No, I believe someone who works on the show said it would be too expensive. You would think they would pull a Thomas the Tank Engine and use the updated models they used for their theatrical movie.

Sadly yes. Thomas and The Magic Railroad was a movie starring Alec Baldwin, Peter Fonda and Marissa Wilson (the girl from Matilda) Oh and Thomas was there too, but he was really more of a supporting character. It was a crossover between Thomas's show and the irrelevant garbage known as Shining Time Station. It was an absolute mess that deserves to be forgotten, but the new models of the trains produced for the movie were used up until 2009 after the show switched to CGI animation. They do look very nice, I'll give them that. However it's considered uncanon to the show. Do you guys think MLP's movie will be uncanon?

Oh, it gets even worse. This is the villain of the movie, Diesel 10. He is literally the reason I only watched this movie once as a child and couldn't watch it again because he was so nightmarish and his face was terrifying. I threw the movie in the TRASH because he was that frightening. However the movie is trash so maybe that's where it belongs. He was also the reason I couldn't watch the first TV Thomas special because he was in it. Eventually I stopped being a pussy.

He still shows up in the show from time to time as somewhat of the shows "Discord" character, but since the original movie is considered "uncanon" all of his personality has been changed.

From what I hear about the show's production these days, it's cruising for mediocrity. The show staff are doing their best to salvage the damage being caused by middle management, who want to interfere with everything and say they "helped" make one of Hasbro's best media products lately be the best it could be.

Corporate probably took a huge dump on the script and everything else. There will be real work and passion in the movie, but it's still going to smell like somebody's shit.
