S4-6 has some of the absolute best episodes. Episodes so good I wish Faust could see them for she'd weep tears at their perfection.

S4-6 also has some of the worst trash not only in pony history, but in animation history. I'm looking at you, Applejack's Day Off and Princess Spike.

Just watch it you scrub. I would say 5 > 6 > 4 but they all have some good eps and some shitty ones. Hopefully they've picked someone competent as story editor for S7 and we'll have another good season coming up soon.

Once Twilight became one it officially shit the bed.

The only good episodes anymore require that Discord, Twilight, and everything from the Crystal Empire not be in them.

MLP recovered from blowing Twilight's ascension, which should have been much later in the series and treated with far more gravity. Surviving that tells me the show will last a long time, and will be good for most of the remaining years.

I don't remember much for Season 4, but the finale was fucking great.

Season 5 is pretty hit or miss, some good episodes here and there with a pretty good opener/finale too.

Season 6 is the best of the three tbqh. Most amount of good/memorable episodes, the trade-off however is a pretty shitty opener/finale.

Honestly depends on your tastes. If you thought that season 3 was alright then you're good to go because that season is definitely the worst. I personally would say that with the slight exception of season 2 Seasons 4-6 are better then everything before it (I would go 5>6>2>4>1>3 for the seasons) but like any episodic show with multiple writers there's some really good episodes and some really bad episodes in every season. If you liked the show before it's worth watching but if you don't have shitloads of time I would recommend skipping the episodes that are generally considered bad.
