The MLP movie will be a financial success no matter what because of the combination of bronies and parents with their children going to see it.

Whether or not it's a critical success is another issue but financially there's absolutely no reason for it to not make a profit. This fandom might be a shadow of what it once was but there are still many millions of people from it who will be going to the cinema to see it and buying it when it comes out afterwards.

The Power Rangers movie has a much larger chance of failure because it's a much older show that doesn't have an embarrassingly large and dedicated fandom and is also changing the franchise formula significantly from what people are used to, which could scare some potential viewers away.

This is fucking adorable. The majority of bronies will just pirate it via camrips like they did with the first equestria girls movie (or virtually EVERYTHING in the series), and the ones that do will scare off the soccer moms with a pedo scare.

Friendship is Magic is much more recent than Power Rangers.

Don't forget that this is the original lineup (Jason, Zack, Trina, Kim, and Billy). I loved Power Rangers when I was a kid, but stopped after Turbo because it became generic real fast.

well, the plot is very generic
some 5 dudes having fun until a monster attack, kick his ass, he becomes giant, form the mecha, blow him to hell.
