Was born during the G2 era but collected G1 and G2 both. Watched the original G1 cartoon movie as a kid. My favourite ponies were Firefly, Moondancer, Glory, and Bowtie.

Liked G3 a lot, my favourite ponies were Minty and Rainbow Dash so I tried to collect those two the most but I was a pretty solid G3 fan overall. The show was abysmal though.

Skipped the G3.5 Era because cutting the line down to the same seven ponies over and over again plus the creepy redesigns put me off.

Was right on board with G4 from the very fucking beginning, before the Season 1 premiere even and there was hype building for a new show by one of the creators of Fosters/Powerpuff Girls. Watched FiM from Episode 1 and haven't looked back since.

Growing up liking and collecting the series and being a girl/woman definitely helps. I'm in this for the long haul apparently.

I actually really, really miss being a part of the fandom in 2010-2012 ish times, it was a lot more fun back then I think. Probably because it was a huge giant wave of something crazy and new and for people like me who have been part of a tiny, quiet, under-the-radar series for a long time this sudden boom of life was really exciting. I mean yeah obviously the "BRONIES" (and you know the kind of bronies I mean) really shitted things up for everyone but overall I enjoyed myself a lot.

Hell I remember when /mlp/ was created because we kept overflooding /co/ with our colourful rainbow horses and it was the best. I remember discovering Derpy for the first time and other dumb little things like that. It's not going to be like that again, I don't think.

Equestria Girls is, I think, terrible and the show has suffered ever since Twilight became an Alicorn. No matter how hard I try I can't REALLY get on board with Sunset and Starlight but I'm plugging along with MLP like I always have...just cause I don't like a small part of the show or am as hype as I was several years ago doesn't mean that FiM is bad or dying or people who LIKE EQG are wrong. Opinions are opinions and everything's subjective. I just love my colourful ponies man.

PS: My husband-to-be is most definitely NOT a MLP fan of any description and doesn't entirely understand why I still like something so much that I loved as a kid, but enjoys when I'm happy and just shrugs and smiles when I mention Pone.

Remember when everyone was freaking out about Twilicorn? Yeah, I was affected by that. Up until then everyone was just happy with a show about cute ponies, then it seemed like everyone lost their shit. I honestly thought the fandom was over. So, after only a few episodes into season 4, I stopped. (so I guess more than one year) I would check on the show every once in a while, but other than that I wasn't enthusiastic at all. it's pretty much the same story for me. I started loosing interest with season 4 completely drifted away at just over half the season. I still occasionally watched new episodes but I wasn't nearly as hyped as I was before.

Now rewatching the whole series from the very beginning and I'm enjoying it as much as I was back in 2011.
I guess the ride truly never ends, even if you take a break.

2013 was a cock-up on Hasbro's part, fair and square.

They started the hunt for fan games and killed off the two most promising ones, clubbing the fan game scene over the head so much it never recovered.

They redid episodes on a whim because they couldn't decide if they wanted to continue the show or not until the very last bit moment and the quality suffered.

Larson admitted it with the wings and the episode being a constant theme whenever he is around.
Meghan admitted it more than once by creating a new pony to continue old Twilight's persona past S3 without wings, apologized for a lot of things that had happened that year and also for stuff like lying about the Rarity episode.
Lauren even used to keep up with the show until that point with that culminating in stuff like Them's Fighting Herds existence or the /mlp/ Q&A.

I remember the /co/ threads and it being everywhere on the fucking Internet so I decided to see what the fuss was all about and I loved it. When /mlp/ was first created it was fun.

Started in early season 2 and then left mid-season 4. EQG was the last time I followed this community seriously and Twilicorn left a bad taste in my mouth. Lurked on and off /mlp/ and fimfiction and stuff for about a year until the hiatus meme and season 3 fallout caused so much stagnation.

I made a lot friends from this community tho and I still talk to them to this day so that's all fine and dandy.

I figured ya'll would like some perspective from someone that dropped the fuck out of this community. Call me a bandwagon fan but I noticed a great dropoff in quality from the show and fan oc at the time I left.

/co/ creates MLPG (yes, that one that is still on the board and most likely the largest general in 4chan's history) which likes the show and starts spreading incredibly fast all over the blue boards and internet.
Sometimes around December or early 2011, a few people get the bright idea to show the ponies to the /b/.
Explosion occurs, /b/ spreads it everywhere around the internet while loving it and hating it to bits at the same time.
Trolling extravaganza prompts Moot to allow for the February bannings, any mention of MLP is a bannable offense. even saying "pony" gets you an automatic ban.
People get angry, stock up on dynamic IPs and spam back while abusing the primitive auto bans by mispronouncing names, like "pone".
A bit later, Moot realizes this is going nowhere and sets up a single thread policy on /co/.
GR15 in effect, it restricts all pony discussion on moderated boards to a single string of threads on /co/, hence why even the modern MLPG wait until image cap to make a new thread and always delete dupes.
/b/read prospers in a perpetual shitstorm.
Eventually, /mlp/ is created, MLPG gets booted off of /co/ and moderators stump down on /b/ pony posting as well since GR 15 is a global rule applicable even on /b/.

I was here enough to know who Rainbowcrash was and why he's a faggot. I know that some of the /b/ronies went ponychan in the beginning but :Pic Related. I know that the few I remember being quite active bailed when MLPchan was a thing,me included. I also recall Octobooru being where we watched streams for awhile. I'm pretty sure that the /b/ threads were a reskin of the shitty Alice threads too but God knows I had no part in that shit.

around 80 - 90% of them were started by employees of the company that makes the cartoon show
