My expectations were that the movie would be on the blandness levels of season 6, where episodes were clearly based on extraordinarily "safe" concepts like the Gift of the Magi, and yet they couldn't write an interesting or cohesive plot around them. Basically, I assumed the movie would be obliterated when the writers put together a good script, but then received forty pages of requested changes from corporate middle managers.

Yet even with that mindset I'm still kind of disappointed with how some of these characters look.

"I expected nothing and I'm still let down" applies here. I expected nothing, but I'm still getting less than what I thought I would.
