cause people taste is changing.
>>29361779
they dont, MLP is doing better than ever and will continue to make money for hasbro
/mlp/ is whats dying.
>>29361779
because they arefaggots
It's been quite a few years, and most fandoms do have a lifespan unless they're huge self-perpetuating ones like Star Trek or something. That said, MLP is still extremely active even between seasons compared to other ones I've seen.
There are still a few good years left on the ride, at the least. And who knows? I can see people continuing even after this generation of the cartoon ends.
all the losers who showed up because the show was being memed at them are left with a great show they don't appreciate because nobody is feeding them attention any more for their attachment to it.

It isn't, and you aren't.

I actually am new to mlp, but if you don't want to believe me thats fine
>>29361779
because FUCK YOUR SHIT YOU GODDAM NIGGER
that's why
>>29361779
If your new, I suggest you leave. Your not going to find any good discussion about mlp on 4chan. Unless you have rampant sexual thoughts about horses, any other website would be better.Thank you, and God bless.

Realistically because the quality of the show is decreasing and (arguably) the quality of the fan content as well.
In terms of the actual show, basically any writer with talent left a while ago. Simply put, almost none of the original talent that began the show are still involved, and it shows. A lot.
Fan content is more debatable, but personally I've found the quality to be decreasing quite drastically in the last few years. One of the only real big animation projects (The Moon Rises) was just kinda phoned-in and kinda shit, and the rest (other than Lullaby for a Princess) have been underwhelming or frankly bad.

>giving a serious reply to a bait thread
>being wrong while doing so
How is the show doing financially compared to one or two years ago?
Cause ultimately our opinion is irrelevant as long as plastic is moving, right?
>>29362016
>the quality of the show is decreasing
so here's my thing: i figure people who actually buy into this narrative are probably the kind who either read or write fanfiction, meaning -- awful taste in everything. if a pop-up book is mcdonalds, fanfiction is still dog food.
either that or you're all the 'you actually like things? ha! what a pleb!' kind of asshole that will never grant something credit when shitting on it is easier.
>>29361779
>Why do people keep telling me that mlp is dying?
It's not dying, it is changing.
People can be scared of change. People can be scared of death.
Sometimes people mix up their fears and get all mixed up.
Don't give a shit about what people say, and you can enjoy that what is alive.
Their opinions are dead, and those wielding them are dying.
That's all.
>>29361932
who hurt you anon
>>29362016
really?
I'm on season 5 and it still seems pretty good
>>29362003
ok.
bye.

i want to second 'get out of here', you'll find nothing but bitching and spoilers here.
and porn. but the porn will have spoilers. and bitching probably.
>>29362067
I don't care if people like or don't like the show; I'm glad that people still like and support the show, but I'm seeing too many consistent, glaring problems in the writing and characterization (among other things) to really enjoy it anymore.
>>29362086
Mid point of season 5 (specifically "Do Princesses Dream of Magical Sheep?") is when I really began to lose hope. Maybe you'll be different (I hope you still enjoy it, truthfully), but I thought it only got worse from there.
>>29362067
>i figure people who actually buy into this narrative are probably the kind who either read or write fanfiction
as a >writer who makes greens for various threads, im disappointed this seems to be a common belief. i watch the show meticulously to figure out every tidbit of lore and character personality i can, and genuinely still get excited to watch new episodes.
do people really run across writers who arent even interested in the universe theyre writing about that often?
>>29362125
>but I'm seeing too many consistent, glaring problems in the writing and characterization (among other things) to really enjoy it anymore
if youre only seeing it in later seasons, i can assure you its simply your own personal bias. every season had glaring flaws and at least a couple episodes where a character was written extremely poorly.
>>29362175
I recently rewatched the first season with a friend who was curious about the show (and often quick to ridicule or dislike shows, especially cartoons). While there were a number of problems, no single problem, large or small, in the first season even came close to the shitshows of the Season 5 finale, Do Princesses Dream of Magical Sheep?, Princess Spike, etc.
The episode in the first few seasons that comes the closest to the poor quality that we've seen in later seasons was Mysterious Mare Do Well, which was almost universally hated or at least disliked.
>>29362249
you seem to feel genuine. wish i was feeling talkative; id have a lengthy discussion with you about the flaws in each season and show you that while every season has its own problems, it also does a lot of things great.
i suppose i can give one quick example. SSCS6k. AJ and her family make a bet against some snake oil salesmen and stake their entire way of life on it. all over pride. the bet itself was for "the sole right to sell cider" which already belonged to the apple family since the brothers didnt have apples of their own, which they actually say themselves. the bet is already a lose/lose for the apple family since they gain literally nothing for winning, and lose everything for losing, which they do. they lose.
realistically this would be game over since the brothers legally own their land at this point. they could have simply thrown away the shitty barrels of cider instead of trying to sell it like morons. they also already had dozens of high quality cider available right there, which the fucking apple family sells after they run off for no reason. then to top off this shitshow, AJ comes out and says she didnt learn anything; she was right all along. no. she was fucking wrong all along, and rightfully should have been homeless due to her stupid decisions.
anyway, just one sample. maybe well bump into each other again and we can have a better discussion.

>Do Princesses Dream of Magical Sheep
fuck you I liked it
>>29362159
obviously i have my opinion on fanfiction and >writing and there's no need to restate it. i do appreciate that you have the passion and effort to actually keep up with the lore.
it's less my impression that they're disinterested and more that they think they're god's gift to writing and criticism. and you know, more on that. i think a lot of people take the approach of 'find the most mistakes' when critiquing, in part because it's very easy and in part because it takes a lot more to say you actually like something.
>>29362404
ah, that makes sense. it doesnt help that a lot of people seem to think something has to be flawless to be enjoyable. i could find something to complain about in literally every episode, but its the enjoyable parts that are important.
>>29361920
hey, i joined the ride in early 2016 so im kinda new too, but im sure the low traffic is because the show is in hiatus. Done worry anon, here have a cute happy pinkie!
>>29362510
thanks buddy
>>29361779
because the show went from mediocre, to fucking terrible
its gotten so bad that we have an actual poochie on the show, I blame twilight
