Well, we could discuss the notion of character progression for Pinkie Pie. Twilight's become a princess, RD became a Wonderbolt, Rarity now owns an entire chain of shops, and even Fluttershy's come out of her shell and has her own circle of friends.

The earth pony mane 6 still seem much as they began. The humor style for AJ and Pinkie has shifted, and they gained their cousin status, but they haven't really gotten their arcs. Maybe that's because Pinkie's life goal has always just been making ponies smile, which she can already do?

She works for the Cakes, and acts as their live-in babysitter, but I don't think baking is where her life will end up long term. She wants a part-time job so she can keep her focus on party-planning. The babysitting seems much more significant, since she also got Flurry Heart attached to her quickly. Maybe Pinkie could decide with time to focus more specifically on making children happy?

Or maybe Pinkie's having no big life shake-ups is something that makes her unique amongst the mane 6.

I was just thinking about this a few days ago, actually. I've always said that Fluttershy has the weakest overall development, since while she does change within her enclosed episode, she goes back to being normal after it.

We all know Pinkie's great at throwing shindigs for her pals and having a good time, but I would enjoy her being put in a situation where it isn't so easy.
Something she has to work at and overcome.
I mean it's her QTmark for Christsake, why doesn't she pursue it more.
I enjoy seeing characters make their way in the world. Stagnation is deadening. There's so much more she could do if the writers let her, it's just a waste of character.

All you have to do is give her challenges to overcome. Like literally any other protagonist in fiction. That's pretty much what you already said though, except you seem to think challenge = working one's way up in the world.
This isn't always the case.

If a character manages to make their way up in the world and make a name for themselves without any hardship there's no point.
If Rarity had literally zero issues opening more boutiques, or if Rainbow didn't do anything and just randomly got into the Wonderbolts there's no point to that being an episode.
Sure you can have a challenge that doesn't lead to anything in the end, but that's boring too.
So either you have a boring episode where the character doesn't work for anything but gets it, or works hard and gets nothing.
Neither are very desireable from my standpoint.
Therefore, a good episode would be working hard and achieving something by the end.

A character should never stop growing until the end of the story. Unless it's a bg character, you shouldn't ever go "Welp, that's this character done. They're just gonna be part of the main cast and do nothing from this point on." You get me?

I think we're misunderstanding each other.
What I'm saying is that characters like Pinkie do not need to aspire for great lofty goals like Rainbow/Rarity/Twilight do, since they're already in a comfortable position they wished for.

However that doesn't mean character development stops, it just has to be handled in a different way. Challenges to Pinkie could be threats to her community, livelihood, or simply helping a pony in trouble. The trick is to make these challenges hard enough to spur on change within the character.

But that just makes her reactive. If she only gets motivated to do anything when her already 'perfect' livelyhood is threatened, that doesn't make for a fulfilling character.
I mean I guess you could say that hey, a reactive main character only really sucks when they're the MAIN character, and since Pinkie is just one of many it could work.

Reactive characters are boring.
If your character only reacts to the actions of others, and never does something for themselves... I unno' man, that's just genuinely boring. Maybe you dissagree but I feel like a lot of people feel the same way I do, considering how bad having 'reactive' attached to your character is.

Just like my last point, I've seen nary a work of fiction with reactive characters not fail.
Besides, that just bastardises Pinkie's character in general. The most high energy fuzzball with a seemingly infinite armoury of ideas, jokes, and personality traits? I mean, compared to the others she should have the MOST outlandish goals out there. She should be the one striving for the literally impossible, I mean, we've seen her do so before (albeit in a gag)so why not?

So I just default to my position of "Why the hell doesn't Pinkie do all she can to make the most people around her have the time of their lives?"
It's not like she's averse to making lots of people around her have a good time.
Not like "Oh, well, that's the residents of ponyville with good parties, fuck all the other cities and towns only ponyville gets me."
And it would be great to see her branch out to make the most bombastic, wacky and crazy throwdowns the nation's ever seen. Setting up stadium amounts of people with tonnes of confetti, 80 cannons and the most spectacular lights show this side of the solar system.
How would that not fit in with her character? To me, it just seems like something she'd not only love but be INCLINED to do. And seeing her struggle for an even bigger payoff in the end would just be fun, man.

We're used to her being loud and crazy. That's her thing. Her doing that but 'more' wouldn't feel satisfying to me.
Plus it doesn't use the range of emotions she actually possesses. No, I want her to become quieter, more intimate with ponies, more sincere. I want to see her challenged to make others happy in ways that a party cannot solve.

A logical error must have occurred. Let me explain my reasoning.
My main concern isn't a life of a fictional pony, as much as it hurts me to imagine her suffer she's still not real, thus can't be harmed by any of us.
However the intent to harm and destroy found in the first post is a very unhealthy desire. If it is the actual way anon feels he should seek help to improve his life, as those kinds of feeling are a nasty thing to have within or around. Such feelings lead only to suffering and pain.

I don't mean to be a douchebag but those sources aren't usually the most accurate. The 50-91% statistic is like saying that either all have it or about every second person has it - again not very accurate.
Still even the wiki article states that 'Homicidal ideation' increases the risk for violence.
And there's a broad list of bad things leading to said phenomena. So the probability of anon having a problem with it is quite high.
Of course thinking about stuff is nothing evil, but fantasising about mutilation and rape is something to be concerned about. And anon is really passionate about this.
That's why I wouldn't say it's harmless, since the more intense the symptoms the higher chance of it being linked to negative consequences and harmful sources listed in the wiki article.

I'll explain. As far as I know there isn't an appropriate match for Pinkie in the show. I think the best match for her would be a male with the same personality as Sweetie Belle. I think it would make sense if Pinkie acted as a big sister to Sweetie Belle when Rarity was busy. I also think Rarity and Pinkie have an affinity. Rarity is phlegmatic and Pinkie is sanguine so they are on the same side (winter and spring). I have found characters that I think have the same personality as Sweetie Belle. Sora Perse, Killua Zoldyck, and Tomato (from the Cowboy Bebop manga) are males with the same personality.

Now for some more radical ideas. I think Sunny Flare has the same personality as Sweetie Belle too. I think Sonata Dusk and Sour Sweet have the same personality as Pinkie Pie. I wish they would give Sour Sweet a different name since it must be very sad to be called sour. She could be called Misa.
