I used to roleplay a lot with friends, mostly dnd, war hammer, eclipse phase and fallout equestria and I can see why is not allowed: it would end up with 3-7 threads of roleplay when there are already a lot of other places you could go to do it.
roleplay can need a lot of messages and organisation
the rule is here too keep the unnecessary roleplay threads from dumping more relevant ones

As someone that used to stream drawing sessions, I can attest that RP is cancer. I can only glance over at my chat stream so many times before the 12-year olds' OC's flirting and competing for who has the darkest past and highest power level makes me ban it myself.

There is a noted difference between RPing in a quest/cyoa thread (which is generally allowed) and pretending to be characters from the show (which is hardline cancer).

It's not allowed because it doesn't contribute anything to the board and only encourages "oWo what's this" level of bullshit.

If you want to pretend to be vampire Futashy there are other forums for that.
