Hey guys, I got a question for you:

I've noticed a lot of people leaving /mlp/ and pony in general. That's fine, if you don't like it then you don't like it anymore. But recently, I feel like there are so many people who are leaving because of doompaul threads, because >NeverBe2010Again. Just now, I saw a guy bring up how much he misses when tombstone was around, but I would bet that he never made the attempt to find a different musician that isn't super horse famous, when you can find hundreds instantly that recently made music on EQD. I would bet that these people who leave because >muh2010 don't make the attempt to even find the new stuff coming out just because the ride isn't at full speed like it used to be.

Regardless of if you believe or not that this community is still worth staying in (or the content sustains your interest or not), is there any way we can get the anons that are leaving to at least ATTEMPT to get a better picture of what they're missing out on? Is there anyway for us to really show them "hey, just do some quick research, you may or may not like what you see, but at least you looked and made sure".

Sorry if I sound autistic right now, just kind of bothers me a bit. I just feel like there's so many people who might be missing out on fun stuff because they were just exposed to the idea of "not 2010 anymore" and never looked to see what the show, movie, and content creators still have in store.

I totally understand what you're saying anon, and people who lose interest in the show can do so for the right, informed reasons (like you, since you understand its still there, you just don't think its worth checking out anymore. My problem specifically, is that I feel there is a highly larger amount of people who are leaving because they think that nothing is being created when it seems that they aren't even trying to see if anything is still out there. Reworded, my problem is that people are leaving because they want content, and aren't even trying to find it, as if they expect it to be spoonfed to them. I'm totally fine if someone leaves. I just want them to leave for the right reasons, not just out of ignorance. You can leave if you don't like the current content output, but I'm a little upset when people leave because they think there is a lack of content, when in reality, they don't even seem to be trying to find the content that is constantly being produced.

And normally, I wouldn't care. Everyone is free to what makes them happy, its just a shame in my opinion. If they leave because it doesn't make them happy its fine. But if they leave when it really could've made them happy and they just didn't realize it, it's a real shame.

However, I would say that the fan content is rather a dessert or side dish to the entree of the show. I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone from the 2011-2012 era thats still around and says they enjoy the show now. But in a way thats ok cause having the same people in the fandom for a long period of time can get boring its nice to have new blood come around every now and again. I myself have only been in this fandom for 2 1/2 months finished the series in 2 weeks and I can honestly say I love this shit. And I know I'm not alone on this there are plenty of new people coming into the fandom everyday. The whole "old fans leaving" isnt something that just happens with us there are plenty of other fandoms with people like this. Hell coming from the tokusatsu fandom myself I can't tell you how many people have left it because "eugh its all the same no ones making anything good no ones doing anything blah blah blah". But once they left about 100 more took their place. Its just the way fandoms are so yes people leave but new ones always come around.

I've never eaten ramen with chopsticks, seems kind of strange to me but at least I can use chopsticks without issue.
