Dash is by far the most popular shippee, in part due to her being so popular and in part due to her personality being so shippable. Fuck, as soon as she was introduced she was shipped with Twilight.

In the early days of the fandom, with episodes like Fall Weather Friends, AppleDash rose to become the #1 ship, with FlutterDash and TwiDash as the runner ups. Nowadays I'd say TwiDash is the more popular ship while AppleDash has lost it's footing a bit. Both still remain very popular ships.

Another ship that's grown more popular is self insert ships, bronies having normalized the idea of a special snowflake self-insert. Anon is the obvious self-insert shippee here, and Anon is friend, lover, ruler, popular and loved by everyone in Equestria because of his inborn gifts. I guess it makes sense considering how much she's grown as a character, every little step along the way, from the wings to the castle to her studies changing gives potential ideas for new art and fics, whereas the changes that affect RD always have been of a more personal nature. Her slowly maturing and growing up, her joining the Wonderbolts, and her taking Scootaloo under her wing only really affect RD, Scootaloo, and the wonderbolts immediately in her vicinity.

They're probably the closest canon friends I'd say. Hang out a lot, most shared personality traits and hobbies/preferences, gets along splendidly (even if Pinkie gets a bit "too much" for Dash from time to time), and genuinely enjoy each others' company.

The only really comparable relationship is Rarity and Fluttershy, but they're sort of limited to spa visits.

Another really, really strong relationship is Dash and Fluttershy, who of course go waaaay back, to the point where I think they'd feel safe revealing anything to each other. Judging by how comfortable they are in Flutter Brutter, they might as well be family.
That's sort of where their relationship ends though, they'll be there for each other come hell or high water, but aside from Fluttershy admiring Dash's flying skills from the safety of the ground, they don't really have much in common. Their relationship is closer to that of siblings than friends or lovers.
