This is pretty much how I feel about it. I'm glad that MAS is still around, even though I only started watching recently and thus have only finished watching the negative series. FiW definitely had some fantastic songs, but ended too soon for silly reasons. And they never had a crossover with RDP also for silly reasons.

Watching the older episodes is kind of like a time capsule back to 2011-2012; what's great is that even with the old references it's still enjoyable now.

I still listen to the music every now and then, shit's good.

Every time I see FiW posted here every response is just "it's shit" and "MAS is better", personally I think board loyalty is to blame.
Of course, I enjoyed Mentally Advanced series enough, but I only watch so many episodes. RDP presents is better though, I also really like their Twilight. Greg's alright too.

I don't think that would work well. They just work too differently. FiW is mostly "make shit up as you go and see what happens" and if you don't have any long term plan, vision or goal, it easily gets repetitive. I think there were one or two episodes that I somewhat liked, but it's very episodic and there's not much to get you invested into the series... which would be fine if they could keep coming up with witty and funny stuff, but when they can't, there's no story to drive forward, nothing to rely on and it just ends up being boring, unfunny video about nothing.

Well, I didn't mean that they were similar, they're not, it's just that both Scootertrix and UFP are like the two best less-known abridged series, it was worth mentioning them both.
Scootertrix is my favorite, the characters are brilliant and I think it's great they could develop an interesting story while keeping it much more "family-friendly" than the other series. Also, out of these 4 series it's the only one where Rainbow's character isn't just the plainly stupid idiot, and I really appreciated that.
UFP is completely different, it reminds me of the early seasons of Family Guy. It's all about the humor, if you don't like it, there's nothing else.

It's not bad, you can get a good idea of the characters just by that episode, so if you liked them you should watch the rest of the series, it doesn't have many episodes so it won't take you much time. Unfortunately, the crossover was indubitably the best episode by a huge margin, so the rest of the show could be a bit of a let down. Although my main issue with that series wasn't the characters or the script but the audio, sometimes it's so terrible that there were scenes where you literally can't understand a word.


Speaking of abridged series, I have this one bookmarked since forever, "The Abridged Series". I have no idea if it's any good, I don't know where I found it nor if I'll ever watch it, but if anyone is interested in yet another of these, here's a link.
