I dunno m8, in the past people have thought they would do complete shit based on the idea, and the creative miracle workers on the writing and animating team subverted it and made it work. A few episodes written by generic guys of other shows have been pretty meh, but most of the time, they overcome all the worries. Even Equestria Girls was better than people thought it would be, and instead of being high school drama all the time, it's about a group of humans being infested by pony magic and getting turned almost into ponies by it, having to fight their desires of power and becoming demons.
