in. Anon comes up from the basement, proudly displaying a new sample to test and taste with tonight’s dinner. Lyra, Ruby, and Sunny walk in the front door together, laughing about some pegasus who crash-landed into a mud puddle.
>>
>>29541872
>The Apples arrive next with Sweetie Belle, looking slightly more tired than the previous group. But when Scootaloo gathers everyone to relay the same information she told you earlier, their expressions brighten, and a glimmer of hope sparkles in each of their eyes.
>A week of time spent with an old friend, away from any trouble of farm work, of business, or of ponies. A sliver of life dedicated only to bonding, leisure, and luxury. A taste of times to come.
>You’re all looking forward to it.
>…
>>
>>29541880
>A few months later, the guards pack up and head home for the last time. All but one residence on the property lays abandoned, and all but one will be demolished by the end of the year. The sun sets once more on the suddenly idyllic and uncharacteristically peaceful Sweet Wheat Acres, the only sounds coming from the faint chirping of crickets and muffled voices calling a toast inside the land’s well-lit central mansion.
>The sun sets once more on eight marked gravestones, laying beneath a grove of eight new apple trees.
End.
Pastebin at http://pastebin.com/TnWCRgzK for anyone not caught up. It's finally done. It's not perfect and I would have changed a lot if I did it again, but overall I feel the quality is good. But above all, I learned a lot, and this is probably nice for my first real foray into long-term fiction writing.
I'll be starting another story almost immediately, same universe with Dash. It will be much slower to release though, as I have more going on and I'm also starting up an actual novel (have a really strong plot and setting for once and I'm going to run with it). Also, come summer that story will be put on hiatus for 10 weeks when I get shipped to basic training.
Thank you all for feedback and for staying on my ride, and don't forget, Pinkie Pie is worst pone
I'm a new reader to your fic, I sort of spoiled myself by getting interested right before Cloud Skimmer's death and read on from there without going back to the beginning.
Out of curiosity because I want to know if this was part of what you were expecting or if it was always mean to be subjective: am I supposed to be finding myself REALLY hating Starlight and a good portion of the house ponies/Anon by the ending?
>>
>>29542070
Interpret and react to it how you like. I've had an ending like this in mind since the beginning, something ambiguous on whether it's good or bad, right or wrong. Starlight's happy, her friends are happy, Anon is happy and AJ is happy. That's a good ending for every major character in the story.
You might gain a lot of extra context if you go back and read, though. You basically started reading at the "beginning of the end" update.
Twiligth is the worst pony
It was not bad, although I lack a little more interaction between Anon and the other ponies, especially Applejack, maybe the only thing I did not like much was how easy it is for Glimmer to cope with the death of the other ponies, but I imagine that in reality There was nothing else she could do, it was fun trying to follow your extensive updates until the end, I can say that the end was right.
I will keep an eye on your future stories
Any story where ponies are kept as food animals? They're not even treated poorly. She really might have some latent thoughts and feelings for Anon in Celestia's Maiden Voyage. She probably is still coming to grips with them. After all, how could she start thinking that way about a human when so many awful things had happened to her because of them?
I'm not saying that she's hungry for his cock, but I am saying that her feelings of intense guilt and worthlessness may lead her to start thinking of how she could possibly make it up to Anon for wasting his time and resources on her, in the only way she feels she can.
"I can't keep track of her all the time. Where at all possible, I need you to keep her bottled up in the manor with little tasks."
> Anonymous grimaces a the thought.
> "I'll ask Randall about that. It'll be tricky, though - being out there is technically supposed to be her job."
"And whenever we have something to do together, she's perfectly welcome to do it."
> "Alright. What else?"
"When she is out in the camp working with me, I need her under my authority. As if she was one of your own."
> This draws an even-deeper frown from Anonymous, and you shake your head.
"It's not a dominance spat, Anonymous. Trust me on that."
> "That's not what I'm concerned about. The problem is you can't really punish her, because despite 'as ifs' she isn't one of mine and there are laws about injuring other people's ponies."
> You have to restrain a roll of your eyes.
> Of course there'd be something to protect ponies as property, but nothing to protect them just for being living, thinking beings.
> "You'd have to report her to Randall... unless you can prove that she is immediately causing measurable injury to me or my property."
"If she's really got a grip as tight on Randall as she said she does, that's a joke."
> "It's your only option. I'm sorry."
> Huffing through your nostrils and tails flicking, you nod.
"It'll have to do..."
> "I'll try something extra, though. Feeling out Randall a bit, seeing how much he knows about what's going on with his slaves..."
> The slightest touch of a smile graces your lips.
> That he instantly accepted your word without asking for time or proof was a statement on how much he trusted you.
> A moment later that thought sours as Haute Glamour's words come back to you.
> He relied on you because you'd made yourself useful to him.
> Nothing more.
"Okay. I'll deal with it."
> "Good."
>>
>>29546328
"And.. one other favor if I can ask... when she's up here in the manor - for the good of both of us, keep her well away from Flurry Heart and Megan. If it she gets her hooks into them..."
> "Agreed. Well away from them."
"Thank you, Anonymous."
> Stepping from the room, you resist the urge to slips downstairs and check on Flurry Heart - while Megan went to school during the day, your daughter was not yet allowed to go with her.
> Halfway down the stairs, though, pony you'd barely noticed detaches herself from the wall ahead and struts towards you with that familiar, hip-swinging walk.
> You weren't quite able to keep the surprise from your face - how had she snuck up on you?! - but you're quite able to wipe it from your face and quickly put on a more positive expression.
> Haute, for her part, simply shoots you a smirking grin as she stalks past on the way back up towards the meeting room.
> Had she heard you talking to Anonymous?
> The room wasn't exactly soundproof, but you had closed the door...
> But maybe she was just sharing her amusement at your 'manipulating' Anonymous?
> Shivering softly, you wait until she is out of sight before retreating back to the camp.
"Right, mares and gentlecolts, here's our situation."
> Looking around at the sixteen or so ponies around the table, you're met by a repertoir of early-morning bleary eyes, but attentive ears.
"I don't think I have to tell anypony here, someponies are a little bit upset by what's been happening as of late and decided to make sure we know about it."
> "Astralia quit 'cause of it. You don't have to tell us, Thunderlane!"
> You nod in the direction of the comment, ignoring the low 'oof' that follows it as somepony gets a light kick in the shin for their effort.
"Well, you're right. We've been feeling it most of all, and it's going to get worse."
> A collective groan comes from the table, at least until you raise a wing to silence them.
>>
>>29546333
"Look. Right now, there's a lot of anger brewing in the camp. It's not as out there as it once was, but it's still a problem. For starters, we're pretty sure at this point that somepony is running another 'museum', and that's only going to drive more and more aggression."
> "So, we have to root it out."
"Exactly."
> A sour look passes over your face, accompanied by a shake of your head.
"It's not a job any of us like, but I'd rather deal with this now than have to really take somepony down hard when they get egged on to doing this."
> There are a few nervous shuffles around the room, but eventually another one of the guard ponies speaks up.
> "Y'all know he's right. Much as we hate t'say it, we're all here 'cause we decided it'd be better t'take a soft hoof with somepony early on than wait for it t'get real bad."
> From his spot across the room Seismic Shift concurs:
> "Yeah. 'specially with the rumors of even more ponies coming in soon, we've gotta get a lid on this before gets too big."
> "So Thunderlane, what's our plan? We've kinda got to find this thing before we can do anything about it."
"Well, that's exactly the reason I've brought you all together here. I want to know - if anypony has a good idea about how to get this dealt with the least struggle and chaos we can manage."
> "We should just talk straight to ponies. Let 'em know we aren't going to be arresting them or anything, but we gotta know where this thing is."
> "No way! If we do that, they'll just clamp down on locking out any pony who doesn't share their views!"
> "That's the least likely thing if we just ask. It's not like we're forcing them to give it up."
"So, you're talking about what - offer a reward for anypony who comes forward and gives us a tip?"
> "Exactly. It's the best way - nopony's gonna claim we're being - what's the word, oppressive? If we just offer rewards."
>>
>>29546141
Something looks really fucking weird about this when opened.
>>
>>29546343
> Having been 'just offered a reward' being how you were first forced to turn traitor on the camp, you aren't sure if you agree with that but you keep your mouth shut.
"Okay, there's that. The most direct option is to sweep the whole camp in one, continuous run - we're pretty much guaranteed to find it, but things could be... ugly if they do."
> A murmur of agreement runs around the table - nobody likes the idea of having to force their way into every nook and cranny, no matter how effective it could be.
> Across the table, Seismic Shift gestures to you.
> "What about your friend? Th'one who was in the Guard back home?"
"Granite Cleave? What about him?"
> "You're trying to bring him into the guard anyhow, right? Seems pretty impressed with you already? Maybe he could ask around, build us an idea of where to look."
> "Use him as a mole, you mean?"
> Another mare gives Seismic a skeptical look; the larger stallion shrugs.
> "It'd bring this down with th'least impact, though."
> "The most trust lost, though!"
> "Not any more than if we offer a reward to anypony."
"Alright, we'll consider it. Fourth option, we all put in extra hours at night trailing ponies we think are active in any resistance - see who and what they might be delivering something too, where they might be dropping things off to."
> That yields another round of groans, though you suspect it has more to do with the prospect of the few hours you do have to yourselves every day lost to yet more patrols.
"It'll be rough on all of us, but much easier on everypony else. They all know where we stand - what our job is."
> A long silence follows, as they all look between each other.
> Finally, another pony speaks up again:
> "There is a fifth option... those two who put up all that stuff with the paint they stole. We could go put a hoof in their ribs for a bit."
> "Are you seriously suggesting beating a fellow pony until they tell us? What in Tartarus is wrong with you, Sacks?"
>>
>>29546367
"Agreed. I won't tolerate that - we're here to protect ponies, not harm them."
> "Oh, for - I didn't mean literally kick them! Just - tell them what Thunderlane just told us. Remind them if anypony gets hurt, it's their fault."
> "They only know their third."
> "Do you know that?
> This time more ears turn to listen, and a few ponies nod thoughtfully.
"Alright. Let's take a few minutes to talk this over, and then we'll choose."
So, what's our path?
> Just stick to offering rewards
> Perform a massive sweep-through of the camp (carefully avoiding locations you don't want to be discovered)
> Ask Granite Cleave try and infiltrate the would-be resistance
> Stick to night observation (this could take a while)
> Have Mellowheart and Stormbreaker interrogated again.
>>
>>29546374
>> Have Mellowheart and Stormbreaker interrogated again.
This. With hard whipping.
>>
>>29546374
Being passive isn't working. The resistance is upping their game, so we have to respond in kind, which means applying more pressure. We should be past the point of offering rewards, as anyone who was willing to help would have done so already. Plus, if the resistance finds out that the regular ponies are more likely to sell them out, then they'll go to ground and we'll never find them.
Performing a massive sweep-through might be the best option, as circumstances are now getting to the point where it's now warranted. This has been going on for too long, and this powder keg needs to be hosed down as quick as possible before something really bad happens.
With that said, we're not going to ask a fellow pony to deceive and stab others in the back. We can do our job without being deceitful and treacherous about it.
Night observations are taking too long, and by the time we finally find what we're looking for, it might be too late. However, if no other option, than this one, at the very least.
It might be worth interrogating the prisoners again. The third perp that's still at large could be a vital component of the resistance, and finding this instigator should be a priority.
>>
>>29546450
A full sweep brings its own problems. It'd look like the Gestapo coming to town, which means an even worse image of the ponyguard. It'd be easy for a lookout to spot, and then they could go to ground. It might stumble into something it shouldn't, and screw up good relations if it finds some minor recreational rule breaking, like a poker game or a makeshift still or something. It could agitate a minor grumbling into more support for the rebels. And to top that all off, Sunburst's plan is too compartmentalized to know where not to search or the full extent of preparation. We could easily ruin the best chance at freedom we could possibly have.
That being said, it is the most reliable option to find the hidden museum, and might find something brewing that we haven't even discovered yet. Would let us take care of it before it becomes an issue.
I think the vandals should be our first option. They're clearly in the same mindset, and might be in the same circles. They've probably heard something. It's just a matter of how to convince them we're right to shut the museum down. If Thunderlane talks to the nurse and explains that ponies are getting angrier, and how if it escalates much further it'd be put down with violence and there's nothing the ponyguard could do to stop that, she might be willing to help.
When we get some info to protect him. They really cater to fairly different interests.
Why not become a writefag capable of carrying a thread on your own shoulders and restart it? It honestly doesn't need to be good, just barely above shit. One author consistently posting is enough to keep a thread alive long enough to attract more writers.
Changing Lifestyles and Regards, Anon.
In the first one the freedom effort wasn't very organized; in Regards it's pretty much only in the end.
I can't think of any others were legitimate resistance was ever on screen.
One or two have mentions of work to improve their legal situation, like how Geologic Assistant Anon pushes for full and official recognition of Maud's scholarly contributions.
Deal is a Deal seems posed to have something major happen.
Deep down, despite everything, I think Rainbow does feel grateful that Anon is someone who won't torture and rape her, even though that's all she feels like she deserves. And with all her efforts to trade herself for Fluttershy, there's obviously some part of her left that she feels she can give for someone else, even her own life.
She wanted to stab herself to death after failing Jacob's test, but rather than do it herself, she begged Anon to kill her instead. I don't think that's a result of cowardice, but something else: I think she hated herself so much that rather than just end her own life, she wanted Anon to give her the punishment of death that she felt she deserved. She wanted him to kill her for the imposition she felt that she caused him.
She doesn't feel worthy of love or care.
For example we could introduce an informant in his group pretending a raid to look for agitating elements and at the precise moment the mole intervenes trying to fight with the guards, they "arrest" him, take him to the base and "interrogate" him and he is released a couple of days later, surely the rebels when they see their value try to include it in their ranks
> In the end you decide to take a multi-pronged approach.
> At this rate, a sweep is definitely going to be necessary - things are building far too quickly to wait for observation or an offered reward to pay off..
> But that didn't mean you couldn't try to combine it with other measures.
> And so you find yourself trotting through the halls of the medical clinic, looking for the one particular burst of earthen mane matched to the snow-white scrubs all the nurses wore.
"Nurse Mellowheart?"
> "Ye-"
> The mare's voice dies as she turns to face you, her eyes going narrow and ears laying down.
> "...Thunderlane."
> Sighing softly, you drop your own head a bit - this wasn't a dominance fight, and you didn't need to make it one.
"Can we speak to you for a moment? In private?"
> For a moment she seems ready to snap back, turn this into another fight - but perhaps seeing your own willingness to step back, Mellowheard just nods instead.
> You - along with another stallion in the guard - follow her in.
> As soon as the door closes she spins on her hooves, mouth set in a thin line.
> "What do you two want from me."
> Caught off guard by her suddenly-aggressive approach, you reel back for a moment before catching up.
"...we want to help everypony, Nurse. Same as you do."
> "Tirek-shit. What do you want from me? Because I'm well and sure two guards in uniform coming to look for me isn't just so you can tell me about a colt who's hurt his hoof and needs a band-aid."
> Groaning gently, you twist your head around and extend a wing to rub against your already-aching skull.
"We - we're not lying, Nurse. We really do want to help everypony. But... from you."
> With a shake of your head and a sigh,
"...the third member of your group. The unicorn. We need to know who he is."
> "I knew it..."
"Mellowheart-"
> You snort, pausing to compose yourself.
>>
>>29555467
"Look. Things are getting... worse. Ponies are getting harder, more aggressive. And it's not going to be getting any better unless somepony does something."
> "Of course it won't. We're slaves."
> You resist the urge to snarl out a response, now keeping your breathing steady.
"Mellowheart, please - listen! We're not just looking to punish. It's - it's not what I want either! But I'm worried. Tartarus - I'm scared. What happens if things do run out of control?!"
> "Then maybe everypony will actually wake up and see what he's doing to us."
"What he's doing - have you looked outside recently?"
> "No! No, I haven't, because I've had to spend my entire waking time on extra duty because you dragged me in to be put up on that stage to be - be humiliated by Cadance in front of that entire crowd! Even after I told you I wouldn't get involved in this anymore!"
> ...oh.
> Yes.
> She was still on her punishment that she'd received, after her third counterpart hadn't made him - or her - self known.
"He is listening to us. He's given us a way to bring our concerns to him, even letting us build a place to remember Equestria."
> This time it is Mellowheart's turn to look away, and you know that you're on to something.
"Wasn't this what you said you were afraid of? That he was going to make everypony 'forget'?"
> "Yes..."
"Then look at this! If ponies kick back now, we'll loose that. We'll be falling into exactly what you were scared of."
> Huffing a lungful of air out through her nostrils, Mellowheart falls to her haunches.
> "Then tell me this, Thunderlane: When does it end?"
> You cock your head, and Mellowheart continues - tail lashing.
> "We - we stop now. Maybe we even turn around and stop ponies who are pushing back. And... then what?"
> She hisses softly, eyes squeezed shut and head drooping.
> "Does it ever stop? Are we ever free? Does he stop him?"
>>
>>29555470
"I don't know, Mellowheart. But it's a sure thing that if we push back, if we fight, it'll be the end of any freedom we do have."
> "We don't 'have' freedom! We're - gifted, at best, our little 'freedoms' by Anonymous."
"And the point still remains, we lose that!"
> You don't like getting into another argument, but she's cracking.
> "I'd... heard about the 'museum', they're calling it. Is it real...?"
> Why does she ask you?
> Or maybe she's asking herself.
"It is. Really real. I donated something of my own to it - a recreation of an old Wonderbolts' poster."
> Mellowheart looks up in surprise.
> "He allowed that?"
"At long as it's not promoting rebellion here, now, with violence - he seems to be okay with it."
> Scraping her hoof back and forth on the floor, Mellowheart stares into the distance.
> "I don't believe it... why would he want us to do that? I've treated ponies whipped, broken..."
> An idea occurs to you.
"Mellowheart, are you really busy right now? Are we taking you from anything?"
> She snorts.
> "No more or less busy than we normally are."
"So, it wouldn't be a disaster - nopony's going to die - if we take you for a bit?"
> "N-No... why?"
"We're going to take a walk. For security reasons. We're allowed to do that."
> A spark of fear has crept into her eyes.
> "Why? Where are we going?"
"Over to where the museum is now, and then to where the new building is being built, so you can see for yourself what it is."
> Though not entirely at ease, that at least quiets Mellowheart as you walk with her.
> When she lays eyes on the 'museum' - much improved since you first visited, but still very rough - at first Mellowheart seems unimpressed.
> The more she walks through it, though, the more you can see the shield she'd built around her heart break down.
> Disbelief, disgust, all flowing away.
> Eventually she comes to a halt, simply looking around.
> "I don't understand... why?"
>>
>>29555479
> You'd walked a close but reasonable distance behind her for most of the experience, not wanting to seem overbearing.
> Even now you don't directly approach, letting Mellowheart question herself.
> "He'll take it away eventually... he has to take it away. Ponies will remember like this - they'll want to go back..."
"But he isn't. He's letting us do this."
> She nods, still looking around.
> Her eyes fall on the poster you'd donated.
> "...half thought you were lying to me. That a - a -"
"A guard-pony would give to this? A traitor?"
> Beside you the other guard who'd accompanied shifts uncomfortably, but remains silent.
> You'd have to remember to thank the stallion again for letting you do this yourself.
"I'm not lying when I say I want this for the rest of us. And I'm not lying when I say I'm terrified we'll lose it if rebellion goes through."
> "It always will. We either fight back... or we're crushed into nothing."
"True or not, we have this now. Isn't this worth hanging on to? A chance to remember?"
> There's a long silence, and eventually her head falls with a massive sigh.
> "What do you want him for?"
"We need to talk to him. We're afraid somepony is going to try and push back on Anonymous again."
> "You think he would?"
"He was among the first to take action before. He might again."
> She does not reply.
"Isn't it better that we should go to him now? Before he does something big, gets caught, and then has to suffer something worse than-"
> "Promise me."
> Her voice is low, almost sounding ready to crack.
> "Swear to me that's all it is. Just talking to him. Nothing more. I won't sell him out."
> Beside you, your partner finally stirs.
> "He sold you out - left you to be 'humiliated' up on that stage."
> "I don't care!"
> Mellowheart spins around, eyes blazing to skewer the stallion.
> "I won't turn him in for punishment. He acted right. We all did. The need to speak up, to have ourselves heard - it was real!"
> Next, those eyes land on you.
> "You're right, Thunderlane. This is something worth protecting. But I won't give him up for that. I will protect him. You want me to turn traitor? Then you swear to me he will be safe."
> You choke on an answer.
> Not just because you can't promise that for certain - you don't make the rules, Cadance will certainly feel the pressure from the manor not to let him go.
> But because somewhere in her voice, you hear another:
> An angry stallion, standing up to the man who owned him.
> Making him swear that if he was going to turn - to become a secret traitor - then his little brother would have to be safe.
>It was a relatively warm fall morning, and as Rainbow Dash packed the last of her meager belongings into a suitcase, she could still hear his feet shuffling outside the bedroom door.
“Dash, I really don’t know about this. It’s not too late to call this off, you know. We can set the price higher, o-or I can spend some time making sure-“
“Fuck off, Damien,” Dash interrupted. “I am completely, positively, one hundred percent sure this is how I want it, you cum-soaked faggot. Unless this guy is some disheveled madman or something, it’s final.”
>With reluctance, Damien backed off and walked back down the hall. He’d worked for over four years for the one thing all his money could never buy him: the love of his life. He’d spent countless hours doting on her, fulfilling her whims and wishes, but to no avail.
>When the ponies had first entered the country, there was only one pegasus he ever looked for. Finding her at a high-profile auction in Dallas, he outbid the nearest competitor by seven figures. Really, it was a steal given the mare in question.
>But his hopes and dreams soon proved difficult to realize. When he’d first told her of his uncompromising love, she was “creeped out.” When he followed up that claim for years, tirelessly trying every play in the book to help her grow on him, her reaction never changed.
>He never tried to force himself on her, or even play mind games to force love to spawn. Those would be impure, false forms of love, and he’d never be able to live with the great Rainbow Dash if she couldn’t honestly, truly love him back. He was a waifu purist, if you will.
>Finally, she’d had enough and asked one final favor: release. Not full, free release, because that’s not legal in Alabama, but resale under a false name and very generalized description at an exceedingly low price.
>>
>>29555624
>Most people buying “budget ponies” were prepared for what they were going to take in. Bruises, scars, psychological issues, rebellious attitudes, histories of crime, and severe injuries were all common among them. They were usually only bought in bulk by industrial companies or individually by the poor.
>Aiming to sell to the latter, he agreed to put up a listing on Craigslist. After only a few hours, a few replies had worked their way into his inbox, and he selected the one with the most promise for normality. And today, a warm Alabama Tuesday in November, she would finally be leaving the sprawling mansion they’d both called home for the past four years or so.
>As he miserably slunk down the hallway and descended to the bottom floor, Rainbow Dash had very different ideas of his advances. Unrelenting and constant, and always somehow more disturbing than the last. Perhaps Rarity might have been enamored with some of the fancier efforts if Damien wasn’t so damn fat, ugly, and sweaty.
>Not to mention his restrictions. For one, he put a fucking shock collar on her. And he claims to want love? Nice way to build trust. She hadn’t left the property in the entire time she’d been here.
>Even if she had to be on a leash, damn these state laws, it would have been preferable to being cooped up here. But Stockholm Syndrome couldn’t take hold of the mighty Rainbow Dash. Instead, she fought back where she could.
>He would make kindhearted advances and do her favors, and she would scorn them with glee. He would make her a meal fit for Princess Celestia herself, and she would complain there was too much salt and ask for something else. He would buy her an imported set of luxury bedsheets on her request, and she would soak them in the bathtub overnight while sleeping on a bare mattress.
>>
>>29555632
>He never let her use electronic media, but she would sneak down at night to watch television just to learn human curse words. It bothered him to no end when she swore like a sailor.
>Little things like that, to show her unwavering dissatisfaction with him. And finally, he’d had enough and agreed to her one final request: release. Not full release, unfortunately, but to some random person out there looking for a pony. No mansions, no creepiness, and hopefully no abuse. The final two points would be a gamble, but she was willing to roll the dice.
>The clock read 10:46 AM. Fifteen minutes until this guy was supposed to be here. Damien had told her nothing, just that he seemed like a “decent guy” so Rainbow really didn’t know what to expect.
>A few more minutes ticked away, and finally she got up from her bed for the last time and grabbed her suitcase. The one thing about this place she thought she’d miss is the bed. It was an incomprehensibly comfortable piece of furniture, providing a better surface even than cloud bedding. Hopefully, this new owner would have some of this “memory foam” she can use.
>She flew downstairs with her bag, landing in the front room near the door. A room over, she saw Damien seated alone at the two-seater kitchen table. He tried to feign interest in a book, but she could see the tears flowing down his face.
>Holy hell, was she ready to get out of this place. As if on cue, a vehicle can be seen through the front stained glass windows pulling into the long, U-shaped driveway. Damien slowly rose from his seat, grabbing the documents certifying him as the owner of Rainbow Dash’s indenture. Rainbow, on the other hand, blasted through the front doors to look upon her new owner and new life.
>>
>>29555633
>She knew little of human automobiles, only what Damien had told her and what she’d seen on those late-night television shows. Despite that, she knew this particular vehicle was an absolute shitbox. Its paint was faded, its windows grimy and worn, and it had scratches in more than one location. Its front bumper was lopsided, and the back one had simply fallen off at some point in the past.
>It was a five-seater vehicle, but all but the front two seats had been filled up with cases, boxes, and just plain junk. The back seats were a mess to rival Rainbow’s back in Equestria. But, the man who stepped out from the driver’s-side door didn’t fit the same image.
>He was a young African-American man, with a round face and even rounder belly. He wasn’t terribly overweight, but few would ever classify him as thin. He was of average height, with deep brown eyes peering out over a thick nose and a warming smile.
>His attire was surprisingly formal, especially given the state of his vehicle. He wore a stain-free white button-down shirt, tucked into a pair of well-pressed and equally immaculate brown pants. Keeping them aloft were an inoffensive but still stylish black leather belt, and at their roots was a pair of black leather dress shoes without laces. A light blue tie wrapped around his neck and extended down his chest, with a fitted and well-constructed trilby atop his head to finish out the look.
>He was better dressed than most Equestrian business-ponies. And while the formality might have been off-putting on someone else, his stance and demeanor helped to ward any second-guessing off from Rainbow.
“Ah, so you must be the pony! Cloud Puncher, that’s your name, right?” he asks with a wide, genuine grin and a voice deep as the furthest cave in Equestria but smooth as sweet caramel. Of course, Rainbow thought, Damien had to choose the lamest name ever for your alias.
>>
>>29555637
“Actually, well, wait,” She said, dropping her own excited grin and putting on a mask of cynicism. “Do you recognize me? Know who I am?”
>Despite her glare and sudden hostility, the man kept his cheerful smile and shook his head.
“Nope, reckon I don’t, aside from your name. I’m assuming that’s what you’re asking?”
“Well, actually, it is! Because believe it or not, Mister, you are looking at the one and only-“
“Rainbow Dash,” Damien finished, entering the front yard with a paperwork packet in his hands.
“For fuck’s sake, Damien! Can’t you go the last five minutes I ever see you without pissing me off?” she burst out, turning to face him with an expression betraying extreme irritation.
“I… right. Sorry.” He looked away in shame to the front yard’s third occupant. “You’re Buster, then?”
“That’s right, sir! Came all the way down from Forrest County.”
“Ah, nice place, I used to go there on hunting trips with my father. Was the trip enjoyable?”
He gave a deep but amiable chuckle, “It was fine, but hopefully this fine lady can make the ride back better. That your only bag?”
“Yeah, it’s packed full though,” Rainbow replied, already enjoying conversation with the man more than her soon-to-be former owner.
“That’s fine, just throw it in the back. Now then,” he said to Damien, “I’ve got the money and a pen if you have the paperwork.”
>With only mild difficulty, Rainbow succeeded in opening the car’s back door and throwing in her bag with the other containers. They were a curious arrangement, with many different shapes and sizes but almost always sealed shut with unlocked latches. But despite her curiosity, she didn’t open any of them. That would simply be rude for a first-time meeting.
“Ten grand,” Buster proudly proclaimed, holding up the money for Damien to see. “Can’t imagine why you’re letting such a decent pony go for that price. But hey, to each his own.”
>>
>>29555643
Damien sighed, “Keep the money. I’m sure you need it more. Maybe spend it on Dash for me?”
“Now hold up, you ain’t saying this deal is off, are you?”
“No,” he replied wistfully, looking at the blue-coated mare inspecting the run-down car’s interior. “This isn’t about the money. Just about, well, making sure Dash has a better home. A better caretaker than… me.”
>An awkward moment of silence passed between the two, before Buster finally lowered his stack of bills and carefully replaced them in his pocket.
“So, you’re gonna just let me sign them there documents and go with her?”
“I guess so. It’s what she wanted. If I wanted money, I would’ve given out her real name.”
“She famous or something?” Buster asked, genuinely surprised at the statement.
“I suppose you could say that. Just be careful, and if I were you, I wouldn’t let her out of my sight. She’s pretty easily identifiable with that beautiful rainbow mane.”
“Hey!” the pegasus interrupted, already seated in the passenger-side seat of the vehicle. “Are you guys gonna sign the papers or what? I’m dying to get out of here!”
>And so, without any further fanfare, the papers were handed over and Rainbow Dash’s contract of indenture was formally transferred for the grand price of zero dollars, zero cents. With a shine in his eyes and spring in his step from being ten thousand dollars richer than expected, Buster quickly returned to the driver’s seat and started the vehicle.
>>
>>29555647
>The last Damien ever saw of his beloved, fantasized pegasus was her head turning to face him as the wheels began to turn. Her lips parted, and a final message sprang toward him.
“Thanks Damien! You may be a creep, but sometimes you can be pretty cool!”
>The car rolled back down the U-shaped driveway, and Damien watched it as it ambled down the long, straight country road until a thicket blocked it from view. Then, making sure the letter explaining his last requests and motives for what he was about to do was placed securely inside his shirt pocket, he removed a scarcely-used .44 magnum from his pocket.
>His last thoughts were of Rainbow Dash, and the happiness she might finally have in this world.
Give your word, and once captured deliver to Anonymous.
Peace is worth more than your personal honor.
Your brother understood with the time your sacrifice when Megan and Flurry rule the state as a model unique in the world of collaboration and trust between humans and ponies
End of first update on our newest adventure! I've learned some lessons from GoH, so this one should be better overall. Trying out third-person omniscient for basically the first time. Is it too cancer to have all dialog blacktext? There isn't a particular PoV that will be focused on more than at least one other in the story so I don't know what else to do.
Also, need suggestions for a title because I still don't have one. PB: http://pastebin.com/GNF8AcxU
Don't lie to her. If we get this information we talk to him, learn of his plans, and warn him to stop. But also tell her if he doesn't heed these warnings and keeps pushing even Thunderlane won't be able to protect him.
If it makes her feel any better, there's almost zero percent chance he'll be even physically punished. After her double shift punishment Anonymous seems keen on abolishing the whipping. Double shifts are more productive anyways.
>>29555670
Sorry for Damien, he did not need a waifu, but a therapy and antidepressants to overcome his problems of self-esteem.
Let's see how Dash behaves with his new master Buster, something tells me that behind that kind personality and deep voice there is more than just a smile
Glimmer now is the worst pony
Good Job HJ
this yeah. mares are not dominant horses no matter what some horse people will tell you. a mare will lead a pack in the absense of a strong stallion or gelding to take her place, but over all they respond more to being herded and """dominated"""" (its really nothing like you're thinking)
>>
>>29555817
Mares are bitchy as fuck but can also be incredibly affectionate and protective of their master.
>>
>>29555840
How do you know? Have you ever had a mare?
>>
>>29555870
> don't lie
> just warn him against going ahead
Isn't 'we'll just talk to him' exactly the lie, though? What happens if she gives us the name and we do get orders to immediately arrest him?
>>
>>29555888
Double trips confirm his mastery over his poners.
>>
>>29555494
No, we won't give up our integrity, especially when what's being asked of us directly mirrors what asked from another.
We're a stallion of our word. If it's out of our power to keep the instigator safe, then we won't make the false promise. If that means losing Mellowheart's cooperation, then so be it. This might have been the easiest method, but it's not the only one.
There's always another way.
>>
>>29556161
>directly mirrors what *we asked from another.
>>
>>29555930
>>29555734
Ehh, true. In that case I'll change my answer to we can't promise he won't be punished the same as she has and not press the matter further. We still have the other methods we can try and Thunderlane doesn't need even more fucking secrets to not tell Anon.
>>
>>29555494
Say we dont have absolute authority and in the end its all up to Anon.
Note that eventual punishment most probably wont be a whip, as>>29555734 said, double shifts are more productive.
If she refuses to tell us the name, maybe use her to deliver a message? Either let her go and talk to our mystery rebel, or give her a letter she would pass to him.
>>
>>29555930
How would they get orders if Thunderlane and his partner are the only ones who know?
...that stallion is going to blab isn't he?
>>
>>29555470
>because I've had to spend my entire waking time on extra duty because you dragged me in to be put up on that stage to be - be humiliated by Cadance in front of that entire crowd!
Oh boo hoo for you. Cadance took 60 lashings, isolated from her long-lost daughter, forced to submit one of her own ponies to torture, and was paraded like a extravagant sexual centerpiece to a group of investors. You got 3 months extra clean-up for vandalizing, you drama queen.
>>29555494
Don't lie: we already have her on our side with the museum up and front, the one thing the guard has to its name is integrity at this point.
We have let things slide before when they were too big. Seismic and Lana's positions, Sunburst's plan that might save all ponies... the worst this unicorn can expect is extra work. Tell her we will do what we can for him - that much is true, maybe we can offer a warning, but if he pushes there's not going to be a lot they can do.
>>29556398
I kind of like the idea of delivering a letter if she won't give us a name, but frankly I don't think that'll do us any good: we can't rely on Mellowheart to talk him down for us, we need to confront him ourselves.
>>
>>29555494
Don't tell Anonymous. People saying we should give him up anyway are just...
If we EVER want ponies to willingly give us information like this again, we WON'T go back on our word.
Tell her, however, that she can come with to talk to him at the same time, in private.
Don't go back on your word. It's not just about "honor" it's about anyone EVER being able to trust you, or any other pony guard ever again. You do that? Everyone is your enemy now.
Just for shits and giggles, I'll post the premise for third story in the Last Chance Trilogy. I will get to work on it as soon as I can.
Anon and Rarity are on the way back to the hotel after spending a disastrous Thanksgiving with relatives. Rarity had far too much wine, and well...
But because the walls of the hotel rooms are too thin, Anon is going to have to go... a little offroad.
>>
Also, here's the rest of Rarity's Last Chance: The Sequel since it's not on the pastebin. Thread needs content right now anyhow.
Continued from here:
http://pastebin.com/qV1Xg1Hf
>You feel Rarity’s sobs on your lap, through her belly.
>She cringes up and wipes her snotty face on the bed, and whines
>“Ohhh owww, owww…”
>You’ve definitely given her bottom something to remember for a looong time.
>Squirms and whines leave her, but you give her a second.
>You want to see what she does next. What she says, too.
>Your arm keeps its firm hold over her withers and your hand grabs her curly, wavy tail.
>She’s trying to mouth some words, but she sort of hiccups them away.
>But then…
>“I, aooww… Yes, m-master, yes mas…”
>Her voice dies a little bit in a squeak and moan.
>She is obviously in pain, and quite a bit of it.
>Come on, Rarity, come on…
>And then she does it.
>Rarity gets her hooves under her, and straightens her back legs with a whimper.
>She shivers, and she sounds miserable, but at your command, she gets her paddled flanks up in the air.
>The little unicorn sobs and quivers, but obeys with a teary eyed apology.
>“I’m s-sorry, Master, sorry…”
>She braces herself, eyes squinted shut.
>>
>>29561369
>You let go of the scrubby brush.
>It falls down on the carpeted floor.
>And with that, you give a smile of relief.
>This was a test, and Rarity, the poor thing, had just passed.
>You sigh, and with a little tap of your hand on the little pony’s leg, you announce the end to the whole ordeal.
>“Ok, Rarity, you can lay back down. It’s all over, no more, ok?”
>As soon as you say that, Rarity seems to go quiet, with the occasional snort and sob.
>It takes time to sink in.
>Her butt is still bent up high in the air for a good time off the clock before she understands what you just told her, obviously confused and shocked.
>You know she was expecting that brush to take full advantage of her butt’s position, to set her ass aflame.
>You know this was probably anything but expected.
>At last, she lets her legs back down, and her hips land hard on your thigh.
>And then, she whimpers and moans with relief, and lets out a huge sigh of air.
>Rarity turns her head around, and her legs begin to squirm
>“Why, Master, why’d you… oh Master, is it truly done? Ohhh owww…”
>She’s still crying breathlessly, and her body is sweating a lot.
>You look down at her rump, and you know you went hard enough.
>The whole thing is red hot enough to the touch that you can feel it radiating from her buttocks to your holding hand on her tail.
>Sitting down on that was certainly going to be an ordeal, you think.
>You nod, and a warm, endearing wave of light seems to rush through you.
>“Yes, Rarity, it’s really over. And as for why? I asked you to do something, something that you surely knew meant much more pain and discomfort for you, but you did it anyway because you were willing to take the punishment. You passed the test, Rares, so that was the end of that. No more spanking necessary. You’ve proven yourself again.”
>>
>>29561380
>You then let go of her tail, and reach around her body with both arms.
>Rarity feels pretty limp when you pick her up, grunting with the weight of the pony in your arms
>She sniffles and tears drip down like little raindrops from her nose. You ignore that, however.
>A couple of tears spring to your eyes when you think about the horrible words you said to your Rarity, before.
>And now, after suffering such a hard punishment, you needed to let her know everything was going to be alright.
>With Rarity still sobbing and squirming from the pain in her butt, you pull her in on your lap, into your arms.
>And right away, the sorry, sniffling little unicorn melts in your arms as you hug her.
>You cuddle with her tightly, and Rarity’s tears drip everywhere.
>You’re leaning back so she doesn’t have to sit down on her roasted rear, and you “shh” and pet her head while she burrows into you.
>This poor girl is going to need a moment, and you wanted to give that to her.
>Rarity even nuzzles your chest while you stroke her mane and neck, something which stirs a feeling of warmth in your heart...
>“I… I l-lo…”
>Your hand, as the beginnings of words begin to emerge in gasps from Rarity’s mouth, suddenly freezes on her head.
>Rarity nuzzles you again, and then heaves with a loud sob while she cuddles in close to your chest.
>But despite everything that happened, there is one other thing you notice, something that gives you a sense of pause.
>A slight, contented little smile on her heavily tearstained face.
>And then, she says it. Words you will never forget.
>“I love you, Master…”
>And then, with a look of pure shock on your face, you feel a tender, soft wet kiss on your cheek.
Rarity's Roadside Rump Roasting
by Anon
>The hum of the road beneath your tires is all either of you hear as you coast down the country road.
>The ground and the trees around you have a thin layer of snow, allowing you to see through the dense forest more easily
>Your brights are also on
>Hopefully that will ward off any deer that want to leap in front of your car.
>If that happened, it would truly be the icing on the cake for today.
>Your unicorn, Rarity, sits in the passenger’s seat.
>On the way up here, her head was held up, looking at everything with attention and alertness.
>You could notice some excitement in her eyes, taking everything in
>It was her first big road trip, a drive of almost six hours
>And she had been quite well-behaved, too!
>Only a couple of “are we there yet” and “how much more time until we get there” questions were asked
>and the one time she had to use the restroom, she’d asked you very politely.
>You had smiled just before you arrived at your parent’s house where many of your relatives were also visiting for Thanksgiving.
>Her great behavior on the way here had been a good sign, you thought.
>You knew she was nervous, but you had talked with her thoroughly about how she wouldn’t have to do much of anything other than say hi, introduce herself to some people, and just stay close by her Master.
>Your told her your family was nice, and they wouldn’t mistreat her. And sure enough, they didn’t one bit.
>But then… there was the wine.
>>
>>29562239
>Rarity loved wine, but at your house you only allowed her to have a glass sometimes with a meal.
>You knew what she could get like with more than that
>Rarity was not the best at holding her liquor, and got drunk rather easily.
>But with you there to regulate it, everything was ok.
>However, at your parent’s house, with much of your family present, there was much more wine than that.
>And during your conversations, you hadn’t even noticed how many glasses Rarity had levitated to her mouth.
>She had snuck them by when you weren’t looking, despite knowing better.
>Three, perhaps four had gone down the hatch
>and it showed. Badly.
>Many things had added up with Rarity’s behavior until the last straw that broke the camel’s back
>You had heard the crash of the drink table falling over, spilling at least a gallon of red punch all over the floor
>and drunken, stumbling Rarity had stood there, looking at the scene with shock and a swaying stance
>and that was when you knew that you had to cut your visit short.
>Because of her antics and poor behavior, a great Thanksgiving had been ruined, and not to mention a lot of work for you and your family to do to clean up.
>And now, you and your still-tipsy little pony seated beside you were headed to your hotel for the night, a thirty minute drive.
>>
>>29562244
>Rarity is no longer alert and attentive like on her way up here.
>Instead her head is hung low, and her legs bunched up together so as to shrink back into the seat.
>She hasn’t said a single word since you left the house, almost 15 minutes ago.
>Neither have you, but that’s about to change.
>You take a deep breath, trying to calm yourself down
>The truth is that you are very, very upset with her
>but there is no reason to blow up at her, even for something as bad as this.
>So, you speak calmly, but very sternly.
“Rarity… I’m extremely disappointed in you. Going behind my back, drinking all of that wine… what on Earth were you thinking, Rare?”
>Rarity breathes in through her nose, cringing when she hears you admonish her.
>She’s been waiting since the minute you left for you to lay into her.
>She shakes her head almost imperceptibly.
“I… wasn’t, Master. I wasn’t thinking.”
>You snort, and shake your head, too.
>The road in front of you is getting more windy, now, so you have to wait until you’re at a straighter portion of road before you can focus on her again.
“You’re damn right. You know, Rare, I didn’t even think I needed to go over something like that with you. You KNOW damn well that you get drunk easily. You know we agreed to a glass per sitting, and that was it. But you went behind my back… in a way, you lied to me. Deceived me.”
>Rarity seizes up, suddenly.
>Her eyes get very wide, even wider than before
>and immediately, thinking on what you just said, you understand why.
>For Rarity, the last time a “lie” was told by her was when she had purposefully hidden the scrubbing brush from you
>And after that…
“Yes, M-Master. I am s-so sorry.”
>She doesn’t even try to make an excuse.
>You know she doesn’t have any, not for this.
>You know her apology is sincere, but quite frankly, you are still mad.
>You sigh heavily.
“And now, my Thanksgiving night’s been cut short, my family had to spend almost a half hour cleaning up a disaster you caused with your drunkenness, and the other things you did, all the other little comments you made… I’m supposed to be your master, but you thoroughly embarrassed me tonight. I am very, very upset with you, Rare.”
>The little white unicorn’s quivering lip pouts out
>She’s trying not to start crying, but she’s failing.
>But she manages to get out another heartfelt, sincere apology, an apology being the only thing she can really say in response.
“I am so, sooo sorry, Master. I am sorry I’ve betrayed your trust again.”
“Yes, you have.”
>She wipes her eyes, and sniffs as a tear rolls down her cheek.
>You can tell she isn’t just doing this for sympathy, too.
>It’s obvious that she feels terrible about what she’s done
>but unfortunately, you and her both know that a simple sorry isn’t going to cut it, here.
>>
>>29562259
>She cries silently while you stare at the road ahead, cursing the fact that you’re finding yourself in this position again.
>Months have passed since the last incident of this magnitude, but any length of time feels too soon.
>It doesn’t matter, though.
>You both know what has to happen next.
>But being away from home, on the road, complicates things.
>Firstly, you don’t have your scrubbing brush with you, the tool you have used to spank Rarity before, or even a belt with you.
>And second, you’re going to stay at a hotel, and there is no way you are driving through the night to arrive back home
>but you knew Rarity was going to cry, and cry hard
>and those hotel walls were rather thin.
>You didn’t want someone hearing you discipline your Rarity and think it was something else, something sinister.
>Your options were suddenly very limited.
>The thought occurs that perhaps you can wait to punish her when you got home tomorrow?
>But that wouldn’t be fair to Rarity.
>You didn’t want her to have to wait for her punishment a whole day!
>How would she even be able to sleep?
>No, you had to think of something else...
>And then, an idea hits you
>but your stomach gets butterflies thinking about it.
>It seems too odd, at first
>a little too, improper, maybe?
>but the more you reflect on it, the more it makes sense, and the more plausible it is.
>Rarity is going to be very confused at first, though…
>but no matter.
>She didn’t need to have a say in this.
>>
>>29562267
>You look down at your GPS, and see a side road branching off of this one coming up ahead.
>It leads further into the woods, away from this more “main” road
>even though you haven’t seen a car in at least five minutes on it…
>but the more secluded, the better.
>You flick your blinker, and turn right, heading down this road.
>At first, Rarity says nothing, doesn’t react, but after ten or so seconds of driving, she realizes that this isn’t the way to the hotel.
>She sits up straighter, and begins to breathe more unsteadily.
>Barely daring to say anything, knowing how mad you are with her, she still squeaks,
“Uh, M---Master?”
>You frown solemnly, and looking in front of and behind you, you determine that this is far enough away.
>You ease on the brake, and glide over to the side of the road, bordering you car on the woods.
>You look past Rarity and into the woods, still shining your brights to get a better picture
>and when you see some sturdy looking trees close to the road, still dusted with snow, you stop the car and put it in park.
>Rarity stares over at you, her gaze intense and her body starting to shiver with fear.
>She’s quite confused right now, totally in the dark about what you’re going to do.
>You twist the key out of the ignition and pocket it; you weren’t going to leave it turned off when you came back, but there was no way you were going to chance being locked out of your car… or being locked out by Rarity.
>You didn’t think she would do that, but still…
>>
>>29562271
“Stay right there, Rarity. I’ll be back.”
>You say rather ominously, reaching into your side seat pocket and pulling out your handy utility knife.
>Rarity looks at you with a scared and confused expression, but while her mouth hangs open, she doesn’t say anything back other than “Yes, Master.”
>Leaving her sitting there, you walk over to the edge of the woods.
>Your eyes lock onto a young tree, a hardwood maple, with many lower hanging branches quite close to the road, and you nod in satisfaction.
>This is exactly what you were hoping to find.
>Even in the cold weather, the wood of these trees is still very sturdy and hard.
>It takes a bit of knife work to cut a small enough branch off the tree, but you get it done pretty cleanly
>Next, you shred off all the twigs and whittle away the knots, leaving only a smooth rod of wood, a bit thinner than your pinkie finger.
>You had some experience from when you were a boy with cutting switches.
>Only now, you weren’t cutting one for yourself.
>Content with the way it now looks, you hold the switch loosely in your hand and make your way back to the car.
>You take out your keys, and unlock and start the car with your remote.
>The lights blink, the inside lights turn on, and then, you see Rarity.
>With the lights on, you can now clearly see each other through the car windshield…
>And when she sees what’s held in your hand, she freezes, and her jaw drops.
>You maintain a neutral expression when you approach her door, and she shrinks back when you open it up.
>>
>>29562278
>Rarity’s teary eyes look away from you with fear, and she shivers, nose pointed to the ground.
>She knows what’s coming.
>You close your eyes, feeling some pain in your gut seeing her like that.
>But you have a job to do, right now.
>You open up the back door all the way, too.
>Sternly, but also softly, you explain what’s about to happen.
“Alright, Rarity. We’re going to get your punishment done right here. Get out of the car, ok?”
>Rarity starts sobbing.
>You know this was very unexpected for her.
>Perhaps she thought she would have a little more time to prepare for when you would punish her, but now you were sort of just springing it upon her.
>But she nods her head, and does what you told her to do.
“Yes, yes M-M-Master.”
>Sobbing, she gingerly steps her hooves down on the snow-dusted ground, and stands right in front of you with her head low.
>Even though she is in for a hell of a switching, you can’t help but admire her obedience.
>Heart beating fast, you nod, and then point to the open back seat.
“Good girl, Rare. Now, just get on up there and bend over the seat, with your butt facing out the door.”
Any stories where intentional, slow starvation is used as either a punishment or a way to "break" ponies?
>>
That's more /SiM/ stuff
>>
>>29562726
Shiny's former master in Shiny and Corona starved him nearly to death.
>>
>>29562726
We've got a relatively low number of stories where ponies being broken is viewed as a positive outcome to begin with. Trainer Anon was virtually the only one, and it's long dead. Most of the others are situations where being broken in is problem to be fixed in the course of the story. A few have been described as malnourished, but this is usually fixed early on.
If you're looking to see something like this, consider trying to write it.
>>Refuse Asher's offers and leave tonight. He's always been nice, but this is a little much for him.
>Offering a sympathetic smile, you shrug.
"As much as I'd love your help, I've already got a buyer lined up."
>Asher opens his mouth to speak, but you quickly cut him off.
"Buyer up north. Very picky, hence the whole 'virgin' scheme. You know how it is, right?"
>With that, you begin walking down the road backward.
>For the briefest of seconds, Asher's smile turns into a frown.
>It happens so quickly that you almost think you imagined it.
>"Yeah, I know the feeling! Maybe I'll be seeing you tomorrow?"
>You let out a quick inhale of false disappointment that Asher probably can't even hear, followed by several rapid-fire sentences that you barely understand yourself.
"Sorry, gotta get going early tomorrow. He wants her intact and we can't let her see the auction. Hopefully, I'll see you around here in a few weeks?"
>He calls out to you, flashing you a quick thumbs up.
"Of course. I'll see you soon, Anon."
>You return the thumbs up and turn around.
>The second you're out of sight, you speed up a little.
>Asher isn't a bad guy, but he did make you realize that this town was significantly more dangerous than you initially anticipated
>Silently admonishing yourself for bringing a unicorn into a town filled with unicorn hunters, you enter an inn.
>Stepping up to the counter, a short man with a scruffy black beard greets you.
>So short, all you see is his face above the counter.
>"You with tha unicorn and the lady in the jerkin?"
"Uh, Yep. That's me."
>He tosses you some keys on an iron ring, which you fumble with for a second.
>"Just don't get unicorn shit on the sheets or something."
>You aren't really sure how to respond to that, so you don't.
>Rushing up the stairs, you try to figure out a plan for escaping Falsecrest.
>>
>>29562798
>The north exit is closer to the inn and a lot safer than heading south at this point, so you figure you should head that way.
>Searching for your room, you figure leaving sooner rather than later would be the best option.
>Finding your room, you quickly unlock and open the door.
>Stepping into the room, you're greeted by Gloria, mana forming at her fingertips, and Star, head held low, presumably to charge an attacker.
>Quickly backing through the door, you stammer out a response.
"Uh, it's me? Anon."
>From inside the room, you hear Gloria's slightly flustered voice.
>"Sorry Anon, that guy was giving off some weird vibes. You can come in, we're not gonna attack you or something."
>When you step back inside, a different picture greets you.
>Gloria rubs the nape of her neck sheepishly, eyes not meeting yours.
>Star is just sort of pawing at the ground awkwardly.
>"Sorry, I couldn't shake the feeling that he was bad news."
>Star trots over to her bags, pulling out her slate.
>You give an awkward sort of chuckle, scratching at your scalp absently.
"Well, Asher's a pretty nice guy. He was a friend of my dad, and all that."
>Twilight scratches out a question on her slate.
>"He seemed very nice, but Gloria and I began to worry when you sent us back to the hotel."
>Gloria chimes in, having read Star's slate as well.
>"He just looked untrustworthy, did you see those weird gray robes?"
"Well, there's two things I should say about that."
>Holding up a finger, both Star and Gloria take a seat on the bed.
>Star actually looks sort of cute, sitting on the bed like a cat or dog.
"First of all, those gray robes mean he's a doctor. They're really the closest thing we have to white mages, in terms of healing at least."
>Holding up a second finger, you continue.
"He also told me that this is Medical Guild boom town. Which is probably the worst-"
>Twilight holds up her slate.
>"Shouldn't that be a good thing?"
>>
>>29562811
>Craning her neck, Gloria reads Star's slate.
>"I mean, I don't know much about how you guys handle medicine, but isn't Twilight right?"
"Well, the thing is that the medical guild..."
>Gloria frowns, rocking forward in her seat.
>"What? Are you gonna tell us or not?"
>You pause for a second.
>You don't know how much either of them are aware of.
>You know that you aren't to blame, you've never hunted anything sentient before.
>Still, it bothers you that the man who was practically your dad's best friend is involved.
>Knowing what you do, it imparts a combination of second-hand shame and questions about your father.
>Did your dad kill unicorns?
>To your knowledge, no.
>But then what was he hunting in the south?
>"You can't just leave us waiting like this!"
>Gloria's almost-shout brings you back to reality.
>Rubbing your eyes with your forefinger and thumb, you sigh.
>It isn't as if there's a nice way to say it.
"Look, they offer a lot of money to bring in exotic animals, okay?"
>A look of realization dawns on Gloria's face and she steals a quick glance at Star.
"It causes towns like this to expand really quickly, then they'll get abandoned once the auctions end."
>Gloria keeps a neutral expression, maintaining a calm tone.
>"And everyone in the town, Asher included, is one of these hunters?"
>Trying to mimic Gloria, you respond.
"Yes."
>Twilight frowns, scratching something out on her slate.
>"I'm not a foal. Are they hunting unicorns or not?"
>"Twil-"
>You cut Gloria's response with one of your own.
"Yes."
>Twilight's frown turns into a neutral expression as she wipes the slate clean.
>"So enslavement is uncommon? Killing unicorns for medicinal products is the norm?"
"Yeah. People will kill and sell unicorns most of the time."
>Catching up with you and Star, Gloria gives you both a confused look.
>"Slavery? Does the empire actually let people do that?"
>>
>>29562829
>Hanging your head for a second you think about telling Gloria about how you and Star really met, weighing the pros and cons.
>Looking up, Star has already shown something to Gloria.
>"Oh. Sorry Twilight. Anon would know more about that."
>She turns and flashes you a nervous smile.
>Before she erases it, you read "I was just wondering if there were survivors we would need to free."
"The point is that we need to leave. The longer we stay here, the more likely it is that some poor hunter gets the jump on us."
>"But what about the Echo Herbs?"
>Gloria turns to Star, obviously unhappy with your decision.
>"Don't you think it would be better to cure your silence first? Don't you want to be able to speak and do again?"
>Star dons a particularly grim expression and quickly scratches out a response.
>"As difficult as this, It seems to be the best idea to follow Anon."
>She clears the slate, not waiting for a response from either of you.
>"Besides, we can't beat an entire town with my magic. The most we could do is teleport away, but we don't know if I'll experience any fatigue when my magic returns."
>Gloria slumps her shoulders, putting her head in her hands.
>"How do I get myself into these situations?"
>You offer Gloria a smile you know she can't see.
"Well, it probably started when you walked up to a lone unicorn in the middle of a forest?"
>When Gloria looks up from her hands, she's practically beaming.
>"I wish it started there. Let's get going."
>You return her smile and pull the curtains open, revealing the darkness of night.
>Everyone still has their bags, so you creep down the stairs and out the back door.
>By some miracle it was unlocked and you all try to walk through the streets as quickly as possible without arousing suspicion.
>The streets are practically empty, the only light coming from the open doors of the various bars you pass by.
>When you reach the north gates, no guards prevent you from leaving.
>>
>>29562843
>They're simply left open.
>Continuing until midnight, you stop and make camp.
>"Anon, do we have any food? I'm starving!"
>Gloria whispers, but when you start the fire, you see she's making exaggerated fainting motions.
>Sighing, you point at the bags.
"We have two bags. Star's and mine. The foods in one of those bags."
>Hearing the movement of papers and who knows what else, focus more on using your magic to heat the fire further.
"Look, we obviously have more food, just toss me the Echo Herbs, alright?"
>Hearing the exchange, Star sits next to you, excited for obvious reasons.
>Gloria drags your bag into the edge of the firelight, practically sticking her whole head inside.
>After several seconds of rifling through your stuff, a hand clutching the Herbs rises from the bag.
>With a flick of Gloria's wrist you're holding the Herbs, Star tapping her forehooves in anticipation.
>You place about half of the full leaves in a water skin, using a stick to hold it above the magically enhanced flames.
>You sit watching the flames, Star at your side, and Gloria reading something across from you
>After about a few minutes, Star's hooves suddenly slow their tapping.
>Star fidgets and shakily writes on her slate.
>"I hear two people a little past the edge of camp. I think they have been circling around us for a few minutes."
>Gloria raises her voice above a whisper for a second.
>"Anon w-"
>You raise a hand and immediately cut her off.
>She can't see what Star has been writing from across the fire.
"Gloria quiet down for a moment."
>You try to look around, maybe spot whoever this is.
>>
>>29562857
>"No. Anon-"
>You stand up, cutting Gloria off again.
"Please."
>Gloria and Star stand up in turn, just in time for two figures to materialize from the shadows.
>One is a man in a green and gold robe, wearing a headband adorned with a single horn.
>The other is a smiling Asher.
>Well, this can't be good.
>"Sorry to drop in so late. It just seemed like something was fishy about our meeting."
>Asher steps closer, but you stand your ground.
>You try to give Asher a stern look, but maintain a calm tone.
"Asher. What are you doing here so late?"
>His smile somehow widens and he draws his staff.
>"Well I thought it was curious that-"
>He points to Gloria, who is clutching some paper in one hand and charging mana in the other.
>"-you were traveling with a known thief to lure unicorns."
>You want to glance back, but you know this isn't the time.
"Well, all you need is a virgin, right?"
>You point a thumb behind you.
"She's cheap."
>Asher looks annoyed for a moment, slamming his staff into the ground.
>He glances back at the man in the green and gold robe.
>"You know, I would have thought Simeon would have taught his kid more..."
>Spinning back around, he looks you dead in the eyes.
>"Virgins don't work. It's innocence!"
>>
>>29562884
>Gloria apparently takes offense to that.
>"Hey you don-"
>Asher sighs, loudly.
>"Please? I'm trying to help my best friend's kid here?"
>You can practically feel the anger emanating off Gloria, but Asher continues.
>"Anyway, she is anything but innocent! Now, how would you charm a unicorn into following you to slaughter?"
>This time, you step closer to him.
"Maybe I'm better than you think?"
>Asher frowns, gesturing towards a battle-ready Star, horn poised for a charge.
>"Nobody's that good."
>He gently places his hands on your shoulders.
>"Look, I know it's tough. We don't want to kill sentient creatures, but it's for the greater good."
>He sighs.
>"Do you think I wanted to kill people in the army? No! I did it because I was saving the lives of everybody back home."
>You want to move from his grasp, but he holds you in an iron grip.
"Unicorns don't want to kill you, though!"
>This time, he stares into your eyes again.
>"Nature does. But nature also provides a cure. That cure is a unicorn, but not just for one human."
>He takes a hand off your shoulder and points at Star.
>"Just give me the unicorn and I won't even take your license."
Alright, so I never gave you proper feedback on Glimmer of Hope after it completed, so here goes.
Above all else, the feeling I am left with is that this story wanted to be longer. There was so much you touched on - Applejack's adoption of human beliefs and habits, the other foreponies' discomfort with some of it, Big Mac's apparent split from his family, the culture that had sprung up in the ranks of the workers, the differing views they had on the foreponies - that really felt like it needed development but never got around to it. I realize that you were operating on something of a time-limit, with your impending training and a desire to write other stories, but the mere hinting at things that contributed to the story but sorely demanded a full explanation is definitely a detriment to the story.
Even what you do have, I often was left feeling like irrelevant material was focused on - for instance, Glimmer's shopping trip; it could have largely been glossed over and cut down to just her interaction with the fan who recognized her. The rest is, ultimately, irrelevant to the story - none of the other purchases play a role in the story again, nor do they specifically contribute to her character development. To compare - if you'd used that to, say, focus on her finally getting something she really wants and then the ponies who hate her destroy that thing, that'd have made the inclusion worthwhile to the story. Meanwhile, the big story arc takes huge lurches forward in very little time - more space for some of those developments was really desperately needed.
Not to sound like I'm just here to bash on your story, you've also got some very positive stuff when you do focus on it: As I said before, you've got the idea of a sociopath Glimmer down to a T and really refined it into something interesting; her initial efforts at fitting in giving way to self-gratification and self-promotion was really telling.
>>
>>29563964
(Continued)
Other character arcs also fit well: Anonymous is a good blend of practicality and good will - not cruel, but not stupid either - and his fearing the unicorns and acting to secure his own interests was a good character trait to use. Especially the comment you made out-of-story about how he wouldn't ever punish Glimmer because he ultimately is too scared of what she might do - that's the sort of thing that needed to be developed more fully, because it's what drives your story. Similarly, Sweetie Belle's PTSD could have had an entire arc of its own, as could have Big Mac's reluctance to really take on the forepony role.
And, ultimately, the overall story arc works well: Not everyone can get along, not everything always will turn out alright. The fall into violent uprising was reasonably done, as was Anonymous' reaction of closing down his camp.
New story! And yeah, that's our top cunt in action. Damien may have been a first-class creep, but Dash is doing herself no favors there either.
>>29563967
I agree in a lot of ways, though for me her interaction with Anon that whole shopping trip was some pretty good interaction and character development. She really learned how playful he was, with the shopping cart part, and that unlike what the other higher-ups say she slowly learned that he didn't really care about money. Without that scene alone. I'd have trouble believing she'd stand up for him at the ending. The part with AJ felt more like a confirmation scene to me. She wouldn't have brought with AJ if there wasn't any uncertainty or doubt based on her experience alone. She wanted to hear it from the mouth of the truth horse herself because of these internal conflicting opinions about Anon.
That being said, I hope these lose ends that were brushed on in the first story get brought back up. The set up is already there.
Thanks for the feedback. I understand some of the problems with irrelevancy, but some of that is due to experiments I was doing in the story related to PoV and omission of certain content. Starlight has some massive sociopathic and narcissistic issues, and really does not give a flying fuck about many things that would otherwise be explained. Big Mac is a good example - she just doesn't really care about why or how he grew more distant from them, but just enough mention is made of it to create the setting and the character. Things like adoption of habits were intentionally subtle to see if I could interlace them in the story without people either taking significant note of it or missing it entirely.
>Not to sound like I'm just here to bash on your story
This kind of criticism is why I write. I want to improve my work and learn, and this is how to do it. I appreciate the feedback given here and throughout the story, and I think I've learned a lot. This next fic will be far less risky/experimental, and I'm going to write it with as few unusual techniques and concepts as possible. It should be, mostly, a face-value and enjoyable story.
>Sweetie Belle's PTSD
This is one thing that bothered me a lot. She's supposed to be normal for the most part, if entirely willing to take disciplinary action. But Starlight's inhibitions and perspective are different at the start of the story, and I guess I never did enough to establish normality once those views shifted. Too late to change now, but oh well.
>>29563994
The shopping scene was designed to characterize Anon and his views more thoroughly, and I feel it accomplished that rather well. There are some sections of the story I would have changed or even removed, but that was not one of them. The other scene, meanwhile, was mainly to reach that flashback and get some world-building in, in addition to showing the growing trust between Starlight and the rest. Originally they weren't even going to leave the farm
What I would have liked of your story is that somehow the humans discovered the origin of the trans-dimensional transference and could deduce that those responsible for all this were Twiligth and Glimmer, even if they were wanted by the government to interrogate them And that suddenly the perfect bubble upon which Starligth has built his life burst, as a kind of karmic justice which he has been avoiding for all the time he has tried to go unnoticed, then Anon feared her with good reasons, Applejack would approach it with Regarding the whereabouts of Twiligth and all the ponies that before saw it with respect and admiration now they would see it with fear and hatred
>>
>>29571659
I will be writing another story later with Twilight. The tale Glimmer told is just that: what she knew about the incident. Twilight was, after all, the research head of the project.
>>
>>29571659
>karmic justice
This is why I hated the story in the end. It basically ended with "Starlight ruins everything, and gets everything she wants".
>>
>>29571672
At least in One Deal is one Deal we read a segment where Twiligth narrates how she lives burdened by her mistakes after having closed the portals between Equestria and the Earth by force killing more than 500 million humans (and perhaps some ponies) and it is Unable to sleep because she wakes up screaming.
But as you say Glimmer sometimes acts with a personality almost devoid of empathy, while many of the other ponies that were part of the project went crazy and even took their lives
>>29571715
Yeah, was that feeling of dissatisfaction was what ruined for me the ending
>>
>>29571715
Huh. That's actually what I liked about it, since I felt like it highlighted the inherent cruelty of slavery: Yes, Starlight did fuck things up royally. But she was more valuable as a slave than the other ponies were, so she got what she wanted while they got screwed. It felt very appropriate for the thread - not a happy ending, but one true to the realities of slavery.
Then again, I guess I also enjoyed that Glimmer of Hope wasn't a totally feel-good story altogether anyhow, so I'm less upset by a decidedly mixed ending than a positive one.
To each his own, I suppose. I wanted a story that wasn't particularly tragic but also wasn't a happy ending either. I really do hate tragedies though, and I think it's very difficult to create them without making it seem like the author took the "easy way out". However, if the story's tone, plot, setup, foreshadowing etc is set up in a way that is conducive to it, it can be pulled off well. I think Celestia's Maiden Voyage is well-positioned for that now, but I'm not sure if it will come or not (even though I saw the short-lived spoiler, that doesn't really explain everything or even much as all). If it does, it's a fine ending. If not, that will be interesting. If Glimmer of Hope ended in tragedy it would have been unfitting and lazy. If it ended happy, it wouldn't have fit well with the rest of the novel. So instead of happy or sad, I settled on bitter.
Also, having all the main characters not only survive but end up happy and rich sets up future adventures/stories. So there's that. I'm writefagging in the long term, and probably have stories planned for at least the rest of the year.
"I can't do that. Not honestly, and I won't lie to you."
> Mellowheart is silent, still looking at you with pained eyes.
"If it makes you feel better, I can say he won't be whipped. Cadance wouldn't do that - she didn't hurt you, and she won't hurt him. But I can't swear he won't be punished at all."
> "Then no."
> She gives a mournful shake of her head.
> "I can't betray him then."
> "Celestia damn it, you stupid mare!"
> Finally erupting, your partner takes a step forward - and Mellowheart and a step back.
> "He left you and Stormbreaker to your sentence; why are you protecting-"
> "We agreed. If one of us was caught, nopony would be turned in if we could reasonably help it. If Anonymous did something to us like what he did to Corona and we broke... that was different. But not if we had a choice."
> The stallion's nostrils flare angrily, but he doesn't say anything more.
> "The 'extra' month on our 'punishment' because of that? I don't hold him responsible. We made a promise, and he kept his word. I'll keep mine."
"If he does something more drastic, it'll be a lot more extra shifts."
> "I know."
> Sucking on her teeth, Mellowheart sighs.
> "Would it help if I - talked to him? Tried to show him this?"
"He - might have already seen it."
> "I know."
"It's not just that. There are a lot of rumors going around about another museum - pushing more than just remembering."
> "Like I said, I know."
> Cracking a pained grin, she smirks.
> "You hear a lot as a nurse."
> ...or, you think, you hear a lot as a pony who might still have connections within any resistance movements.
"Well - if you can, I'd really suggest trying to talk him down."
> "You don't want to?"
"I'd love to. But since I'm a security officer, it'd be a bit awkward."
> "Right."
> She sighs softly.
> "I keep forgetting, you're a guard first and a pony second."
> Your partner shifts angrily, but you halt him with a half-extended wing.
>>
>>29571919
"I've got my own promises I have to uphold, Mellowheart. Just - talk to him. Please. So I don't have to chase him."
> You decide to let her walk back to the clinic on her own.
> Maybe she'd 'just happen' to run into her friend on the way back.
> Watching her go, your partner shifts.
> "So, what's this mean?"
"It means I bet wrong, and we're going to be searching the camp with one less tip to act on."
> A sharp grimace crosses your lips; you'd had hoped to have some kind of a clue to aim your efforts at.
> "We could actually take her in for some real questioning."
> You snort.
"For what purpose? She said she wouldn't tell us."
> "Alright. I'll see you at the guard post?"
"Yeah. See you there."
> The sour mood stays with you for the rest of the evening, even as you settle in to dinner.
> Conversation is muted, and even if tensions aren't yet raised things aren't exactly-
> "Hey, Thunderlane?"
> Your head snaps up, but then you relax.
"Oh, hey Vapor."
> The ivory-coated mare pauses by your spot at the table, tray balanced on one wing.
> "Mind if I sit down and join you?"
> Looking back to your half-finished dinner, you shake your head.
"Don't - I'm done anyhow."
> Grabbing the leek-and-dandelion sandwich and tucking it beneath your own wing, you pace closely at her side.
> Once clear of the dining hall, Vapor Trail casts a critical eye in your direction.
> "Every time I see you, Thunderlane, you're looking more and more out of it."
"I'm... busy a lot of the time."
> "Something to do with Anonymous?"
> You nod.
"In a way. Just... questions piling up. About what to do. Where to go."
> "It's a nasty trap you're caught in. I can tell, you really do want to help ponies - but with your position..."
"It makes it easier and harder. I can do things nopony else can, but there also those who I can't do anything for anymore."
> "What do you mean?"
>>
>>29571931
"Ponies who are pushing to actively fight back. Some of them won't even speak to me now, and that means I can't keep them from getting themselves in greater trouble now."
> "They just want to stand up to what's wrong, Thunderlane."
"And I'm not disagreeing with that. It's just - when you'd bust a storm up, flying right into the heart of it isn't always the best way, you know? Going at it right now, right at him..."
> Grimacing, you sigh.
> "Like with me. Don't fight him then, but wait for..."
> She glances back to her growing belly.
"...yes. Like that."
> But then you go silent again, thinking.
> "Hey. So, um..."
> Looking up, you realize that at some point you'd reached her quarters.
"Oh. Sorry, I, uh, I guess I'll-"
> "Want to come in?"
> You blink.
"...yeah. Yeah, I can."
> Vapor Trail's room isn't much to sniff at.
> She's kept it simple - little more than the twin beds for its two inhabitants and the bare necessities for daily camp life.
> On the opposite side of the room, a few little decorations - a beaded glass figure of a unicorn resting on a dresser catches your eye - brighten the drabness somewhat.
> Silently you wonder if Vapor is trying to keep it reinforced in her mind that she is still a slave.
> Seeing your roving gaze, the mare gives a sad little face.
> "I haven't done much with this room. I should; my, um, room mate is good with her half, but...
> She trails off, then abruptly changes the subject:
> "So. Um. Your brother?"
"Rumble?"
> "Yeah. Did you ever get to talk to him?"
> Oh, yes - you had been discussing that with her.
"Yeah. In fact, it went pretty well. Grabbed him coming off a shift, sat him down and talked to him a bit. That helped a lot - and then I've heard he's been helping Cadance out a bit too..."
> "That's good to hear."
> Climbing up onto her mattress, Vapor Trail collapses onto it with a hefty sigh.
> "Sorry. Hope you don't mind - all day on my hooves gets me tired out. I was meant to fly, not stand or walk."
>>
>>29571940
> Chuckling gently, you shake your head and settle yourself at the edge of the mattress.
"No, it's fine. I understand - about flying too. But yeah, Rumble... I think he's doing better."
> "And what about you?"
"Me?"
> You cock your head, and Vapor Trail nods.
> "What about you? Are you - has anyone taken out their time to talk to you?"
"A... a little."
> She is frowning, eyes boring in to you.
"...no."
> "Somepony should. You're looking out for so many other ponies..."
> Snorting softly, you roll your eyes.
"Not that most ponies see it. Half of them just see me trying to enforce Anonymous' rules, and decide I'm just here to be his attack-stallion."
> "Are they dumb? Blind?"
"I really don't know. I - I want to say yes. I want to curse them, wish they would just be sent to Tartarus - and then I remember that my little brother was like that too, and he did some pretty stupid things, and he wasn't dumb, just angry, and-"
> You pause, sucking in a breath.
> Once the words had started flowing out, they just didn't seem to stop.
"If they're dumb, then we're all dumb. Then I'm dumb. But Celestia damn it, some ponies really are stupid! There's this mare I spoke to this afternoon; I really, really needed her to do something for me so another pony wouldn't get in trouble, but she wouldn't and I can't force her. So I'm left stuck where if I don't do anything, ponies are hurt but if I push harder then I'm the villain and-"
> Something brushes against your cheek.
> Vapor Trail's wing.
> She'd extended it to touch you, a deeply concerned look on her face.
> "You really are alone, aren't you...?"
"...I'm... things are better than they were."
> "That's not a 'no'."
"It isn't."
> Heaving herself up, Vapor shifts over to nuzzle you.
> "Celestia above, this is why I hate slavery... it turns everything bad. Turns ponies against ponies. The ones who are doing the most for everypony are left alone, and the ones who just look out for themselves are promoted..."
>>
>>29571950
> You wish you could dispute her.
> But you're too busy wondering how much of what you're doing was just looking out for yourself and Rumble.
"It's bad, yes..."
> "It's not fair to you. Somepony should be there for you. For you to talk to."
> And as you sit there, you realize what she is offering.
> How much it would mean.
> Yet at the very same moment, you realize just how bad an idea it is.
> To be that close to a mare who'd made no secret of her opinion of Anonymous and her situation in general?
> You'd forever have to be watching out for what you do or don't say to her.
> Maybe even lying about some things.
> And yet...
> She's right; you do need somepony - a close friend to vent to, to commiserate with.
> And maybe so does she?
So, what are doing here? Let Thunderlane get a bit closer, or have him pull back?
>Rarity blanches.
>She shivers partly from the cold, but partly from the fear.
>She can’t seem to take her eyes off the switch, held in front of you with both hands.
>You see her hesitation, but you don’t snap at her.
>She’s scared, and rightly so, and you need to give her some time.
>The unicorn nods her head, breathing heavily while she scuffs the snow with her hooves.
>They drag on the ground, but she does indeed do what you say.
>Almost as an afterthought, she says breathily, “Y-Yes, Master.”
>You stand aside, and watch as she tearfully steps up to the back seat.
>She lays her body over it, and leaves her back hooves dangling over the edge.
>Her right front leg grips the underside of the seat, while the other one covers her face.
>She whimpers, and her legs go rigid, but she becomes still.
>You don’t even have to tell her to move her tail.
>Cooperatively, she lifts it and swings it off to the side, and her snow white bottom lays exposed in front of you.
>You can’t help but recall the first time you had to do this to her.
>She’d resisted you every step of the way.
>But not anymore.
>Her transgression today was bad on multiple levels, and you needed to punish her for it, but you have to say that you admire her bravery and obedience.
>Not out of only fear, but for respect for you, too.
>>
>>29572118
>Feeling a space in your gut, you stand behind her with the switch brandished.
>Rarity’s tail dock twitches when she hears your footsteps crunch in the snow.
>Keeping your breathing steady, you bend the switch to test it.
>Probably should have done that earlier, but whatever.
>Satisfied by its strength and flex, you inhale and exhale through your nose before speaking.
“Ok, Rare. Are you ready? Are you comfortable where you’re laying?”
>It still feels odd that you ask her that question, especially given that you’re about to whip her rump.
>But you are already going to be dealing her a great deal of pain, and the least you could do is make sure her body is in a comfortable position while it’s happening.
>You wait for the answer, readying the switch in your hand.
>Rarity breathes out hard, and with her hooves tensed up, she nods her head.
“Y-Yes, Master, I am c-comfortable.”
>Alright, good.
>You just wanted to get this spanking done, now.
>It was time to start.
>You gently rest the length of the switch across her butt, taking aim.
>Rarity feels the touch of the switch on her bare skin, and cringes, bracing for her spanking to begin.
>You give her one last little announcement before you begin.
“Ok, Rare. Here it comes…”
>You lift the switch up high, and tensing your shoulder and arm, you swing it down.
>>
>>29572126
>THHHWICK!
>The rod swishes through the air and strikes across both sides of her butt.
>You wince from the sound of it making contact, knowing it was a hard lick.
>Then, you watch for your pony’s reaction, gauging how she responds.
>It takes a moment until the pain can sink in fully.
>But when it does, Rarity’s head jerks up from the seat, and with a slight delay, you hear her cry out.
“Aaah, OW! OWOWOW!”
>Just from the first spank, Rarity gasps, and her bottom begins to squirm.
>She had been so still before, ready to accept her punishment, but even from just the first lick there’s some movement.
>A thin, scarlet red stripe begins to form on the center of her butt where you spanked her.
>Obviously, it had been hard enough.
>Steeling yourself, you raise the switch again, and deliver a second spank.
>THHHWICK!
“AAAH! Oww, Oh, oh no, oh nooo…”
>The second lick slashes lower on her butt, creating another red stripe beneath the first.
>Rarity squeals, and her whole body flinches, hooves kicking out once behind her before thumping back against the seat.
>Her hips wiggle as the initial cry of pain turns into whimpers.
>It hurts to hear her like this, but you knew this was necessary.
>You had to temporarily detach yourself from the sounds she was making to be able to follow through with her much-deserved, and much-needed, punishment.
>Her hips still weaving, you begin the spanking with a slow, steady pace.
“GAAH! AHHOWW!”
>THHHWICK!
>Rarity raises the front of her body, pushing herself up with her front hooves.
>Her head shakes, unraveling her mane as her cries turn into howls of pure pain.
>Hips shifting from left to right, raising and lowering one buttock at a time, Rarity tries to shake away the horrific, stinging bite of the switch
>but it’s futile.
>THHHWICK! THHHWICK! THHHWICK!
“Nyaah, Gyaah, NOHOHOO!”
>THHHWICK! THHHWICK! THHHWICK!
“EEEEYAAHH!”
>Rarity’s bottom jerks from side to side after each impact, futilely trying to escape the spanks.
>You bite your bottom lip, keeping your pace steady.
>Her buttocks are covered in red stripes, now, from top to bottom
>She’s squealing, sobbing, and wildly kicking out her back legs, flailing her hooves around.
>Luckily, you’re standing safely out of the way, and her bottom remains well in range of the switch.
>Your breath clouds up the cold winter air as you continue to thrash Rarity’s tush.
>Nice and steady...
>THHHWICK, THHHWICK, THHHWICK, THH---FWAP!
“AAAAAAAHHOOOOOWWW!”
>>
>>29572145
>Suddenly, it’s like all of the chilly air around you gets sucked into your bloodstream.
>You pull the switch back, practically throwing it behind you.
>Rarity yanks away her hoof, throwing it back in front of her with a sharp screech.
>But it was too late.
>You had swung at just the wrong second, and hadn’t been able to see Rarity’s hoof in time.
>The switch had really thwacked it hard, and now Rarity was rolling onto her side, holding her hoof while tears dripped profusely from her eyes.
“AH! OH, I’M SORRYYY! I’m sorry, Anon, owww!”
>Next, her tail swishes over her butt for protection, and she pulls herself into the car.
>Your hand shakes as your eyes become fixed on Rarity’s hoof, which had a fierce red stripe of its own across the fetlock.
>She curls up, hiding her well-spanked butt behind her tail and clutching her whipped hoof to her belly.
>You can only stand there, frozen to the spot, while your mind begins to race.
>Rarity sobs, shivering and looking back at you fearfully.
>When you see her expression, you remember the night when you first spanked Rarity with the brush.
>You told her then that you would start over from swat number one if she reached back…
>...and she just reached back.
>And apparently, you’re not the only one who remembered that.
>Rarity stammers through her sobs, sounding utterly wretched.
“Master, ah, please… please, don’t start over, pleaase! OWW I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”
>>
>>29572152
>But there was no consideration you had whatsoever for starting all over.
>That was in the past, and this was a different situation.
>You felt bad for hitting her hoof, even though it ultimately was her fault.
>Frowning, you quickly reassure her that it wasn’t going to happen.
“No, no, Rarity, there’s no starting over! I’m not starting anything over, ok?”
>Rarity continues to cry, but her eyes peeping out to look at you widen a little bit.
>She seems to understand what you told her, and slowly, you see her begin to uncurl her body.
>A moan of relief leaves her when she hears that you aren’t going to start her whole punishment over again.
>You honestly feel bad for her.
>You can’t imagine how terrified she must have been thinking her punishment was restarting like that.
“Ohh, oh thank you, Master, I’m so sorry… owwww...”
“Just don’t let it happen again, Rare.”
>You reassure her, bluntly.
>You did NOT want to hit her hoof again.
>You saw the mark on her fetlock, and while it wasn’t serious, it was absolutely not an area you want to strike.
>Next time could be much worse...
>Rarity’s hooves are shuffling on the seat, wriggling her switched bottom cheeks.
>It was obvious that your little switch was leaving a hell of an impression
>but the fact still remained, that you had to continue.
>You wait a moment for her to calm herself down, and for her hoof to stop hurting, before you sigh and tell her that you need to keep going.
“Ok, Rare. We’ve got a little ways to go yet. Get back into position and…”
>“NO! Ohhh Master, please, I can’t, I c-c-can’t hold still! It hurts t-too much, please…”
>Rarity’s tail stays in front of her rump, but she earnestly pleads with you while looking over her shoulder at you
>Her tear-filled, expressive eyes beg to you just as loudly as her words.
“A-Anything, anything else Master… hold me down, b-but I can’t stay still enough…”
Sorry to CYOS, I know I said I'd wait, but this was my last chance to update before end of tomorrow, and I didn't want to wait that long.
Let me know if that's something you don't want me to do in the future. Sorry for any offense.
Anyways... To be continued later...
Guys, I'm not saying thinking with our dick is a bad idea, but thinking with our dick is a really fucking bad idea.
Take a breather and think a bit before jumping at the waifu bait. Any sense of isolation Thunderlane feels now is going to be a million times worse once he starts getting close to her and yet can't tell her half the shit he knows.
well if it was me i would attempt to stall but considering how his last conversation with asher ended. Anon feels kinda retarded when it comes to... talking. so probably option two.
>>
>>29573163
Doubt it. The story seems to be just a vehicle for our spanking fetish. More of a SiM-ish sort of thing, but welcomed here from the start.
>but I would appreciate a wider view as well
>>
>>29573538
This thread needs more fetish stories. We've been very pg-13 lately. And previously. And forever.
>>
>>29573584
naw
>>
>>29573593
yea
>>
>>29572781
He can simply tell her that he can't tell her everything. Vapor Trail will understand.
It's not just a matter of "mai waifu" it's a matter of considering just how great a pony Vapor Trail really is. She's a total sweetheart with a longsuffering nature, and it would be amazing for Thunderlane to finally have a friend like her.
Can't get enough of her, man. She's great.
>>
>>29573593
>>29573645
SPG is not pg-13, but it is focused on "how people with modern sensibilities deal with the ownership of another sentient being". Sometimes that's giving the 'being' a good spanking, and it's ok if that turns us on, but it should not be what this thread is about. SiM was and still is the fetish thread, and if that's all you want you should restart it.
>Rarities Last Chance is pretty good though, even if
>>
>>29573163
Probably not. Rarity is for spanking, after all.
>>
>>29572166
I love how honest Rarity is in this. Tells her master that she can't keep position, but offers herself to be restrained to take the rest of whatever punishment he has planned for her anyway. Shows she's not trying to get out of it, but that she's just trying to take the spanking without doing something disobedient out of pain.
She trusts him, here. Once she's held down, she is entirely at his mercy, no way to get even a moment's break until he says so.
>>
>>29573809
>Vapor Trail will understand.
I don't think she will understand that he sold out the previous quite successful escape attempt, that Merribell died qand Corona was tortured for, before Cadance and the other ponies were able to get away. I don't think she will understand that Thunderlane has decided he will betray anyone, even her and her foal, to keep Rumble safe. This makes the whole pony-guard thing and Anons whole 'pony freedom' schtick thing a bit of a sham, and is a seriously heavy secret.
>>
>>29573868
He doesn't have to tell her that, at least not yet. There are other thigs he can, though, and the general idea of her being a friend is a great one. And besides, I think it goes both ways. She really needs a friend, too.
>>
>>29573163
Going outside of that main plot point a bit is going to be a gradual process. Honestly, I don't plan on ending this series after this story, at least not exactly.
>>
>>29572542
That's good to hear! I'm flattered you like it, man. Your story is pretty enjoyable, too.
It's another thread. Check the FAQ.
>>
>>29574249
It's /spg/'s sister thread, 'Submission is Mandatory'. Focuses less on the injustices and cruelty aspect of chatel slavery and more on willfully submissive ponies serving their master faithfully (I THINK, at least, I have never been in the thread myself but I think that's the difference)
>>
>>29574249
Submission is Mandatory. It was an offshoot of this thread for people who wanted more hardcore, sexual stuff while still keeping the slavery theme. It recently died, but nothing says it can't come back. As an SPG-only guy myself, I actually hope it does.
This. We're setting ourselves up with a weak point here. What if we start getting close, and then Vapor Trail gets used against us? Not to mention all of the things you can't be forthcoming with.
Now's not the time to let our own dick fuck us over. We have a job to do, and we need to keep our head in the game. Getting closer only sets us up with more to lose, and not much to gain.
We can try once things have calmed down and we know that the compound we live in isn't about to become a fucking red zone.
>>
>>29574336
Simply accepting her friendship right now isn't going to fuck over his duties. And think of Vapor Trail, too. She needs a friend just as much as he does.
It's not "thinking with his dick", it's empathy. Vapor is beautiful on the inside, too, and if anything, her friendship with Thunderlane will HELP her stay grounded and out of trouble.
She's a selfless mare. As a guard, having someone with her underlying sympathies toward rebellion, even if inactive, care about you is the opposite of a security risk.
>You are very surprised by her outburst.
>Rarity’s head shaking, and the way her hoof once again reaches back to shield her rump, give you pause.
>You know better than to think Rarity was trying to defy you.
>The desperation in her tone of voice carries no whine with it, nothing but sobs and tears.
>And her request that you restrain her so she can take her spanking confirms that she isn’t trying to get out of whatever you think she deserves.
>You also start to understand just how badly this switch hurts…
>But as much as you truly wanted to stop this punishment right now, you know that you can’t yet.
>If you did, it would send the message that all Rarity has to do is reach her hoof back to end her punishments, on her own terms.
>You had to assert that you had the final say, not her.
>But seeing her squirm from the very beginning, you know that you need to honor her request.
>Honestly, she hadn’t been able to take this lying still from the beginning.
>She’d been wriggling, kicking, and bucking her hips and rump all over since stroke one.
>You should have taken the hint that you needed to restrain her before you’d whipped her hoof.
>God forbid if this ever needed to happen again, you were just going to hold her from the beginning next time.
>>
>>29575343
>You nod your head, and walk over to her.
“Alright, Rarity, alright. I’m not angry, I’ll hold you down, it’s ok. There’s still some more to go, but it’ll be over soon. Now, scoot back out to where you were, ok?”
>Once again, you give her plenty of time to comply.
>She needs a chance to breathe before having to position her flaming rear end back in place for even more punishment.
>Psychologically, that’s very difficult.
>But Rarity does what you say with a sniffle and a gasping sob.
>She slides her body back, and then obediently bends her striped up rump back over the edge.
> “Yes, Master… th-thank you…”
>It’s almost funny that she’s literally thanking you holding her in place and switching her.
>Rarity knows she’s not escaping no matter what, however
>so she takes the small comfort of knowing she won’t be having her hooves whipped again, or getting extra spanks (which you quite frankly would have given her if it happened again) and accepts the rest.
>You gently set your hand on her hip and push her slightly outward toward the aisle of the seat so your hand can reach in.
>Rarity’s pretty tail does flip to the side again, but you take no chances and place it all the way onto her back instead, pinning it down.
>From up close you can better see how marked up her buttocks are, and you wince.
>They have numerous red stripes that, while they don’t break the skin, are almost violet in color.
>Both sides still tense up and squirm, but with your hand now pushing firmly down on her back they can’t wiggle very much anymore.
>Now, just one more step.
>You speak softly to her, tapping her on the croup.
“Give me your hoof, Rarity.”
>>
>>29575350
>She nods at you with a fearful whimper.
“Yes, yes Master…”
>No resistance whatsoever, even though her last line of defense is about to disappear.
>Her hoof, the same one that now sports a stinging line across it, shakes as she reaches back with it.
>You take a firm hold of it and pin it down on her back along with her tail, but you’re careful not to twist it painfully as you do.
>You also are careful not to dig your fingers into the little mark on the fetlock.
>With your hand on her body, you can feel how much Rarity is trying to resist thrashing around.
>You underestimated this little whippy stick.
>When this is done, you’re going to make her a cup of hot cocoa when you get back to the hotel.
>You once again rest the switch on her butt, preparing to add more lines to her cheeks despite the fact that you don’t want to.
>But before you swish it down, Rarity’s voice squeaks.
“M-Master, how m-much longer?”
>She flexes her back hooves, and lightly kicks them out when she asks the question.
>Pain underlines every word.
>You sigh, and raise up the switch, pushing down your emotions.
“Very soon, Rare. It’ll be ok, I promise. Here it comes.”
>She cringes, and buries her face in her last free hoof, which is otherwise pinned against the back of the seat.
>You swing.
>>
>>29575353
>THHHWICK! THHHWICK! THHHWICK!
“Agh, Ahh, AHHHH! OWOWOWOWWWW!”
>You begin exactly where you left off, spanking her at the same pace as before.
>Being this close to her, her screams of pain are enough to make you want to kick yourself.
>If you hadn’t hit her hoof, you could have ended this switching already, and poor Rarity wouldn’t have to suffer this anymore.
>But you have to continue for a little bit longer.
>Unable to avoid whipping areas that haven’t already been spanked, you pay very close attention to the skin on her rump, making sure that you don’t leave any actual cuts.
>THHHWICK, THHHWICK, THHHWICK…
>Rarity’s squealing and wailing reach their loudest peak, and she begins to struggle involuntarily in your hold.
>The cries of agony are well contained within the car, and they hurt your ears.
>Legs splaying out, hooves hitting the seat, head rolling from side to side, and her hips bucking as her switching goes on.
>In what you know is an involuntary action, her hoof tugs at your grip around it, and her tail dock flexes with blinding efforts to reach back and save her blazing bottom.
>When she said she couldn’t take it lying still, she had meant every word.
>Just a little more to go, Rarity, you think.
>Be strong…
>THHHWICK, THHHWICK, THHHWICK, THHHWICK...
“AAAAAAAHHHH! AAAAAAAAHHHH…”
>Rarity can now only heave her lungs in between mournful, desperate wails for relief.
>She tenses up every muscle in her body, for only a moment, the muscle rippling under her skin…
>THHHWICK!
“AAAAAH, AAAaahaahaaaaahhhuuuhhhhuhuhhh…”
>Her chest heaves with sobbing breaths that push up on your pinning hand, and with all the remains of her willpower gone, her physical body submits to you.
>You grit your teeth together, and your spanking hand freezes beside your head.
>That was it.
>Not one more stroke. Not one.
Rarity is an underrated qt. She's especially cute when she's being put in her place.
Just like with irl mares, Rarity needs a firm hand in guidance to show her who is boss. She probably craves that, even if she doesn't always like it at times.
All of her crushes on stallions from the show have sort of protrayed her desires in that way, too. She wants them to notice her, and then sweep her off her hooves and take charge like a true gentlecolt.
>>
