I've been loving this comic up until about the celestia and luna churches showed up.
It's getting harder to follow with all of the new characters and story elements.

I just wanted a nice simple story with anon living with ponies and occasional lewd but it quickly became apparent that the author had bigger plans.

So instead of being a quick comic to digest whenever it updated I now have to wait for bits and pieces of an evolving story.

Maybe I'll love the comic when the story is finished so I don't have to keep wondering what's going on but that may take a long time.

Also doesn't help that Flutteryshy and Trixie's anti-adventure comics have stopped.

Pencils need to learn something from Fleece or Price when it comes to making the comic more dynamic. He would never fit any 10 page story script in just 22 pages with this kind of page overlay, His page here is boring, confusing and tiring.

This second panel is a clusterfuck.

The rock thing in the background is almost as tall as the giant mountain in the distance, and it's really screwing with the sense of scale. The bricks are overly detailed, and it's drawing all the attention to them. You did the same thing with the little outcropping in the second to last panel, which is why everyone thinks they look giant. In this case, though, it might be a good thing to draw attention away, given how screwy Maud looks. Her snout's crooked, and her right (our left) eye is....I don't even know what it's doing. Floating out there in space?

Anon is 2 meters tall, Mascara is 148 cm, there's a substantial height difference between them.

As a basic outline of what's wrong with Pencils' comic:
*He opened with a simple premise, Anon in Equestria, but then quickly devolved into what all long-running AiE fics do. A ton of unrelated bullshit started happening as soon as Anon's novelty began to wear off.
*Instead of pacing out the unrelated bullshit, the story starts jumping around. The cast of the comic wound up divided into multiple groups, but the comic isn't written like a mystery show. We didn't learn new things from each new group but rather...
*We learn almost everything from exposition. It's like Pencils gets impatient. Had this comic focused on Anon alone, learning the fate of humanity and the process of obtaining that info should have been its own arc, but instead it became an exposition spot. "Oh, yes, I read it at the library in a book."
*The reliance on exposition has given Pencils an excuse to do anything. Why did we even go to that town? I don't see what the characters gained. I feel like we left the town because "Wait everyone, I just realized the next plot point!"

I'm still reading the comic, but whatever direction Pencils takes this thing isn't going to be well served by OCs monologueing all the answers. I kind of get the feeling that's our next stop, though. Either a cultist, or the Choosing Stone, or the Dio Angel, or Katrina, or somebody is going to say, "Here's all the answers, in case you wanted to know." And right now I guess that's okay, but only because there are so many free-wheeling plot points that I'm happier seeing some of them wrapped up and cut out of this than I am with seeing them resolved appropriately.

The comic really should have stayed focused on its main problem and solved everything in due order, and without characters knowing unreasonable tomes of information about impossibly obscure animals from before the birth time of ponies. It's starting to feel like I'm watching Superman, where everyone has Kryptonite and it's everywhere in spite of its rarity.

The pony forelegs just seem weird to me. Too scrawny maybe? Particularly, RD in 3rd panel. One too thin in than the other?

I like the attempt at environmental shading. For example, Limestone in the 4th panel. Helps give the sense we're looking at characters in their 3D world. Perhaps some kind of gradient here and there instead of all sharp edges might pick it up a notch?

Anyway, not that I would be able to do better. Like I said I don't have the talent for drawing but I do appreciate your work.

I actually prefer Pencil's leg anatomy expression over the show's marshmallow spaghetti legs.

The reason the show uses solid joints or spaghetti legs the majority of the time is simply animation budgeting. If they had to carefully articulate and animate even the simplest leg movements for every character, animation would take much longer and the show would be ridiculously expensive to make. When you see complex joint positioning in the show, it's almost always a static pose with minimal animation.

In other words, comics don't need to be animated, so you can get away with a lot more complex posing, and you require on this complex posing to make scenes look dynamic and fluid. Otherwise it would literally look like a bunch of pony statues vomiting out dialogue.

Dash lifts her leg as she's climbing a ladder. Not even in piaffe the knee is raised that high.
If that pose is used for walking, it can't be used for ladders or to show with body language that you want to keep your distance without overdoing it.

Fluttershy is treading very cautiously. Her hind leg looks like she's sliding on ice and her front hoof is carefully brushing at the surface. Again, making this pose unusable when a careful pose like that is actually needed.

An actor can do small details in movements and still have a rich body language. A cartoonist doesn't have that luxury. All small details are lost. That's why famous artists like Carl Barks always had solid balance with all feet on the ground in the basic poses. It allowed him to let Donald Duck jump in the air with all limbs in different direction for a great dynamic effect from what the reader was used to.

Compare Pinkie Pie who does a lot energetic movements. If all ponies did, she wouldn't be special. She would just have a high-pitched voice and nothing else. So I recommend all cartoonists to save all that extra for when it's really needed.

I'm aware that Hasbro didn't allow Celestia the title of Queen and that they pushed for Twilight to become a princess, since they believe that they can read the minds of little girls.
I'm also aware that some people who create comics have the same type of hubris, thinking themselves to be experts on how stuff should be drawn. (If they didn't believe in themselves it would be difficult for them to be assertive in a competitive business.)

All I can say to any artist is that they should sell what the customer wants to buy - but don't for a second believe a guy who titles himself "boss" or "expert" actually has a clue. They rarely do! And if their production is crap, you might want to consider using a pseudonym.

You see, the joke is that contracted labor doesn't receive the standard W-2 that most employers hand out to their employees. Instead they get a 1099-MISC which summarizes their earnings for the IRS. This is important, because employees don't receive health benefits regardless of how many hours they work, and self-employed individuals need to fill out a form 1040-ES along with filing their own SS/Medicare taxes.

The joke is even FUNNIER when you think about how, because the boutique supplied stripper poles, an IRS audit could argue that the strippers were employees and the entire practice of treating them as contractors was ILLEGAL! Ha ha! The entire operation is a ticking clock and... and... I for some reason hoped this would all fly under the radar and we could laugh about how Plaid Stripes doesn't know how to run the business she interferes with.
