In 2015 despite the pony toys having the fifth consecutive year to year growth EqG did so bad that the entire MLP brand ended up doing worse than previous years. Doesn't help that Hasbro said that the EqG toys were the sole culprit for this.

In 2016 the MLP brand once again has had worse sales than the previous year, making it it's second year of worse performance, though we won't know the exact cause till they release the full year report and we'll see if it's again just EqG or all the toys doing shitty

Flurry should be nuked from orbit but she was in the minority of the episode and the main part focused on Glimmer, i.e. all the great parts.
It's not a grand adventure but it set Starlight up pretty well, gave Spike a role and all that.
