the castle will probably be the most expensive, since sets usually are, and then the toys with the holographic plastic. some might be included with the castle and add to the cost. Characters sold as singulars might be the lowest in terms of price, but any movie toys will be pricey compared to the regular toys since it's a new area and the company wants to make profit

IMO making him a non living creature would also give the movie some edge as they would be able to actually kill him on screen. Since he's a sapient creature, he will at best get imprisoned. But most likely he will either reform or just escape.

I think they upped the quality because someone at Hasbro is making a go at turning the MLP franchise unisex. If grown men like ponies, maybe they can convince boys to like them too. That's probably why the Storm King and Capper exist, to appeal to boys. Guardians of Harmony were announced as unisex, and those were way better than the girls-only toys.
