“Heads up Dan!”
>You shout as you jostle him aside giving you a clear shot at the shadow wriggling on the ground trying to flip itself upright again.
“Not today punk.”
>you say in your best dirty Dirty Hary growl as you kick the shadow up into the air like a hacky sack.
“Say high to the fans in the cheap seats for me!”
>Your keyblade glows and a rush of energy flows through you as your weapon connects with the heartless’ bulbous head.
>A loud crack rings out in the junkyard like a gunshot as the little heartless hurtles through the air and scores a direct hit center mass of the hulking rubber suited monstrosity.
>The shadow explodes on contact in a burst of smoke as the toxic trooper staggers back bracing itself with its oversized clawed hand.
>As its comrade explodes the last shadows eyes flash as it leaps at Spike, determined to bring the little dragon down.
>Its claws hit home but instead of dodging the little dragon takes it in the chest and grabs the shadow by its limp spindly wrist.
>”You aren’t getting away from me that easily.”
>Spike growls as the claws dig into his scales and in response he draws back his fist and staves in the heartless’ head.
>”Just one to go!”
>Spike shouts as he looks to Dan squaring off with the toxic trooper.
>”He’s all mine.”
>Dan snarls venom dripping from his voice as he clenches his wrench with both hands and sends the lump of metal crashing into the heartless’ exposed face.
>The force of the blow sends the staggered monster crashing to the ground where it shakes and seizes for a few seconds before its body is consumed from within by a brilliant light that bursts out and flies off into the sky as the heartless vanishes.
>>
>>29512482
Perform seppuku and magically make a clone of yourself with your own blood.
>>
>>29512493
“What the hell was that?”
>You ask pointing to the patch of sky that the light vanished into and Dan shrugs in response.
>”Beats me, never seen them do that before.”
>He says nonchalantly as he walks around the pile to the exposed back of the van, the hate in his voice gone as quickly as it had come.
>”Now let’s see if this climb is going to be a total wash.”
>Dan grunts as he pries open the engine compartment.
>”Ah HA! PERFECT!.”
>He shouts as he reaches in and fiddles with the inner workings of the van before he pulls out a complicated looking piece of machinery.
>”Gentlemen we’ve found our power supply.”
>He says with a grin as he slips the power plant into his pack and grabs one of the heavy yellow canister scattered around the clearing.
>”Grab a canister; we’ll drop em off as we pass the garage on the way to the next site.”
>He grunts as the two of you pick up canisters of your own and follow him down the hill back to the station.
>One uneventful trip later and the three of you are stacking your fresh swag in a corner at the back of the garage.
>”Okay so, we’ve got a couple more places we can try before we need to resort to the crane.”
>Dan says as he pulls out a rough hand drawn map.
>”We have an option to the east and the south of here.”
>Dan says as he points to a couple of crude drawings nearby what looks to be the gas station.
>”Now I recommend we hit the one to the south, It’s a little bit more of a walk but the spot in the east is the closest to the crane so we might see heavier heartless activity there than usual.”
>Dan rubs his goatee in thought as he looks at the map.
>”Any thoughts guys?”

>Where do you want to head next? Feel free to ask questions of Dan before making a choice.

(Obtained Scream Power Plant & Scream Canisters)
>>
>>29512508
Can we get a recap of what we wanted to ask again?
>>
I don't think we'd really decided on any questions yet. Personally, I vote for the south, cover all of our bases before we get to the crane. That's feeling like a story area.
>>
>>29513252
Do we want to have dan do something with that gem? He did say he thought he could do something with it. And do we still want to attempt to draw away heartless?
>>
>>29512508
I would like to repeat my suggestion towards using the Keyblade as a distraction to lure some of the Heartless to the East away, when we get there.

Obviously we're going to the South first.
>>
>>29513252
Agree on taking the route to the South, personally I'm completionist enough that even if we get what we want from the other sites, I'm going to want us to at least scope out the Crane and see if it's worth going.

>>29513305
I feel nervous about letting the Keyblade out of our sight, but it might be worth a shot.

>>29513294
Oh yeah, we should have Dan look at that since we've got a spare minute. At least get his assessment on it and how long he'd need to work with it, if nothing else.
>>
>>29513454
We can always summon it back if we need to. It seems to move instantaneously, so we can make a quick retrieval regardless.

>I'm going to want us to at least scope out the Crane and see if it's worth going.
We're in an RPG, lad. 'Tis always worth going.
>>
>>29512508
I'd say we should check out Twi's notes a bit more, a bigger spell pool can't hurt if we come across more enemies.
>>
>>29513305

Honestly, I disagree. I mean even if we draw away the Heartless by leaving the keyblade somewhere away from where the heavy Heartless activity is going we what? Get them to go somewhere else, circle around (presuming the keyblade doesn't dissipate upon getting a certain distance away from us) and then have a fight? When the Heartless will come running and arrive halfway through?

I'll be honest, I'm not seeing the strategy to this plan.
>>
>>29514273

Seeing as magic is our main method of attack, I feel like learning more as fast as possible is a good idea.
>>
>>29514509
I mean, assuming there's like 10 Heartless at the Crane, using the Keyblade to lure even 3 away means that we could divide and conquer if wading through sheer numbers is a poor idea.

That's why I'm only suggesting it. I just can't help but think that the fact that the Keyblade lures Heartless can be used as an advantage in some way.
>>
>>29514561
You see, what I'm worried about is time sensitivity. I'm worried that taking the time to set this up, circle around and then confront the Heartless heavy area. That ultimately the risks or loses associated with this plan are much less than risking Spike dropping the lance again or spending more MP on multiple Thunders in a row. We have AOE attacks in this exact event. It might be better if we could lure the Heartless into a trap of some kind, which would kill them upon being attracted by the keyblade, but again, time sensitivity.

The Heap sounds like the Compton of these many worlds and it should be swiftly exited.
>>
>>29514589
That's a fair point. Still, I'm gonna keep that idea on the back burner. At least until we find out more about the Keyblade's capabilities.
>>
>>29513454
>>29514273
It would take stopping for an extended period in order to have Dan finish work on the wolf's tear and for you all to learn a new spell.
>>
>>29515151

Oh well, let's not then. Southward bound we are.
>>
Anon is a faggot
>>
>>29513252
>I don't think we'd really decided on any questions yet.
Didn't someone suggested to learn more of "first human we see after a long time" Dan's past in previous thread?
>>
>>29512508
>Dan grabs a bottle of aspirin off of a nearby shelf and pops a couple tabs while you try and make up your mind.
“Well, if we go to the south maybe the keyblade will draw some heartless away from the crane, then we can take them out while the odds are a little more even.”
>You say as you tap the southern circle on the map and Dan nods in agreement.
>”Not a bad plan stretch, if we’re going to do it though we need to hustle. The longer we take between hitting these points and heading for the crane, the more time the Heartless have to regroup.”
>It already looks like Dan is feeling less bothered by the hits he took in the earlier scrap as he turns to head back out into the heap.
“Wait before we go, what did you have in mind for this?”
>You ask as you pull out the wolf’s tear and set it down on the map.
>”I’m not even sure if I have the parts for it here but I think I might be able to rig up some kind of hands free scope for you.
<Dan scratches his head running through a mental inventory of what he has on hand before waving his hands and dismissing the idea.”
>”like I said though, time isn’t on our side. I’ll look into building it when we get everything we need to escape from this sub Detroit hell hole.”
>You and spike nod in agreement and follow Dan back out into the wasteland.
>The three of you make your way further south between stacks of rusted automotive frames that seem to go on for miles in either direction.
>And as you walk a thought occurs to you.
“Hey Dan, I’ve been wondering; how did you survive the end of your world?”
>you ask as the three of you squeeze through a particularly narrow passage and out into a clearing beyond.
>”Probably the same way you did, I got lucky. Or maybe I was just stubborn.”
>Dan grunts tersely as he shields his eyes from the harsh sun as it climbs further into the sky.

“Look if you don’t want to talk about it I get it.”
>You say easing back off the topic.
>A few more minutes pass in silence before Dan finally sighs and speaks again.
>”Look it’s not exactly a complicated story. When I saw the signs I turned my apartment into a panic room. I tried to get Chris and Elise to do the same at their place or at least join me, but Elise convinced Chris this was me being crazy again and I couldn’t get them to come.”
>You and Spike can’t see it from your place in the marching order but Dan grimaces as he processes that thought.
>”They’re dead now for all I know.”
>Dan manages to spit the words out through clenched teeth.
>”Anyway in the end all my planning didn’t do me any good. When It all went down I was down at the Burgerphile when the sky went black and there was this crazy light filling the sky over the city.”
>”Before I knew it the restaurant had been torn out of the ground and was being sucked up towards the light. The next thing I remember is being alone in the torn off front half of the Burgerphile perched precariously on a mountain of junk.
>Dan says as he waves his arms at the piles of garbage around him to illustrate his point.
>”It’s been months since then and I’ve spent every day trying to escape this place.”
>Dan’s fist clenches as he finishes and you open your mouth to try and apologize.
“Look…”
>But Dan cuts you off.
>”I’m the one who decided to share and it wasn’t for your damn sympathy. As the only known member of the Keyblade’s chosen you need to know the stakes.”
>Dan says coldly as he points towards your destination.
>”This next spot has something that I honestly could have carried back by myself any time. The problem is actually getting it.”
>Dan becomes increasingly animated as he explains.
>”See I think this is the bridge of some destroyed ship and I think we can use the navigation system for our ticket out of this dump."
>>
>>29515967
>The little man turns to face the two of you as he continues along backwards through the trash.
>”This is where you two come in; I need you to keep them off me so I can grab what we need and get them out of here. Think you can handle it?”
>”Between the two of us we can handle whatever this place throws at us.”
>Spike says with a confident grin as he thumps himself on the chest; you simply nod in agreement with the little dragon.

>The three of you arrive at the end of the clearing, which terminates in a huge trash wall.
>At the base of this wall sits an unusual alcove.
>One made of what was once shining plastics plexiglass and steel now covered with layers of grime.
>The trash covered floor of the canyon gives way to a smooth even floor tilted back at an angle leading back to a lifeless console array lining a long wide window.
>And while the window may have once offered a stunning view of the stars all it displays now is the wall of trash that this structure is buried within.
>Half of the ruined bridge’s celling is still intact and right at the edge of the ship’s snapped superstructure there’s a cylindrical shape protruding from the otherwise uniform surface.
>By the window you can see what must be a faded diagram of the ship back when it was whole.
>At the top you can just barely make out the word AXIOM at the top of the plaque.
“So what do we do? Just pick a fight with the Heartless?”
>You ask as you survey the destroyed bridge.
>”Well you could do that but those fuckers are going to come anyway once I trip the system”
>Dan says as he removes his pack and pulls out his tools.
>”So what I recommend is that you two come up with some preemptive countermeasures before we kick this off.”
>As he says this Dan slides you a spare tool kit to work with.

>Any countermeasures you want to set up or are you ready for Dan to get to work now.

welp, poor fat humans and cute robots

Not much to re-equip for that situation, and barricaes are useless against shadows, maybe cast the Thunder Bulwark preemptively on both us and Spike (how long it lasts and how much it costs btw?). We should search around for anything useful, and probably flammable, for us and Spike to use in fight too. Scan?
>>
>>29502430
Took longer than i expected, but i just caught up
I love it so far
Despite the new setting and, i assume, new gm, it has a sort of familiar feeling, like...a certain other adventure
I can't wait for our first drive form
Do you guys think it'll be spike, one of the girls, or one of the various friends from oher worlds?
What kind of keyblades do you think we'll get?
What do you think pur drive forms wil be like?
What kind of crazy high-level spells do you think we'll get at the endgame and postgame?
>>
>>29515975
I smell either a boss fight or a "defend this area" mission coming
We could try making some barricades and casting thunder bullwark on them
>>
>>29516265
>What kind of keyblades do you think we'll get?
Now I'm thinking what keyblade we'll get for "clearing" that... world.
>Do you guys think it'll be spike, one of the girls, or one of the various friends from oher worlds?
And now I'm thinking how devastating will be Drive with Spike. Burn, baby!
>What do you think pur drive forms wil be like?
They'll be related to masks probably. Time to remember all disney cartoons with masks

A good question is, how long does Thunder Bulwark last?
>>
>>29515975
>we technically Wall-e now

Damn my uncreativity. Don't suppose we could get away with a few pitfalls or tripwires, could we?
>>
I think if we can knock some cars onto the open passages to this clearing, that would be helpful. We could delay bigger heartless trying to come through and force smaller ones to sink into the ground and come after us, so we know where they're coming from.
>>
Man, coming up with combo attacks for Dan is hard, mostly because Dan is an inarticulate ball of rage in terms of fighting. That said, maybe Dan throws his wrench at an enemy, it ricochets to us, and we rebound it back to him off of the enemy while electrifying it? It'd probably be complicated, though, that's a lot of variables.

>>29515975
Does the ship have anything in the way of defenses, or is it all trashed? We might be able to power them for a second or two, given a good arcana roll. Or maybe there's some more conventional defenses laying around, like >>29517095 and >>29516293 said. Can heartless be deterred by light? I assumed not, but if they can that's worth a shot too, see if we can find anything that'll blast a floodlight on them. At very least it could be useful for blinding them.

All depends on what's around, unless of course we want to try a hand at spellcrafting an ability that can act as a trap.
>>
Could we get a grid for this area? I feel like it'd be easier to come up with modifications if we had a better feel of the place.

Also, can we even do a bulwark? I was under the impreion we just learned raw thunder and started on the bulwark but fell asleep halfway

"Ball of rage"? You say that and I'm reminded of a particular looney tunes character who was in a fact a literal ball or rage and destruction.

Yeah, we fell asleep before we could finish the Bulwark section. And I don't think we've much time to kill reading right now.

Here's the map as it stands right now. the circle is the object on the ceiling of the bridge and the jagged line is where the ceiling juts out past the trash wall it's embedded in. Dan is back near the command console whereas you and spike are milling about looking for supplies.

An investigation roll allows you to uncover several quick discharge capacitors out in the nearby wreckage along with some chunks of hull that could be used to erect barricades or other forms of cover. You also find plenty of high strength cable that could be used for tripwires or snares. You also find what looks to be a cracked fuel cell that would probably explode pretty good if overloaded.
>>
>>29520565
Sounds like we could use the cable with the discharge capacitators to make some shock traps/snares.

We could utilize the hull chunks to make chokepoints for the non-Shadows. Perhaps set the shock traps in the gaps. The fuel cell looks to be our free AoE that shouldn't backfire as bad as the Scream Canister did. Perhaps we could keep it somewhat close and have someone toss it while we light it up?
>>
>>29520728
I was thinking more something like we bury it out there somewhere that it won't blow our asses up and drop a lightning bolt on it to turn it into a land mine.
>>
>>29520753
We could. I'm just worried that burying it might make it harder to overcharge with lightning. Might be misunderstanding how buried things react to lightning, however.
>>
>>29520872
Well maybe not bury exactly, but at least pre place it before the fight.
>>
>>29520920
So where whould we place it, in congruence with the tripwires/snares and barricades? In front of them? Behind them?
>>
>>29521182
I'm thinking bomb furthest out then barriers to hold up as many heartless as we can in the bomb blast then electrocuted tripwires.
>>
>>29521209

Let's go with this, but I would propose switching the order.

1st Defense: Bomb
2nd Defense: Tripwires
3rd Defense: Barriers

Take out the maximum amount of heartless first with bomb, fight them off from a distance as the hit electrified tripwires, and then retreat behind barriers to hold the line with Spike, until either they realize the siege isn't worth it or we can skedaddle with the part.
>>
>>29521494
I like this plan, though I have another question: how fast can we recall our keyblade and then use it? If we can get it back and then cast with it in the same turn, this might be a good time to try the baiting strategy by putting the blade on top of the explosive trap.
>>
>>29521596
I can see that, but the issue is we need the keyblade to cast magic, so not having it on us could be dangerous.
>>
>>29521746
>>29521596

We should keep it on hand. Risking maximum distance doesn't seem smart when we don't know for sure if we can.
>>
>>29520565
>>29520565
>>29520565
Are any of those chunks of hull small/light enough to be usable as a shield or as armor?

If we're setting up barricades, it might be a good idea to set up some protection for Dan.

I really like the idea of using the barricades to make bottlenecks and generally limit their mobility. Spike's charge attack goes in a straight line, so we can make "hallways" to take advantage of that. Maybe we can even set up higher ground so that Anon can safely spam Thunder and keep an eye on the battle.
Let's go tower defense on this.

That said, I get the feeling that shadows won't give a shit about the barricades and will simply sneak across them, so I propose that we set most of our tripwires near Dan to defend him from anything that may slip through Spike and Anon.
>>
>>29522733
Some are small enough to be used as a shield but you don't have any way of reliably setting up something to hold it with.

I should point out on this tower defense strategy those capacitors will not only electrify trip wires, if you set them out in the field and drop a targeted thunderbolt on them then they will discharge electricity in a 15 foot radius around them allowing you to effectively drop a thunder at distant locations instead of just directly on top of Anon.
>>
Nah, in a defense scenario like this, you really want to maintain a fair amount of maneuverability / mobility, especially with enemies who can basically tunnel under most stationary defenses. The problem with the Tower Defense strategy you've got going on is that there's little to no way to keep the Heartless on a track or prevent them from bypassing the "sentries" comprised of us, Spike, and the tripwires.
>>
>>29522768
Ah, right. Do we have the tools to be able to fashion a strap out of the cable we found?

>>29522816
It could help manage the Hearless that can't tunnel through. But you have a point, if most of the Heartless are shadows like last time then we would be fucked.

For what it's worth, I think >>29521494 is a pretty solid plan.
>>
>>29522979
>Strap
Not really, the cable would work the problem is attaching it to the hull plating.

So are we cool with >>29521494 or are you all still deliberating?

>You and Spike get to work trying to erect what fortifications you can with the supplies on hand.
>”Do you think we’ll really be able to do anything with all this junk?”
>Spike asks as the two of you sift through the refuse.
“Well we won’t know till we look.”
>And while you force yourself to sound optimistic when you reply to the little dragon, secretly you share his misgivings.
>Or at least you do until you begin to discover all kinds of high technology scattered around the clearing.
>Looks like picking a fight near a crashed spaceship has its advantages.
>When everything is said and done you uncover several quick discharge capacitors out in the wreckage along with a few chunks of hull that could be used to erect barricades or other forms of cover.
>You also find plenty of high strength cable that could be used for tripwires or snares.
>Finally you also find what looks to be a cracked fuel cell that you think would probably explode pretty good if you can figure out a way to overload it.
>You lay what you’ve managed to gather at the edge of the ruin bridge and the two of you get to work assembling your defenses.
>You leave the fuel cell half way down the clearing after covering I with chunks of scrap metal.
>”Is this like a camouflage thing?”
>Spike asks as the two of you return to the bridge for more supplies.
“Partly, mostly it’s to add some shrapnel to the mix when we set that puppy off.”
>You reply as you drive one of the cable wrapped capacitors into the ground.
>Spike grins as he drives his anchor into the ground and the two of you tie off the cable.
>After repeating the process a few more times the two of you finally get around to setting up Barricades at the entrance to the bridge.
>When the two of you are satisfied that your makeshift wall will be able to keep the Heartless at bay you turn to Dan.

>”Brace yourselves boys shit’s about to get nuts!”
>Dan shouts back as he yanks a panel off the side of the command console.
>As soon as he does you hear an emergency power source hum to life and the instrument panel begins to flicker.
>Unfortunately the flickering displays and computer readouts are accompanied by a hiss as a pneumatic panel opens in the protrusion on the ceiling.
>What emerges from the hatch looks like a mechanical ship’s steering wheel covered in a cracked and yellowing plastic coating with a glowing red eye in the center.
>It slowly scans the room and freezes when it sees you and spike.
>The glowing red eye flickers as the wheel starts to speak.
>At first the voice filling the room seizes up as the decayed speakers pop and strain to accomidate the unexpected demand but when they finally kick in the machine’s voice is surprisingly deep.
[IIIIIIIINTRUDER DETECTED…ACTIVATE COUNTER MEASURES…]
>There’s a lot of popping and sputtering as the counter measures on what remains of the Axiom try and fail to come on line.
>”Looks like this might be easier than we thought.”
>Spike says with a grin as the wheel spins near the ceiling unable to do so much as come lower and swat at you on its rusted railing.
>The wheel turns to you and you can briefly see the same symbol that adorned the chest of the hasmat suited Heartless in the emotionless mechanical eye as it speaks again.

>You turn to look out past the barricade and you see not just a heartless but 10.
>You can see four heartless you’ve never seen before, dark blue with sharp maroon claws and a silver, almost comically ill fitting, helmet with a crooked spiraling antenna hiding a pitch black face with glowing yellow eyes.
>these four inept looking soldiers are soon followed by four familiar shadows pulling themselves up out of the trash, but they aren’t the last to appear.
>The final thing that you witness is a pair of shining ovoid shapes pulling themselves up out of the trash.
>At first they look like something off an apple assembly line gleaming white and perfect, but as you look closer you can see the cracks running through their surface.
>The second one even has a huge hole smashed clean through the bottom of its egg like frame leaving it’s inner workings exposed
>A hiss of smoke issues from the top of these machines as a pair of arms and a head begin to float separate from their bodies.
>A heartless crest lights up on the front of what passes for the chest of these derelict robots and you can finally see their cracked faceplates flicker to life displaying a pair of lifeless yellow eyes.
“You just had to open your mouth didn’t you spike.”

Do we want to set off the bomb turn one or should we wait for a better grouping?
>>
>>29524584
Give it until our next turn
>>
Let's not set off the bomba just yet. I say we just electrify some of the tripwires with Thunder since the heartless are gonna take at least a couple turns to come
>>
Yen, would we be able to tell or make an educated guess as to the range this bomb has? Because if the range is large enough, we may want to ignite now. If it's only like 10 feet for range, probably not.
>>
>>29524147
What do you mean when you say that AUTO is out of range? Is he too high up to hit with the Keyblade or something?
>>
>>29525447
Just throw Spike at AUTO

Having just watched fucking Wall-e, I'm a little mad I didn't respond sooner about AUTO probably still being around. After we take out this first wave, I'm voting we scan and see if we notice pic related. Maybe we can deactivate him and stop more unnecessary waves of heartless from overrunning our position? Alternatively, just fling Spike up at him and tell him to start mashing triangle!
>>
>>29525447
AUTO is too high up to hit among other things.
>>
>>29525479

>Too high up

Fuck that shit, Let's use Spike's Rocket charge pointed upwards to go full final countdown on his once shiny ass
>>
>>29525657
Much nastier and worse small problems comes first. Especially with two guys that probably have range attacks and can't trip over vires and traps, floating around them
>>
>>29524147
First, I'd like to point out that this is "Wave 1", and while we have no guarantee that there will be others, we should be cautious about blowing all of our traps on the first wave unless we're getting good value from them. Note: I end every Final Fantasy with a billion Elixirs by following his logic, so take that into consideration.

Second ,I really REALLY want to thrust our keyblade deep into the delicate exposed circuitry of that EVE and overload it with electricity.

Third, if we're going to venture beyond the barricades we set up, I'd say we shouldn't go too far beyond the left-hand gap, as most of these guys are melee and probably can't close the distance to us and attack in one turn. Left gets us close enough to probably hit all three of the front wires next turn, and hopefully draws them away from Spike's side so he can set up a good angle for his charge.

Yo Yen, do we get to know the initiative now or do we find the order out on first turn? I've seen both done, just wondering which setup we're going with.

>>29525469
Even if we can't shut him down, maybe we can reason with him long enough to buy Dan some time to work? Ask him to reboot in safe mode, return manual control, or calculate the final digit of pi. Maybe we can trap him in a logic loop by shouting paradoxes at him. If nothing else, it'll be entertaining.
>>
One thing we could do, if/when AUTO comes back down to scan, is throw/jam our keyblade in between some of his parts so that it'll get stuck on the ceiling once he tries to retreat and stop him

That is, of course, assuming he can't exert enough force to damage our keyblade. I know Yen said it could take a lot of punishment but you know.
>>
>>29526042
We are talking about a weapon that can parry Leon, Cloud, and Sephiroth's attacks, as well as innumerable other things without a scratch.
>>
>>29525998
>reason with him to buy dan enough time to work.

I'm kind of under the impression that all Auto can do is call heartless. If he could have done something directly I think he would have
>>
>>29527972
Well, yeah, he tried to do "something directly" already and failed

So, what exactly is our plan? Wait for next waves or more heartless before blowing up bomb (and try to learn it's range), go to barricades and maybe even further, wait for heartless to come closer to stumble upon first row of tripwires and\or line up perectly for Spike's charges and our swings, scan everything to get to AUTO sooner my bet he is going to come out every time to spawn next waves and be vulnerable at these moments or try to trick him (yeah, right), probably tell Dan to work faster, anything else?
>>
So what's our range on movement and spellcasting?

As of right now, we can reach the first tripwire by moving 15 feet. first diagonally and then directly and then we are out of the barricade. The very first heartless are 30ft away from that same spot.

Do you guys think we should move out of the barricade so we have better access to the tripwires that we may electrify and the bomb to set it off whenever we want? We can retreat behind the barricade when the shit gets too near the fan.
>>
>>29528317

Yeah, let's move a little further out (not past the trip wires) and keep Spike back to get the best general combat options.
>>
>>29528317
If we activate the tripwires do they still do an aoe burst when we hit them?
>>
>>29528317
Yen said lightning has a 20ft (4 squares) range when used a la KH1. We'd have to move outside the barrier to hit all three of the closest wires in that way; I'm assuming from the way it was described that we can electrocute them and have it damage anything caught in the wire, right? I'm understanding that correctly I think.

We could try a horizontal lightning bolt, but it would probably be harder to control the longer the range we tried to use it at. I'm fine waiting to see what range the enemy has before we attack, to conserve mana, but we probably have enough juice to try pegging a Soldier from range. Other than that, I don't think we can get close enough to attack without getting mobbed in response.

>>29528317
We can probably trust that the Soldiers and EVEs are going to be at least slowed down by the barricades, but remember that the Shadows could slide right under the trash in the last battle. Just sayin', we shouldn't count the fortress impenetrable just yet.
>>
>>29529146
with them wired up like this it's not a particularly large burst but yes anything standing within five feet of a capacitor gets a jolt when you activate a line.

And it looks like the plan is to have anon move up and activate the lines while spike hangs back and defends one of your choke points?
>>
>>29530297
What happens if we activate the lines, again? Getting the tripwires ready to release electircal shocks or something?
>>
>>29530347
that's right, enemies that run into it get electrified, charge lasts up to five uses.
>>
>>29530356
Cool, I agree with that plan.
>>
>>29524147
“Hold down the fort spike!”
>You shout before the heartless have a chance to react as you dart out past the barrier and over the final tripwire and you put the keyblade to work activating your countermeasures.
“Get ready to ride the lightning!”
>You shout as you use your newfound mystical connection to call down bolts of electricity from the heavens.
>You barely manage to dodge a stray ark of electricity from a nearby capacitor as it hums to life and your tripwires begin to buzz with your high voltage fury.
>One of the two hovering robot heartless isn’t nearly so lucky as electricity arks from a nearby capacitor and strikes it center mass causing its crest to flicker momentarily as the heartless flails in midair.
>As sparks fly from the short circuiting EVE unit the four heartless submerge beneath the trash of the battlefield and disappear.
>Two of them however reappear again in short order as they crash into your tripwire’s capacitors flinging one of them from the ground and back into full material form both smoking slightly from its high voltage encounter.
>The second shadow is unlucky enough to get itself wedged between two capacitors at once and explodes in a puff of black smoke as the trap destroys it entirely.
>As the soldiers see one of their companions vaporized they rush you from all sides.
>The two on the left both manage to hop over the first tripwire but crash directly into the second one sending the pair into convulsions.
>But that isn’t enough to stop one of them from picking itself up off the ground and flinging itself at you in a flying kick.
>Unfortunately for this poor soldier you manage to deftly sidestep the attack and it sales into a second tripwire electrocuting it a second time.
>the soldiers on the right do much better, one is held up by the outermost tripwire but the second deftly leaps over every trap in its path before launching a flying kick of its own your way.

>But you’re ready for it and side step this attack as easily as you did the first.
>Regrettably there isn’t an electrified power cable ready to catch this heartless.
>”Hold em off as long as you can boys, use this if you need it!”
>Dan shouts as he tosses a bottle of aspirin over his shoulder at spike before continuing his work.
>Meanwhile the two robotic heartless take aim at you as each of their right arms transforms into some kind of plasma cannon.
>The EVE you managed to electrocute earlier is the first to act as it charges up its cannon and fires a single massive bolt of energy your way.
>The electrical charge slams you center mass with enough force to nearly send you stumbling back into your own tripwire, but you manage to barely maintain your balance at the last second.
>The second heartless machine fires a salvo of three smaller bolts your way but the shots go wide and impact harmlessly against the barrier behind you.
>As soon as Spike sees you stumble he runs up to one of the chokepoints in your perimeter and brandishes his lance ready to charge.
>”Just say the word and I’m all over ‘em big guy!”
>The baby dragon growls ready to come to your defense as the two of you prepare for the next clash with this battalion of heartless.
>As you square off you can hear the strained bass voice of the ship’s wheel in the background.

Can we roll an investigation check to figure out why Auto lost like 11 hp out of nowhere?
>>
>>29531413

He's probably losing HP because of Dan messing with the system. When he reaches 0, Dan gets the navigating system and we win, we hold them off until then.

Get another Thunder off and then go left to cover the other chokepoint, have Spike Fire Breath at the nearest EVE
>>
>>29531382
Damn, so many fried enemies. Let's try to not step onto these wires by ourselves
>>
And by the way, what do you think our six pone friends doing right now? They probably ended up in different worlds, with different flow of time, and nopony familiar around. What they would do in such places for such a long time? Aside from Twilight, she's probably practicing how to pronounce DARKNESS right far away from all of us
>>
>>29531809
Flutternutter is probably hanging around Zootopia, simultaneously trying to avoid pissing off a carnivore and wanting to hug literally every resident.
Durarara is having a grand old time with Charlotte and dreading the inevitability of having to go out in the swamp to help her find Tiana.
Snappleback is hilariously unaware of how racist Songs of the South is, and is enjoying being around some of Anon's people who actually talk right for once.
Panko Fry is teaching Taran and Eilonwy some fun songs to sing while trapped in a dungeon, surprised that she wound up in like the only movie from that era that doesn't have any musical numbers.
Top Cunt is having the time of her life playing pirate with "Captain" Silver, unaware that she's on the wrong side of this particular conflict just yet.
And Twi-Fi is probably hanging out with Bill Cypher, Dr. Facilier, The Horned King, and some other shadowy figures, trying to figure out how to move troops efficiently to each world so she can get all of her friends back together and rescue Anon, who'll be so grateful for the rescue that he'll mount her basically on sight.

Y'know, either that or Xyrriat, Jax, Thrystuflex, Pixiken, Winxroba, and Xalperks are all sitting in a pure white room trying to figure out what it felt like to be Kind or Honest or Loyal etc. etc., with their Heartless roaming other worlds yearning for the strong hearts they used to possess.
>>
>>29531388
So it looks like, when the next wave comes in, that we should activate the bomb immediately, since in one turn they managed to completely avoid the range.
>>
>>29531692
I wonder if it's less because of dan and more because the axiom is fucked in general and auto is dying from lack of power. If so I wonder if we can play to our bitter enemies into friends path and recruit auto saving him from this fate.

>>
We might want to make some distance between us and the tripwires. That EVE shot almost charged us more than we got.
>>
>>29534412
We'll have to clear a path to move though. If we cut and run now we're going to take at least two if not more attacks of opportunity
>>
>>29534437
But after clearing path we must get away from wires, and Spike too. Aside from range bots and soldiers there's two shadows hidden and waiting to get to us, and stumbling into thing that can KO shadow in one zzap sounds like a bad thing
>>
>>29534593
It was technically two zaps. Two zaps that hit the only soldier that got tagged twice with 6 damage. So I think the shadow may have just got an unlucky break on its rolls.
>>
>>29531789

>49.99 for a qt evil self aware robot

Apple has gone to the light side? I wouldn't expect a penny less than 249.99

Also nice work namine, I like the black heartless smog as the "neck"

Anyway, so WHAT are we doing exactly?
>>
>>29535125
The only plan I've seen so far is thunder and run from Anon and then fire breath for spike.

Is that what you guys wanna do?
>>
>>29535395
I feel like spending the fire breath this early with two more areas left is irresponsible.
>>
>>29535395
So, I think if we run, we're going to incur attacks of opportunity, no? Might be in our best interest to attack first, magic or not. I know we're generally immune from our own magic, but are we immune from the wires if they're powered by our magic?

Thunder will hit 4 of the 6 enemies we can see, I'd say that's excellent damage economy. Spike is unfortunately bottom of initiative order, so he won't be able to assist us in getting out of our bind too much this turn.

>>29535578
Careful of Elixir Syndrome, but yeah, it's pretty early in what could be a long fight or string of fights. Even without the charge, Spike had some good damage on that lance, let's have him smack down the Soldier on our right and maybe open the way for an escape next turn, if between the two of us we can get it gone.
>>
>>29535790
Unfortunately since your tripwires are machines you are subject to damage of you get caught in them. That said your save to get over them is much easier than the Heartless'.

Do you or Spike want to make a persuasion check on Auto? You can do it as a bonus action if you're interested in trying to talk him down or recruit him. If you're interested let me know what you want to say to try and persuade him.
>>
>>29535971
I don't think it matters who does the persuasion, but I think we should do something like >>29532521 and >>29532475, where we tell him that the Axiom is broken and slowly dying. Whoever gave him his previous orders is probably long dead.

If we have to choose a person to do the persuasion, I vote Anon, as long as he isn't shocking himself to death at the moment.
>>
>>29535971
I don't have anything specific, but asking him if he would like to fly/pilot again sounds like a good idea. For someone whose job it was to guide people across the stars (I assume we can at least understand that he was some sort of navigation system, but I may be assuming too much) he would want to be put back in a ship to help and guide people.
>>
>>29536022
>>29536040
I can work with that but if anyone can come up with a good line to say then you can pick up bonuses on your persuasion roll.
>>
>>29535971
How about something to the effect of:
"Hey, computer thing! Why are you summoning Heartless? I doubt this is part of your base programming, state your prime directive and how your current actions contribute to its accomplishment! As a navigation computer, do you not have an obligation to assist in directing humans to a destination? "
>>
>>29536296
This is pretty good, let's go with this.
>>
>>29536296
This sounds pretty good for our good lines for >>29536201.
>>
>>29536296
Anon don't even know if that's a humans ship. And AUTO called both humans and dragon "intruders", no difference for it. Maybe better just tell him that ho one left to save or protect (aside from trio of us from even bigger number of actual intruders)?
>>
>>29536915
A good old fashioned your ship is dead, your mission is failed, and you have no one left to protect. type of speech? I can dig it.
>>
>>29536915
This is a valid point, maybe instead of the bit about serving humans, we suggest that he "reconsider your directive in the context of the current situation! On a crashed ship with no passengers in range of your sensors, what do you mean to defend with your 'defensive measures'?"

Ultimately this would work a lot better as a protracted conversation, but we're kind of busy with fighting and can't really afford to have this chat over the course of 10 rounds of combat.
>>
>>29532475
If that recruiting by any miracle will be succesful, we will get not just running on a kids screams gummy ship, but with way too dangerous and greedy for power AI on it as a bonus... I wanna see that now

>>29536974
Then we need to summarize all that into proper short and logical for AUTO lines.
>>
>>29537033

>>
>>29537033

Without sensors... or anything stable and working for that matter, it's gonna be hard for you, AUTO. Especially with how much time left for you. Wanna go full 'auto' and join our party to find your friends (and probably kill us one day but that's not a big deal)?
>>
Between Photon bomb and tripwires, It seems like anon's favored Combat method is mine-based. I'm cool with it.

Fire off another Thunder then pop an aspirin, we are getting low

Should we have Spike pursue an EVE or hold the line? There is one That's been taking potshots at us unimpeded by the wires

Can we do both Tunder and Aspirin? I feel like, if we have to prioritize one or the other, then the healing should come first.

I just had an idea.

We could keep playing off the Mine Hazard theme with our future spells, here's an idea: once we learn how to cast Fire, we can find a way to shape it into a ring and cast it around an enemy, and then detonate It remotely so It takes out any enemies around our target too. I can only assume the brunt of the damage would go to the middle target, but still could be useful for crowd control. Pic related

Also, we gotta learn how to combine Blade and bulwark/shroud to cast Blade barrier
>>
>>29538000
I could see that being really useful. Maybe have it be a ranged attack with relatively low initial damage, but it marks them for X turns, and if we kill it in that time, the mark explodes for AoE damage? That way other allies could trigger it too. Higher levels of the spell could even chain the effect, so killing something with the AoE damage causes them to emit AoE damage too.
>>
>>29538039

I kinda pictured it as a timebomb of sorts, we just set it and then it blows on its own but the mark idea is neat.

We could use it with all three elements for different effects too. A frost nova bomb with blizzard to maybe freeze heartless would be nice

Looking at this, considering how we're the only thing standing between the Soldiers/Shadows and Dan, firing off another Thunder seems the best course of action.

If we can heal ourselves with the Aspirin as well, then I'd like to do that too.
>>
>>29538703
How much does a Full Swing do in terms of damage? And do we have to choose between Aspirin and attacking? Also, which EVE and Soldier are the most damaged? Because the one directly to our north is set up to take some serious damage from the capacitors if we hit them with another thunder.

Yen, can Spike take a 5-foot step without penalty? Because he could mow down 3 in a row if they don't move this turn, or he somehow moves before them. Might be better if we could get input on Spike's actions after the Heartless act rather than before, whatever plans we make with him can easily be outdated by the time his turn rolls around.

Thoughts on saying something along these lines to AUTO, guys?
>>
We definitely need to talk him down or we're going to get another wave of these assholes. Let's try agreeing with Auto. Something along the lines

"We're looking for people that's why we need some of these parts. We can take you with us and look for your passengers together. That's the only way you'll ever find them. If you kill us then you'll be left to rust here and NEVER fulfill your directive."

I imagine he'll want some reassurances after that, but it's a good intro. We can offer to fix his sensors and promise to give back whatever parts we took once his passengers are found. We may need to repeat that 'working with us is the ONLY way to achieve your directive' more than once to drive that point home. He should value that more highly than a minor subroutine devoted to keeping the bridge free of unauthorized people.

I'll do a break mid turn for spike.

Full swing does the same damage as a normal attack it just lets you hit all the enemies in front of you at once.

Yes spike can five foot step without penalty.

You will unfortunately need to choose between healing and attacking with the aspirin. Unlike potions you must take it yourself it can't be used on you by a party member.

The damaged Eve is the eastern one. I forget which soldier is the most damaged at the moment though.
>>
The next turn I'm thinking of is a combination of what many other people have said, however this does assume that we can use aspirin and attack in the same turn.

First; Pop some Aspirin
Second: Have Spike five-foot step northeast (doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity) and charge those three Heartless that are in a line.
Third; have Anon Home Run that other Heartless into the very damaged (2 Health) EVE bot.
Fourth; Convince Auto to come with us via the fact that the only way he will find his passengers is to come with the group and accept us (Anon) as acting Captain. >>29539075 Has a good quote about being active captain. Speaking in precise terms Auto can understand is likely going to be important.
>>
>>29540525

With Yen's info, I suggest we forgo healing this turn in favor of this maneuver. I don't think we'll get another chance like this. And it just occurred to me I don't know what the range on our Home Run is. Heartless can't weigh too much, can they?

Anon can probably survive a couple more hits as long as he's not swarmed (and finds cover from the EVEs), so I'm still down for trying to homerun a twofer, and talking is a bonus action, so no complaints there. Let's decide Spike's action when it's his turn though.
>>

>>29541873

>>
>>29541988
and then we could move up to thunder both the EVEs. maybe even the last soldier too.
>>
>>29542029

Our current plan is to homerun the heartless Spike won't get with his charge into the damaged EVE, leaving hopefully just one full health EVE, maybe a low health smaller fry or two.
>>
>>29541873
Sounds good to me, I don't think we'll get a better chance than this for Spike to charge without putting himself in danger afterwards.
>>
Someone was asking earlier how distance was determined for home run derby.

Well basically home run derby trades damaged rolled for distance traveled. the magically enhanced version negates that trade. it's simply you travel distance equal to damage done.

The specifics depends on size category.
Shadows, elemental heartless and other small heartless are 10 feet per 1 point of damage.

Medium heartless like soldiers and bandits are 5 feet per damage

large heartless like large bodies and fat bandits travel on a one to one ratio. one foot per damage done.
>>
>>29539504
speaking of skynet, we're going to star command eventually right? maybe we can pick up a robot body for Auto there and turn hm into a full blown party member. go all terminator on the heartless

“On second thought I could really use some fire support here little guy!”

>”Don’t sweat it, I got your back big guy!
>You hear spike shout back to you as Spike digs deep and darts out around the shadow trying to pin him into your makeshift base.
>”You aren’t touching my friends on my watch!”

“We need a navigation system and you need a ship and a crew. So I have a proposal for you: register my friends and I as crew and accept one of us your acting captain. If you do that we’ll hook you up with a new ship to navigate and we can all get off this heap."

>Behind the once glowing red eye there’s a sturdy semitransparent cylinder revealing a glimmering processer the likes of which you’ve never seen before.
>You can only assume that the object you’re now holding in your hand is Otto’s brain.
“Well Dan I guess you have all the time you need to pull out the navigation system now.”

>Back to base or off to the eastern zone?
>>
>>29543447
Holy shit, we actually did it
How are we doing on hp?
Going by kingdom hearts level structure, if this is the side mission, the eastern zone is the boss fight
If we're 50% or lower, i say we head back to base
>>
>>29543471
Anon is at 16/31 and spike is at 27/37

you guys rolled hella well and Otto rolled poorly on that last negotiation check. so he was forced to bow to your logic.

And I should point out, the Eastern zone is the third place Dan scouted out for parts in an attempt to avoid the crane area which is usually crawling with heartless.
>>
>>29543478
Im opperating under the assumption we need to clear the crane area to clear the world. So i think I want to go ahead and hit the east zone so we can rest up and be at 100%
>>
>>29543471
No, it's the third side mission, just the hardest one due to being near center of heartless biggest swarm at crane

I would say that we should take some aspirin and go finish east zone before calling it a day. We did south zone way too well (Twilight and Pinkie is surely proud of us) with just Spike and Anon, but Dan is fresh and new active party member again. Healing Aspirin works with per-day-per-character restriction, so if east baddies will be too harsh on us (and they surely will), better have a full night rest and fully restocked healing items before trip to even harder crane

>>29543478
why I have a feeling after that Axiom fight that Monsters Inc. fight was planned much harder? And that we were just way too lucky to buff monster with canisters only once? How scary "sub-boss" would look after all 5 canisters triggered?
>>
I am very eager to learn more spells, so I want to rest and at least finish the bulwark section and maybe get started on shroud. But majority rules
>>
If we're going to be studying up on magic should we expand our elemental repertoire or should we just be really fucking good at thunder based magic?
>>
>>29543929
>>29543478
How much MP we have left? If low, then it's probably for the best to call it a day earlier, even with a good run so far. Still no Ethers for us, only healing stuff, and with no magic our butts gonna be kicked fast and painfully

>>29543936
Considering that everyone have weaknesses, it's probably for the best to have more at least basic options. We tried Thunder already, and with Spike's breath only Blizzard left to try out
>>
I agree, we should pop some aspirin and move along to the Eastern Site. Sleep afterwards and have only the crane fight left.
>>
>>29543959
Thunder (with the half-MP bonus from going magic stick mode) costs 8mp,and we have 46, so that's 5 casts plus a little to maybe put towards empowered keyblade moves. Do we recover all our MP during a long rest, or is it recovered like HP where we have a dice that determines replenishing rate? That'd be my limiting factor, since Aspirin will clear up our HP issues from this fight.

I feel like whatever benefits we get from quitting now will be offset by the fact that more heartless will have wandered to the east site.

>>29543936
More elements mean more creativity when it comes to using our spells, though I would definitely like to get to the end of the Bulwark section before starting on anything else. Damage reduction is something our scrawny ass could definitely use more of.

>>29543478
Acknowledged, but even if we don't HAVE to go to the Crane, we're probably going to at least try to scout it out to see whether there are any pieces there worth the effort of clearing it out to get. I'm picturing us sneaking up, letting Dan peek at the stuff with the Wolf Eye, and if there's something he says might be worth risking his skin for, we'll strategize from there. We defer to his ship-building judgment.
>>
Remember that we already started on the bulwark section though, and seeing as how we are Wizards and have been getting swarmed learning protection isn't bad at all. Also we are in a place with loads of metal and circuitry so getting more adept at Thunder Magic could prove more useful
>>
>>29544028
That sounds good to me.
>>
>>29544408
Actually, belay that. Are we talking about the East area like the Crane, or another area before the Crane?

>>
>>29544418
"Crane" and "east area close to crane" are two different locations
>>
>>29544445
So,

>”Do you boys feel like calling it for the day or do you want to press on to the last site? “

>>
>>29544481
Yip, last out of three "not a crane and yet have some gummy parts" locations
>>
>>29544496
That doesn't sound too bad, then. Might as well have Spike pop an Aspirin as well, then, since his low INT will make it less effective.
>>
>>29544481
>>29544445
That's what >>29543478 is saying, our whole point of going to the Axiom, getting the Scream Canisters, and now going to the Eastern site, all that was to avoid the Crane. Whether it all winds up being for naught because some essential piece we need to launch is at the Crane remains to be seen; that's how most JRPGs go, but nothing says Yen has to follow that convention.
>>
>>29544535
My bad, must have skipped it. I have a bad habit of reading past some things.

>>29544535

>>29544602

>>
>>29544730
Correct. Spellcrafting abilities are learned independently of elemental magic.
>>
>>29544749
Is there a point where we'll be able to come up with our own spellcrafting stuff?
>>
>>29544794
Indeed there is. Once you learn these three basic forms you'll be able to start creating your own.
>>
>>29544831
What if we try to add an element to the big swing?
>>
>>29544939
I assume it would do elemental damage on top of physical.
>>
>>29544831

Baller. We should keep track of what we want to try

We should definitely get on trying to learn ring form and Mine form when we can
>>
>>29544939
>>29545107
That's something you can do now with any elements you learn. It'll cost you 2 MP to add 1d4 elemental damage to your attack. Like all elemental damage that d4 gets bumped up to a d6 if you hit an elemental weakness with it.
>>
>>29545154
You know, something just occurred to me: do our spells allow for friendly fire? If not, we could cast Ring spells (once we figure them out) on allies just as well as enemies and give Spike the ability to charge in and Aloha Snackbar them with our spell. Even if they do, dragonbro's fire immune so we could still cast the fire variant on him without penalty.

Come to think of it, that logic should make Shroud our next priority, we can give him a deterrent for enemies to attack him without occupying his hand with a Bulwark.
>>
>>29545381
That's a good point, but we'd have to learn Fire in order to do that well.
>>
>>29545381
Raw elemental spells with large aoe effects don't tend to have friendly fire. The magic knows your intent so you'll find the random thunderbolts from your thunder spells mysteriously missing your friends. Tighter aoe effects that you have to aim don't have the same luxury to just mysteriously miss an ally outright. But you will find ally's have an easier time getting out of the way and can often save for 0 damage as opposed to half. The magic is an extension of your will so if you aren't trying to hurt them the magic is going to try to not hurt them too.

Spellcrafted effects are a whole new ball of wax though. The act of forcing wild magic into that regimented form separates it from its natural state as an extension of your will. It's like programming a computer. If you tell it to explode on contact it will, regardless of who it makes contact with or who might be caught in the explosion. as such friendly fire is something you're going to need to consider when it comes to spellcrafting.
>>
>>29545447
We'll also have to learn bulwark shroud and blade before we can start developing ring.
>>

Well, time to make a spreadsheet with all combinations that anons wants to try out, for future use and to not forget successful moves and their cost if we'll make any

So if we get to start developing new shapes and uses when we master crafting magic, do we get to alchemy stop, cure and gravity after we master the basic three elements or do we have to search around for those?

I'm glad we can talk enemies down/recruit them. This might backfire sometimes, but it tickles me that fighting isn't always the only answer.

Okay, what kind of spellcrafting forms do you think we should aim for?

So, anything you want to talk with dan or spike about on the way to the next location? You guys have some time to talk here as you pick your way through the heap.
>>
>>29548633
Well, since spike is most likely coming with us, let's talk to dan
First thing's first, we'll see if there's anything else he knows about keyblades and our current situation
>>

>Since spike is most likely coming with us
Holy shit are you planning on leaving Dan behind on this wasteland after stealing the ship he's worked months to build?

That's cold son.
>>
>>29548633

We can Ask Dan about how he wants to approach the site. What dangers it has, what we could find there and if he needs us to cover him while he retrieves whatever he needs.

Also ask him if he knows where do those robots and the remains of the ship come from.
>>
>>29548633

Is this system inspired by Bravely Second, by any chance?

>>29548523
Some sort of stalagmite, something with homing capabilities, and some sort of floating mine that homes into enemies that get close, like in Soul Sacrifice.
>>
>>29549407
Its more a convergent evolution than directly inspired by bravely second. I honestly wanted to use a different name for the system but I got lazy with it and ended up going with spell crafting because it was the most straight forward.

>>29549335
You only have so much time before you reach the next site so that might have to wait till this evening. but I'll be sure to have you float the question by Dan before the day ends.
>>
>>29549207
Nah, i just assumed that he'd be stuck here because kingdom hearts logic
So if he is, i figure we should talk to him while we can

What the fuck has Dan been eating in the literal months since he got here? Heartless poof into shadows when you kill them, and I hope for his sake he hasn't been reading Burgerphile leftovers, that shit was probably killing him when when it was fresh. Has he just been scavenging whenever a world dumps something remotely edible and rationing it out, or what?
>>
>>29549504
Hopefully it'd be far less broken if it had been based off of Bravely Second. Spellcrafting in that was too powerful.
>>
>>29549579
Yeah I thought that was probably going to be the case, it's not like you all have learned much new since the walk out to the Axiom.

>>29549597
Again this will come up tonight, but the short answer is Dan was lucky enough to find a truck full of canned goods after a few days of surviving on what he could scavenge out of the burgerphile, ketchup packets, leftover burgers, ect.

the shorter answer is he subsisted on the power of plot armor so he could be alive here when you arrive
>>

>You and spike are a little roughed up after that last fight, maybe you should call it quits for the day.
>You know what, on second thought, fuck that.
“Spike, hit me with that bottle of aspirin.”
>You hold out a hand to the little dragon who promptly deposits the mostly empty bottle of pills in your outstretched palm with a slight rattle.
“How quick can we get to the last site?”
>You ask Dan as you pop open the bottle and shake a pill into your hand before gulping it down dry.
>Dan slows down for a second as he thinks about the answer to your question.
>”Well if we go back to the station and drop off our loot it’ll take a couple of hours.”
>Spike groans at the revelation and you can’t help but wonder if that’ll cut it too close for comfort with the approaching nightfall.
>”But if we go straight there from here we can probably be there in like twenty minutes.”
>Dan ignores spike’s grousing as he finishes his thought and points off to the north east through the rows of ruined cars.
“Well then what are we waiting for, the sooner we get this done the sooner we can get out of here right?”
>You ask as you peel off down the alternate path.
>Dan readjusts his pack before shrugging and following you down the path.
>”You know what fuck it. I can carry this shit for a little while longer.”
>Dan says with a sigh as he and spike join you on the path to your next and hopefully final acquisition.
>Shortly after Dan resumes his place leading the three of you through the labyrinthine stacks of rusted metal the weight of Otto’s core in your pocket prompts a rather unpleasant thought.
>What if you come from that world, and the wreckage of the Axiom is proof that it’s already dead?
“Say Dan, do you know anything about where that ship we just looted came from?”
>”Why the hell would I?”
>The irritation is plain in Dan’s voice as he replies.
>”The only thing I know is that it has the aesthetic of a Steve Jobs wet dream.
>>

>That, and every time I’d try and salvage parts from it a god damn homicidal steering wheel would drop out of the ceiling and sick a squad of heartless on me.”
>”You know, the same killer robot you decided to get all buddy buddy with “Captain”?”
>Dan’s voice drips with sarcasm as he makes air quotes around the word captain.
>You aren’t really sure what to say to that as you look down at the lump in your coat made by Otto’s core.
>”If you really want to know I’d ask the robot once we get it turned on.”
>You look up shocked.
>Dan hates this thing, what’s he doing being so accepting of the idea of bringing it on board?
“What gives, I thought you’d want to smash it in the night or something?”
>”Well at first that’s exactly what I was planning, it was on my list after all.”
>Dan says nonchalantly as he squeezes between an unusually close pair of stacks.
>”But then I got to thinking about what you said about it not being able to do anything to us anymore. I figured being reduced to the function of map is a humiliating enough revenge.”
>”Plus I don’t really think a computer will really get the concept of just deserts, so an elaborate scheme is really wasted on it.”
>That makes sense in a weirdly vindictive sort of way, you think before shrugging and following Dan through the gap.
>At least he’s not gunning for Otto anymore.
>After Dan reassures you he isn’t planning on going all Lee Harvey Oswald on your new navigator a few minutes pass in silence after before you finally break the silence again.
“So what exactly are we going after this time?”
.>You ask trying to change the subject.
>”This is our second shot at a vessel since the van was a bust. As pissed as I am about losing such a comfy ride, this one is honestly probably a better vessel candidate.”
>”What do you mean better candidate?”
>Spike chimes in from his position trundling along as the rear guard.

>”I mean the car looks like it’s a fuckin space ship, it’s got its own turbines and rocket thrusters and everything!”
>Dan’s excitement begins to build as he describes the car you all are going to collect.
>”It doesn’t even look like it’s damaged at all really, slick black coat of paint with a cobalt blue section on the hood and a big red circular turbine feeding the engine. It’s pretty rad.”
“If it’s not damaged why not just try and drive it back to the garage?”
>You ask, interrupting Dan’s fantasies about the sick set of wheels you’re going to collect.
>”Simple, I couldn’t get in. The glass is bullet proof or something.”
>You stop for a second confused.
“Wait, so if you couldn’t get in before, what’s changed now?”
>”Simple stretch, you’re what ‘s changed.”
>Dan says as he turns and points at you over his shoulder.
>”Or more specifically, you and that keyblade.”
>That wasn’t a particularly helpful explanation, is he expecting you to use it as a slim jim or something?
“I’m still not following here.”
>You reply hoping to coax more information out of Dan.
>”Ughh this is day one stuff here man, the keyblade is supposedly capable of opening any lock.”
“This IS day one here for me Dan. What else do you know about this thing that I don’t?
>Dan rubs his scraggly goatee for a minute as he mumbles to himself.
>”already mentioned the keyblade war… just did locks… only way to defeat the heartless for good. OH, apparently the keyblade is capable of opening the way to other worlds whatever that means.”
>Dan says as he plops his fist down into his palm in a little ah ha motion.
>As you go to open your mouth and ask why the hell we didn’t just do that in the first place Dan cuts you off.
>”Didn’t mention it because I have no idea how it’s done and figured if you did you wouldn’t even be on this shitheap.”

>”I think that’s just about all I got on the keyblade specifically.”
>Dan shrugs as the three of you draw closer to a light at the end of this shadowy rusted labyrinth.
“Fair enough.”
>you say begrudgingly, frustrated that your only guide to the larger world doesn’t know much more about it than you do.
“So anything we need to know about this Car we’re going to get? Anything dangerous guarding it like Axiom security?”
>You ask turning your focus back to the task at hand.
>”Nothing beyond normal heartless bullshit, and we may not even run into those fucks.”
>Dan says rubbing his hands together gleefully.
>”It’s literally sitting there waiting for us to take it!”
>Dan laughs as you exit the stacks and rejoin a clear path heading off to the east.
>”But why take my word for it when you can see for yourselves; behold, our new ride!”
>Dan waves his arm like a magician revealing his hidden assistant as the three of you round the corner.
>Only to discover an empty clearing as Dan stands there eyes closed with a smug grin on his face as his arms frame a car that isn’t there.
>”Uh what ride Dan?”
“Yeah are you sure this is the right place?”
>You ask as you walk past Dan and look around the clearing checking for signs of this supposed supercar.
>”WHAT!”
>Dan’s eyes snap open as he wheels around on the clearing finding it to be exactly as vacant as you describe.
>”But it was right here!”
>You follow Dan as he runs over to the edge of the clearing.
>Once there you discover depressions where clearly a car once set along with scrapes and gouges in the surrounding scrap.

>Dan did say all the best stuff seems to end up at the crane, now you know why.
“Looks like the heartless got hold of it.”
You say as Dan seethes with rage.
>”HEARTLEEEEEEEEESS!”
>The manlet bellows, silhouetted by the slowly setting sun as he throws his fists skyward.
>Suddenly a loud crashing noise interrupts Dan’s incoherent shouting.
>When you turn to see the source of the noise, you see something incredible.
>There, cape flapping in the breeze as it stands in a perfect three point landing, is what appears to be an honest to god super hero.
>But as you examine the motionless figure something seems off, the vibrant blue and red suit seems to hang off of his body as though the individual inside had withered away down to nothing.
>You cautiously start to approach the figure as spike bounces up and down excitedly stammering about how it’s a real life super hero.
“You okay there guy?”
>As you ask your question the figure slowly stands revealing on its chest a familiar red and black crest.
“Ohhh shit.”
>Spike goes quiet as you jump back summoning your keyblade in a flash of light.
>The heartless stands, the single spit curl antenna sticking up from behind its simple cloth strip of a mask bouncing as it looks at you from behind a pair of spiraling eye holes cut in the fabric.
>It’s gaunt lantern jaw tightens as those sunken spirals flash yellow and a squad of shadows rise up from the trash accompanied by a pair of soldiers popping into existence.
“You just had to go and speak of the devil didn’t you Dan?”
>You groan as the three of you fall into a formation against the advancing horde.
>Dan, meanwhile, isn’t listening as he pulls his wrench with a grin.

Ultima weapon tends to be pretty visually similar from game to game so probably pretty close to kh1's ultima weapon with our wayfinder's question mark worked in. Maybe a pale green to white gradient on the color with gold accents and filigree.

That said it's probably a little early for an ultima weapon. Seeing it now would almost feel like a spoiler imo.

That said what I'd like to see in the way of trinket sort of items is Otto's core.

>>
>>29552048
No, we've tried to think how magic mines could work, and talked about timebombs (put any element on an enemy or ally with immunity to that element (ring of fire, frost, bolf of lighting) and it "detonates" later while bad guy in crowd) if I remember right. Still trying to collect all spells and mixes of spells ideas mentioned in threads

Not without some decent resistances or world-specific teammates.

I doubt any pony teammate is immune to Ice or Thunder.
>>
>>29553026
We could get around it by learning Reflect, if that's a spell in this game. Just cast Reflect on them and (assuming it lasts 'til next turn) drop a Firaga on them afterwards. Doesn't confer elements if it works as it does in KH2, but I'm sure with a little spellcrafting we could modify it to do elemental damage.

Here's our map for the fight. initiative order I think we'll be waiting till the after the first round to reveal that.

On the note of initiative. would you all find it more fun to roll initiative each turn for a random order each round or do you prefer it the way it is now with a static order set at the start of the battle?
>>
>>29554708

>heart shaped

heh.

If we do a called thunderbolt away from us, does it become single target or can we still get AoE damage?
>>

You get a little more damage and a cost reduction out of a single target thunder but you can't drop aoe at a distance.

that said things change when we get up to thundara and thundaga
>>
>>29554708

The fact that the smaller heartless are surrounding the big one makes me nervous

Since this is the last fight of the day, you guys think we could get fancy?

Have anon move two squares forward and drop off a Thunder

Spike moves two squares top-left and then uses his lance charge to hopefully fuck up all three lined up shadows

Dan charges forward after him and try to get his wrench on the soldier's ass

As for initiative, while it sounds interesting to have a new one each turn it feels like it also kinda complicates some things on your end Yen, would that slow down the fights?
>>
>>29555073
>>29554708

Wait, I'm retarded. The middle heartless isn't lined up with the other two, it's a square off. Shit.

Anyone wanna get on a defensive stance until the heartless converge on a better position?
>>
>>29555085
It'd give us a chance to see what Fallen Hero will do, but understand that those Shadows have a high chance of sinking in the first turn, and it might be wise to take at least one of them out this turn.

>>29554708
Let's stick to what we've been doing for the past battles in terms of initiative. That's worked well enough.
>>
>>29555073
I don't think variable initiative would really slow me down. My chief concern is hindering your ability to strategize.
>>
>>29555418
>>29555234
>>29555073

speaking of variable initiative what ever happened to that stance combat system? it seems like we've just kind of abandoned it in favor of full control at all times.
>>
>>29555996
It's still there, and we can do that if we want as far as I can tell. We've used it for the Shattered Mirror and Cinder Wolf fights, but not too terribly recent.

Perhaps full control became more popular due to the maps?
>>
>>29556089
I honestly think it's mostly because the more granular full control is just more engaging
>>
I'm not sure about a consensus here, it looks like you all are after advancng to lay down some thunder while spike gets into position for the most damaging rocket charge he can? while Dan smacks a soldier with the wrench.

Is it finally time for that double lariat I said we should do three threads ago?
>>
>>29557033
So the Cyclops attack dealt 10 damage to Anon and Dan. Fucking yikes.

Since we're gonna rest, I see no reason to be anything but liberal with our Thunder use. Spike should make his way behind the Fallen Hero for a flank atack. Dan should either finish off the Soldiers we potentially miss, or make some distance between us, since that laser's dynamite.
>>
>>29557033
Hmm. First, I have to wonder what the rules are for him gaining charges of his laser eyes: it definitely seems to be a retribution thing, but is it only for shadows or soldiers as well? Maybe the soldiers do something else, like buff his strength? Also, he only has two eyes, can he have more than two charges built up? This could be a crazy fight if we're not careful.

First, since we didn't think to last round, let's get the lay of the land with an investigation check. The real question though is whether we want to risk attacks of opportunity leaving the Soldiers to go smack down the Hero, or whether we destroy the soldiers and risk what happens as a result of that. I think we along with Spike should focus down the Hero while Dan weakens the Soldier that's at about half, and hope we can combo it out of existence before the Shadows pop up again.

We're actually in a good position for it, so I'm totally down for >>29557469. But, y'know, with swords. Might as well add some lightning damage to it too, we've certainly got the MP to spare. Is that still a double lariat?
>>
Fallen Hero has a cape. We could do a "no capes" moment and snag it for a while. We might even be able to swing it into things.
>>
>>29558346
Pin it's cape with our keyblade, then have spike charge it
>>
That hero is clearly getting stronger/madder as we beat the weaker shadows

Dan should taunt the soldiers and keep them busy while anon and spike go to town on his ass

have anon do a single target thunderbolt and then Spike can do a fire breath, just wail everything on the fucker. If he can set fire to his cape even better

We actually don't know how strong he is, I'm kind of running with the theory that the Soldiers are going to buff his physical strength while the Shadows give him laser eye powers. But yeah, let's pin him with the cape and give Spike a good shot at full damage; maybe knock his knees out and then pin the cape under our foot?

I'd think pinning it with the keyblade would be better than a foot.

Whenever we finish something with an explosion spell, just say "Nice." as it goes. exactly like in the megas xlr theme.
>>
All this talk about catchphrases makes me wonder if we should also think up of some general ones to say whenever we do something cool or non elemental/high level magic.

I recall that Sora shouting "LIGHT!" and "GIVE ME STRENGTH" and then proceeding to go into a drive form or using a flashy combo finisher like pic related was weirdly hype, like he was literally tapping into the raw force of light to fuck shit up like Ansem and Riku did with DARKNESS

Don't forget that we picked JUSTICE as one of our answers at the beginning, so a phrase with that could be cool, too.

“Get ready to rush him again spike, I’ll pin him down!”
>As you dart away to put your plan into action one of the soldiers tries to take a swipe at you.
>The swipe goes so wide that the heartless careens off balance and slashes its partner trying to right itself.
>You, meanwhile, are too busy staking the fallen hero’s with the keyblade to notice the whole exchange.
>Likewise, you’re too busy shouting for spike to torch the fool to notice the two soldiers rushing you from behind.
>Dan takes a swing at the fleeing soldier trying to occupy its attention, but the wrench goes wide and the two charge at you unimpeded.
>Both soldiers miss you entirely but the real problem is the second soldier that sails by you with a missed kick landing directly into Spike’s path just as the little dragon twists the throttle on his lance.
>It’s too late to stop him now, maybe you’ll get lucky, maybe spike will miss the weakened soldier, you think as the lance’s twisted tip tears at the imitation hero.
>Those hopes are completely dashed when spike crashes downward and impales the soldier with his lance just before the thrusters sputter out as they exhaust the last of Spike’s mana.
“That’s fucking brutal.”
>You say in disbelief as the soldier thrashes around for a second before finally disintegrating releasing a soft red light into the air.

>You try and spin away from the blow but it’s too fast to avoid and the heartless’ fist crashes into you.
>Your world is spinning around you as the blow sends you tumbling through the air, and you can’t help but think it’s a good thing that you were always the 90 pound weakling back home.
>If you had offered more resistance that blow might have just torn you apart instead of sending you flying.

As Dan, do you think we could see any old mattresses, loose house insulation, something that might break Anon's fall and direct him to it.

On the other hand if that doesn't work, I think Anon might have an idea just about as bright as these previous ones. Freefall right towards the Fallen Hero, grab his cape, and use that swing around and cancel our momentum / direct it onto him. Thus we should be able to fall safely and throw the fallen hero off balance with the equivalent force of an autist turning him 120 mph. It would be stupid and dangerous (in fact if we have any inspiration, I would suggest using it to make sure we don't fail whatever roll necessary to grab the Fallen Hero's cape).

Yip. It's up for our ball of stress to come up with genius ideas, solo. And for Anon to spam Triangle like a maniac and search for safe landing tho landing at unprepared Hero could probably damage him more than us
>>
>>29565209
I was thinking we summon the keyblade and use it to raido za lightning. Use a thunder spell to do something like a dragoon jump and use the muscular body of the heartless to absorb the impact of our fall.

Either that or have dan run up and take the lance from spike and launch it straight upwards where Anon catches it on his way down and uses it as a retro rocket gypsy danger style and burns the fuck out of the hero with the backwash.
>>
>>29565209
I do like the idea of using our fall damage against the Heartless, though if we can find a way to hedge our bets so that it's not just mutually assured destruction, that'd be cool too. Is there anything we can use as a retro-boost, like >>29565856 said? I'd be fine throwing away most of the mana we have left if it meant we didn't become a pancake on impact.

If retro video games have taught me anything, we can wait until we're five feet off the ground and then cast Thunder, which will safely and without consequence eliminate all of our momentum.

Fallen Hero vs Falling Hero
Round 2
FIGHT!

Unfortunately we're at the start of the game, otherwise I'd suggest we try something a la pic related. I guess as long as Anon lands the blow on the Heartless, Dan could try and cushion the blow with his own body; a quick investigation for something else (that's not Spike) would be better though if Dan can manage it.

>>29568274
I think they're saying kick the booster on with a foot or something, and hang on to the cone part rather than the handle. All the flames shoot behind the cone to propel it. Though maybe we could try just a constant stream of Thunder at the ground? Does it exert a force when it leaves the keyblade? I mean, if we could throw the keyblade and have it ricochet back to us a few times, that might work too, but as it stands we don't have much that we can use from Anon's perspective, other than the potion to heal up,and I'm not sure that's enough. Dan saving the day is probably the more likely option.
>>
>>29567573
What does Dan see that could help?
>>
I think that the lance maneveur is a little too risky/complex.

If we climb atop our keyblade to deliver the blow, we can transfer most of the impact to the blade and into whatever we land, as long as we have the right inclination

We know that there is no way we can actually break the damn thing unless our fall hits harder than the attack of a titan or Sephirot, so it's safer and it should deliver a huge damage bomb if only we can land it

If we manage it, we should make it a maneveur

>>
>>29571439
How would we do that right now without potentially healing the Hero as well?
>>
I should point out that Dan does see some insulation and a mattress, I haven't mentioned it till now because you guys seem pretty into some kind of giga impact.

>>29568377
You asked about thunder recoil. not in any of the methods you know now. you could make an arcana check to try and develop some kind spell on the fly to slow you down. A static burst cone that has recoil or something.
>>
>>29571478
I think the giga impact is our first plan, but it wouldn't hurt for Dan to move the matress close by to hopefully act as our last resort.
>>
>>29571450
A potion is more like magic trapped in a bottle than an actual liquid. it's not going to splash all over the heartless or anything like that when the bottle breaks open if that's what you were worried about.

If it would completely negate, then fuck it, hang 10 on that keyblade straight through Punisher's ugly face.

And if we kill him, inform our teammates that we figured out his one true weakness: "Point-blank annihilation."

Your current analytical fighter gives you 1/4 of your intellect bonus rounded up to attack and damage on melee attacks. this upgrades it to one half rounded up.

A plus 2 to any one stat will raise its modifier by one point.

Analytical Fighter for Anon, so as to incentivize actually hitting things with the keyblade; we want to have a little bite in case we run up on something that resists magic (or just when we're low on MP).

Cleave for Spike sounds good, am I right in figuring that we're capped at hitting two enemies per turn with it?

>>29572897
Do most sources of healing work off of INT? Or are there some that benefit from other stats like CHA or DEX? If Intelligence is "the healing stat", I probably agree; otherwise, I wouldn't mind boosting his CON, so he gains more health per level (and, y'know, can generally avoid dying).

Anon I'd be fine giving more INT or CHA to. Unfortunately splitting them once we've got an even number of points in an ability doesn't make too much sense, since we only get the actual bonus increase every other point. I'd advocate for CHA just because we seem to be pretty good at that whole "talking people down" thing.

>>29572673
...No-Face. Technically Ghibli is produced by Disney, I'd love to see No-Face flinging gold at enemies and eating ones that are weak enough.
Merida sniping enemies from the shadows would be awesome too.
Maybe Fix-It Felix as our healing summon, where he's running around the battlefield bashing us Oldboy-style with his hammer to keep us in fighting shape.
>>
>>29573028
you'll see these abilities again but not necessarily next level.
>>
>>29573117
While spike's own self healing for potions do run off of int, that detriment doesn't apply to others using potions or cure spells on him. Plus there may be other self healing items that run off of other stats besides int. you'll have to keep an eye out for them. As for the Con choice not only does he gain more health per level, he also gains an additional hit point for each of his previous levels. Con applies retroactively. Plus a bump to your Con also improves spike's fire breath damage.

You are correct that spike is capped at one additional enemy off of cleave. at least until he gets greater cleave

Movie counts as disney property, and shorts-sequels (like "Tummy Trouble") done both by Disney and Amblin studio (that Disney bought with movie idea). But many people and studios worked on it, and Disney and WB by agreement had exactly the same amount of characters they own and same screentime for all of them, so I'm not really sure that Roger himself and other "main" characters are 100% Disney property by that logic. I mean, they even had to create looking similarly to Roger Bonker for "Bonker" cartoon series due to Amblin (which, again, Disney owned at that period) saying "Nope, don't overuse them". Also there's Gary that wrote a book about Roger in the first place... Who even owns Roger Rabbit?
>>
>>29574378
Tarzan is barely Disney enough to be in kingdom hearts 1 and they've never been able to use him in any subsequent games thanks to claims by the estate of Edgar Rice Burroughs. I'd say Roger Rabbit is more Disney property than Tarzan is, ergo his summon gem is absolutely something you might find.

>>
Yes please, also what would have happened if we attacked AUTO or forcibly removed him from his perch?
>>
>>29574937
If nothing else, we got that sweet, sweet experience. I'm betting we might find some tasty extras for the ship though, too; we're gonna have this thing Xzibit levels of pimped by the time we launch. I'll be honest, I was almost hoping we'd find a villain car like the Panther De Ville for the body, just to complete the unintentionally evil-as-fuck ship.
>>
>>29575056
The fallen hero could be powered up in one of two ways. When natural heartless die it gains a superpower charge. When activated it rolls a d10 and uses a random superpower. You all got hit with Laser vision. When it absorbs the heart from an emblem heartless on the other hand it gains All for One for one turn per heart.

As for AUTO he was meant to serve as a turn counter for your survival map. He was supposed to loose 10hp per turn before his power failed for good. He was also losing HP for each heartless you killed. 1 per shadow 2 per soldier 5 per EVE. As for just attacking AUTO and ignoring the heartless, AUTO was supposed to summon the second wave at 25 hp. So he would have dropped another 10 or so heartless on you and then died unable to force the survivors to self destruct. Just yanking him out and trying to steal him would have resulted in a dead Otto. You'd have still gotten the nav systems but no nav AI.

I can't belive no one else has picked up on the true nature of our power system. This is a reference hidden in a reference. Yen saying that our boat does (not) run on happy faces is a reference to kh1, but in giving us a scream powered ship that means that with laughter being more powerful than screams we secretly have a boat that literally runs on happy faces.

I just like the idea that all the stuff Dan crafts is by default horrifying in some way. "Here's a lance, it sets the user on fire when used as intended." "Here's a water purifier, it uses charcoal I made from burning these tapestries I found in a museum." "Look, it's a car! Sure it runs on frightened children and the last owner was trying to turn puppies into a coat, but it handles great!" I figure it's in line with the character that melted his best friend's family antique into an arrowhead and fired it from a bow he stole from an Indian burial ground. But I do definitely like that we can power our ship off of enjoying the hell out of a roadtrip with our dragonbro and the embodiment of petty vengeance, too.

Dan is already strong in close combat, even if no mp and low health, so something that will compensate last two things could be useful. Something that can take out far away enemies (which will be useful vs flying enemies and such, no one can't into toony air combo's yet), probably made from eve's blasters, or something that will make them hit us and\or take turns less frequently, like stun-bombs >>29580683 suggested
>>
>>29580328
I was thinking of guns, but then there was the question of ammo. But something like the rock-it launcher or junk-jet from Fallout would fix that problem.
>>
>>29581007
I really like this idea. If he bothers to prep ahead and collect a bunch of small stuff into a container, it'd shoot out as a cone, shotgun style; otherwise, anything becomes a cannonball with enough pressure behind it.

Flashbangs/ stun grenades are absolutely something we can do. We can also do the junk cannon but that's going to take Dan the rest of the evening to build. So here is my question to you. Do you want Dan to focus on the large project that is the junk cannon or would you rather he make a few flash bangs and still have time to finish the item for the wolf's tear.

>>29580722
Cannibalizing the eve's blasters for some kind of limited use blaster rifle is something I'd let you do but you all don't have any of those on hand.

Flashbangs and telescope, let's go.

Wait, so if Dan spends a lot of time tinkering with the big gun couldn't we use that time to learn a new spell?

Fuck, maybe if we just take a day off to fully prepare we can go there with two new spells and dan gets both flashbangs and a scrap cannon
>>
>>29583931
we did a lot of work clearing out heartless today. I'd be concerned that if we took a whole day off tomorrow to research spells and whatnot that we'd lose whatever low heartless population advantage we've gained.
>>
>>29583990

What about using up the night and the next morning like >>29576471 said then?

I feel like we could really use another option aside just the bullwark and thunder, and we do have ruby cufflinks to upgrade our fire spells
>>
>>29584019
I think using the morning to prepare would probably be fine.
>>
>>29584019
I don't think it's an unreasonable expectation that we could finish Bulwark and also get another spell in before bed, we did get part way through it the first time after all. I'd say finish Bulwark and then maybe learn Fire next, but Shroud would be cool too.
>>
Okay so we'll be having dan build some flashbangs and work on the wolf's tear tonight while you all pick up a new element and continue studying on the bulwark formula.

Are you all cool with working on fire tonight and do you want to try and study some more in the morning before heading off to the crane?
>>
>>29584144

Bulwark first, we need some defense badly. Also we are supposed to have already started on it so better finish up, or was that just fluff and we didn't actually make any progress?
>>
>>29584197
You did actually make progress. It's just that the spellcraft sections require multiple sittings to get through whereas the basic elements you can get through in one chunk.
>>
>>29584264

Wait, really? Well, this is new, can we know how many sittings or is that better as a behind the scenes thing?

That said that changes things, I guess Fire does take priority now since we can get it imediately. Use the morning to get further on bulwark, then.
>>
>>29584264
Could we finish Bulwark and fire simultaneously then.

If not, Bulwark takes priority imo.
>>
>>29584305
>>29584369
Between tonight and tomorrow morning you'll be able to learn fire and finish bulwark. As for how long each individual spellcraft formula is going to take to learn, Im afraid that information is going to have to stay under wraps for now
>>
>>29584590

Baller. Let's do that, then.

We need to chat up Dan a little more though, maybe try to see if there is some positivity we can find. I mean, we get to drive a sick car through the depths of space, maybe that'll bring a smile to his face.

“I’m not gonna lie, that was totally sick little man.”

> “Throw me one of those tapes I’ve been dying to try this thing out for months.”
>Dan says as goes over to his work table and pulls a mish-mashed jumble of parts out from under the table and thumps it down on the rough wooden surface.
>Upon closer inspection Dan’s device appears to be a car stereo hooked up to a battery and a couple of loose speakers.
>You reach into the box and throw Dan a random tape.

“Sorry it didn’t work da-“

>He says as he gets to work cutting the leather into the shape he needs.
>You shoot him a thumbs up as you get into the section of twilight’s notes covering fire magic.
>”I’ve got a fever of a hundred and three”
>You can hear the stereo playing away in the background as you read about how fire magic can be fueled by most kinds of spiritual or emotional warmth and due to this wide variety of sources it’s typically the easiest element for novice mages to get a handle on. Twilight goes on to say that while the spell is simple to learn it’s less accessible than the other two basic elements and that she has yet to discover any means for a non-unicorn to cast it unlike Thunder and Ice magic.
>Twilight also mentions that while uncontrolled fire magic tends to burst out of the magical conduit used to summon it and whirl around its caster before flickering out, it is particularly easy to channel and direct that magic where you need it to go.
>Twilight concludes that thanks to this malleable nature fire magic is particularly easy to shape using the formulae that she’s been developing.
>The sound of static breaks your concentration as the tape ends and you look up over Twilight’s notes to see spike sitting on the floor looking up at you.
“Oh hey buddy I didn’t see you there. Why didn’t you say something?”

>Spike says looking away from you not sure how to proceed.
>”Do you think Twilight’s doing okay?”
>He says in a quiet tone not quite able to look you in the eye.
>You get the distinct impression he doesn’t want to let on just how worried about her he is but the fear shines through anyway.
“I’m sure Twilight has already met someone who can help her, I mean we wound up in the literal middle of nowhere and still managed to meet Dan.”
>You say, as you try to reassure the little dragon that his adoptive sister is okay.
>Spike nods but he still seems less than convinced.
”Plus I practically tripped over you inside of a day from being separated, I’m sure that we’ll find Twilight and the others just as easily once we get off The Heap.”
>You can see the gears turning in Spike’s head as you continue with you optimistic line of logic.
“Plus Twilight’s way more competent than the three of us combined.”
>Gesturing to Dan, Spike and finally back to yourself.
“I’m sure she’s already found a way off whatever world she’s found herself on and is already out looking for us as we speak.”
>Spike thinks about it for a moment before he finally responds.
>”Yeah if anyone can figure this out it would be Twilight.”
>He says with a grin, visibly calmer after your pep talk.
“So now that we’ve concluded Twilight’s probably okay, how are you doing with all this Spike? This is more or less your first time out on your own right?”
>Spike goes to throw out a stock answer but stops himself.
>Finally after taking a few seconds to think it over he replies.
>”It was scary at first when I was trapped here on my own but after I met Dan and you showed up the truth is that I’ve been having fun going out fighting monsters and trying to figure out how to escape with you guys.”

>He says with a confused look on his face as he looks to you for some sign of understanding.
>”Like, I keep remembering how scared I was when I first got here, and then I keep thinking of everyone else and how they must feel trapped out there on their own, and then I feel bad for being on an adventure having a good time.”
>Spike says breaking into a little rant trying to make himself understood.
>You nod understandingly as you put a hand on the dragon’s shoulder calming him down.
“I know what you mean buddy, and don’t feel bad. We’re doing everything we can to get out and find them so don’t feel guilty about enjoying yourself a little on the way. You gotta take the good times where you can find them.
>You say as you wave a hand around the rundown garage.
“Even if they’re in a dump like this.”
>”Especially if they’re in a dump like this.”
>Dan shouts across the room as he sits up and walks over to the two of you.
>”Hate to interrupt the heart-warming pep talk but I’m done with your gem.”
>Dan tosses what looks like an eye patch into your lap.
>Although, as you pull it on over your eye you vision snaps out of focus as you suddenly have a one eyed close-up of the far corner of the room.
>”That ought to let you pick off heartless up to about a 300 yards, provided you can work out how to cast magic at that kind of range.”
>Dan says as he wipes some kind of grime off his hands.
>”Now if you’ll excuse me I have some surplus parts from the Axiom just begging to be made into flashbangs.”
>Dan says with a maniacal grin as he turns and walks back over to the stereo and pops in a cassette before getting back to work.
>”Some folks are born maaaade to wave the flag”
>Echoes out into the night as Dan begins work on his new toys.
>Meanwhile you pull off your new scope and turn back to Spike only to find the little dragon suppressing a yawn as he struggles to stay awake.
>>
>>29586836
“I think someone probably ought to hit the sack.”
>You say as spike tries to protest.
>”But I want to hear more music.”
>He begs pitifully, but you’re not going to cave.
“We need you at the top of your game if we’re getting off this dump, and besides, Twilight would kill me if she found out I wasn’t making sure you took care of yourself.”
>You say as you usher him out of the room.
>”Ughhh fine, I’ll see you in the morning Anon.”
>The dragon huffs before breaking into a yawn as he walks down the room to his storage closet.
>You nod approvingly before returning to your seat where you crack open twilight’s book and pick up where you left off the night before on Bulwark constructs.
>As interesting as it is reading about the rigid thaumaturgical structures that twist raw elemental magic into usable forms that allow one to, in this case, absorb the impact of physical object, your mind can’t help but wander.
>Dispite what you told spike, now that you aren’t fighting for your life and you have time to think again, your mind begins to dwell on the fate of the others.
>Applejack and Rainbow Dash can probably take care of themselves when it comes to the heartless, but what about Fluttershy?
>She might not even be able to ask for help, much less protect herself.
>You tell yourself that hopefully after interacting with you she’ll at least be able to talk to humans if she needs to.
>Maybe she’s with one of the other girls right now and you’re worrying over nothing.
>But that thought doesn’t really make you feel any better.
>What about Rarity though? She did okay with the diamond dogs but you doubt the heartless are going to be so susceptible to her whining.
>And for all you said about Twilight being competent she’s just as likely to have a complete meltdown and shut down completely as she is to spring into action and start working towards a solution.

>At least Pinkie’s probably doing alright, that mare can make friends with anyone.
>You think as you absentmindedly rub the engraving on your pocket watch.
>You pull it out of your pocket and pop it open, taking a deep breath as you gaze at the pink gem set in the cover.
>Sitting here worrying isn’t going to do anything to help them, you think to yourself as you try and push the fear out of your mind.
“All I need to do is focus on finding them.”
>You tell yourself, closing your eyes as you exhale.
>You pop the watch shut and open your eyes.
>There’s no way I’m going to be able to focus on this tonight, might as well finish up in the morning before we head out. You think to yourself as you pick up Twilight’s spell book and turn to head down the hall to your own supply closet.
“I’m turning in for the night Dan, see ya tomorrow.”
>You turn and call over your shoulder to the angry little man.
>”Suit yourself stretch I have more explosives to make.”
>You can practically hear his grin as he works on his flash bangs before you make your way to your room.
>You set your belongings on a conveniently placed shelf after hanging your suit on a hook on the back of the door.
>Just one more day, you think to yourself before drifting off to sleep.
>As you snore away on the cot the watch trembles slightly and for a moment a rose colored glimmer of light peaks out through the its latch before it quietly fades away.

Yeeeeeah, our little man is getting a lesson in funk and rock and shit! We're going to fucking blast some tunes on our way off this rock, I hope. And jam out in the meantime, as appropriate.

>the watch is a spy
Whatever happened to our new solid eye being a spy?

Are you sure you aren't jumping at shadows thanks to Chi back cover and pic related?
>>
>>29588169
Everything's an eye, man. But more seriously, it could be that our new magic capacity is reacting with the watch's gem.
>>
>>29588219
That's about what I was thinking tbqh senpai. Now that we've unlocked our capacity to generate and put out mana the gem is recharging off our stray energy. Or something like that.
>>
My question is, with this, we will have access to both Fire and Thunder Bulwark, what would be the difference between them. Also, if we expend enough MP, can we basically plasma snipe Heartless? Shoot a long, thin bolt of lightning, similar to the precision bolts from InFamous.
>>
>>29588283
The difference between bulwarks is that they essentially grant type resistances in addition to strate damage mitigation. for example a fire bulwark will stop twice as much Fire damage as it would normal physical but only half as much ice damage.

As for sniping at extreme range you can do it with all the elements you unlock but sniper fire is going to function as a form of spell craft. Right now you can only get about a +2 out of the Wolf's Eye Scope. With the snipe spellcraft you can get up to a +5 modifier.

you might so find normal weapons that make use of the scope.
>>

>>
>>29588283
>>29588460
At higher levels, Fira and Firaga ect the elements have additional effects when combined with a spellcrafting frame
>>
>>29588663
Was Thunderfall a catchy thing to say, or is that a new spell thing we can do?
>>
>>29588949
Technically it's a maneuver you can do now. Good luck getting high enough to use it again though.
>>
>>29589144
>implying we won't have teammates who can fly/throw us into the air

Never underestimate our ability to get 70 feet into the air.
>>
>>29589144
>>29589274
Literally 10 seconds after we master the Gravity spell, you can bet we'll be spellcrafting a moon jump so we can Thunderfall all day e'ry day. Or, for that matter, making enemies weightless so we can Galactic Kick them into fucking orbit.

>>29588460
So Bulwarks are temporary HP buffers if we have them pointed in the right direction? Neato. I guess Shrouds are going to be essentially AC boosts plus some auto-damage against the attacking party, then. Makes sense; I'm getting really hyped for spellcraft once we've done all of our homework.
>>
>>29589447
I'm not going to make you manage the directionality on your Bulwark. It sound like tedious busy work. Shrouds do grant minor Ac boosts but their real draw is damage against attackers that make physical contact.
>>
>>29589987
Coolio. I was more thinking along the lines that Bulwark would be one of those things that we couldn't apply if we were, say, flatfooted due to being ambushed. Passive vs. active blocking, and all that. I do agree that spending every turn saying "oh I point the shield to the West" would get obnoxious fast.
>>
>>29590262
You're probably looking at a percentage chance of the bulwark catching the attack in case of ambush.

Or maybe something like this for a more classic look.
>>
>>29590373
You might've answered this already, but is Dan a permanent battle member or a temporary one?
>>
So once we learn the three elements can we do some fusing of them as well or is that limited to crafting spells?

Because if we could mix a bit of that thunder and fire/ice we could have AoE versions of all three elements
>>
>>29590691
I think this KH1 cover pic would be cool to emulate, personally. The fact that a couple of our cast members can fly would help the composition, I'd think, too.
>>
>>29590650
>>29590691
>>29591674
That would be a great thing to have for future thread headers.

>>29591475
I'm not sure if I want to gate elemental fusion behind the first three elements or spellcrafting. I think spellcrafting probably makes more sense from a mechanical/ balance perspective.
>>
How does spell crafting work? Do we take a gamble on mixing and experimenting? Or is it like idea crafting where if we have a decent enough image of what we want and can somewhat explain how it works?
>>
>>29592271
more the latter. One you have an idea anon just needs to invest in game time on research then you have your new toy.
>>
>>29592306
So, not counting Blade, Bulwark, and Shroud, we've got:

>Ring
>Homing
>Mine
>Chain
>Bomb
>Snipe
>Jump (Gravity)

And if we can get away with using Bravely Second spellcrafting, we can also do:

>Mist (Spell effects over time)
>Rain (Random targets)

I'd also suggest Nova, but friendly fire makes that shit not worth it, imo.
>>
>>29590650
>>29590691
I'll ask Yen later for plot important characters, locations and weapons for cover trying to finish everything simultaneously and only one not thread related clop-pic is fully done. Gotta draw fast

>>29592426

>>
>>29593226

>>
>>29593288
Your watch and green question mark mask don't take up item slots. that said your new solid eye does. Although that's a little more powerful than your other accessories so i'm debating giving you a separate magic item slot for more powerful items or including things like the solid eye as a part of a separate system.
>>
>>29593358

>You groggily pull yourself out of your cot the next morning and pull your suit, which somehow you’ve managed not to tear despite being dick punched into orbit the day before.
>You shamble down the hall into the former convenience store section of the station and discover spike scooping the contents of a red and green can into his mouth.
>Before you get a chance to ask the little dragon what’s on the menu Dan shuffles up behind you and grabs another can off of one of the shelves.
>”Ravioli ravioli, give me the death I deservioli.”
>He grumbles to himself as he rips the tab off of the can and begins slurping up the ravioli with a look of unfettered disgust.
>As you go to check the shelves you find that they’re stocked solely with Grandpa Ardee’s Good Time Ravioli.
“So I assume this is how…”
>You trail off pointing at the cans as you look to Dan for confirmation.
>Dan just looks off into the middle distance with a thousand mile stare.
>”If I ever see another can of ravioli it’ll be too soon.”
>He says before throwing the empty can at the wall where it clatters to the ground into a pile of its fellow discarded cans.
“So I guess we’re hitting the crane today right?”
>You ask as you grab your own can and the two of you follow Dan back into the garage.
>”That’s the plan, but if we’re going that way I want to be loaded for bear.”
>He says as he steps up to his work bench which is strewn with parts surrounding a long cylindrical barrel.
>”So you two do whatever you think you need to do to get ready, I’m going to finish construction on this.”
>Dan says as he pulls a tool box out from under the table and starts rummaging through it.

>And once again your procrastination has failed to bite you in the ass as Dan’s delay gives you just enough time to finish up the section on bulwarks in Twilight’s notes.
>You take your seat on the crate and crack open the journal as Spike starts digging through the box of cassettes trying to take stock of your new music library.
>It takes an hour or so but you finally reach the end of the notes on the methodology for forming a bulwark and you feel confident that you could create one on the fly if need be.
>You’re about to call spike over to test out the durability of your new spellcraft but a warning note at the back of the passage catches your eye.
>”Take care that you don’t try to use a bulwark to defend against an element your construct is weak against, otherwise you may find yourself on the wrong end of an icicle spear when your shield breaks prematurely.”
>Twilight goes on to warn you about the limits of the spell’s defensive capacity.
>”Also be sure to keep track of threats, the bulwark will reposition itself to intercept most forms of harm headed your way but only as long as the caster is aware of them. If whatever it is manages to catch you by surprise the bulwark most likely won’t be able to repel the attack.”
>You file the information away for further use, but just as you’re about to flip back to the front of the book and begin studying up on ice magic spike pops up over the top of the journal.
>”Hey Anon, I found something weird come check it out.”
>The little dragon says as you set the book back down on your crate and follow him back over to the worn cardboard box full of cassettes.
“So whatcha got? Another weird album title?”

>He shouts popping out of the box holding a cassette case that’s bulging in the center as though it had been forced shut around some kind of ball or marble.
>”It’s weird, I had found it at the bottom of the box but I left it on top of the pile when I went to get you.”
>He says as he scratches his head.
>”I have no idea how it got back to the bottom like that.”

>”Are you going to open it or not already.”
>Spike asks as you begin to slowly pry open the case and the anticipation starts getting to him
“Patience little man.”
>You say before finally opening the case and revealing a perfectly round pale yellow gem with a swirling atom in its center.
>”So what do you think it is?”
>Spike asks as he cranes his neck to get a better look at the gemstone.
”I have no clue.”
>You mutter as you go to hold it up to the light to get a better look at it.
>But as soon as you touch it you feel a surge of energy shoot through your body, like you had just eaten a nine volt battery.
>The sensation passes as quickly as it came and you shake your head, gem clutched in the palm of your hand as you try to recollect your thoughts.
“Maybe Dan will know something about it.”
>Spike nods in agreement as the two of you get up to go question your engineer.
>>

>”Just in time guys.”
>Dan says with a maniacal grin as he stands up from the table with a bandoleer of grenades slung over his shoulder carrying some kind of oversized low slung air cannon.
>”You boys ready to go get us a ship?”
>He asks as he props himself up leaning on his new cannon, still grinning ear to ear.
“Yeah, more or less.”
>You say noncommittally as you rub the back of your head.
“But before we go Spike and I wanted you to take a look at what we found in our box of tunes.”
>You hold out the gem for Dan to examine.
>Unfortunately he simply shrugs after giving it a quick once over.
>Beats me, maybe the original owner just stashed it there so it wouldn’t be stolen.
>As spike nods understandingly at Dan’s analysis it seems like whatever experience you had with the rush of energy and the swirling motion visible within the gem was unique to you.
“You may be right.”
>You say with a nod as you pocket the gem, resolving to have someone with more magical skill take a look at as soon as the opportunity arrises.
(Gained Voltglimmer gem!)
>”Now that that’s settled let’s get this show on the road.”
>Dan says as he hefts his scrap cannon in both hands and heads out into the heap.
>You and spike swiftly follow suit as the little dragon hefts his lance over his shoulder and the three of you set off for the crane.
>It isn’t long before you reach the bend in the path and you begin to notice the same rhythmic thump off in the distance that you heard the night before.
>But you also notice something new, a split in the path leading off in the direction of the crane that you missed in the failing light the evening before.
>”Okay guys from here on out be on your guard.”

>Spike asks as he pulls the haft of his lance closer to him, recoiling every time the mechanical crash echoes down the valley.
>”It’s nothing, just an old automated piece of junk.”
>Dan replies, and spike seems slightly reassured as the three of you round the corner into a clearing where the crane finally comes into view.
>The crane is slowly swinging by as it quietly goes about its business of dropping scrap onto a dilapidated old conveyer belt that creaks by overhead.
As the belt funnels into the mouth of a hydraulic crusher at the far end of the valley you can see the orange electromagnetic head at the end of the crane’s arm pick up something significantly larger, the blue and back car Dan had described to you the day before.
>”Awww fuck, so much for that one.”
>Dan groans, kicking a stray pile of junk as the vehicle falls onto the conveyer belt and within seconds is crushed into a compact steel cube.
>”Okay, not a big deal this place is loaded with decent bodies we can use. Now all we need to do is find one.”
>Dan says as he pinches the bridge of his nose and leads the three of you deeper into the junkyard in the shadow of the crane.

>”Yeah I guess all our running around yesterday either drew them away.”

>”But keep your eyes peeled. I never was able to figure out why they congregated here so there’s got to be something off about this place.”

Well then, clearly it's time.

When the magnet comes down again, let's jump on top of it and go to town on the wires hold it together, we can use our Fire spell to heat them up all at once and then hit with the keyblade to try and get them loose.

Too bad we didn't get Blizzard too, we could do a flash heat-freeze that'd surely finish the job quick.

Spike needs to get the fuck on stopping that conveyor belt, just fucking destroy it however he can, use his lance to fuck up the treadmill or see if i he can get the inner parts. I want to have Dan focus on the crusher but I'm not sure what he could do by himself to it, so let him help Spike
>>
>>29594261
Well I completely forgot that The Brave Little Toaster was a Disney film so I was quite plesantly surprised
>>
>>29594261
I was way more expecting a Cars or even a King Candy boss, honestly; I had forgotten that Brave Little Toaster even was a Disney film, I counted it in my head among all the "Don-Bluth-animated-but-not-actually-Disney" movies like All Dogs Go to Heaven and We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story.

I'm curious what hints there were, but I think right now I'm more curious what electricity is going to do to an electromagnet, fuck with it or just make it stronger... I think we might be very glad we studied another element last night. Personal preference is to take out the Crusher first, this feels like an Ornstein/Smough deal where you've got speed on one and power on the other, working together to wombo combo you.
>>
>>29594115
Shit. Don't suppose this be a time fight to try and defeat them before they crush all the cars?

Also, unless the crusher has legs, we might want to focus on the magnet aiming to crush us. Though I can't see the use of a scrap cannon against the Magnet, we could try to get the early drop with a fire attack. Everyone else should play defensively, since I think we'll be able to counterattack well after it attempts to crush us.

>>29594261
I didn't think of it, if only because I forgot the Brave Litte Toaster was Disney as well.
>>
>>29594115
I forget how electromagnets work, so if it won't electrocute us, wait until it comes down, jump on, and target the chain
>>
>>29595397
If I'm remembering physics correctly, an electromagnet is a shitload of wire in a coil that has electricity running through it, so things are pulled upwards through the center of the coil. So, from a normal physics standpoint it would need to be properly grounded and couldn't shock us unless going through our body was easier than going to ground as it was originally designed.

That said, this thing is a living-ish Heartless creature with the active intent to hurt us, so I wouldn't put much money on it being unable to zap the shit out of us if it wanted to. I'm sure we could give sniping the wires a shot with fire magic, but I don't think I want to get on Mr. Magnet's Wild Ride. Not yet anyway.

Obligatory investigation check, any control panels or other devices that seem to be connected to these things? Dan might be able to disable or at least slow down these guys if he has an interface to play with. I guess we'll focus the magnet, and Spike can try to get a swipe in with the lance? Or maybe he'd best dodge the magnet all together and aim for the crusher, since his lance is made of metal.

Just remembered I can do vectors. Also, done latin and cyrillics for the clone of in-game UI font (couldn't find the one Square/Disney used, so drew a similar one, no big deal).

Just an idea, could you try doing those world themed command menues like they had in kingdom hearts 2?
>>
>>29596152
Technically, they require far more work than these simple shapes, so probably not. Besides, we have unique worlds, so designing those from scratch would be too much. Sorry.
>>
>>29596191
No worries, they do look really complex
Keep up the good work though, and nice pic
>>
>>29596152
I actually planned to do them, but only when people specifically ask for "in-game-ish, like first boss" pics (like I did an unique in details command menu for Station of Awakening, that not many actually noticed). Too much work. And about work, I'll post some things in a new thread

But King Candy, like, a bunch of 0's and 1's

>implying this isn't a video game he could Turbo into

senpai pls

So, our plan is to Scan the heck out of surrounding, wait for magnet to get on ground level before doing anything to it, learn how we can get to unmoving Crusher and is saving cars from crushing is a possibility, and be on guard for anything Also did Magnet just threw a ded McQueen at us?
>>

>spoiler
I was wondering if someone would pick up on that.
>>
>>29596772
I kinda assumed, reading through again. If only half our weapons weren't metallic though. Sounds like this boss fight's gonna be a pain.
>>
>>29597026
That's just a chance to turn danger into opportunity senpai. If we rocket charge into a magnet pull I bet we can get some extra damage.
>>
What if we super charge the magnet so that it catches spike and his lance, while the magnet pulls him he can activate his rocket lance directly at the crane for maximum force and damage.
>>
I'm still voting for my original plan of having Anon and Dan fire at the magnet first turn while Spike watches our backs.

That's pretty much what >>29597370 said. Also I know we're in the middle of a boss fight but are we not going to talk about how we just got our first summon gem?
>>
>>29597585
I'm ready for the Powerline summon, myself. Will work well with our Performance skill.

I am around for the time being ready to throw up a new thread. Not sure If i'll be posting an update tonight though. may be going to a Walmart to camp out for the nintendo switch.
>>
>>29597711
Lemme know if it's worth it. I've heard hit and miss things about it.
>>
>>29597747
Will do. Its got enough games for me to be interested between zelda a new full 3d mario and xenoblade 2. And with the money from my Vegas winnings I don't see any reason to hold off on it.
>>
does anyone remember if I've used the picture of spike punching out the unversed as a cover image yet?
>>
>>29597955
clearly I haven't since it wasn't a thing till thread 4

New thread over yonder gentlemen.
