No wonder why the thread was so slow, it doesn't feel the same without our discussions about nostrils. :/ยท\)
I usually don't ask for permission when I color or recolor anything, but >>29209432 was an edit involving fetishes, so this time I did ask the original artist before uploading it. It's just, I don't want to spam the artist's tag with too many variations of the same pic, I feel it would be disrespectful to his original drawing. But, fwiw, I've just uploaded pic related to Imgur and added a link to the description of the original upload so any other nostrilsfag out there can find it relatively easily now.
>>29316354
Well, I said 4 days ago that I wanted to take a break before editing more porn, and I'd like to make it a bit longer to prove myself, uh, something. Sorry.
On the bright side, some people asked Pusspuss to color his drawing, so if there isn't a colored version and people keep insisting and he decides to do it, he'd do a much better job than the best I could do. I wouldn't be able to do something like https://derpibooru.org/1322249 if I lived for a thousand years. Maybe waiting a bit before uploading a (bad) coloring is for the best.
(anyway, if any of the other colorfags here want to do it, go for it, obviously)
Funny how the thread for the most colorful pony mainly creates colored drawings.
>this guy draws some adorable Dashes

Recolor anon, you are doing God's work. And if Rosen is still around I loved the short you did in the last thread.
Last update to Excuses incoming. Sorry in advance for the length.
>The train ride went by quickly.
>You reviewed your โhomeworkโ and practiced a dozen conversations in you head.
>You had no idea what to expect, so you tried not to dwell on it.
>Canterlot was pretty busy. The commuters getting off the train added to the multitude of ponies filling the streets and skies.
>Everyone was moving with a purpose and you were able to slip through the crowd without turning as many heads as youโd expected.
>Ten minutes and a few unplanned detours later you found yourself at the castle gates.
>The guards werenโt exactly cordial, but they had your name on their manifest so they sent word and after a few short minutes a small unicorn stallion met you at the gate.
>โMr. Anonymous, pleasure to meet you.โ
>He extends a hoof and you lean down to bump it.
โYou as well Mrโฆโ
>โIโm Gold Ray.โ
โโฆMr. Ray.โ
>His eyes are wide as he stares up at you, or at least his glasses make them look that way.
>It made it difficult to tell if he was nervous.
>โYou can call me Gold Ray, Iโm just an intern.โ
>He motions for you to follow him.
โFair enough. Are you going to be working with me then?โ
>โYea, wellโฆin a way. Same branch different shop.โ
>You nod in agreement even though you have no idea what heโs talking about.
>โDr. Waveguide is the division head, youโll meet with him first.โ
>You make your way through the more sparsely populated streets.
>Youโd only been to the castle once before, and you hadnโt had the time to appreciate your surroundings.
>The cobblestone road was a lattice of asymmetrical pieces cut and placed to fit against each other almost seamlessly.
>Impeccable architecture stretched up several stories on either side of you.
>>29318525
>Either the construction was brand new or they had some concrete formula that didnโt wearโฆor they controlled the weather.
>Your eyes wander and you briefly spot a Wonderboltโs poster farther down the street.
>Immense pride wells up in your chest when you see the pegasus you share a bed with is emblazoned on the front with her characteristic cocky grin.
>They sure were getting their marketingโs worth out of her.
>You take a turn before you have a chance to trip over yourself, but the well-timed morale boost bolstered you confidence.
โThis cityโs amazing,โ You try to spark a conversation with the quiet unicorn.
>Everything from the stained glass windows, to the buildings, to the tasteful placement of vegetation at street corners had the telltale mark of magic.
>That perfect, smooth, uncanny look that couldnโt be replicated with tools.
>Your comment sparks his inner geek.
>โYou think so too? They say it took the ancient mages a day and night to make this place.โ
โThatโs all?โ
>โItโs just a story, but no written records have survived since then so itโs all we have to go off of.โ
โWowโฆit looks like it was made yesterday.โ
>You trace your hand on a building wall as you round the corner.
>โYeah, well thatโs magic for you. Itโs too bad we lost track of the ancient spells.โ
โYou mean no one can do this anymore?โ
>He looks up at you like you were dumb.
>โIf we could, weโd do it a lot more often.โ
>Makes sense.
โI assume you donโt have magic like that in your world?โ
>So he knows youโre an alien.
>That saves you a painful and boring explanation.
โNo actually we donโt have magic at all.โ
>That gets his attention.
>โYou mean youโre race doesnโt practice it?โ
โNoโฆmagic doesnโt exist, Iโve never seen it before I got here.โ
>His mind races to come up with some sort of explanation as he trudges on with his mouth a bit agape.
>โSoโฆyou canโt use magicโฆโ
>>29318532
>He sounds like heโs talking to himself but you respond anyways.
โNot one bit. Pretty useful with my hands though.โ
>He snaps out of his trance and looks to the wiggling fingers.
>โHuhโฆโ
>You sense this was going to be an uphill battle to prove your usefulness.
>The two of you take a few more turns before you come to an inconspicuous building separate from all the rest.
>A thick oak door stands in your way. Surprisingly it looked tall enough that you wouldnโt have to stoop.
>Gold Ray knocks on the door and a peephole opens up.
>You canโt see whoโs looking at you, but whoever it is approves.
>The door unlatches and opens without a creak.
>โThis way.โ
>You follow him into a dark hallway and the door closes behind you.
>โHold up!โ A gruff voice calls out.
>You freeze and look backโmore startled by his urgency than his coarseness.
>A burly unicorn stallion lurking in the shadows hoofs you a light blue glowing crystal and you take it.
>โCanโt get in without that.โ
โThanks.โ
>He nods and returns to his spot behind the door to write something down on a list.
>โSorry I forgot that you needed a pass.โ
>You look at the jagged crystal in your hand.
โIs it like a visitors pass or something?โ
>โNo itโs a nullifier.โ
>You donโt respond and he catches himself.
>โSorry, uhhโฆthis hallway is filled with a resin fieldโฆyou canโt see it, but if you didnโt have that itโd feel like you were swimming through glue.โ
>You wave your hand pointlessly and feel nothing but thin air.
>Neat.
>โJust donโt drop it, you wonโt be able to bend over and pick it up.โ
>His comment had a certain matter-of-fact tone that only extensive knowledge could give.
>Scarier implications start to sink in and you clutch the gem tightly in your hand until you make it to the end of the long hallway.
>Another door, same size, less security.
>>29318539
>The other side of this one was much brighter and you squint at first as your eyes painfully adjust.
>Immediately your senses register the smells and sounds of a busy but organized workshop.
>Your eyes focus and you realize that youโre standing on a catwalk thatโs suspended about ten feet over the working floor.
>Everything is bathed in a familiar orange tint unique to incandescent bulbs; this place had electricity.
>You didโt even have to look up to recognize the technology youโd taken for granted until you got here.
>Below you unicorns, a few zebras, and minotaur are all busy at their workstations or walking purposefully.
>Needless to say a few stopped to stare at the newcomer.
>You just look on in amazement as Golden Ray startโs heading down the catwalk.
>The hanger-sized room was divided into segregated clusters of cubicles and had larger swathes of floor space cleared for unfamiliar machinery.
>Towards the back, more hallways and rooms could be seen leading off into yet unknown areas under Canterlot Castle.
>The catwalk had staircases leading off to the work floor and led to a large office that had oversight of the workshop.
>โOn the left is the magic workshop, itโs pretty much ERDโs main focus, they get most of the funding.โ
>You look over and see a bunch of unicorns staring back at you, the ones who werenโt had their horns lit up as they marked papers and chalkboards.
โERD?โ
>โโฆEquestrian Research and Development. Did you not get an orientation packet?โ
โNo, Celestia just told meโโ
>โโYou spoke with Princess Celestia!โ
โYeahโฆshe gave me the job.โ
>โWell you canโt use magic and you got appointed by a princessโฆyouโre one interesting character thatโs for sure.โ
โThanks. I guess.โ
>โUhโฆon the right is the physics, electrical, and chemistry workshops. Theyโre all part of the secondary branch and the magicians make up the primary branch.โ
>>29318546
>Youโre eyes follow his words towards the more interesting looking side of things.
โAnd which do you work in?โ
>โSecondary branch, physics. Iโm an intern with Dr. Steelhammerโheโs the minotaur towards the back there.โ
>You make eye contact with the burly blue creature staring you down and he waves.
>You wave back.
>โThis is just the working floor, most of the action takes place in the north and east wings.โ
>The sheer scale of the facility was astoundingโat least for these ponies it was.
>In reality it was probably no bigger than a supermarket back home, but the apparent sophistication was surprising.
>The hint of ozone and the familiar din of electrical machinery was surprisingly nostalgicc.
>The catwalk quickly terminates at a door that reads โDr. Waveguide.โ
>Golden Ray knocks.
>Youโd be nervous if you werenโt thrown off by how surreal it all was.
>A muffled โcome inโ was heard amongst the din of the room.
>Your pony escort opens the door for you and you take the initiative and walk in.
>He closes it behind you without a wordโstranding you in silent, foreign territory.
>An older unicorn stallion in a suit peers at you above half-moon glasses. The desk in front of him was clear with the exception of a few trinkets, a notepad, and a bowl of almonds.
>โAh you must be Mr. Anonymous.โ
โYes Sir I am. Itโs a pleasure to meet you Dr. Waveguide.โ
>He hoof bumps you.
>You mentally congratulate yourself at the solid first impression.
>โHave a seat, have a seat, lets not get caught up in formalities, besides, youโve done quite a bit of walking to get here.โ
>His deep and weathered voice is soothing on your ears. He sounded like heโd be a good narrator.
โThatโs alright Sir I stay pretty active.โ
>You have your quadrupedal friend to thank for that.
>You pull up the chair and sit down at his bidding.
>>29318555
>โWell itโs good to hear that. So many colts and fillies these days donโt value a healthy lifestyle like they should. But then againโฆyou may have had a different upbringing I take it?โ
>A sage smile portrays a genuine interest that came uniquely from elderly charisma.
โWe have a similar issue where Iโm from, but I managed to avoid the pitfall.โ
>โYes well, you may have to run if we accidentally conjure up another ancient monster.โ
โโฆOkay.โ
>The uncertainty in your voice was apparent and the unicornโs worn features crack into a laugh.
>โHa ha ha ha! Donโt fear itโs a mere jest! I play the same joke on all the new comers.โ
>You like this guy already.
โWell you had me scared for a minute.โ
>He adjusts his glasses and scrutinizes you for a good ten seconds, mumbling to himself like a doctor during a check up.
>โMr. Anonymous youโre the first alien I have ever met.โ
โI hope youโre not disappointed.โ
>โNot at all, in fact Iโm surprised that youโre so decipherable.โ
โYou are?โ
>He leans down to pull out a file as he starts his lecture.
>โIf I didnโt know otherwise Iโd say you were merely a strange looking foreigner. Youโre clearly bipedal, but you have the same bone structure for the most part andโฆthe cephalization of a predator.โ
>He says the last part without the slightest hint of concern.
โYouโre accurate as far as I know Sir. But I donโt eat ponies in case you were wondering.โ
>He plops the folder on the sturdy desk with a loud smack.
>โHa ha yesโฆthe powers that be wouldnโt have allowed our meeting if you were. Omnivore?โ
โCorrect again.โ
>He nods, โYou must not be looking forward to working with all these unicorns then?โ
>What did that have to do with anything? Was he being racist?
>He himself was a unicorn so you juggle the question lightly before answering.
โIโฆget along with them.โ
>>29318565
>It was true, but you definitely did prefer the company of pegasi and โstandard poniesโ as you liked to put it.
>Unicorns just seemed a bit more temperamental.
>Kind of like your neighborโs spoiled poodle that barked all the time.
>Except worse because they talkedโฆ
>That didnโt make you racistโฆ
>โNonsense! You prefer the company of a pegasus over a fish fillet meal in the back corner of the quiet restaurant.โ
>He says it matter-of-factly and doesnโt bother to look up as he starts flipping through the folder.
>He was right.
>Was this some kind of unicorn kung-fu that youโd never heard of?
โYouโd make a good detective Sir.โ
>โYes well thatโs an overgeneralization of courseโan educated guess based off your anatomy and temperament. I like to think of it as my curse for spending my college years studying biology.โ
โYouโre a biologist by trade?โ
>โAnd a physicist.โ
>Wow, heโs one of those really smart ponies.
>He flips another page.
>โAnd dabbled a bit in magic studiesโฆโ He adds as an afterthought.
>Makes sense.
>Your thumbs twiddle and your eyes wander to the bookshelf that engulfed the wall behind him.
>You could make out a few titles, from magic to more familiar topics.
>โDonโt worry though weโre all professionals here so you will be working with ponies, not their emotions.โ
>Thatโs good to hear, emotions were never your forteโฆmade you wonder how you got lucky with Dash.
>He flips another page.
>โNow letโs get down to business shall we. It says here that youโre species has made advances in the fields of physics and electricity, and you do not conduct magic. Is this true?โ
>You didnโt know how they were keeping a file on you, but you donโt question it.
>After all youโd pretty much walked into the Equestrian equivalent of DARPA.
โWeโve made advances everywhere, but yes, magic doesnโt exist on Earth.โ
>He looks up at your before scribbling something down.
>>29318570
>โYouโre referring to your โearthโ I assume.โ
โYes sir.โ
>โInterestingโฆI donโt mean to pressure you at the moment, however as you can imagine I have more than a few questions to pose you.โ
โItโs no trouble sir Iโd be happy to talk about what I can, unfortunately Iโm not really an expert in much.โ
>โWhat is your level of education?โ
>This was more like the interview you were expecting.
โHigh school and a bit of college.โ
>โOnly a bit?โ
โMyโฆunexpected transplant interrupted it.โ
>โAh I see. Weโll discuss that in depth later; can you expound on your knowledge?โ
>That was a broad question.
>He shifts in his seat and tosses a few nuts into his mouthโcrunching loudly.
โWell, every school has pretty much touches on biology, chemistry, math, physics, and historyโฆand usually some kind of foreign language.โ
>Heโs leaning in on his fore hooves.
>โVery interesting.โ
>If his interest wasnโt genuine before, it was now. The Equestrian equivalents of high schools had their own focuses much like college degrees.
>And the global standard for college was only two years instead of the typical four.
โI focused in engineering in college, but I didnโt have time to specialize; I was only in it for a year due to circumstances.โ
>He ponders his options for a moment.
>โWell Mr. Anonymous, Iโm not sure how apply you to Equestriaโs defense; but since youโre familiar with such a broad range of topics, how about we take a little tour to help find the best fit for you.โ
>Defense? As in national defense?
โThis is a military installation?โ
>โNot exactly, but weโre the only establishment with the necessary resources and our recent focus has been on countering foreign developmentsโฆI take it you didnโt receive the orientation packet.โ
>This wasnโt part of your plan.
โNo Celestia just told me to draw out my toaster idea and show up.โ
>He raises he brows and fights a smirk.
>>29318576
>โOh well Iโm sure your toaster will be quite valuable to large families with many young ones. But here we tackle the bigger problems.โ
>You were fairly familiar with how guns and bombs worked, you just werenโt sure about introducing this benevolent land to your ideas.
>Assuming you could come up with a working plan that is.
โI uh, Iโm just not sure how I feel about building things that kill poniesโฆor gryphons or whatever.โ
>โThatโs a bit shortsighted donโt you think?โ
>He was probably the smartest pony you know, but something about being lectured to by someone half your size irked you.
โHow so?โ
>You were trying your best to keep your formal tone.
>โHow can a military force navigate if they canโt see the sun?โ
>You werenโt sure what heโs getting at.
>โHow can they communicate if they canโt use magic, or eat if their food if itโs rotten? How can we tell an attack is coming before we can see it? These are the questions we tackle here Mr. Anonymous.โ
>Youโd never thought of that.
โSo you donโt build weapons here?โ
>โWe do. Most of them revolve around magic, but there are some projects going on in other areas.โ
>That doesnโt do much to ease your conscience.
>Dr. Waveguide seems to read your unease.
>โDo me a favor and think about it while we take a look around, you just might change your mind.โ
>A few minutes later you were on the work floor introducing yourself to ponies and seeing all of the little projects that were going on.
>You werenโt the smartest person and a lot flew right over your head, however you did recognize some more familiar ideas.
>Telegraphs, more efficient coal for steam engines, plastics, a pulley system for what looked like a compound bow.
>You get led around for the better part of two hours, and while it was definitely interesting, your lingering reservations grew.
>Dr. Waveguide pulls you aside.
>โSo Mr. Anonymous, what do you think?โ
>>29318580
โItโs really interesting sir, but Iโm just not sure itโs my place to intervene.โ
>โIntervene in what?โ
>You were going to say something about the prime directive, but the more you think about it the stupider it sounds.
โI donโt know it justโฆdoesnโt seem right being an outsider and all.
>You donโt want to sound condescending, but youโre still uncomfortable with the idea of using your brain as a weapon.
>โPreposterous, youโre an Equestrian are you not?โ
>You naturalization papers say you are.
โWell technically yesโฆโ
>The weathered pony decides you need some more convincing.
>โFollow me if you will, I have one more thing to show you.โ
>You follow his lackluster black tail as it weaves through a few cubiclesโheaded toward the corner of the working floor.
>You pass ponies youโd been introduced to, but you canโt remember their names.
>Each of these ponies apparently had the same mindset Dr. Waveguide did, and you had to admit he did make a good point.
>You werenโt entirely opposed to violence, especially if it was used to save yourself or someone else.
>But building weapons for someone else to use as they see fit, for good or for evil, just didnโt sit well with you.
>Granted you could probably avoid specific projects if you askedโฆ
>Dr. Waveguide presses through a door in the corner of the room.
>You follow.
>The busy sounds of the work floor fall completely silent as the door closes behind you, more uncanny magic.
>Youโre eyes take a moment to adjust to the darker hallway.
>Rustic oil lamps light the walls and illuminate the artwork adorning itโa stark leap from the rough utility of the rest of the facility.
โWhat is this place?โ
>He responds without looking back.
>โThis is our history room; part of the tour I saved for last.โ
>You study the paintings as you walk by.
>>29318592
>A unicorn with a beard and some chemistry flasks, a young pegasus with a measuring equipment on his back, a group photo with Princess Celestia in the center.
>The doctor didnโt slow so you donโt stop to read the captions.
>The hallway makes a turn and opens up into a mid-sized room.
>The atmosphere held the tinge of old paper and ink.
>Carpet squished under your shoes a youโre immediately struck with an air of luxury.
>Every wall of the room was covered in memorabilia and displays.
>Thereโs so much to take in you donโt notice the familiar item Dr. Waveguide b-lines for.
>โMy late wife and I had three fillies.โ
>The somber tone of his voice catches your attention.
>โBeing a father was a challenge and a reward and before I knew it, they were all grown up.โ
>You absently stare at some kind of telescope in a wall cabinetโyou wanted to give him space to tell his apparently important story.
>โWell they all went their separate ways and I was left to my work. I thought that all my worrying was over, theyโd become capable mares that could take care of themselves.โ
>He sounded like he was starting to choke up.
>โMorning Star was my youngest, she was working as an event planner for a wedding when thoseโฆbugs attacked the castle.โ
>You swallow a lump in your throat and hear him sniffle a bit behind you.
>โShe got separated during evacuation andโฆthey found her b-body in an alley outside of the castle.โ
>He didnโt need to tell you to know what had happened to her.
>Twilight had told you that if they canโt trick someone, changelings can feed off their own positive emotions to a lesser extent.
>No doubt theyโd used her to do just that.
>The room loses its warm tone and the gadgets lose their intrigue.
>You wanted to comfort him, but you get the feeling that he needed his space.
>You stare down at the floor for a few long minutes while he composes himself.
>>29318604
>โThere has never been a doubt in my mind that what we do is for the greater good.โ
>He seemed much better now an you turn to look at him still staring at a display case.
>โAnd every time I sign something into production that can kill or maimโฆI have the same doubts. But I always think back to those I love and I find the courage to do what needs to be done.โ
>You finally look at what heโs staring at.
>Inside the display case is a series of pegasus outfits, all the same type, but apparently different generations.
>The one on the far right has the familiar yellow and blue pattern of the Wonderbolts.
>Reality hits you like a truck.
>Rainbow Dash was in the military too.
>Youโd never thought of it that way but technically the Wonderbolts were an auxiliary unit of the Equestrian guard.
>Dr. Waveguide turns to you, all remnants of emotion gone from his face.
>โI hope that you never have to face what I did years ago, but if you doโฆthink of this as an opportunity to be proactive.โ
>He nods to the uniform.
>He knew?
โWait, you know aboutโโ
>โโYour significant other, yes. Your companionship has been noted in your file.โ
>You werenโt sure which emotions to tackle first.
โYouโve been watching me!โ
>โNot us, no some pony else. I merely got your file when you were appointed to work here.โ
>Your anger was quickly diffused, but it left you unfulfilled. There was no one nearby to blame.
>โBefore you get upset please realize that whatever they did was completely necessary. If youโd made contact with other nations weโd definitely have cause for concern.โ
>You canโt blame them for that. But youโre still mad.
>โThink about the offer andโฆthink about her,โ you follow his eyes back to the uncomfortable dilemma, โYou know the way out and Iโll be in my office when you need me.โ
>And with that the stallion walks out of the room leaving you to your thoughts.
>>29318609
>Who wouldโve thought an unassuming unicorn like him could turn your life upside down in less than a minute.
>Honestly you expected as much when you first got here at least, but you still felt like yourโs and Dashโs privacyโs had been violated.
>Either way thereโs nothing you can do about it now.
>What mattered was the decision that stood before you.
>It had never occurred to you that you could have any affect on what she did.
>Flying, the Wonderbolts, those were always just something that you took for granted.
>Of course you were always a bit nervous when you watched her pull off daring stunts, but you were confident in her abilities to handle herself.
>But if she ever got called into actionโฆhandling herself might not be enough.
>As much as you hated the thought of it, she wouldnโt be one to back down from a fight.
>You close the distance and read the placard on the display.
>โBreeze Gen 4 Flightsuit: Developed by the ERD team to help our flyers fight the frigid temperatures and demanding stress of aerial combatives. Incorporates a magic lattice that prevents sharp object penetration and stiffens upon impact.โ
>Wow.
>You never knew that smelly suit that always ended up on your couch had that much thought put into it.
>Youโre definitely going to take better care the next time you wash it.
>You suddenly feel overwhelmingly incompetent.
>Someone, somewhere in here made something that made your mare safer.
>These strangers were doing more for her than you wereโฆ
>Your obsession with her made you think she was invincible, that everything was rainbows and butterflies.
>It was an irresponsible and selfish way to look at things.
>Up until now you'd had your head in the clouds and that kept you ignorant of reality and all its unpleasantries.
>The fact is she was flesh and blood like anyone else.
>Her livelihood is potentially more dangerous to her than her own thrill-seeking stunts.
>>29318627
>And you had a responsibility to accept her choices and support her any way you could.
>Your heart stutters at the thought of her getting injuredโฆor worse.
>Granted Equestria hasnโt gone to war in forever, but still.
>If they ever did, you want to know that you'd done something to help her in some way.
>Youโre not exactly sure how you can affect that directly, but you sure as hell werenโt doing anything by turning down the job.
>That was something you didnโt have to think twice about.
>In an instant you make your decision and head out the door with a purpose.
>Youโd do whatever they asked of you as long as you could justify it by Dash.
>You werenโt sure if it was Dr. Waveguideโs intention to manipulate you like that, but you donโt care.
>It worked.
>You climb the stairs and knock on his door.
>You had a lot to discuss if you were going to take this job.
Pt. 1/2 more to come in a bit
>>29318638

>Dash had day off, when you walk in the door you hear grumbling and bitching coming from the bathroom.
>Peak in and see Dash like this.
>"Why is it so dang hard to get these stupid ribbons wrapped? I should have just ed asked Rarity for help" she speaks out loud in frustration to no one in particular.
>She glances in the mirror for a second and a blush forms on her face.
>"But how would I have explained it any other way."
>You laugh out loud causing her to jerking her head around.
"Looks good enough to me"
>She let's out and angry huff.
>"It was supposed to be a suprise" she pouts.
>With a quick pull on the highest section of bow, the 'wrapping' comes undone.
"Oh my gosh, a cute pony for my birthday! I'm so suprised" you say, feigning a shocked face.
>The blush reddens a little more on her face and she gives you a shove before flying up and giving you a hug.
>"Happy birthday Anon"

>Ponies scurry out of your way as you bolt to the train station.
>You were about to miss the 6:25 to Ponyville, and in turn, your dinner date.
>You blame your lack of watch for your miscalculation, but in all honesty you just got carried away.
>Youโd had your conversations with Twilight before, but you never thought you could nerd out that hard.
>You round the corner out of breath and out of hope.
>The train was already half a mile away and gaining.
>You let out a sigh and sink into an empty bench nearby loosening your constricting collar in the process.
>Well this sucks.
>You just stood up your favorite mare.
>Your only mare.
>You mentally kick yourself for your stupidity.
>The sign in front of the ticket office informed you that the next train wouldnโt arrive for another hour and a half.
>Well, you could choose to brood or be productive.
>The sun is almost touching the horizon and you decide to thumb through the orientation packet in the light you had left.
>It had some neat pictures, but it was mostly generic garbage about helping other ponies and furthering your education.
>Nothing you hadnโt already covered in your hours of conversation.
>You stuff it back in you pack; back to brooding.
>Time ticks by and you feel every second as your self-loathing deepened.
>Dash never liked the formal approach to things, especially when it came to your relationship.
>Sheโd really gone out of her comfort zone to ask you on a dinner date.
>And youโd completely thrown that away.
>By the time the next train arrives youโve plateaued at the limit of sobriety.
>You half-expected Dash to suddenly land next to you in a cloud of dust and windโribbing on you for how slow you were.
>But that never happened.
>You board with the few other late commuters and try not to doze off as the rhythmic sound of the tracks serenades you.
>Ponyville wasnโt completely shut down, but most of the restaurants had already closed.
>>29322079
>A few drunk stallions laughed loudly to themselves as you passed them on your way back to the apartment.
>You honestly didnโt know what to expect from Dash, youโd never really let her down before.
>You have to think of someway to make it up to her.
>Before you know it youโre at your door. The apartment light is on so you know sheโs in there.
>That or she left them on to run up your electricity bill to spite you.
>You swallow a lump in your throat before you head in.
>Youโre greeted by the familiar smells of your shared flatโฆbut no pegasus.
>Damn, she probably left.
>Youโd leave you too if you were her.
>The fact that youโd savored your date all day only made the situation that much more difficult to swallow.
>You drop your backpack on the couch with a sigh.
>As you start unloading it your door flies open so violently you jump.
>โSorry Iโm late! Spitfire made me teach a class and I had to clean up a-and I got here as soon as Iโฆโ
>She trails off at the surprised look on your face. Her eyes glance to your bag, then back to you.
>โDid you just get back too?โ
>You nod to the sweaty, slightly out of breath pegasusโstill in shock at your luck.
>She stares at you for a moment before she cracks a grin.
>โGeez dude how come youโre always so slow?โ
>You smilie at her intentional lack of logic and close the distance.
>She hops her forelegs onto your shoulders as you drop to a knee.
>Her tongue lashes out at your face in sloppy pony kisses.
>You smile and surrender to the onslaught; she soon starts focusing her licks on your mouth and you take the opportunity to lock her lips in a kiss.
>The post-flight ozone smell overpowered her cool sweat and your nose worked in conjunction with your tongue to embolden the taste of her mouth.
>She whimpers and pulls harder on your neck.
>A hand moves to caress her nape, mirroring her action.
>>29322088
>Her tongue begs for entry and you allow itโฆbut the appendage immediately shoots to the back of your throatโgagging you.
*Gack
โโฆWhat the heck!โ You fall back on your butt and wipe your mouth.
>Her toothy grin looks more mischievous now that sheโs at eye level with you.
>โThatโs for being late.โ
โBut you were late-erโฆm-more late!โ
>She moves towards youโusing her nose to push yours back.
>Her legs straddle your body and you canโt help but yield to her advantageous position.
>โI have to fly all the way back from the academy in the cold and dark and all you have to do is get to your train on time.โ
>Her sultry eyes made your face flush as much as her hot breath.
>She had a point.
>She also had the high ground.
>Her nose now pinned your head to the floor and she took the moment to share your breath.
>Your chest flutters, โI donโt have a watchโฆโ
>She responds by pressing her lips hard to yours.
>โOhohoo duude! Check out that acshun!โ
>Both of you are so lost in your reunion ritual that you forgot to close the door.
>Several drunk ponies just caught a glimpse into your lifestyle.
>Without breaking the kiss Dash brings up her hind leg and blindly kicks at the door.
>It bounces off the toe of your shoe and drifts back open.
>That kinda hurt.
>โNo way thatโs Rainbow Daโโ
*wham
>Your foot wasnโt in the way the second time.
>Now there was nothing to interrupt the smacking sounds of your embrace.
>Sheโs pushing against you pretty hard and the only thing keeping the back of your head from bruising is the dirty apartment carpet.
>Both your arms constrict around her neck and withers, and your strength and weight force her to lay down on you.
>Her powerful lips nibble yours, her fore hooves reposition, her breathing becomes erratic as she starts to get carried away.
>Youโd been looking forward to this from the moment you woke up this morning.
>>29322095
>A slender tongue infiltrates your mouth and introduces a hint of oats and barley.
>You stay away from her wings and back, but eagerly entertain her kiss.
>She breaks your typical twirling dance and gingerly moves the smooth tip of her tongue farther back on yours.
>For a moment you fear another playful gag, but her mood told you that was unfounded.
>Fingers spread through her damp neck fur and you remain motionlessโtrusting your partner to navigate you carefully.
>To your surprise, she leaps across the chasm to the roof of your mouth.
>The tip of her nimble tongue starts to tickle at your soft palette.
โHmhmhmhmmโฆโ You giggle into your partner.
>โHehehehโฆโ
>She giggles a bit in response before curling her muscle up the roof of your mouth until it rested behind your front teeth.
>That actually felt really good; it had never occurred to you to pay attention to anything besides her tongue and enamel.
>She finally pulls away, but you bite her tongue between your lips and tug on it.
>Her eyes dart open and look into yours.
>โAun leh eeh ghoโ
โHmm-um.โ
>Her tongue quickly starts to dryโmaking it easier to hold on.
>You playfully pull on it some more like you were stealing a spaghetti noodle from her.
>Sheโs beginning to look annoyed.
>You loosen your grip and the muscle escapes your grasp.
>She lifts her head and smacks her lips trying to re-wet her uncomfortably dry tongue.
>โWhat the heck dude?โ
โThatโs for being late.โ
>Her eyes narrow but her smirk betrays her respect for your clever retaliatory jab.
>instead of letting you up, she makes herself comfortable on your chest.
>โSo I guess that was like a, uhhโฆkiss and makeup?โ
โYeah, I forgive you.โ
>She hoofs your shoulder.
โOw!โ
>โIโm not mad that youโre late so you canโt be mad Iโm late.โ
โFair enough.โ
>>29322103
>Her folded ears betray her tough attitude.
>You canโt tell if she doesnโt know that her body language is so readable, or if she just doesnโt care.
>Out of nowhere she kisses you again.
>Just a quick peck, but you didnโt see it coming.
>For some reason she seems extra affectionate tonight.
>At least compared to normalโฆor what youโd seen of normal.
>In all honesty you donโt really know, but it sure seems like somethingโs gotten into her.
>Speaking of which sheโs staring at you.
>The strange look in her eyes demands all of your attention.
>It was a look youโd never seen beforeโฆ
>Not nervousness, youโd seen that plenty of times.
>This was something deeper; a product of a thought in her churning mind.
>She pre-empts you before you have a chance to ask her what it is.
>โLetโs go out.โ
>Her words carried a hint of finality as if they were rehearsed.
>You wanted to appease her, but youโd missed your window of opportunity.
โIโd like to but all the restaurants are closed.โ
>โNot to eat, justโฆsomewhere else besides here.โ
>You werenโt too keen on late night drinking, especially after a long day, but she sounded hopeful and you werenโt going to snuff that out.
โSure.โ
>She visibly brightens though still retaining a sober overtone.
>She rises to her hoovesโstanding over you.
>A lingering kiss lands below your eye.
>โGimme ten minutes.โ
>She hops over you, wafting you with her powerful musk and giving you a quick flash of her tantalizing teat bulge through her suit.
>The bathroom door closes down the hallway and you just lay there trying to figure out whatโs going on.
>This must be what people mean when they say itโs hard to understand women.
>You roll to your hands and knees, then to your feet.
>Youโll have time to contemplate it later, right now you need to freshen your breath and change.
>>29322112
>Twenty minutes later Dash walks into the living room to see you minus one suit and tie and plus one sweater and jeans.
>A relatively easy transition for you.
>But you couldnโt say the same for her.
>Her bangs flowed in a glossy cascade down one side of her face and the back was tied in a sort of pony tail.
>Her tail had undergone a similar transformationโloosing its fuzzy air-whipped appearance.
>Primary feathers glistened with a coat of conditioning oil and her cyan fur was brushed free of any sweaty clumps.
>She lookedโฆgorgeous.
>Not that she didnโt always, but especially now.
>You werenโt sure how she made such a transformation in this short of a time, but it was amazing.
>Unfortunately she didnโt tell you she was โdressingโ up, and now you feel inadequate without your suit.
>You mustโve stared for too long because she looses her nerve and breaks eye contact.
>โI-Iโm ready to g-go, s-sorry I took so long.โ
โRainbow you look beautiful.โ
>Her tail sways at the compliment, but other than that she just stands there apparently uncomfortable with the attention.
>You walk over to her and she keeps her eyes locked on the half of the room you werenโt in.
>Fingers run through her glossy colors confirming the silky texture they portrayed.
โI like your hair this way.โ
>She finally looks at you, โReally?โ
You nod, โReally.โ
>You wanted to tell her it was the cutest thing youโd ever seen but you didnโt want to smother her.
>You lean in and plant a kiss in front of her ear; heh, her fur smells fruity.
>The action reminds her who you are and she gains some confidence, turning and looking you in the eye.
>โY-you look good too.โ
>Obviously you didnโt, but you donโt want to torture the mareโs fragile nerves.
โSo where are we headed miss Dash?โ
>She blushes further at the charade, but answers.
>โTh-The parkโฆ?โ
>The statement was partially a question; she was waiting for your approval to proceed.
>>29322119
โThe park it is then.โ
>You lead her to the door and open it.
>A bit of relief washes over you.
>Dash wasnโt much of a drinker, and the park was a nicer place anyways.
>You head out the front door and make a left.
>The night air had gotten a bit cooler in your absence, and Dash stuck by your side.
>She couldnโt lean into you because your height difference would cause her to trip, but she sauntered in a way that made the nature of your relationship apparent.
>You had to resist the urge to ruffle her hair or play with her ears, you didnโt want to ruin all the work sheโd put into herself.
>As you walk farther out of town the absence of lantern light reveals a multitude of celestial objects in the vast sky above you.
>You make it to the entrance of the vacant park and Dash takes the lead.
>Apparently she had a specific place in mindโthough for what still remains a mystery.
>It was possible that she wanted to spend a romantic evening stargazingโฆit just didnโt seem her style.
>The moon is waning, but the starlight is more than enough to see comfortably by.
>It glints off her tail as you follow her impeccable form down familiar paths and bends.
>Even if youโd worn your suit youโd still feel underdressed in the presence of the naked pegasus.
>The path disappears into a small cluster of trees and you struggle to keep the mare in sight.
>In all your time here youโd never been in the forest at night.
>To your surprise, plants all around you start to glow at the slightest disturbance.
>Mushrooms, flowers, and ferns cast their soft blue-green glow onto the beaten path.
>The bioluminescence mesmerizes you; there was nothing like this back home why hadnโt anyone told you about it?
>Twilight would know about the glowing plants, probably something to do with magic.
>Soon you pass the last mushroom clinging to the shadows and find yourself in a very familiar clearing.
>>29322127
>Calm water gently ripples and distorts the sky above.
>Ankle-high grass sparkles with the occasional firefly and sways gently in the silent breeze.
>This was where Dash gave you your private airshow.
>The spot where youโd first been intimate with her, and it clearly held some meaning for both of you.
>You look to your hiking partner but sheโs already making a beeline for the water.
>You chase after herโleaving an angry trail of fireflies in your wake.
>She stops a few feet from the waters edge and sits down, you sit next to her.
>She doesnโt say anything so you donโt either.
>Silence seems fitting.
>You look out of the corner of your eye, admiring her sleek contours as her attention remains diverted.
>Your luck quickly runs out and she catches you and looks away.
>Why was she being so shy?
>Was it still because of her prettied up hair?
>You throw an arm around your companion and look at he celestial reflections in the water.
>That was much easier on your neck.
>You need an ice breaker.
โSo how long do we have before the Timberwolves trace our tracks?โ
>You feel her turn in your arms to look at you.
>A delayed chuckle blasts your cheek.
>โHeheh, weโre not in the Everfree dummy, weโre fine here.โ
โSo I donโt need to go piss on a tree to mark our territory?โ
>โHahahaha!โ
>You join in and ride the laughter together.
>She loosens up a bit and you find yourself staring into her eyes.
>She bites her bottom lip and breaks eye contact.
>โF-for the record, Iโm kinda glad I donโt have to go to some fancy restaurant with silverware and stuff.โ
โYeah me too.โ
>She perks up and her tail swishes once.
>โReallly? I thought you liked fancy stuff after that dinner and all the candles and things.โ
โWell I was just doing it for you, I thought you might like that kind of thing.โ
>โI did! I meanโฆI know how much work you put into it, but you donโt have to do that for a mare like me.โ
>You donโt like her tone.
>>29322132
โWhat do you mean โmare like me?โโ
>Her eyes divert again and you bring a hand up to scratch her ear.
>The action seems to put her at ease.
>โItโs just that Iโm not like Rarity or anything and Iโm bad at looking pretty and being fancyโโ
>Your finger on her lips takes her by surprise and silences her.
>She crosses her eyes on it before blinking and looking up at you.
โThat is the most absurd thing Iโve ever heard. Youโre great at looking pretty Rainbow Dash, you just donโt realize it because you never have to try.โ
>Even in the dark you can see her cheeks dim.
>Your finger was still awkwardly shushing her.
โRarity is good at the fancy stuff because thatโs who she is; you donโt like it because thatโs who you are, and I kind of like who you are.โ
>โA-all of it?โ
โHuh?โ
>โD-do you l-like all of who I am?โ She asks nervously.
>What kind of question is that?
>You almost chastise her for not knowing the answer.
โEvery. Last. Bit,โ You punctuate each word with a tap on her nose.
>She soaks up her emotions for a moment before turning away.
>โS-sorry, I shouldnโt question you like thatโฆitโs justโฆโ
โJust what?โ
>โOther stallions, when I tried to date themโฆthey didnโt like all of me.โ
โI doubt theyโd date you if they didnโt like you Dash,โ You try to bolster her esteem.
>โNo, not like thatโฆthey liked what they saw, being an athlete and awesome and all that. But thatโs all they wanted.โ
>Sheโs trying to piece together words and you patiently stroke her shoulder while she does.
>โThey didnโt like that I wasnโt like that all the timeโฆI didnโt want to settle with some pony who wanted me to change, and I didnโt want to be with some pony I wasnโt going to settle withโฆโ
โSo you cut your relationships short because of that?โ She looks over as you complete her thought.
>She nods.
>>29322146
>You had a pretty good idea of what she meant, and you intended to specifically nullify that fear.
โDash, you donโt have to worry about that anymore. I love you especially when youโre all soft and mushy, you donโt have to try and be number one all the time for me to still love you.โ
>Those words force a smile of pure joy to her face.
>She scoots closer before turning back to the sky to pointlessly hide her blush.
>But she canโt hid her uncontrollable grin.
>You look up too so she doesnโt feel self-conscious.
>Arms wrap around your furry mare and she drapes her wing over your shoulder in response.
>The sky was clear enough to trace the outline of the galaxy.
>You lean back and stare up at it, futilely trying to find a familiar constellation.
>You had to admit you were skeptical about the whole going out thing, but this was worth it.
>Both for the scenery and for the company.
>โSo youโre from out there, somewhere?โ
>You never wouldโve pegged her for a romantic stargazer, but you werenโt going to ruin the moment.
โSomewhereโฆprobably.โ
>She stays silent for a moment staring up.
>Youโd looked at astronomer charts, but none it looked recognizable. Even if you knew what to look for their optics werenโt good enough to see far enough to matter.
>โDo you want to go back?โ
>Sheโd never asked that question before, and honestly itโd been a while since youโd thought about it.
>โLike, if you could, would you?โ
โNo.โ
>She turns, surprised by your quick response.
>โWhy not? Donโt you miss your family and friends?โ
โSure I do. But Iโve got friends here that Iโd miss more if I went back,โ You squeeze her shoulder for emphasis.
>She audibly gulps and shuffles a bit.
>Despite your experience together the silence is painfully awkward.
>You canโt help but think Dash has something she wants to get off her chest.
>You lean over and kiss the side of her muzzle.
>โAnโฆummโฆโ
>Looks like it worked.
>>29322159
>Her ears flicker and her wings ruffle as if sheโs agitated.
>โAnon, you can have f-family h-here tooโฆi-if y-you wantโฆโ
โWhat do you mean?โ
>Something prompts her to her hooves and she steps out of your reach.
>A shiver runs down her spine and she takes a deep breath.
>She ducks her head over her wing and maneuvers around it with her nimble muzzle.
>She stops, checks over it with critical eyes, then dives back in to fix something.
>Must have a twisted feather, she told you how painful those could get.
>She surfaces, finally satisfied with how things were.
>Her unreadable eyes meet yours and she takes a shaky breath.
>Before you can react she walks deliberately to your side andโฆbows?
>One of her fore legs buckles and she drops the right side of her body.
>Ears fold to her nape and she turns her head to the side.
>Her wing slowly unfurls in front of you until itโs sticking straight out.
>She reveals the purpose of her actions before you can ask.
>โAnonโฆw-will you be my mate?โ
>Time comes to a standstill and your senses distinctly heighten as your furiously beating heart floods your body with adrenaline.
>Fireflies blink in the background and for a moment you could swear the stars looked like they were spinning around the both of you.
>Dashโs muzzle was buried in her fore hoof, one eye watched you intentlyโas if her life depended on your next move.
>There was no doubt in your mind as to what she meant.
>And there was no doubt as to what your answer would be.
>She made you happy, and more importantly, for whatever reason you mad her happy too.
>Your eyes gaze over her shaky wing.
>A lone feather was out of place, deliberately bent to collide with the natural symmetry of her primaries.
>It didnโt take a genius to know what to do.
>You reach out and gingerly grasp the feather.
>It comes free without the slightest effort.
>Sheโd plucked it herself and put it there for you to find.
>>29322166
>Once itโs free she folds her wing and stands up again-pulling a fore hoof to her breast nervously.
>The six-inch feather seemed to encapsulate her natural beauty in the moonlightโglinting from pale to deep blue at itโs tip.
>You look over to the mare next to you whoโs obviously still waiting for your answer.
>So you give her the only answer you could the only way you know how.
>You tackle her with a hug.
>Your bodies roll around in the grass desperately clinging onto each other with every limb you had at your disposal.
>Her tongue lathers your cheek and face and you laugh at the sensations of her slobbery embrace, careful to hold onto her feather.
>Somehow across an innumerable distance, against all odds, youโd found your other half.
>You were made for each other.
>And nothing would make you happier than dedicating the rest of your life to that.
>Your tongue meets hers in a kiss before she has a chance to beg for one.
>Your feelings were so strong for her that when you werenโt expressing them like you were nowโฆyour chest actually hurt a bit.
>Expressions of her own convince you to lose track of time and when you come to, youโre staring down at her sparkling eyes, her slobbery muzzle as out of breath as yours.
โI would be honored to be your mate Rainbow Dash.โ
>Her smile is matched only by your own.
>All the nervousness in her body was replaced with excited shuddering.
>You pull her to your chest and squeeze her tight to try and stop it.
>You had no idea it was possible to feel this happy.
>You look at the blue feather in all its beauty.
>It was one of her primary flight feathers.
>>29322173
>Marriage was a legal status, but it was traditionally a simple agreement.
>In less civilized times, the loss of the feather would make her more vulnerable until it grew back.
>Symbolically, it meant she now depended on you.
>You canโt say you expected this so soon from her.
>But that didnโt mean you werenโt ready.
>There was nothing to think about, nothing to debate.
>Because there was nothing to convince you otherwise.
>You pull her back to look at her one more time.
>Her teary magenta eyes, her pretty face.
>Youโd always heard of people talk about the โhoneymoon phaseโ of the relationshipโthe time when you thought your partner was perfect in every way.
>The feelings you had toward her sure seemed to match up, but you were hesitant to call it a phase.
>You werenโt fooling yourself, you knew that the novelty of her body and her fame would wear off with familiarity.
>But her cocky smile, her sarcastic sense of humor, her soft scratchy voice whispering lovingly into your ear while she keeps you warm with her wings.
>Those were the reasons you fell in love with her.
>You didnโt need to make any excuses for your actions.
>Because those things would never get old.

I rewrote the proposal scene a few times but eventually settled on the more standard romantic setting because I feel like Dash would be the type to go out of her comfort zone like that to show how she cares. And I felt like I put enough in to logically be able to pick it up again if I decide to. But for now I'm done.
81,239 horse words. Never written anything this long before and going back through I feel like I've improved as a writer, but I'm not the best judge of that. So as always, comments, criticisms, complaints, suggestions appreciated.

I'm not crying, this is liquid pride. That was so beautiful, I loved it, mobius. You certainly can't hide that you really want to make Rainbow happy, but so do I, and that made this story special for me. I'm so glad I read it, and I want to thank you again for writing it, and for not giving up when you almost drop it. Thank you.

Dash is saddened by three bumps in a row
We usually don't talk much about the comics ITT, but I've just read the last FF, storytimed in >>29337085, and I really liked the way they wrote Rainbow. I think it's worth a read even if you're not much of a fan of the comics (neither am I, this was my first comic in months).
I don't wanna lie, the only reason why I read it was,I thought it was going to be a shipping fest and I wanted to prepare myself for the unavoidable banter, but it was actually really nice and definitely a million times better than, ehem, certain episode we all know.
>>29337222
Wow, I haven't read anywhere near all the comics,
The ones I have were ok but nothing much to shout about but I enjoyed reading this one.
I've butchered https://derpibooru.org/1347649 for reasons.

Your characterization of Dash is both adorable and imaginable. And hot
Those were some really enjoyable 81k words. Thanks, mobius.
>>29340075
Overheating is a problem when your body's covered with fur.
>>29340653
>Fur
Dude, horses and ponies don't have fur, they have short hair the same way (to a degree) that a human does.
>>29340887
They have the standard down hair layer and guard hair layer covering most of the body, like nearly all mammals. It's often called fur. But if you prefer human hairiness, well, it's a fetish, I guess.
>>29340075
Imagine how the room would smell like her sweaty butt...unf
>>29341002
That's why I like fur better.

"Dash did you sneak in to use my AC again?"
>See her sitting face down ass up in front of the AC full blast.
>"Aww come on Anon it's soo hot outside!"
>As you get closer the smell of her sweaty musk blowing off her hits you.
"I...guess you can stay for a bit then."
>She sighs and stays there for another 10 minutes...moaning the whole time.
>wait until she leaves then furiously jack it to the smell of her essence while crying.

>>29337222
I liked it. Dash was just really likable in this. If anything I think it suggested shipping Soarin x Spitfire because I always interpreted the little feud between them to be more of a lovers quarrel.
>>29341003
Dash butt makes for best air freshner.
>>29316018
I really kinda hope so.
>>29341818
Do you want to give me a new fetish? Because this is how yow you give me a new fetish.
>>29337222
>definitely a million times better than, ehem, certain episode we all know
Fuck, my phrasing was confusing, by saying this after mentioning shipping it seems that the "bad" episode I was talking about was STFF (which despite the shipping fuel was one of my favorites of the season). That wasn't my intention at all, I tried to say that the comic was a million times better than Newbie Dash. Mostly because the Wonderbolts didn't look like complete jerks for once here.
Anyway, now that the dust has settled and the wound is closed, have any of you thought how could that episode have been better? Honestly, I think that the basic idea (maybe the part that Polsky wrote), wasn't that bad. Rainbow feels bad whenever someone calls her "Crash" and after this episode she proudly embraces the name (Top Bolt, this comic). I think that's great, but for me the episode was terrible because you were supposed to laugh at Rainbow having the worst time of her life (instead of feeling sorry for her like in Tanks for the Memories, for example). It's just so mean-spirited, and not what I expect from this show, at all. I think that removing all the uncalled-for Schadenfreude wouldn't make it a good episode, but at least it would make it way less outrageous.
What do you think?
>>29343566
I just wanted it to focus more on her being so happy over finally achieving her dream, rather than focus on the initiation. That would have drawn the episode out a bit better.
>>29343764
This. The poor girl worked so hard to get there and all they showed (mostly) were her low points and how it was a bit different from what she'd expected. While it would've been lacking in content, I wouldn't have minded a hug fest of happy feels. She deserved it especially with all of her other abuse during the season.
We need to post human rainbow

>>29344325
Too bad her attractiveness reaches negative levels in EqG form.
>>29344381
But EqG is human
>>29344412
Extremely deformed human. Barely human. It's so bad actually, that a good deal of people don't consider them human. But all of this is beside the point.
>>29343764
>>29344088
>focus more on her being so happy
Oh, right. Yeah, I agree, this was another of the low points in the episode, she's only happy like the first minute and the last 20 seconds, and that's quite depressing for an episode dealing with such important achievement. Plus, the scene where she's happy being a janitor was so clumsy that I remember many posts saying that they had broken her. Later we saw that Rainbow is still Rainbow (thank you, Top Bolt), but the fact that we only saw her happy when she was a janitor was definitely a terrible ending.
And, well, of course I'd love an episode where she's happy the whole time, but that's cheating, the idea was to try and fix this mess. I guess that something that could work is making the performance when she fails badly just a training. Then there's the talk when Spitfire nags her, Dash realizes she was wrong, and then we would have a new scene with the real performance, with actual audience, where she is great. Everyone cheers her, now she has a good reason to be happy, the end. Maybe even we could have the actual graduation she never had, right after that. Anyway, we end with this shot. This shot was the best part of the episode. I don't know, something like that.

Has anyone on /dash/ ever told someone else about their love for bluefast? Anyone accidentally reveal it? And most importantly, how does it affect your daily life if at all (overtly or otherwise)?
For me I always jump a little when I hear "dash" in a conversation or somewhere completely out of context. Jump is an overstatement, but it definately catches my attention and dumps my current train of thought.
>>29350241
>Has anyone on /dash/ ever told someone else about their love for bluefast? Anyone accidentally reveal it?
I haven't. Many people I know know I like MLP, and some of them know Rainbow is my favorite, but no one knows that I actually love her. I think something that helped is, there was a long time between when I decided that she was my favorite pony and when I realized that I was in love with her. The fact that those people think that I still like her non-romantically would make any accidental spaghetti look like a joke, so I think I'm fine.
And no, the fact that they know that I like the show doesn't count as spaghetti, I've always been so annoying about all the shows I like that no one gives a fuck anymore.
>how does it affect your daily life if at all (overtly or otherwise)?
It probably affects me more than I realize, but this is one of the most curious effects.
I started watching the show dubbed to my language, and the woman who voices Rainbow here also voices lots of other shows. Whenever the TV is on and I'm not paying attention, if I hear her voice I can't help but to watch and listen to her. It's funny because for me Rainbow's voice is her original voice, and I only hear Ashleigh Ball's voice when I think about Rainbow, but for some reason this "secondary" voice is still deeply linked to Rainbow in my brain.
>>29349201
So is Dragonball GT and that isn't canon.
>>29350241
I've told my internet friends, and a few of my closer irl friends. Pretty sure the irl friends forgot, but internet friends are pretty understanding and even supportive to a point. As for 'jumping', I know exactly what you mean. It happens all the time on mumble when I'm focused on playing something and my friends are talking about something else.
Other than that, other people knowing barely affects my life, though my personal love for her has a much greater affect.
>>29350241
Haven't really said anything about it to any of my friends, but I'm sure some of them have come to that conclusion. They know about my 5 plushies of her and 2 posters and random sketches I get done at conventions of here but they don't know about my daki of her. It's something that they could assume based on her being that I have the most fan created content of her, but I don't really bring her (or the show) up much to them because they absolutly hate it. As for my family, I'm sure back when I lived with my parents they had suspicions. Mostly because they would go into my room and make the bed randomly and would probably find a plush of her in the bed. They've never said anything to me about it though, so either they didn't notice or chose to ignore.
As for personal things that have changed for me it's a pretty good list. I've gotten a lot more confident and more action oriented about my hobbies meaning I don't just sit around and think about what I could do, I go out and do it. I've become slightly more outspoken and forceful with my choices instead of being run over or going with the flow for the sake of not creating ripples. When I hear the word Dash, my attention does get drawn away for a second and I sometimes imagine her hanging out with me when I'm not at home.
>>29350417
I've never told anyone about it and people have no idea that I watch the show. I think that's for the best in my case because telling people wouldn't make me feel any better about it. On top of that, keeping my feelings for her secret makes it feel more special for me.
In terms of how its affected my life: When I lived with my parents and was still in high school they asked me on several occasions if I was gay because I never talked about girls or went on any dates. I attribute that more to my social incompetence at the time, but there definately was also the thought that if I did then I would be betraying Dash. I was going through a difficult time in my life when I fist knew I loved her and I attribute much of my mental recovery to her. Thus my hesitance to date.
I also get what you mean about key words catching your attention. "Dash" is the only triggering one for me partly because that's what I think of her going by.
Probably the biggest affect though has been my motivation. She's given me motivation to get back in shape and succeed in college.
>>29351299
I guess this was meant for >>29350241, but since you replied to my post, I'd like to add something. I think I already posted it a few months ago, but I'm not sure if it was here or in a confessions thread. Anyways.
>When I lived with my parents and was still in high school they asked me on several occasions if I was gay because I never talked about girls or went on any dates.
I can relate to this. Kinda. My dad is very open-minded, and he asked me a few times. "Son, you know you can tell me, if you're gay you don't have to hide it, I'll be proud of you", things like that. Eventually I said, "no, I'm not gay, I don't like boys, but I don't like girls either", and fortunately that was the end of it (I know I'm really lucky to have such a supportive family, I'm not bragging).
The fun part is, that was way long before I even started watching the show. I really didn't feel any kind of "attraction" back then. I guess that it was one of the reasons why, a few years later, it took me so long to realize that I loved Rainbow. I literally hadn't loved anyone before. So, on a deeper level, the biggest effect Rainbow has had on me is, thanks to her I learnt that I can love. And it's something that makes me really happy.

That's really sweet anon. It's amazing the kind of impact the mere idea of a cartoon pony can have on people, myself included.
I feel quite similar to you and I think the love I have for her is more valid and real than anything this world can offer. Sure it hurts to know that I can never be with her, but the feeling I get every time I open my computer and see her face is irreplaceable. The fact that I can have those feelings for a girl I've never touched, a girl in an entirely inaccessible place, is a testament to the power a simple love can have. And I would pity anyone who has never experienced that. Drawfags and writefags let me live my fantasy for a short while and for that I will always be eternally grateful.

Kinda related, I've just read that Buckball Season's writer won't return for season 7. >>29354851
I know some people here complained about Rainbow being a bit OOC in that episode, with her competitiveness pretty much gone and that, but I really liked it anyway, it was so nice to see an episode showing her in such a good light for a change.
I'm a bit worried about season 7 desu.At least we'll have each other, right?
>>29357167
>with her competitiveness pretty much gone and that
I don't think that's really true, she was down to smash Appleloosa from the second she heard it, she just realised Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie were better players and even later mentioned it was humiliating being beat by them, but it was what it was. Though that said actually, it's funny how watching the episode back, it's never really visible that Fluttershy outperforms Rainbow, they both save everything coming their way.
As for Buckball Season's writer not returning, it's a real shame, but a lot of good writers haven't. One of my absolute favourites is Cindy Morrow who I haven't really heard about since S5. If I'm not mistaken though, the Buckball Season writer was new, so we could get some new ones this Season who rock their episodes

>Your cloud perch over Ponyville is sooo comfy...perfect for basking in the late afternoon sun.

>โMs. Dash! Ms. Dash, are you there?โ
>The hammering gets louder.
>What could construction ponies need with you?

โMโhere! Juss a sec!โ

โWhas goinโ on?โ
>The bellhop ponies facing you quickly avert their eyes from your still sleep mussed mane as you rub your eyes with a hoof.
>โMs. Dash, this package just came for you.โ
>โMaximum Priority!โ
>โWe were told to bring it to you as soon as possible!โ

>Trepidation and anticipation war with each other as you quickly take the box into your room.
โStay there a minute, guys!โ
>You set it down and rummage through the piles of your belongings for a few bits and hoof them out the door to the bellhops for a tip.
โThanks for keeping at it. I was dead asleep, but I needed this quick.โ
>They both make smart bows and turn to go with smiles at your generous gratuity.
>You turn the lights on in the room stifling a yawn and glare at the powder-pink box on the bed.
>With a snort you pull the rough twine off the box and lift the lid.
>On top of what looks like a thick wrapping of tissue paper lies a letter sealed with wax bearing an ornate sigil with three diamonds.
>You smirk and break the seal, folding open the heavy parchment.
[Dearest Rainbow Dash, thank you ever so much for your last correspondence. The rest of our little circle were absolutely delighted to hear from you again, as was I. Pinkie in particular keeps pestering me to request some greater detail from you, though I doubt you have much time for writing with all of your fun. Youโll also find enclosed the itemized itinerary of panels and events that you...accidentally left behind. Twilight made me promise, dear. I sincerely hope the event is proving to be everything you had hoped considering how much you spoke of it. As to your needs for a formal nightgown, well, a Lady should refrain from saying I told you so. Suffice it to say that this particular little issue could have been avoided. In any case, I have enclosed a suitable garment for any general formal occasion. Your lack of details made selection a task. Thankfully I insisted on retaking your measurements for your costume. Silver jewelry and white floral arrangements should complement it magnificently, and it will suit even for dancing. Best of luck Darling, and do try to take care of it. Most inseparably yours, Rarity]

>Your eyes practically double at the slew of loopy script covering the page.

>It takes longer than youโd thought.
>Despite the boxโs size the garment inside seems rather small.
>The slippery fabric of light-killing black slips over your hooves like a cool liquid.
>There doesnโt seem to be enough of it for a dress considering Rarityโs style of pleats, frills, and drapery.
>You carefully maneuver it around and find the hem before gently pulling it on over your head.
>The sleek material falls with a whisper over you and you turn to look in the mirror.
>Your eyes widen as your cheeks heat.
>The...the dress...is a snug scrap of deepest black that tightly clings to your body far too noticeably before a short skirt flares out to fall across your hips.
>The cut and stitching is every bit as fine as youโd expect, but...itโs just so clingy.
>You normally donโt even bother with clothes, but this makes you feel more exposed...aware...something.
>But thereโs no time to change it.
>Besides, it doesnโt look bad or anything.
>You quickly flip the skirt over your head and shimmy out of it before carefully laying it out on the bed.
>Itโll be ready for later, itโs not like you need to wear it now.
>Dragging a comb through your mane, you look through the curtains at the early evening sun coming down over the city.
โWell, Iโm awake now. Maybe heโs home.โ
>A quick call to the front desk cancels your wake up call, and you donโt bother to suit up before stepping out with only your saddlebags.
>You flap up the slope of the pyramid to the now familiar level with the high end suites.
>You straighten your shoulders and knock firmly on the door to Anonโs suite.
>โBe right there!โ
>>29359420
>Your head spins a little as relief and anxiety take turns rolling through you.
>Something shifts behind the door, and the peephole darkens.
>โRainbow?โ
>The door opens just wide enough for you to fit through, and you quickly move inside.
>You turn around opening your mouth without knowing quite what youโre going to say.
>โIโm glad youโre here. You can help me with this.โ
>You catch yourself staring a moment.
>Anon closes the door and turns toward you wearing sleek black pants, and a snowy white shirt buttoned up to his neck.
>โIโve been trying to decide on theseโฆโ
>He holds a black bow tie up to his throat first, and then a long, bright red tie of more common type.
>โWhich is better? The tailors just got it all up to me, and Iโd asked for both butโฆwhat?โ
>You realize your mouth is hanging open, and promptly shut it with a click.
โI just...didnโt expect you to be getting ready. So soon.โ
>He nods toward you.
>โYeah, well I didnโt know how long itโd take the tailors to work even with a hefty bonus for speed.โ
>Heโs getting ready! Itโs no problem then!
>Windyโs face seems to flash across your eyes with that half annoyed/half concerned look from earlier.
>You take a deep breath.
โAnon...Iโm sorry I...bullied you earlier.โ
>A wince tightens your mouth before you can master it.
โYou donโt have to come...unless you really want to.โ
>Anon looks past you and moves across the room to sit down, studying his socked feet.
>โEvery timeโฆโ
>You barely catch the half whispered words.
โHmm? Every time?โ
>He looks up to meet your eyes with a serious expression.
>โEvery time I think Iโve got you figured out, you do something unexpected.โ
>You only watch him, unsure how to take that.
>He runs his fingers through his hair and sits back.
>โI felt bad about spying on you. So I was gonna come to this dinner no matter what...butโฆโ
>He shakes his head.
>>29359426
>โI thought, after what you said this morning, that maybe you were just trying to...yโknow...get me to meet your friends and all.โ
>He shrugs.
>โI felt like after all I did spy on you, and you were friendly and nice so maybe I owed you that much, butโฆโ
>He gestures to the pile of heavy, packed luggage in the hall leading to the bedroom of the suite.
>โ...after that, I was planning to go.โ
>You take it all in, working moisture back into your mouth.
โSo...you arenโt now?โ
>He looks at you with a piercing gaze.
>โMaybe. Whyโd you come here? To say that? What made you change your mind?โ
>You flap over to sit across from him, forcing yourself to meet his look squarely.
โHonestly...it was Windsong.โ
>Surprise registers before curiosity and then suspicion.
โIโd told her how we first met. You know...with me kinda...pushing in here?โ
>He nods.
โYeah, so when I told her youโd agreed to come tonight, she wondered, after hearing how you were nervous about ponies, if Iโd been a little too...eager.โ
>Each word feels like youโre digging it out with a blunt spoon, but youโd finally said it all.
>He smiles slowly. That seems like a good sign.
>โAnd you say sheโs my biggest fan?โ
>You nod cautiously.
>โI gotta hand it to you, Rainbow. Youโve got me looking forward to this, a bit.โ
>You let out a breath you hadnโt realized youโd been holding.
โLook, Iโm really sorry I got carried away.โ
>He waves away your apology.
>โItโs all good. At least thereโll be no surprises.โ
>His slightly nervous laugh cuts short as you stiffen, wings ruffling as if to fly away fast.
>โAre you alright, Rainbow?โ
โThereโs...one more thing you should know.โ
>His back stiffens as well.
>โWhat? Whatโs going on?โ
>Heโd find out eventuallyโฆ
โOkay, just...donโt freak outโฆโ
>Your words, so similar to his when you first met, makes you both pause for a moment before laughing softly together.

>The blood drains visibly from his face, and you can see his fingers digging into the cushions of the couch.
>โThat isnโt funnyโฆโ
โIโm sorry I didnโt tell you sooner! It...it normally doesnโt come up, and you were so worried about Princess Celestiaโฆโ
>You trail off as he sways slightly and you quickly jump up and race over to get him a bottle of water from the minibar.
>He accepts it with trembling fingers, and drinks it down in one go.
>โYou...you work...youโre part of that wea-โ
โDonโt call it a weapon!โ
>You immediately try to moderate the heat in your voice.
โItโs not like that.โ
>You make yourself sit down across from him again as he tries to pull himself together.
โTwilight could tell you more...I donโt really know how it works. Itโs just, our friendship. Our friendship coming together to...to hold things back. To stop the worst stuff that tries to hurt Equestria.โ
>โTwilight? As in Princess Twilight?โ
>You nod and he shudders.
โAnon, Iโm telling you thereโs no weapon. No grand conspiracy. If anyponyโd know, I would. Iโm in the Wonderbolts, and an Element of Harmony.โ
>โJust...lemme sit a minute.โ
>You clamp your mouth shut and watch him as he struggles with himself.
>โSo you...and five others...use some kind of magic artifacts to protect Equestria...and you say itโs not a weapon. Celestia doesnโt use it to...control other things, countries?โ
>You snort derisively making him jump.
โSorry. But yeah. Princess Celestia hasnโt ever made us use them or even tried to. It only works when all six of us use it together anyway. And Iโd never do anything like that.โ
>He looks up at you surprised hearing that.
>โIt only works if all of you..?โ
>>29359452
>You nod.
โI told you. Itโs our friendship that makes it work. All of us.โ
>โBut what about Nightmare Moon, and Discord, and that huge magic eating monster?โ
>You wave your hoof at him.
โTirek? Yeah, weโve had to deal with some stuff. But Princess Luna is alright now, Discordโs a friend, and Tirek was sent back to Tartarus.โ
>His eyes bulge.
>โYou s-sent him to Tartarus?โ
โOh, no. That wasnโt us. We stopped him with the Elements after he absorbed all our magic, but he had originally escaped from Tartarus, so thatโs where he went afterward.โ
>He just stares at you.
>โA-and the Crystal Empire?โ
>You shake your head.
โWe were there, but that was all thanks to a big crystal heart powered by love. It stopped Sombra.โ
>You see him silently mouth the words โ...powered by loveโฆโ
โI mean...most of this is known. Maybe the details arenโt, but everypony has heard most of whatโs gone on. Iโm sure when you talk to the othersโฆโ
>His head jerks up.
>โThe others...rightโฆโ
>His eyes take on that piercing look again.
>โWhyโd you tell me all of this?โ
>You shrug.
โItโs not a secret. I donโt think our names have ever been exactly shouted around, but it isnโt all hushed up or anything. Iโm sure the others knew before I even met โem. Youโd find out one way or another, and I figured itโd be better if I just told you.โ

>You return his nod sadly.
โAre you still gonna come tonight?โ
>He pauses, flexing his hands slowly before nodding again.
>โYeah. I think I should. I need...I should talk to these ponies.โ
>You arenโt sure if this change in attitude is positive or not. But itโs something.
โSure, Anon. We all wanna talk. Itโs a few hours yet before the reservation.โ
>He looks up at you quickly, almost his original self again.
>โOh, I got a message from Windsong. She said the reservation is for nine, not eight.โ
>He shuffles over to a writing desk and hands you a sheet of stationary.
>โIt says to let you know too.โ
>You read Windsongโs short message and set it down.
โAnon, I donโt want you to think Iโm...I dunno, trying to manipulate you or something. Iโm gonna go for now, and Iโll meet you for dinner at the restaurant, okay? That way you can talk, and listen, and ask what you want in front of all of us.โ
>His face softens in a grateful smile.
>โOkay Rainbow. Thatโs a good idea. Iโll see you tonight.โ
>You stand up and trot over to the door, pausing as you pull it open to look over your shoulder.
โUse the normal tie, the bowtie doesnโt look as good.โ
>His smile broadens, and the tightness in his eyes lessens as he looks hopeful.
>โYou got it.โ
>The door clicks shut softly behind you as you walk out onto the causeway.
To be continued. Thanks for reading! Comments and criticism are relished and treasured! This is only half of my intended update, so more should be forthcoming fairly soon. Enjoy your weekend!

Glad anon is starting to open up to the fact the elements and the royals in general aren't in some kind of conspiracy.
Happy to see a new chapter, loved it as always.

Nice. I'm saving them on my phone, so this quality is enough for me, thanks.

I loved the reveal. Good update, Rosen, it's good to see that your writer's block is over.

Hey, Church, I hope you read this. It's been one month since your last update. I don't know if you're still working on your green or not, but for what it's worth I'd like to read more. Or, if you don't feel like finishing it, at least write something else.
I mean, if you no longer enjoy writing that's one thing, but please don't stop writing altogether just because you tried something new and it didn't work as expected. I enjoyed your greens and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

The panties version should be safe enough for the board, but I don't want to take risks so I made a "suggestive" version. Original "questionable" version uploaded to

Finally, FYI, a different anon did an alternate version of my previous coloring.

How do you tell dash that you can't wear the flame shirt?
>>29375127
I wear the shit outta that flame shirt. If it'll make her happy, or if the alternative is her sadness, then there may as well not be one. Not to mention other ponies would either not give a fuck or think it's also pretty cool.

This.
>>29375127
>he wouldn't wear a cool flame shirt
>he doesn't want to go to flavortown
what are you? gay?
[TenochtiCon Cont.]
>You sit down outside Anonโs door for a minute letting your thoughts stop jumping around.
>Every time, heโd said.
>Heโs not exactly easy to figure out, himself.
>You shake your head with a rueful smile.
>All because you wanted to make sure nopony was plagiarizing your author friend.
>The table in the castle hadnโt set โfriendship problemsโ this difficult even.
>You huff a small sigh and stand up.
>Twilight is gonna explode when she finds out you were part of a delegation of ambassadors to an alien species.
>You quirk a smile at the thought.
>It sounds so important that way, and yet somehow less intense than what it really is.
>You really want to talk to Windsong, but even racking your brain you know you donโt have much new to say about it all.
>Itโd just be nice to be around a friend.
>Several hours to go, but you donโt feel like going to any of the late panels.
>A quick hop over the railing has you sailing gently down to the swarming lobby.
>The Con is still at itโs normal fever pitch.
>It looks like some sort of contest just ended in the Atrium as a large crowd disperses into the more general scrum.
>You take a seat in a booth at the pub, and order a tall, fizzy tropical drink.
>From your vantage point itโs easy to sit back comfortably and watch the unending flow of fans heading in every direction.
>All of Equestria is represented here as well as every facet of Daring Do fandom alongside some stuff you donโt recognize at all.
>>29375688
>One pony is dressed up in a perfect likeness of Princess Celestia.
>Perfect, if the young mare werenโt a quarter of the rulerโs size.
>That flowing mane just has to be some kind of magical effect.
>You watch with a smile as ponies in costume stop to take photos every few steps, inwardly praising yourself for leaving yours behind this evening.
>Weariness from earlier starts to creep back over you as you sip your drink and watch lazily.
>Ponies walking around holding โFree Hugsโ signs...whatโre โFree Boopsโ?
>A hoof gently shakes your shoulder.
>โRainbow? Rainbow Dash, cโmon hon. You canโt sleep here.โ
>The soft, familiar voice makes your mind climb out of the comfortable fog of sleep.
>Wait, sleep?
>You leap up, wings flung outward in startlement.
โGah! I fell asleep!โ
>Half formed fears of missing the dinner fall away as your eyes meet Windsongโs.
>Wearing her security badge and ConSec marked saddlebags, your friend bites her lip to keep from laughing out loud.
>โYou...you got a little somethingโฆโ
>Her whole body shakes as she gestures toward her own mouth.
>You quickly scrub a hoof across your face smearing away drool from your cheek, and try not to look too abashed.
โWindsong! What time is it? Did Iโฆ?โ
>She calms you with a soothing gesture and slides into the booth across from you.
>โNo, youโre fine Dash. I got a call on the radio that youโd passed out in the pub. Attendees arenโt allowed to sleep in any public areas, but the guards knew you were my friend so they called me to take care of it.โ
>You wince, but she just waves it away as she pulls your drink over to herself for a long sip.
>โItโs no problem, of course. Day two of the Con, ponies drop off all over the place on the regular. Itโs half what Iโve been doing all day, waking โem up and sending โem on their way. You should probably get a nap before tonight, though.โ
>>29375702
>You watch the ice cubes in your glass slowly lower to the bottom as she finishes off your tasty spritzer.
โThanks, Windy. Sorry anyway. I didnโt mean to fall asleep. Still thirsty? I can order you another one.โ
>You layer as much sarcasm in the last bit as you can while trying not to giggle.
>โI said itโs no problem, Dash. Ah! Nah, this was just perfect.โ
>She noisily slurps at the bottom of the glass with the straw.
>You roll your eyes and lean back comfortably.
โWell, I talked to Anon again. Just before I came here.โ
>You grin as her eyes snap up to yours, widening, before she masters herself again.
>โOh? Did you pick out his clothes and tell him how to sit and act this evening?โ
>Your face colors slightly, but it was only a tie!
>โBy Celestia, Rainbow! You didnโt really, did you?โ
โNO!โ
>Your blush deepens as you hear the loud denial in your own ears.
โNo! Really no! I didnโt, I swear!โ
>Windsong looks caught somewhere between exasperated amusement, and chiding older sister.
>โDash! You know heโs-โ
โI know I know! I didnโt! Really. I went up to talk to him about earlier. I told you I kinda cornered him into coming, and I told him that wasnโt right and that he didnโt have to come if he didnโt want to.โ
>She stiffens in her seat.
>โWhatโd he say to that?โ
>You flag down a waiter to bring two more drinks as Windsong taps her hoof impatiently.
โHe was surprised I admitted it, and seemed kinda happy that I wasnโt pushing him if he didnโt want to anymore. Heโs still coming, though. Said he felt bad about spying so he was gonna come anyway, but now he really wants to.โ
>She fixes you with an unreadable gaze.
>โSpying?โ
>Your eyes widen.
โOh, um...yeah.โ
>You fiddle with the swizzle stick on the table and look around for the waiter.
>โRainbow Dash!โ
>>29375708
โRrraah! Okay! He...sort of...came down to the party at the pool last night. He sneaked around and listened to see if I was gonna start blabbing about him to my friends since Iโd told him you were huge fans.โ
>She stares a moment more and nods before looking thoughtful.
>โBut you didnโt...you wouldnโt tell us anything about him. Thatโs the whole reason we came up with the dinner idea.โ
>You nod quickly and drain half the glass passed to you by the waiter.
โRight! Thatโs why he was so willing to go earlier. He felt bad for...doing that.โ
>She nods thoughtfully and peers into her own glass before sipping slowly.
โReally, Windsong, he felt bad. He apologized for being paranoid and everything! I was all set to convince him to come, but I thought I had an in since he was so sorry. I know I messed up there, but I apologized now too, and he really wants to come, so please donโt be mad!โ
>Her head jerks up and she gives you a bewildered expression.
>โMad? Oh, no Iโm not mad about that. How did he get passed my security though? Guess Iโll have to add that to the list of stuff to ask him, huh?โ
>You stare at her.
โYou arenโt mad he spied on us?โ
>She smirks and takes another long drink.
>โRainbow, you said he was a paranoid hermit obsessed with anonymity. I didnโt think of it before, but of course he spied on us. Iโm glad he knows itโs not a good thing. Wouldnโt want him to become a stalker or something.โ
>You shake your head in disbelieving acceptance.
โWell, thatโs...good then.โ
>Windy finishes her drink and licks an ice cube out of the glass to munch on as she stands up.
>โI gotta get back to my rounds. My shift is up in an hour, and then I gotta get ready. If youโre gonna fall out in a pub with a thousand strangers you should probably take a quick nap before you get ready too.โ
>>29375718
>You stand up too and pull her into a quick hug.
โOkay, Iโll head back up. See you in a while.โ
>You and Windsong part and fly off.
>She heads toward the front entrance, and yourself back up to your roomโs level.
>You arenโt sure Windy was completely forthcoming about the whole spying thing, but she seems to have it under control just like everything else.
>Another wakeup call ordered from the desk, and you curl up on the large bed beside your dress box.
>This is gonna be interesting.
--------------------------------------------
>After a gratingly cheery wakeup call nearly three hours later, you trot out of the bathroom toweling off from your hot shower.
>You feel much better now.
>Drying and brushing your mane should be plenty, and you donโt have the time or desire to visit a stylist.
>Remembering the unrelieved black of the nightgown you roll your eyes and dial the conciergeโs desk.
>โJa, Ms. Dash. How may ve be hof service?โ
>A few grumbled words orders what you want, and you go back to brushing out your mane and coat.
>Half an hour later, as you look yourself over in the mirror still trying to convince yourself that your dress doesnโt emphasize more than it covers, a knock sounds at the door.
>Opening it, you find a bellhop holding a small, clear plastic box.
>โYour corsage, Ms. Dash.โ
>You take the box, and hoof over the bits for your purchase.
>The little box contains a large, red rose blossom surrounded by a spray of tiny white flowers.
>Trotting carefully over to the mirror, you pin the sweet smelling ornament over your left shoulder.
>You turn around a few times in front of the mirror to see yourself from different angles before suddenly stopping in realization of what youโre doing.
>Refusing to look at the mirror again you tuck your room key under your wing and head out the door.
>You have to ride the elevator to reach the restaurant, separated as it is from the resort proper.
>>29375725
>Besides, flying would probably wrinkle the dress.
>Though that isnโt why you donโt fly, of course.
>You ignore the open, gaping stares from many of the other Con patrons as you ride slowly upward.
>They donโt have to make fun of you like that, sheesh.
>You step out onto the observation level halfway up the pyramid and follow the long, central walkway leading out of the front side.
>There arenโt any rooms on this level, only large open areas with tables and chairs, and huge picture windows all the way around showing the sparkling city around.
>Your walkway leads to an open skybridge that leads out over the resortโs entry patio.
>Suspended hundreds of feet above the ground, seeming to float at the end of the bridge is a large, shining black, stepped diamond shaped building.
>The Kingโs Chamber is one of the hottest dining spots in all of Las Pegasus.
>Tall gilded, black braziers crackle with flames on either side of the wide entrance.
>You make yourself start moving again after staring a moment to take in the sight.
>Complex drum beats and weaving flutesโ music wafts from within along with the smells of a dozen different mouth watering dishes.
>You take a deep breath and walk inside.
>The host pony looks you over with a discerning eye before giving a slight nod.
>โWelcome to the Kingโs Chamber. I am your host this evening, Servus Sol. May I inquire as to your reservation?โ
โIโm Rainbow Dash. Hornshine has the reservation.โ
>He blinks at you before checking his ledger with a perfunctory glance.
>โYes, Ms. Dash. Youโve been expected. Your party is already waiting. Please follow me.โ
>You walk around the small podium and into the restaurant proper following your dapper escort.
>>29375735
>The dining area is a large square with tiers following the exterior shape of the stepped diamond building.
>Gold, silver, enamel and lacquer work shine from every surface.
>The room is decorated to resemble some ancient kingโs hoard of wealth, and it goes beyond even that in your opinion.
>Gilt carvings and friezes decorate the edges of tables.
>Statues, masks, pottery, weapons, and armors stand around everywhere, even artfully heaped in some places.
>In one corner a quintet of tribally painted ponies skillfully play a large collection of drums and flutes, both ranging in size from smaller than your hoof to big enough to crawl into.
>Gauzy silk skeins hang from the ceiling in a dozen colors draping in such a way that the room seems full of bright color and warmth among the treasures while giving each individual table its privacy.
>You take it all in as finely dressed wait staff waft back and forth bearing trays of scrumptious looking delights and the soft murmur of countless conversations wash over you.
>Sol leads you on a winding path around the tables and you catch half seen glimpses of ponies behind the silks screening, noticing that you actually look...not out of place here.
>โHere you are, Ms. Dash. Please, make yourself comfortable, and enjoy the hospitality of the Kingโs Chamber.โ
>You snap your head around as Sol pulls back a sheer length of hanging to reveal a large, round table where Hornshine and Windsong sit chatting softly.
โHey guys!โ
>You trot happily up to the table and drop into a seat across from them.
>They both stop talking and stare wide eyed at you.
โGuys?โ
>They both jump slightly and look at each other before looking up and away quickly.
>Why in Equestria are they blushing?
>Hornshine winces with a grunt as Windsong hoofs his shoulder harder than seems friendly before speaking up.
>โHi, Dash. Um, you look...really nice.โ
>โAhum...really nice, yeah.โ
>Hornshine rubs his shoulder as he grimaces at Windy.
>>29375749
โYou guys donโt have to sugar coat it. It was a last minute thing! I had to have something if I wanted to be let in, right?โ
>Hornshine is wearing a smart looking, short, black blazer with a finely knotted gray cravat, and Windy looks like a whole different pony in lilac folds of silk with her mane styled in thick curls.
>Windsongโs eyes bulge slightly.
>โHyeah...last minute, huh?โ
>Hornshine is grinning evilly at her and she looks ready to hit him again.
>You look back and forth between them, confused.
โWell, yeah. I didnโt think Iโd need anything like this. Itโs always such a hassle too. It took almost an hour to get ready!โ
>Hornshine chokes into his drink, snorting his fizzy juice all over the table.
>His marefriend smacks his back as he struggles to breathe with a dangerous glare in her eyes.
>You order a drink from a passing waiter to take your attention from your insane friends.
>When you look back Hornshine is smiling happily at her as she uses a napkin to wipe off the table with a small smile on her face.
โSo have you guys already ordered yet? I guess weโre still waiting for Anonโฆโ
>Windy nods.
>โHeโs not here yet, so we havenโt ordered anything but drinks.โ
>Hornshine raises his empty glass to signal a waiter.
>โThey have some really great appetizers though, if you want something sooner.โ
>You look over the menu as Hornshine gets his drink refreshed and chat back and forth with them about which dishes you should try.
>โHere we are, Mr. Anonymous.โ
>The dry voice of the host pony, even dryer saying Anonโs name, brings a quick hush to your party.
>The silk is drawn aside by a gleaming hoof to reveal the guest of honor.
>Anon steps into the table area with a very nervous smile on his face, holding a white square of lace-edged handkerchief that he uses to quickly wipe his face before nodding to each of you.
>He looks pretty awesome in a close fitting black suit nearly as dark as your dress.
>>29375760
>That matched by the blizzard white shirt youโd seen earlier, and the shiny red tie youโd suggested fastened with a silver tie pin.
>Realizing that the silence had gone longer than would be comfortable for anypony, you quickly stand up and walk around to stand next to him.
โHornshine, Windsong, this is my friend Anonymous.โ
>You turn to look up at him.
โAnon, these are my friends Hornshine and Windsongโ
>You gesture at the two staring ponies.
>His face twitches as he looks over them, but his smile doesnโt look so painfully fixed.
>โH-hi. Hello, Hornshine.โ
>He gives a small bow.
>โHi, Windsong. Iโm...j-just call me Anon.โ
>Windsong gives a small squeak and sways in her chair.
>Her coltfriend quickly wraps a hoof around her shoulder and waves a napkin in her face.
>He looks apologetically at Anonโs stricken face.
>โSorry, Anon. Sheโs just a really big fan. Sheโs been looking forward to this...a lot.โ
>Windsong shakes free of Hornyโs hoof and stands up to walk around in front of Anon.
>She shifts from hoof to hoof, looking around behind Anon, up at the ceiling, and back over her shoulder at Hornshine.
>Anon looks at you fearfully, but you just give him a confident smile and a nod.
>โUm...Anon...sweet Sun! Iโm never like this! Just, COULD I PLEASE HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPH?โ
>She scrunches her eyes closed and quickly holds out a small booklet and pen.
>Anon jumped a foot into the air when she suddenly shouted the last bit out all in a rush, but with a hand over his chest and breathing a little hard, his smile becomes real for the first time youโd seen outside of his rooms.
>โSure, Windsong. Here..โ
>He takes the book and pen from her, and flips it open making her open one eye to study him cautiously.
>โHere you go, โTo my dearest Windsong. Thank you. -Anonymousโ. That alright?โ
>She carefully takes the book back from him as if it might shatter in an instant.
>โThatโs perfect. Thank you so much!โ
>>29375775
>You smile wryly at the two of them and look over at Hornshine who returns your expression with a shrug.
โSoooo, you guys wanna sit down?โ
>They both start and look around quickly.
>โYeah, um...sorry.โ
>โOf course! Geez, Dash. Way to make it awkward.โ
>You laugh at Windsongโs quickly regained composure and gesture to the seat next to yours for Anon.
>Anon sits gingerly at the edge of his seat and rests his elbows on the table.
>You seat yourself as well and hoof him a menu before looking around for a waiter.
>โThat's a really nice dress, Rainbow.โ
>You roll your eyes and look past him, holding your hoof in the air to get a passing serverโs attention.
โLate to the party, Anon. Everyponyโs already given me guff about my stupid dress.โ
>Anon stares at you.
>โWhat? No, real-โ
>โDon't bother, Anon. She doesn't see it.โ
>Hornshine cuts him off gently while stirring his bright red cocktail with a stalk of celery.
>You have no idea what they're talking about, but you're not about to let them know that.
โHa, yeah. Classic me, am I right?โ
>Windsong busies herself by attempting to drown in her coffee.
>Shortly, everyone orders their food and more drinks.
>โSo, Anonโฆโ
>Hornshine speaks up between snacking on wine sautรฉed mushrooms with ricotta.
>โ...tell us about yourself. We've heard very little despite how much Rainbow talks about you. Me and Windy here are locals. And we've been helping keep the Con together since it started.โ
>Anon toys with his spoon for a moment as Windy nods encouragingly.
>โWell, I'm what's called a human. I guess that's first. I'm from a different place. A different world.โ
>He shrugs self consciously.
>โThe details are a bit hazy after all this time. But the short version is that I woke up one day, and I wasn't in bed. I was in the middle of a meadow by a road.โ
>Windsongโs eyes pop.
>โWow...just like that? Scary.โ
>Anon nods, and you nudge his drink toward him.
>>29375790
>He takes a drink with a grateful smile.
>โI had no idea where I was. I followed the road, and I came to a town. Suburbs. Near Manehattan.โ
>He hunches his shoulders.
>โI'd never seen talking ponies before. I thought I was going crazy. They thought it was a monster attack.โ
>He shakes his head and drains his glass.
>โThe details aren't important. I ran away, but rumors were quicker. Everywhere I went had heard stories of the Screaming Hairless Ape and I'd no sooner get near a group of ponies than get chased off.โ
>He stirs his lentil and potato stew around with a distant look in his eyes, not even seeing the waiter refreshing his sweet tea.
>โMost of the time. Sometimes...I guess I looked so pathetic. I was hungry a lot back then. Some farm ponies out in the country would give me a meal, or a place to sleep for the night. Like a hayloft, or under the chicken coop. A few even gave me some money when I left and wished me good luck. But it was always clear that I was supposed to leave.โ
>Windsong reaches out to take Hornshineโs hoof, and he holds it and pats it comfortingly.
>Anon dips a torn off piece of roll in his stew and chews it thoughtfully.
โAnd that's when you found Griffonstone, right?โ
>He looks at you as if suddenly remembering where he is.
>โOh, yeah. That's right.โ
>He shrugs and looks at the other two, pausing to give them a small smile of comfort.
>โI'm probably making it sound worse than it really was. I was fourteen. And I guess it could've been a lot worse. The Griffons barely looked at me twice. As long as I could pay my way, they were satisfied.โ
>Windsong leans forward.
>โIs that when you started to write?โ
>You mentally bless your friend as Anonโs demeanor becomes less dark and he seems to relax.
>>29375807
>โYeah. I figured my world had a lot of stuff to offer like music and fiction. It took a while to find my niche, but I started adapting adventure novels I loved to be about Daring Do. Most of the details had to be rewritten, but the major plot points are mostly the same.โ
>He seems not to notice Windyโs shocked look as he focuses on eating and talking more animatedly.
>Your brain races to think how to help Windy deal with this little fact you'd never considered before.
>Hornshine just looks at you sternly.
>โThe experience has been invaluable. After the first few, since the stories started to deviate more and more, I had to make more and more of it up myself. The ones I released last year are the first that are, like, ninety nine percent me. Now I just use themes and basic concepts of the genre. It's not as hard as you'd think.โ
>Windy and Hornshine both look up at that, and you breathe easier.
>โSo, itโs all original work now?โ
>Windyโs question makes your wings ruffle nervously.
>Anon shrugs.
>โAs original as it can be. I mean, I'm using a character from another series, and themes from pulp adventure serials, but yeah, the stories are mine.โ
>Windy gives Hornshine a knowing thump on his foreleg as if chide him for being worried.
>Horny just rolls his eyes.
>โYour newer works are definitely your best. It's all steadily improved over the years, but I finally started reading you last year. I was only mildly interested before because of Windy here.โ
>Windsong hugs her autograph book to her chest before returning to her quiche.
>โAmplitudeโs going to spit!โ
>You turn to grin at Anon.
โHe's another friend of theirs. So, you feeling alright?โ
>Anon stops in the act of wiping out his empty bowl with the rest of the roll.
>He smiles back. Warmly!
>โYeah. I feel okay. Yโknow...the semi privacy helps, butโฆโ
>He looks at Windy and Hornshine.
>>29375819
>โYou guys are just...I'm glad I came.โ
>He shrugs again, embarrassed.
>Windsong smiles back and Hornshine offers a hoof bump that Anon clumsily returns.
>You feel muscles unknotting that you hadn't realized were tight as you finally relax a bit.
>Shortly, your entrรฉes appear, and you all share some light chatter about Daring Do and your favorite parts of various stories.
>As time moves you on to a dessert of chocolate drizzled, hot cherry pies made individually in tiny crocks, Anon looks up a bit nervously at the other two.
>โI have a question for you, if you don't mind.โ
>You're pretty sure this is the hurdle you've been anticipating, and your friends quickly assure Anon he can ask whatever he wants.
>โWell, what do you know about...the Elements of Harmony?โ
>They both look questioningly at you before Windsong looks slowly sideways back at Anon.
>It takes serious effort to school your face to neutrality to give away nothing.
>โWweeeell...Rainbowโd know more about that than anypony. She's the Element of Loyalty.โ
>Anon nods seriously as she speaks.
>โShe told me. I meant more...you've seen all the crazy stuff happening these last few years. Doesn't it seem like Cele...like Equestria is, i dunno, expanding its influence?โ
>Windsong looks at her coltfriend for help.
>โWhat, like creating an empire or something? Cโmon, Anon. Luna knows, if she had any ideas like that she'd have started it a few hundred years ago don't ya think?โ
>Hornshine grins and gestures with his hoof.
>โI mean, why wait til now?โ
>>29375827
>Anon idly takes a bite of his little pie.
>โI see what you mean, but she's not really a thousand years old, of course. I've heard ponies talk about her thousand years of peace, but that's just a sayin-โ
>He cuts off and looks around the table at the dumbfounded looks coming from all of you.
>โWhat?โ
>This human is completely off his rocker.
โYou think it's just a saying? Anon. She's really ruled Equestria for over a thousand years. She's an Alicorn.โ
>You smile wonderingly at his stunned look, and Hornshine speaks up.
>โDid you think Princess Luna being her sister was just another saying? Because they're both royals?โ
>Anon nods mutely.
>Horny chuckles as Anon tries to absorb this information.
>โI'd always wondered why an ancient ruler like her didn't supplant Celestia after returning. But if Luna really is her younger sisterโฆโ
>โIt makes more sense now right? And it's โPrincessโ Luna, Anon.โ
>Hornshineโs light hearted rebuke brings a grin to Anonโs face as Windsong smirks.
>โOf course! Millennial Diarchs benevolently ruling a magical kingdom of colorful ponies. I don't know why I ever doubted.โ
>You all chuckle at his amused consternation.
>โSheโs not perfect, Anon.โ
>Windy nods at his words and jumps in.
>โAnd nopony expects her to be. Quite apart from controlling the Sun and Moon, before Princess Luna returned anyway, she's actually pretty good at it.โ
>The look on Anonโs face makes you think maybe he doubted that story too.
>You poke him in the ribs, making him jump.
โIf you don't believe it Anon, I know a Princess or two pretty well. I'll bet Princess Celestiaโd make it do a few figure eights if you asked real nice!โ
>You can't help but to laugh at the surprised look on his face.
>He relaxes back again, and runs his fingers through his hair.
>โNo thanks, Rainbow. No Princesses yet, please.โ
>Everyone laughs at that, and the dessert portion goes by without incident.
>>29375831
>Finally, as everyone cleans the last bits away you offer to walk back in with Anon.
>Hornshine and Windy both say good night, speaking their intention to stay for some dancing, and you and Anon quietly walk out into the warm night air.
>โThat was...unexpectedly nice, Rainbow. Thanks.โ
>You yawn widely, but still manage to smile at him as you enter the pyramid.
โSo, think you might stick around for the rest of the Con?โ
>He thinks a moment, and nods.
>โYeah, that sounds like it could be fun.โ
>You thump his hip as you approach the elevators.
โGood! Cause you owe me for walking out on my super generous spa day.โ
>He smiles, but looks a bit nervous trying to avoid the curious looks from the other ponies queuing for the elevator.
>โHah, you got it, Rainbow. I'll think of...of something.โ
>The doors open, and he rushes inside.
>You quickly follow, and apologizing you firmly tell the others to wait for the next one. Your friend is feeling ill.
>After the doors slide closed you turn to see Anon leaning his head on the cool glass at the back of the elevator.
>โSorry, R-rainbow...I-โ
>You pat his side and smile comfortingly as you quickly rise up to his floor.
โNo need to be sorry. You're doing well. It's not gonna get better all at once.โ
>Again he gives you that grateful smile and heaves a sigh.
>โYeah. Baby steps, right?โ
>You nod and lead him out to his door.
โHere ya go! Safe and sound. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?โ
>He fumbles his key into the lock and nods an assent.
>โOh, and Rainbow?โ
>You turn to look curiously.
>โYou really do look great tonight. I don't think the others were kidding either.โ
>Heat flushes your cheeks and you quickly turn away.
โI always look awesome, Anon! I'm used to ponies lookinโ at me!โ
>You hear a soft chuckle and the click of his door closing.
>>29375841
>Peering back over your shoulder you see he's gone in.
>You let out a long breath and flick your tail as you prepare to glide out over the rail, nice dress or no.
>What does he know, anyway?
>You quickly swoop down to your own door several levels below.
>Even with your earlier naps, your activities are piling up on you.
>You push your door open and drag into your room feeling like each step adds a hundred pound weight to your back.
>You collapse across your bed, wondering if it's possible to sleep in the dress without ruining it.
>โTook you long enough. Wow, Rainbow. Never thought you'd wear something so...slinky~!โ
>The familiar voice out of nowhere makes you yelp and leap into the air.
>In a shadowed corner, a shape stirs and leans forward into the lamplight.
>Her safari hat tilts back revealing a vindictive smile and fierce eyes.
>โIโm here to deal with a thieving scumbag, I thought you might be down to help!โ
>Your eyes bulge as you stare at her open mouthed.

Comeon dudes, are you telling me you wouldn't have the backbone and wit to make it out of that conversation alive?
>>29376244
It's not that I can't, it's that it's not a 100% chance that I won't offend or disappoint her. I prefer a tiny chance of someone talking about me behind my back over a somewhat larger chance of disappointing or offending the love of my life.
Basically, I have no reason not to wear the shirt, and a very compelling reason to wear the shirt like a man.
>>29377056
>No reason not to wear it.
>Not liking the design.
Seriously, if you would just talk about it to her and say it isn't really your style, but when you return it the two of you can go shopping together for something that does fit you and is cool as fuck, I'm sure she wouldn't be overly mad/upset. Why wear something you don't like when you could make a fun trip together and get something you both like? It seems stupid to semi-begrudgingly wear something instead of communicating your disinterest and working together to come to an agreeable solution. You know communication is important in relationships, right?
>>29377121
>implying I don't like the design
Call me a faggot, but in horseland, where human fashion is unheard of and thus not judged, I would wear that every day. I'd be willing to bet a good few ponies would even think it cool, seeing as they either don't wear clothes, or they wear fancy stuff.
Now if I really didn't like it, and it would actually cause me distress and embarrassment in public, then I would probably talk it out.

>>29377193
The problem is we have to take some assumptions about the pony world. It's been shown that it follows our world pretty closely in terms of fasion, style, building, etc. With that in mind, I will agree that the flame shirt gets a bad rep because of those who wear it, but if we are to believe that it mirrors our world to a pretty good degree, I'd guess that it isn't too much different there. Rarity would probably find it garrish and with that in mind so would most of the horse world. I can't make any argument against your own interests and taste in fashion because that would be a moot point, but most of the Anons I quoted seemed to be wearing it for the wrong reasons.
>>29375333
I'd wear that shirt to my grandmothers funeral if she got it for me as a gift.

>>29395915
Maybe? She's good at handling clouds, and she's the only pony in Ponyville with a Cloudsdale-style cloudhouse. She seems qualified to at least build the foundation herself.
The interior probably isn't built by her though. Lots of marble statues and tiling and stuff that she probably didn't make herself. Considering her custom bedsheets and Wonderbolt statues, she's not afraid to drop serious cash on her house.
Hey guys, I need some advice.
I didn't ask for permission to upload to Derpi the edit I did yesterday, because I thought it'd be nice if it was a surprise, but Captain doesn't like it at all. He doesn't want to report it, but I feel bad and I think that it's unfair that now there's something he doesn't like in his artist tag.
I was going to report it myself, but trying to figure out why he doesn't want to report it, I thought that maybe his reason is, if the image gets deleted that will make him look like a killjoy or whatever, I don't know. Am I too paranoid? Should I report it anyway? I don't know what to do. I'm a bit overwhelmed, I just tried to do something fun and I've started a mini drama.
>>29399484
If he doesn't like it then I reckon you should take it down, you didn't necessarily do anything wrong but it's best if we just leave him to post his own edits you know?

Finally catching up on the show. Just finished the song in Tanks For the Memories.
Teared up.
This borderline-literally-retarded from sheer degree of devotion to her friendships is at least fifty percent of what makes me so obsessed with her.The next 50% is because so many other ponies, they're fine where they are. Rainbow Dash, she obviously needs something else. Why else would she have to build up such a lurid shell of boasting and self-esteem?
The remaining 20% is that she is the most aesthetically appealing pony; those eyes....

I really liked that episode. I don't like seeing Rainbow sad, but that episode felt respectful, and I appreciated that a lot. Plus, it was great to see her first solo song.
If you're catching up, I feel like I have to say this for when you finish season 5. Season 6 had a few really bad episodesincluding the worst episode ever made, but try not to give them too much importance. I did it, and because of that I barely could enjoy the rest of the season, and there were some really good episodes too. I know it's a stupid advice, I don't know if it would have helped me, but I feel I had to say it.

I try to roll with the punches. Right from the start they've always been mixed.
"Season 4 on is bad fanfiction" is such a dumb meme.
Though so far I could buy "season 5 is fanfiction" (mostly good though).
I wouldn't say I dislike Rainbow being sad, though mostly because I want to help. Her vulnerabilities are is part of what pulls me towards her.
I've definitely already snipped her song section out of the episode to watch repeatedly on its own.
>>29407322
Season 4 was reasonable. Season 5 started to veer off into another direcrion. The main 6 lost the spotlight and it became a new horse-of-the-week kind of show. The plots started to center around these secondary, one-off ponies and the building of the background instead of what the main 6 were doing. It wasn't about their life anymore. Season 6 dropped most of the map stuff but instead had a bunch of episodes eaten by Glimmer. Season 6 had THE worst Dash episodes. 28 Pranks had no redeeming qualities and Newbie Dash flubbed a lot of shit up. Why would they have her deal with her issues in a different way that she was shown to in the past when she thought people were making fun of her. Instead of becoming the brash over-the-top showoff like she tried to do in the second half, they had her adopt her friends personalities for a stupid bit. Even when it comes to the second half, Dash would not have put her friends at risk (Scootaloo) just to show off and become top dog to get people to shut up. Just look at Wonderbolt Academy for an example of that. As for secondary or shared episodes, I feel like she could have been a bit better in Flutter Brother, but I understand not wanting her to seem like she's doing more for him that Fluttershy, his sister. She could have had a much bigger role in showing him how to find his passions or help him gain motivation from his passions, as she does from the Wonderbolts.
>>29407433
I agree completely and it affected me more than I'd like to admit. What I tried to say is, because of these episodes, when I watched an episode I liked my thoughts were usually "I really liked this episode. It was good. Why couldn't the other episodes be like this? God, those other episodes were terrible." And I ended up dwelling on the episodes I hated instead of thinking in the episode I enjoyed.
This isn't about forgiving bad writers who gave zero fucks when they were writing their episodes, fuck them, this is about not letting those idiots "ruin" the good episodes too. I know this sounds stupid to the people who have a different mindset, but I also know that a few people on this board who hated season 6 had a similar problem, and it took me a really long time to realize that I was doing this.
>>29410093
How did you feel about the one episode I forgot to include in that rant, the one about the daring do convention?
>>29412443
Probably too anthro for this christian board.
>>29412290
I feel kinda sorry for saying this, but I loved it. I know that certain headcanon about that episode ruined it for some people but the canon part, the only part that should matter, was about Rainbow doing something she enjoys, meeting her hero again, having an adventure like those in the books she loves and making a new friend. All that was great. Plus, this was like 2 or 3 weeks episodes after Newbie Dash, I really needed to see her having a good time (no double entendres) and I loved it.
If you didn't like it, I'm sorry I can't be of any help here. The best I can say is, I know you're not alone.
>>29412856

Why pet Dash? Are you a waifu-er or just like her the most out of all ponies? If you are a waifu-er, what makes you want a pet Dash over a Dash who is at the same level that you are?
>>29420893
I'm pretty sure its just a fetish or something. I think its the same mentality as to why some people tend to like cat girls a lot. Seeing someone act like a pet can really strike that "aawww that's cute!" nerve in our bodies.
>>29420909
I never understood that mentality, but I guess some people must find it nice to be on top sometimes, whether it's an act or not.
>>29420893
It's not a matter of domination. Petting a lover is common irl too. When you're that close to someone so intimately you have to understand that just touching them and running your hands and fingers over them is an indescribable enjoyment. Yes it does display a sort of ownership, but not the sort that devalues the other. Hugging and cuddling is wonderful but sometimes you just want to run your fingers through their hair, touch their face, stroke their arm. And it feels great when they do it to you too. It's thrilling and intimate in a wholly different way. To know a person by touch is something valuable beyond my ability to communicate. It's priceless.
>>29422065
I think you made a mistake. I was referring to the idea of treating a love as a pet, not the act of petting. There is nothing wrong with petting as its just another form of touch and showing closeness and is even close to something like a stroke. Why do you think there's a term out there that's semi common called heavy petting?
My issue is with the idea that you want to treat your lover as someone more simple and beneath you in intelligence, stature, and importance. I know it's mostly a fetish/bedroom type things, but I've seen plenty on non-bedroom based picks of Dash and others as being treated like animals or pets.
>>29420893

keep it bumped for the writefags guys
Hey guys I was just checking the catalog and I found some people talking about an old, old Rainbow Dash general that drifted around during the great hiatus of 2013, something like Low Self-Esteem Dash or Ugly Dash or something, the basic idea was:
>Rainbow Dash isn't attractive
>At least not to ponies
>Her eye color
>Her rainbow mane and tail caused by some rare genetic defect
>Her muzzle is just a little to short
that sort of thing, here are some of the old pastebins from there if anyone's interested as well:
Dr. Tran- http://pastebin.com/XcKXNp5a
Dirt Muffin- http://pastebin.com/tMwmbgzz

>>29425370
Well it's sort of like with the Flutterrape, or the Twilight abuse of Anonfilly, it doesn't make much sense but it could make for an interesting idea
>>29425575
Also don't forget half the stories here don't follow the "canon personality", I mean when has Dash ever shown any interest in men or romance.
>>29425583
It's generally okay to alter a character's traits in a way you like, but not in a way you dislike.
>>29425304
I'm not a fan of the idea at all. And I don't understand what you want desu. Is this an invitation to visit the other thread, or do you want to bring here new people who don't give a fuck about Rainbow but want to read stories where she's ugly?
>>29425693
I'm not really sure, really I just find insecure Dash kind of cute is all
>>29425356
Nah, the edges of her are too pointy for me on that one. This is the one I have.
>>29425370
How is wondering/having the pony society view Dash as unattractive going against cannon? The only two ponies we've been showen as attractive to the pony populous at large are Rarity and Fluttershy. Otherwise we have no idea how they feel about the main 6 looks-wise. Dash could easily still be her brash strong self with a high ego in those stories and nothing would change with her personality. I'm not saying I endorse stories where Dash runs home and cries, but I could see her avoid certain confrontations after voicing her opinion on them or getting into fights with someone who did call her ugly. The fics should really come down to Anon not understanding what beauty is, off handedly or directly complementing Rainbow on her looks, and her not knowing how to handle it. She's been showen to get confused when things don't go the way she expects and doesn't really have many responses in turn to the events that fold out and that could make for some good stories.
>>29425860
this does look better
I'm currently looking for MLP dakis but there doesn't seem to be a lot of assortment besides ratofponi's Twilight and some ebay designs
>>29425922
I actually got that one off ebay. I'm not sure what happened to the seller or if he just moved on to a different design after finishing selling the two he had. I do know there are a few custom sites that will take the images you want and do the cleanup work for you when it comes to pixelation from blowing up the image. I used hobbyheart for a friend's bachelor party gag gift and it came out really well, so if you need a suggestion I would maybe try there. Does it really affect you that much? If I start adding nostrils to HeavyMetalBronyYeah's pics, would you like them more? Because I love this style, and if it only takes two lines for you to like it too, it's a small price to pay.

Are you serious? No wonder Dashfags are seen as some of the worst in the fandom, when we're lumped together with the likes of you.
It's one of her strongest defining character traits, and the area she's grown the most in.
As early as Sonic Rainboom we learn that her tough exterior is a very fragile facade she keeps up to pretend she's on top of things. Dash and Fluttershy were both bullied as children and it left similar deep-running scars in them, but they dealt with their issue in diametrically opposite ways, where Fluttershy turned inwards and away Dash lashed out and desperately clamored for acceptance.
She's insecure about enjoying books, she's insecure about enjoying the spa, she's insecure about the nickname her fellow Wonderbolts give her, and so on. Dash is an insecure wreck desperately trying to hide anything that she feels could threaten the cool, brazen, devil-may-care persona she puts forth.

She's good looking enough to appear on merchandize and posters. If she was bad looking, the norm would be to make an "artistic" poster that shows for example her cutie mark or a rainbow instead, similar to how many talented but less visually gifted musicians choose to appear.
There's also the fact she's modeled Rarity's clothes on several occasions, as part of a legit career-defining fashion show for Rarity even.
She gets high praise from her fanclub in MMDW too, and it does in part refer to her appearance. She later confirms it herself:
>I mean... have I changed? Same sleek body. Same flowing mane. Same spectacular hooves. Nope, I'm still awesome.
Plus, there's moments like the 20% cooler moment when Dash is busy admiring herself.
From simple observation you could argue her appearance is UNUSUAL though, her mane and tail coloration is very uncommon, and as a mare she's got much, much shorter hair than the norm, shorter than many stallions even.

yes
>>29427166
Isn't this just a repost of >>29316724? Anyway Dash in this image is 200% cuter and 2000% sexier with the nostrils visible. And she's already pretty cute in the original edit... Huh, "original edit" almost sounds like an oxymoron.

I fail to see how showing gratitude indicates being excessively affected. Thanks for the nostril edit, by the way. I guess I'm affected too.

You know it's weird but the longer I look at it the more it bothers me that a lot of pone drawings don't have nostrilswhat have you done to me Anons? I won't be able to look at pone without checking to see if they have nostrils or not now

This is a bit weird, but I like doing edits, and this is definitely much easier than other kinds of edits, so I'll add some nostrils to some of my faves for you. Eventually. It's funny, I didn't even realize that the original pic by PegaSUS didn't have nostrils while I was coloring it.

I investigated about this after the convention episode. A couple of notes in case anyone is interested, to save him some time.
The original version of >>29425860 (https://derpibooru.org/311301) is only 1200 px height, too small to print. Using waifu2x twice I could get a pic 4 times taller (https://a.pomf.cat/uywanb.png). This is still smaller than the usually recommended dimensions for a body pillow, but when printed it should look much better than the original pic. Probably it'd need a few touches here and there where the scaling failed though.
I ended up buying a plush instead, so I never printed it, but out of all the online stores I could find, one of the cheapest was that site that sells the $0.99 custom mousepads. Apparently the spam filter thinks that its name is spam, so Google it or whatever. By the way, friendly reminder for anyone who doesn't want a daki but would like a cheap Dash mousepad, that's a thing.
>>29435689
Ah, you mean the site of cows and art. It's because people would spam deal codes and links to it when they would do their 99 cent items days and advertising/code offers go against some rule of the chan. As for my suggestion of hobby heart, it isn't the cheapest, but it is the total price of a decent/custom medium plush which I don't think is too far out of peoples price range and they are able to get any pictures they want for the front and back because the person running it does the upscale and cleanup for you. It came out pretty well for me when I got it for my friend.
>>29436008
Well, I didn't buy it so I don't really know if it was any good, and I know that they don't do any kind of cleanup, that's why I had to mess with waifu2x. But using one of their codes it was less than half of the price offered by similar stores, so it seemed like a good deal for something I wasn't really sure I wanted. In case anyone was in a similar situation, that's as far as I got.
I must say that I'm glad I bought the plush. It's surprisingly satisfactory to hug it, it seems silly but after I did it I realized how much I liked it. I guess that a daki is similar, and probably a "Dash pillow" like that other anon said works too, I wish I had that idea before. But in hindsight I regret nothing.

The arts of cow will avoid certain things if they are copyrighted sometimes. They also usually won't do 18+ material so they may or may not accept the photos you give them. I also could have sworn they make you crop the image on their site to a specific size and it may not span the whole cover like most body pillows do. There's a whole thread on /a/ called buyfag thread where they have huge lists of recommendations on where to buy body pillows and get customs done. I'm not sure how up to date it is, but I feel like thats the one I followed to get my friends done.
