This time, the alternate mare didn't even let her original see the reaction, turning away and stomping towards the door so fast she never even saw her face shift.

She didn't wait for the response before slamming the door shut, and stomping off so loudly that Applejack could hear every step as it went down the hall.

She almost started to dwell on it, and imagine what could have happened over there. When her stomach suddenly churned at the nightmares she conjured, her nose went back into her paperwork, and she got back to work.

You know, I actually like the theory that she peeked a lot more than the shooting theory. The first he could forgive as an honest mistake or convince himself something was really wrong with her at the time to cause it, but if she peaked? Quiet as a ghost, and every bit as easy to see, the infiltrator changeling was no stranger to slipping around places that she should not be, to enter into places that would desperately wish her kept away with the ease of opening a door and to slide about beneath their notice. She'd faced many of these in her lifetime, grand halls and simple shacks, and she'd conquered them all. The thought of such an action is not what worried her.

What worried her was that every one of them was a fair sight more difficult than the one she was currently in.

She had seen no opposition, faced nothing in her way, nothing to stop her and nothing to challenge her. If she'd known any better, and she certainly did not, she would imagine that this was all pointing to the obvious, that this was a trap waiting to close it's metal jaws around her ankle and leave her to be fed on by the wolves.

She had expected that, was prepared for that, and had been ready for it the moment she was clear out of what had to be hearing range of any of her compatriots in this invasion.

She wasn't prepared for nothing to happen at all.

Her thoughtful eye had looked out every time she passed by a grate, listened closely for the echoing of any hoofsteps down the hall to signal someone walking to and fro. She'd listened intently, trying to find a single soul to glean any information of where her current targets were, only to be left without every time.

Not a single soul walked the halls of Evo corp, at least none that she could find.

The Ex-pirate had never been a sneaky sort. She was one for dashing adventure, high flying attacks, her all given at the very start and going at one hundred percent until whatever it was she faced was completely dead. The idea of stealth in the vents above the building they infiltrated was a new one to her.

It was a bit thrilling, or it had been at the start, to imagine her sneaking as akin to the old stories of secret agents, hidden agendas, dashing suits and thrilling espionage. She may be a pirate, but if there was a Manes Bon film to be seen, she would love every moment of it.
