That generally means they're just sitting on it until they decide to move forward with it. They could sit on it for over two years before even announcing anything.

I could see some shorts (EQG is getting shorts already) to test the waters. If it and/or EQG does well we will get a spinoff.

Will MLP continue alongside it? Probably. However I could imagine a 13/13 cycle where we get 13 of Guardians and MLP instead of normal 26 episode seasons. (Look to season 3 where we had a 13 episode season.)

Hasbro would only do this if they could expand the market for the toys, so they'd have to find some way to keep sales of the normal girly toys steady. That might mean new MLP episodes or maybe young kids are too dumb to care.

FiM will probably go to S8, and then Guardians of Harmony as a way to slowly introduce G5.

G5's going to be a full reboot or new gen, they're not going to keep trying to staple shit onto a shuffling dead continuity.
If they reboot they can set everything back to zero and have everyone relearn all the lessons they did and reuse scripts, ect.

See, this honestly doesn't look like a "boy/action" line so much as what a *normal* toy for the series should look like. Its AJ smiling, with perfect show accuracy. She's got an accessory that she uses constantly in the show, and isn't even fighting theme, she uses this thing all the time for random stuff or just playing around.
