I usually don't ask for permission when I color or recolor anything, but >>29209432 was an edit involving fetishes, so this time I did ask the original artist before uploading it. It's just, I don't want to spam the artist's tag with too many variations of the same pic, I feel it would be disrespectful to his original drawing. But, fwiw, I've just uploaded pic related to Imgur and added a link to the description of the original upload so any other nostrilsfag out there can find it relatively easily now.

Well, I said 4 days ago that I wanted to take a break before editing more porn, and I'd like to make it a bit longer to prove myself, uh, something. Sorry.
On the bright side, some people asked Pusspuss to color his drawing, so if there isn't a colored version and people keep insisting and he decides to do it, he'd do a much better job than the best I could do. I wouldn't be able to do something like https://derpibooru.org/1322249 if I lived for a thousand years. Maybe waiting a bit before uploading a (bad) coloring is for the best.
(anyway, if any of the other colorfags here want to do it, go for it, obviously)

“I doubt they’d date you if they didn’t like you Dash,” You try to bolster her esteem.
>”No, not like that…they liked what they saw, being an athlete and awesome and all that. But that’s all they wanted.”
>She’s trying to piece together words and you patiently stroke her shoulder while she does.
>”They didn’t like that I wasn’t like that all the time…I didn’t want to settle with some pony who wanted me to change, and I didn’t want to be with some pony I wasn’t going to settle with…”
“So you cut your relationships short because of that?” She looks over as you complete her thought.

I rewrote the proposal scene a few times but eventually settled on the more standard romantic setting because I feel like Dash would be the type to go out of her comfort zone like that to show how she cares. And I felt like I put enough in to logically be able to pick it up again if I decide to. But for now I'm done.

81,239 horse words. Never written anything this long before and going back through I feel like I've improved as a writer, but I'm not the best judge of that. So as always, comments, criticisms, complaints, suggestions appreciated.

We usually don't talk much about the comics ITT, but I've just read the last FF, storytimed in >>29337085, and I really liked the way they wrote Rainbow. I think it's worth a read even if you're not much of a fan of the comics (neither am I, this was my first comic in months).

I don't wanna lie, the only reason why I read it was, I thought it was going to be a shipping fest and I wanted to prepare myself for the unavoidable banter, but it was actually really nice and definitely a million times better than, ehem, certain episode we all know.

Fuck, my phrasing was confusing, by saying this after mentioning shipping it seems that the "bad" episode I was talking about was STFF (which despite the shipping fuel was one of my favorites of the season). That wasn't my intention at all, I tried to say that the comic was a million times better than Newbie Dash. Mostly because the Wonderbolts didn't look like complete jerks for once here.

Anyway, now that the dust has settled and the wound is closed, have any of you thought how could that episode have been better? Honestly, I think that the basic idea (maybe the part that Polsky wrote), wasn't that bad. Rainbow feels bad whenever someone calls her "Crash" and after this episode she proudly embraces the name (Top Bolt, this comic). I think that's great, but for me the episode was terrible because you were supposed to laugh at Rainbow having the worst time of her life (instead of feeling sorry for her like in Tanks for the Memories, for example). It's just so mean-spirited, and not what I expect from this show, at all. I think that removing all the uncalled-for Schadenfreude wouldn't make it a good episode, but at least it would make it way less outrageous.

This. The poor girl worked so hard to get there and all they showed (mostly) were her low points and how it was a bit different from what she'd expected. While it would've been lacking in content, I wouldn't have minded a hug fest of happy feels. She deserved it especially with all of her other abuse during the season.

Oh, right. Yeah, I agree, this was another of the low points in the episode, she's only happy like the first minute and the last 20 seconds, and that's quite depressing for an episode dealing with such important achievement. Plus, the scene where she's happy being a janitor was so clumsy that I remember many posts saying that they had broken her. Later we saw that Rainbow is still Rainbow (thank you, Top Bolt), but the fact that we only saw her happy when she was a janitor was definitely a terrible ending.

And, well, of course I'd love an episode where she's happy the whole time, but that's cheating, the idea was to try and fix this mess. I guess that something that could work is making the performance when she fails badly just a training. Then there's the talk when Spitfire nags her, Dash realizes she was wrong, and then we would have a new scene with the real performance, with actual audience, where she is great. Everyone cheers her, now she has a good reason to be happy, the end. Maybe even we could have the actual graduation she never had, right after that. Anyway, we end with this shot. This shot was the best part of the episode. I don't know, something like that.

I haven't. Many people I know know I like MLP, and some of them know Rainbow is my favorite, but no one knows that I actually love her. I think something that helped is, there was a long time between when I decided that she was my favorite pony and when I realized that I was in love with her. The fact that those people think that I still like her non-romantically would make any accidental spaghetti look like a joke, so I think I'm fine.
And no, the fact that they know that I like the show doesn't count as spaghetti, I've always been so annoying about all the shows I like that no one gives a fuck anymore.

It probably affects me more than I realize, but this is one of the most curious effects.
I started watching the show dubbed to my language, and the woman who voices Rainbow here also voices lots of other shows. Whenever the TV is on and I'm not paying attention, if I hear her voice I can't help but to watch and listen to her. It's funny because for me Rainbow's voice is her original voice, and I only hear Ashleigh Ball's voice when I think about Rainbow, but for some reason this "secondary" voice is still deeply linked to Rainbow in my brain.

I've told my internet friends, and a few of my closer irl friends. Pretty sure the irl friends forgot, but internet friends are pretty understanding and even supportive to a point. As for 'jumping', I know exactly what you mean. It happens all the time on mumble when I'm focused on playing something and my friends are talking about something else.

Other than that, other people knowing barely affects my life, though my personal love for her has a much greater affect.

Haven't really said anything about it to any of my friends, but I'm sure some of them have come to that conclusion. They know about my 5 plushies of her and 2 posters and random sketches I get done at conventions of here but they don't know about my daki of her. It's something that they could assume based on her being that I have the most fan created content of her, but I don't really bring her (or the show) up much to them because they absolutly hate it. As for my family, I'm sure back when I lived with my parents they had suspicions. Mostly because they would go into my room and make the bed randomly and would probably find a plush of her in the bed. They've never said anything to me about it though, so either they didn't notice or chose to ignore.

As for personal things that have changed for me it's a pretty good list. I've gotten a lot more confident and more action oriented about my hobbies meaning I don't just sit around and think about what I could do, I go out and do it. I've become slightly more outspoken and forceful with my choices instead of being run over or going with the flow for the sake of not creating ripples. When I hear the word Dash, my attention does get drawn away for a second and I sometimes imagine her hanging out with me when I'm not at home.

I also get what you mean about key words catching your attention. "Dash" is the only triggering one for me partly because that's what I think of her going by.

Probably the biggest affect though has been my motivation. She's given me motivation to get back in shape and succeed in college.

I can relate to this. Kinda. My dad is very open-minded, and he asked me a few times. "Son, you know you can tell me, if you're gay you don't have to hide it, I'll be proud of you", things like that. Eventually I said, "no, I'm not gay, I don't like boys, but I don't like girls either", and fortunately that was the end of it (I know I'm really lucky to have such a supportive family, I'm not bragging).

The fun part is, that was way long before I even started watching the show. I really didn't feel any kind of "attraction" back then. I guess that it was one of the reasons why, a few years later, it took me so long to realize that I loved Rainbow. I literally hadn't loved anyone before. So, on a deeper level, the biggest effect Rainbow has had on me is, thanks to her I learnt that I can love. And it's something that makes me really happy.

That's really sweet anon. It's amazing the kind of impact the mere idea of a cartoon pony can have on people, myself included.

I feel quite similar to you and I think the love I have for her is more valid and real than anything this world can offer. Sure it hurts to know that I can never be with her, but the feeling I get every time I open my computer and see her face is irreplaceable. The fact that I can have those feelings for a girl I've never touched, a girl in an entirely inaccessible place, is a testament to the power a simple love can have. I know some people here complained about Rainbow being a bit OOC in that episode, with her competitiveness pretty much gone and that, but I really liked it anyway, it was so nice to see an episode showing her in such a good light for a change.
I'm a bit worried about season 7 desu. At least we'll have each other, right?

I don't think that's really true, she was down to smash Appleloosa from the second she heard it, she just realised Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie were better players and even later mentioned it was humiliating being beat by them, but it was what it was. Though that said actually, it's funny how watching the episode back, it's never really visible that Fluttershy outperforms Rainbow, they both save everything coming their way.

As for Buckball Season's writer not returning, it's a real shame, but a lot of good writers haven't. One of my absolute favourites is Cindy Morrow who I haven't really heard about since S5. If I'm not mistaken though, the Buckball Season writer was new, so we could get some new ones this Season who rock their episodes

>He holds a black bow tie up to his throat first, and then a long, bright red tie of more common type.
>”Which is better? The tailors just got it all up to me, and I’d asked for both but…what?”
>You realize your mouth is hanging open, and promptly shut it with a click.
“I just...didn’t expect you to be getting ready. So soon.”
>He nods toward you.
>”Yeah, well I didn’t know how long it’d take the tailors to work even with a hefty bonus for speed.”
>He’s getting ready! It’s no problem then!
>Windy’s face seems to flash across your eyes with that half annoyed/half concerned look from earlier.
>You take a deep breath.
“Anon...I’m sorry I...bullied you earlier.”
>A wince tightens your mouth before you can master it.
“You don’t have to come...unless you really want to.”
>Anon looks past you and moves across the room to sit down, studying his socked feet.
>”Every time…”
>You barely catch the half whispered words.
“Hmm? Every time?”
>He looks up to meet your eyes with a serious expression.
>”Every time I think I’ve got you figured out, you do something unexpected.”
>You only watch him, unsure how to take that.
>He runs his fingers through his hair and sits back.
>”I felt bad about spying on you. So I was gonna come to this dinner no matter what...but…”

>You flap over to sit across from him, forcing yourself to meet his look squarely.
“Honestly...it was Windsong.”
>Surprise registers before curiosity and then suspicion.
“I’d told her how we first met. You know...with me kinda...pushing in here?”
>He nods.
“Yeah, so when I told her you’d agreed to come tonight, she wondered, after hearing how you were nervous about ponies, if I’d been a little too...eager.”
>Each word feels like you’re digging it out with a blunt spoon, but you’d finally said it all.
>He smiles slowly. That seems like a good sign.
>”And you say she’s my biggest fan?”
>You nod cautiously.
>”I gotta hand it to you, Rainbow. You’ve got me looking forward to this, a bit.”
>You let out a breath you hadn’t realized you’d been holding.
“Look, I’m really sorry I got carried away.”
>He waves away your apology.
>”It’s all good. At least there’ll be no surprises.”
>His slightly nervous laugh cuts short as you stiffen, wings ruffling as if to fly away fast.
>”Are you alright, Rainbow?”
“There’s...one more thing you should know.”
>His back stiffens as well.
>”What? What’s going on?”
>He’d find out eventually…
“Okay, just...don’t freak out…”
>Your words, so similar to his when you first met, makes you both pause for a moment before laughing softly together.

>You gather yourself and fix him with the same serious gaze he’d given you before.
“I’m one of the bearers of the Elements of Harmony. Loyalty.”
>The blood drains visibly from his face, and you can see his fingers digging into the cushions of the couch.
>”That isn’t funny…”
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner! It...it normally doesn’t come up, and you were so worried about Princess Celestia…”
>You trail off as he sways slightly and you quickly jump up and race over to get him a bottle of water from the minibar.
>He accepts it with trembling fingers, and drinks it down in one go.
>”You...you work...you’re part of that wea-”
“Don’t call it a weapon!”
>You immediately try to moderate the heat in your voice.
“It’s not like that.”
>You make yourself sit down across from him again as he tries to pull himself together.
“Twilight could tell you more...I don’t really know how it works. It’s just, our friendship. Our friendship coming together to...to hold things back. To stop the worst stuff that tries to hurt Equestria.”
>”Twilight? As in Princess Twilight?”
>You nod and he shudders.
“Anon, I’m telling you there’s no weapon. No grand conspiracy. If anypony’d know, I would. I’m in the Wonderbolts, and an Element of Harmony.”
>”Just...lemme sit a minute.”
>You clamp your mouth shut and watch him as he struggles with himself.
>”So you...and five others...use some kind of magic artifacts to protect Equestria...and you say it’s not a weapon. Celestia doesn’t use it to...control other things, countries?”
>You snort derisively making him jump.
“Sorry. But yeah. Princess Celestia hasn’t ever made us use them or even tried to. It only works when all six of us use it together anyway. And I’d never do anything like that.”
>He looks up at you surprised hearing that.
>”It only works if all of you..?”

>You nod.
“I told you. It’s our friendship that makes it work. All of us.”
>”But what about Nightmare Moon, and Discord, and that huge magic eating monster?”
>You wave your hoof at him.
“Tirek? Yeah, we’ve had to deal with some stuff. But Princess Luna is alright now, Discord’s a friend, and Tirek was sent back to Tartarus.”
>His eyes bulge.
>”You s-sent him to Tartarus?”
“Oh, no. That wasn’t us. We stopped him with the Elements after he absorbed all our magic, but he had originally escaped from Tartarus, so that’s where he went afterward.”
>He just stares at you.
>”A-and the Crystal Empire?”
>You shake your head.
“We were there, but that was all thanks to a big crystal heart powered by love. It stopped Sombra.”
>You see him silently mouth the words “...powered by love…”
“I mean...most of this is known. Maybe the details aren’t, but everypony has heard most of what’s gone on. I’m sure when you talk to the others…”
>His head jerks up.
>”The others...right…”
>His eyes take on that piercing look again.
>”Why’d you tell me all of this?”
>You shrug.
“It’s not a secret. I don’t think our names have ever been exactly shouted around, but it isn’t all hushed up or anything. I’m sure the others knew before I even met ‘em. You’d find out one way or another, and I figured it’d be better if I just told you.”

>He stares a moment more before nodding.
>”I don’t know, Rainbow. I don’t think you’re lying to me...but I just don’t know. It’s a lot to take in.”
>You return his nod sadly.
“Are you still gonna come tonight?”
>He pauses, flexing his hands slowly before nodding again.
>”Yeah. I think I should. I need...I should talk to these ponies.”
>You aren’t sure if this change in attitude is positive or not. But it’s something.
“Sure, Anon. We all wanna talk. It’s a few hours yet before the reservation.”
>He looks up at you quickly, almost his original self again.
>”Oh, I got a message from Windsong. She said the reservation is for nine, not eight.”
>He shuffles over to a writing desk and hands you a sheet of stationary.
>”It says to let you know too.”
>You read Windsong’s short message and set it down.
“Anon, I don’t want you to think I’m...I dunno, trying to manipulate you or something. I’m gonna go for now, and I’ll meet you for dinner at the restaurant, okay? That way you can talk, and listen, and ask what you want in front of all of us.”
>His face softens in a grateful smile.
>”Okay Rainbow. That’s a good idea. I’ll see you tonight.”
>You stand up and trot over to the door, pausing as you pull it open to look over your shoulder.
“Use the normal tie, the bowtie doesn’t look as good.”
>His smile broadens, and the tightness in his eyes lessens as he looks hopeful.
>”You got it.”
>The door clicks shut softly behind you as you walk out onto the causeway.

Hey, Church, I hope you read this. It's been one month since your last update. I don't know if you're still working on your green or not, but for what it's worth I'd like to read more. Or, if you don't feel like finishing it, at least write something else.

I mean, if you no longer enjoy writing that's one thing, but please don't stop writing altogether just because you tried something new and it didn't work as expected. I enjoyed your greens and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
