Welcome back to Nebula! Last time: You went back to the surface of Prometheus-4. Finding a native and a creature, after fighting the creature the native thanks you with some crystals and showing around it's tribe.
You head back to the ship where you find out about Eagle's past and some of her life with an abusive father.
You then leave the solar system. Moving out of Equus' communication range.
Sai finds a satellite with a golden disc depicting the ways of an alien race.
This is where we continue.
>>
>>29239840
Ask Siri if we can find the location of this planet using the solar system they gave us?
>>
>>29239840
Look for Alien porn.
>>
>>29239840
We are gonna have to keep an eye out for this planet there are so many similarities to our own and those hairless bipeds were really sexy.

There must be a reason for it
>>
>>29239840
Okay..... We found a record on a similar satellite design to ours, that of which contained a record filled with recordings of similar languages, animals, and cultures of another race of primates that sent this to space for us to see and hopefully find on day. Looks like they wanted aliens to visit them on a basic idea of who they are...

...I need a drink.
>>
>>29239840
Wow...uhh...guys? Any thoughts?
>>
>>29239840
this vvvvvvv

>>29239865
>>29239866
>>29239882
>>29239888
The first thought that came to your mind was: 'They're sexy.'
You quickly push that thought out and kill it with laser gun before speaking.
"Any... thoughts?"
Only Fedot responds.
"They're interesting," Fedot comments, "A race separated by light years of space having almost the same languages and culture as we do. There has to be a reason."
"...We found a record on a similar satellite design to ours, that of which contains a record filled with recordings of similar languages, animals, and cultures of another race of primates that sent this into space to contact other races." You reiterate, "Siri, can we find the location of this planet using the solar system they gave us?"
"It take a while, but yes."
"...I need a drink."
You then turn around and trot off, with Quiet Vine still on your back.
"...Are you okay, Rust?" She asks you.

What do you do?
>>
>>29239938
Just dandy. It's....this is pretty crazy.
>>
>>29239938
Yeah, it's just that... we haven't even started yet and things are getting really crazy right off the bat. I know that we are sent to explore uncharted territory, but I thought it would be...I dunno...a bit calmer I guess. How are you holding up?
>>
>>29239938
Yeah, just utterly confused on how similar we are to them. The similarities are too eerie to really write it completely off. I guess I'm just scared of something this big. Are you doing okay?
>>
>>29239938
You know I thought it would take us longer to find intelligent life out here that's roughly on par with us. Time for celebration, yea?
>>
>>29239950
>>29239970
>>29239977
>>29239980
"Yeah," You tell her, "It's just that... things have been pretty crazy. We have barely even started and things are getting crazy right off the bat. I thought it would be... I dunno... a bit calmer. And those aliens: I'm just utterly confused on how similar we are to them. It's too eerie to really write it completely off, I guess I'm just scared of something... big. You doing okay?"
"Yeah," She nods, "...You know... there's never a truly peaceful moment in space. There's always something happening in the universe, even on a microscopic scale there's always something happening. Maybe this next solar system will have a planet that's nice, quiet, and calm for everybody here. Everybody seems to be stressed at the moment."

What do you do?
>>
>>29240047
Maybe we should all relax before we do anything else.
Are we still able to communicate with the ESC? if we are have Sai contact then and tell them we've found a relatively advanced race of bi-pedal creatures with many similarities to the planet of Equus.
>>
>>29240047
Yeah...maybe a romantic planet so I can finally take you out on a real date~. Anyway, we should arrive at the next solar system in a bit so let's head to the kitchen to scope it out.
>>
>>29240047
Maybe we will find a nice planet with breatable air and no dangers to take a rest on that could be nice i suppose
>>
>>29240047
"Yeah, you're right. Maybe we can even have a nice dinner on one those planets with just the two of us. For now, it's best to take it slow with this revelation."

Sent a message to ESC if possible. We should take a small break with everyone in the kitchen, and check how the rest of the crew is handling this.
>>
>>29240071
We lost coms when we left the last system.
I am almost tempted to say we should turn around so we can tell the esc but i think the rest of the crew would be against that.

Maybe at some point we will find some alien tech that allows us to reestablish coms
>>
>>29240094
Well this is something BIG. The ESC would very much appreciate it if we were to go back to inform them of our discovery.
>>
>>29240132
Maybe, but we should go to the kitchen with the others to discuss even doing this.
>>
>>29240071
>>29240079
>>29240080
>>29240090
"Yeah, maybe we'll find a romantic planet so I can finally take you out on a real date~," You smile, "Might be one with breathable air and no dangers to take a rest on. For now, it's best to take it slow with this revelation."
You would've loved to send a message out to ESC, but since they were out of communication range It wasn't possible.
The two of you head into the kitchen. Eagle and Fedot come by a bit later. Eagle looked tired while Fedot looked fine, unfazed.
The four of you look out the window as you entered the solar system. The ship started to slow down, and after several minutes you could see a large blue star and three small planets.
Compared to the system's sun, these planets were quite small.

What do you do?
>>
Need to do something really quick. Shouldn't take long, maybe thirty minutes to a hour.
I will be back.
>>
>>29240148
Examine the planets. Ask Siri to run a scan on each of them.
>>
>>29240148
So which planet do you guys want to explore next?
>>
>>29240148
Eagle looks off. Ask her if she's doing all right with all this. Also, ask Fedot how he is too. He may be hiding his shock. Scan those planets in the meantime.
>>
>>29240132
Maybe we can attatch a small solar sail to the satalite along with a transmitter beaming to the esc and send it back to equus
>>
>>29240148
Ask about the planets
>>
>>29240240
Unless it could travel as fast as the ship then nah man.
>>
>>29240254
It does not need to travel as fast as the ship just fast enough it would reach eques before we return from our 2 year journy.
>>
>>29240148
So any thoughts on the cryo sleep?
>>
>>29240166
>>29240174
>>29240177
>>29240247
>>29240568
"You alright, Eagle?" You ask her.
"Yeah," She nods, "It has nothing to do with the record, I'm just really tired."
"Fedot?"
"I'm fine."
"Siri, can you scan each of the planets?"
"Got it."
The four of you stand in silence for a few minutes until Sai comes back.
"Scanned finish," He says, "The system is new, which is why it's sun is so big and blue. Two of the planets are basically rocks. The one closest to the sun has water covering most of it's surface, no plants, and no animals meaning life is just forming there. There's some land there if you want to check it out. It also has a breathable atmosphere for some reason."

What do you do?
>>
>>29240657
No animals and plants means no danger. Maybe we can relax a bit there. I doubt we will find much there, but might as well check it out. Anything interesting on the rock planets though?
>>
>>29240657
If there's nothing on those others planets, we might have just found a peaceful planet to take a break on.
>>
>>29240657
And what's the temperature of the atmosphere of each planet at ground level?
>>
>>29240657
Lets head to the watery planet first i assume we have a boat in the cargo hold
>>
>>29240691
>>29240709
>>29240720
>>29240729
"What's the temperatures on each planet on ground level?"
"The two outer ones are -100 degrees, while the water is about seventy."
"...No animals and plants means no danger. Maybe we can relax a bit there? I doubt we will find much there. Anything interesting on the rock planets though?"
"One of them is has a geyser spewing oxygen out into it's atmosphere... that's about it."

What do you do?
>>
>>29240776
>-100 degrees
That's below freezing. Are our suits insulated enough?
>>
>>29240776
I should be disappointed...but I'm actually glad that we got a boring planet this time. Alright, let's go down there and check out the third one.
>>
>>29240776
70 fucking degrees Celsius and here i thought it would be relaxing.
>>
>>29240811
Wait shit qm is american he probably meant farenhight
Say that anyway and when he clarifys suggest a quick trip down to the water planet for a few hours before we go check out that geyser
>>
>>29240831
What kind of explorers are we if we are using the imperial system?! We are failures! Just kidding, doesn't really that matter that much in this story.
>>
>>29240831
This
>>
>>29240831
I'm technically French, but I've lived in America for most of life that I don't consider myself very French. So I use Fahrenheit

>>29240800
>>29240806
>>29240811
>>29240869
You would be disappointed, but you were kinda glad that you got a boring planet this time.
"Celsius or Fahrenheit?" You ask.
"Fahrenheit."
"Alright," You say, "Let's go to that water planet for a few hours before we check out that geyser."
Your friends agree and you head towards the water planet.

The planet was covered mostly in water. The biggest landmass on it being the size of Manehatten.
The four of you get into the landing pod and strap in.
It starts to fall and several minutes later you touch down.
The door opens and Fedot is the first one out. He looks around for a moment before turning to the three of you.
"Well, I'm not choking to death so it's good!"

What do you do?
>>
>>29240895
Lets go for a swim
>>
>>29240895
Let's step out. If there really is nothing here then just grab a water and soil sample and look around a bit.
>>
>>29240902
Err...maybe check if the water isn't bad for us first?
>>
>>29240895
Take samples and explore a bit.
>>
>>29240902
Don't dive in head first, we need to check things.
>>
>>29240911
Thats a good idea
If the water is safe go swiming.
>>
>>29240922
We don't know what even is in the ocean or if foreign creatures live here yet. I wouldn't risk even jumping in until we know for sure..
>>
>>29240902

>>29240911
>>29240916
>>29240919
>>29240922
>>29240938
You step out and look around. There wasn't much soil, just a bunch of reddish rock that made up the landmass.
Your friends come out, looking around. You manage to find some dust and collect that for a sample.
You then head to the water, near a very small fall next to the water. You bend down and get some in a glass.
The water was blue, and almost fully clear. Looking down at the water said the same thing: It was crystal clear. The water also appeared to be much like the ocean's water on Equus.
You continue looking across the water. It being clear helping you see what's in the water.
There was nothing in the water, just rocks like the land and darkness much further out. Nothing swimming near or in the water.
Your friends were already enjoying the water, as Eagle took off into the water and started swimming. Fedot following a few seconds later, but you couldn't see Quiet Vine.
'Where is she?'
You're then pushed into the water. You fall in, flailing around for a moment or two before breaking the surface. Your red mane sticking to your head.
Quiet Vine stared down at you as you floated in the water.
"How's the water?" She asks with a innocent smile.

What do you do?

>>29240992
Waters fine how selfless of you helping us get in faster before getting in yourself
>>
>>29240992
Splash her.
>>
>>29240992
"Maybe you should come in and see for yourself!"

Attempt to pull her in.
>>
>>29240992
Oh ho ho ho ho. Looks like some pony wants to get wet.
>>
>>29240992
Splash her some water. Thank her, but shouldn't she also get in with us?~

>>29241012
Yeah.
>>
>>29240992
Flip our wet mane like the sexy beast we are.
>>

Voting for this just to see Vine's reaction.

"Water's fine," You tell her; flipping your mane, "How selfless of you helping me get in faster before getting in yourself. But, should you be getting in with me?~"
"Huh-"
You splash her with water and pull her in. She splashes into the water, flailing around in it for a few seconds before surfacing.
She glares at you before giving you rapid-fire splashes. You hold your hooves up to defend yourself.
After a few seconds she stops, but she doesn't give you time to recover as she tackles you and kisses you on the lips.

What do you do?
>>
>>29241076
Time to chill in the water and make out with our waifu. About time we caught a break...
>>
>>29241076
Hug and make out with her. Nothing could ruin this moment!
>>
>>29241076
Lift her out of the water with our superior taur strength and give her a big kiss in the air

You lift her out of the water and kiss her more vigorously. Making out with her.
You set her down in the water and continue to kiss her. Now hugging her as you continued your make out session.
Nothing could ruin this!

Surprisingly, nothing ruined it.
You now laid on the warm rocks of the land. Quiet Vine was stretched out across from you, enjoying the drying rays of the planet's sun as well.
It's been a few hours now. Your watch telling you it was now three.
Fedot was still in the water. Floating on his back. Eagle was in the air, doing aerial tricks.
Quiet Vine shifts on you so that she was straight on your body with her face next to yours.
She lays her head on your shoulders, nuzzling you before sighing in contentment.

What do you do?
>>
>>29241194
Lets just lie here a few more minuites then we should probably head back
Give vine a kiss on the forehead
>>
>>29241194
"So...what will you do when we come back to Equus? I mean...think of the paycheck we will get!"

Keep up with the cuddles and nuzzles.
>>
>>29241194
Let's not fall asleep. We could get a sun burn or......something......how the hell did the ponies get frost burns in the show?
>>
>>29241194
"Never thought I would ever enjoy a quiet planet before we started all this. How about later we a picnic here?"

Cuddles and nuzzles.
>>
>>29241220
Aww c'mon! We don't have to go back yet. The other two planets are boring anyways. This is the perfect time to get to know Vine a bit better.
>>
>>29241194
Oh yeah, we should apologize to her that we couldn't be there before we left out contact of ESC. An important personal came for Eagle and she desperately needed help.

"Never thought I would ever enjoy a quiet planet before we started all this," You comment, "...Sorry for not being there before we left contact with ESC. An important personal thing came up for Eagle and she desperately needed help."
"It's fine," Quiet Vine tells you; kissing you on the cheek, "It sounded pretty bad from where I was."
The two of you continue to cuddle.
"...Maybe we could have a picnic here later?" You suggest.
"Just you and me?" Quiet Vine asks.

What do you do?
>>
>>29241310
Of course! We still owe her a date. Plus, a cutie like her definitely deserves one.
>>
>>29241310
Sure
>>
>>29241310
Yep, just you and me. I do owe you a date and I really want to get to know you better. We can go right after we check out those rock planets. Sound good?
>>
>>29240895
>The biggest landmass on it being the size of Manehatten.
Has manehatten grown at all since the show here?
>>
>>29241397
Kinda. Most ponies have been moving west: Canterlot, Ponyville, Appaloosa, Las Pegasus.

>>29241336
>>29241338
>>29241353
"Of course," You smile, "I do owe you a date and I really want to get to know you better. And, a cutie like you definitely deserves one."
She blushes at this.
"We can go right after we check out those rock planets. Sound good?"
"Yeah." She smiles.
The two of you continue to cuddle and nuzzle each other for several minutes when Eagle lands next to you.
"Think we can get going," She asks, "Cause I haven't eaten in five days." She jokes.

What do you do?

Yeah sure lets get going
>>

I wish every planet was like this. I'm feeling peckish myself and I think it's Fedot's turn to make food...don't you think?
>>
>>29241495
>>29241497
"Yeah let's get going," You say; getting up and causing Quiet Vine to roll off of you, but she's laughing, "I'm feeling peckish myself and I think it's Fedot's turn to make food... don't you think?"
"Yeah," Eagle agrees, "We're going back to the ship, Fedot! You're making the food!"
"Alright." He says; getting up from the water and shaking himself off, "You guys fine with meat or no?"

What do you do?
>>
>>29241460
Nothing wrong with fasting. But if you want to give up on it, we can go get something. How was it to stretch your wings?
>>
>>29241556
Rust is half Minotaur, and horses are naturally opportunistic carnivores. Rusts a big boy, he shouldn't mind. Can't say the same for Eagle and Vine though.
>>
>>29241556
Fine with me. Show me what you got!
>>
>>29241556
I don't think we would mind. Being raised by a Minotaur came with it. Eagle, and especially Vine, may disagree on it though. Ask how Vine and Fedot enjoyed themselves.
>>
>>29241556
Yeah sure lets have a nice slab of meat
>>
>>29241574
>>29241588
>>29241611
>>29241623
Being half Minotaur your dad raised you around meat. Ponies could eat meat, but most didn't. Your mom didn't approve at first, but she soon relented.
"I don't mind," You tell him; the four of you getting back on landing pod.
"I'd like some meat." Eagle smiles.
"Can I have veggies and fruit instead," Quiet Vine asks, "I, uhm, don't really like meat."

Soon the four of you were in orbit above the planet.
You, Fedot, and Eagle were eating pork, while Quiet Vine ate the new fruits you've gotten so far. Snowflake ate some pork as well. While Curiosity ate some fruit on the ground.
The four of you were done eating after several minutes. Stomachs full and satisfied.

What do you do?
>>
>>29241672
What time is it? Do we have time for a quick trip to one of the rock planets?
>>
>>29241672
Lets check out that oxygen geyser
>>
>>29241694
>>29241729
You look at your watch, seeing that it as four. You had time to check out one of the rock planets.

The ship was now flying above the third planet from the sun. This planet being covered by rock and ice. A ring of rock flying around the planet.
The four of you looked out through the window in the kitchen as the ship came closer to the oxygen geyser.
You soon come to it. It was a large spewing hole, miles across, shooting white oxygen into space. A white sheet spreading from the lower parts of the geyser and across the planet.
"See that white sheet like cloud," Sai asks, "That's the atmosphere. All this oxygen that this planet is shooting out is forming in an atmosphere for this planet."

What do you do?
>>
>>29241812
Let's go down there and check it out.
>>
>>29241812
Take pictures
We are watching the very birth of a planet
>>
>>29241827
>>29241840
You take a couple of pictures. You were watching the very birth of a planet.
You think about heading down there and getting it up close, but the surface down there looked rough and uneven. It'd be hard to land down there.

What do you do?
>>
>>29241933
Well now that we've had a better look, is it stable enough to land or support the weight of the shuttle?
>>
>>29241933
Let not mess with a plant that's in the prepossess for being made.
>>
>>29241933
Too volatile to risk going there. Let's just observe this one.
>>
>>29241933
Observe this one for a bit and then get close to the last planet.
>>
>>29241944
>>29241951
>>29241968
>>29241979
You decide to not mess with the planet that's in the process of being made. Continuing to observe for now.
After a few minutes of observing you start to hear a low rumble.
*rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*
You look at the geyser and watch as a giant crack forms near the geyser. Sending rock and ice into space.
*Whack*
The ship shakes slightly as something hits it from below.
Several more large cracks appear, sending more rock and ice up, and the ship was in the targeted area.

What do you do?

Stopping for the night.
I'm not sure if classes will be cancelled tomorrow. On one hand, the snow is melting, but on the other hand the streets are a mess of ice, slush, and now ankle high water due to a huge rainstorm now. I'll update you guys about it when I wake up.

Because, if our ship get's damaged it might cause all kinds of problems. Most resulting in death.
>>
>>29242030
We can panic if we find any serious damage to our ship. I am sure we can do basic repairs for some debris hitting us. We can also easily land back on the previous planet to do so easily.
>>
>>29242132
We use a shuttle to visit planets. I doubt we can fly the entire ship to planets considering we launched in a rocket from Equus. So yeah...we have a lot of reason to panic.

The ship is soon out of harm's way, and at a safe distance.
"The ship is good," Sai says, "Suffered a few small dents on the bottom of the ship, but everything is fine."

What do you do?
>>
>>29247258
>spoiler
Thats good
>>
>>29247258
I suppose eagle can fix that while we are on our date
To romance we go
>>
>>29247258
Observe the planet from a distance some more. What is happening to it?

"Siri, are you able to fix the exterior damages to the ship somehow?"
>>29247303
Not yet, we still have to check the other rock planet.
>>
>>29247258
Check the other planet. This one obviously wants some distance from us. Ask Siri if it is possible to fix any exterior damage done to us.
>>
>>29247303
>>29247318
>>29247359
You observe the planet from a distance a bit more. The geyser has grown in size. It's crack have made several other geysers, two of them spewing out a different gas that you couldn't identify.
"Siri, are you able to fix the exterior damages to the ship somehow?"
"I can AID in fixing damages," He says, "But, I can't repair them myself. Somepony will have to go out and fix it, but it hasn't damaged anything so it doesn't really need fixing. We have tons of spare parts in the cargo bay. More than enough to last two years."
You supposed that Eagle could do it while you went on the "date" with Quiet Vine, but you weren't sure.
The ship moves towards the other forming rock planet. This one was closer to it's star.
The ship flies over the planet so you can get a good look on it from the windows. This planet was rocky, with no ice, and craters covering almost every inch of the planet. Heck, there were craters in craters.
You also notice something black moving across the surface of this planet that gave off a faint glow. Studying it more, you find out that it's lava moving across the surface. The lava's surface turned black by space's cold air.

What do you do?
>>
>>29247394
Alright let head to the next solar system.
>>
>>29247394
Guessing we can't land there either. Log what happened with the first rock planet and then log the appearance of this one. Time to get ready for that date, check the food storage and see what we can have for the date.
>>
>>29247394
Can we get samples of, or scan, those unknown gasses?

>>29247416
Why are you in such a hurry? we only arrived a few hours ago.
>>
>>29247394
Log everything. We can't really visit these rock planets. Maybe we can somehow just scan those gasses from afar?
>>
>>29247394
It might be worth getting a sample of the unknown gas from the previous planet we can probably get in and out quickly before it cracks again.

Tell eagle we should make some sort of remote controled sample collecting devices when we get the chamce.
>>
>>29247442
It oxygen, you fucken retarded. Plus the ship has a scanner built into it.
>>
>>29247494
Just two young planets in the process of being formed. Maybe we should go out to fix that damage. We are the engineer here.
>>
>>29247516
Yeah but eagle is the mechanic.
>>
>>29247421
>>29247427
>>29247437
>>29247442
You log everything you've found in this solar system, before turning to the gasses on the other planet.
You could see them from where you were, even though they were several thousand miles away now. One was a blue color, which you knew was methane, the other was colorless, making it ammonia.
"We should make some sort of remote controlled sample collecting device when we get the chance." You tell Eagle.
"Yeah," She agrees, "We have the tool and supplies to do so."
Sai turns the ship towards the water planet after you were done and starts flying towards it.
You take this moment as everybody was away to prepare for the date. Specifically: Food.
You look through the food storage, though you didn't know what to bring for the date. As far as you knew Quiet Vine had a preference for: Salads, and didn't eat meat.

What do you do?
>>
>>29247532
Grab a bottle of wine and some glasses. Make a salad and some sandwiches.
>>
>>29247532
>>29247544
This is the best option. Maybe we can make a pasta salad and bring a small fruit platter fruit also.
>>
>>29247544
No alcohol we may want to go swiming again at some point.
Do we have any zap apple jam.
>>
>>29247594
Wine is not for getting drunk, Anon. It's nice for a date.
>>
>>29247544
>>29247588
>>29247594
You find a bottle of wine and some cabbages with a few other veggies and trot back to the kitchen.
You find some glasses and some plates and start making some salad.

Several minutes later you have a large bowl of salad and some sandwiches containing Zap Apple Jam, along with a small fruit platter. All ready for the date.
The door to the kitchen opens and Quiet Vine trots in with a blanket in her magic.
"Is the food for the... date?" She asks; stopping next to you.

What do you do?
>>
>>29247616
Yes
>>
>>29247616
Yeah. Anything you wanna add to it? I was just kinda going for a picnic style.
>>
>>29247631
>>29247632
"Yes. Anything you wanna add to it? I was just kinda going for a picnic style."
"It's fine," She smiles; looking it over, "It looks great."
The two of you stand in silence for a moment.
"Ready to go," She asks, "Cause I am."

What do you do?
>>
>>29247693
Yep. Let's get down there.
>>
>>29247693
Full speed ahead.
>>
>>29247710
>>29247751
"Yep. Full speed ahead!"
Quiet Vine giggles at this as the two of you head to the landing pod.
"What are you two doing?" Sai asks as you near the landing pod.
"We're going on a picnic," Quiet Vine tells him, "We'll be back."
"Alright. Have fun you crazy kids!"
The landing pod falls and several minutes later you land on the same island you did earlier.
It was sunset by the time you landed and got out.
"Where should we set up?" Quiet Vine asks; looking around.

What do you do?
>>
>>29247803
Somewhere with a nice view of the sunset.
>>
>>29247803
Somewhere near the pod about 200 meters back from the water
>>
>>29247820
>>29247832
The two of you decide to set up where there's a nice view of the sunset that's also near the pod. You find one next to the water.
Quiet Vine sets the blanket down and you place the food, wine, plates, and glasses on it.
The two of you sit down on the blanket across from each other.
You didn't really know what to say as Quiet Vine looked out at the sunset. The sun's rays causing her forest green mane to sparkle a bit.

What do you do?
>>
>>29247892
Start with some basic questions like how did she receive her cutie mark? If we didn't know any better, we would mistake her being involved with animals. She seems to love them.
>>
>>29247892
Ask what she thinks of all the amazing plants she discovered.
>>
>>29247892
Tell her that she has beautiful eyes.
>>
>>29247907

"You have beautiful eyes." You tell her.
"T-Thanks." She stutters; blushing at your comment and grabbing a sandwich.
"...What do you think of all the amazing plants you've discovered."
"They're amazing," She smiles, "These are new plants on found on different planets, with different foods! It's just amazing!"
"I've been wondering," You say, "How did you get your cutie mark?"
"This?" She asks; pointing at her growing plant sprout mark.
You nod.
"I got it later than many foals where I grew up," She starts, "I was born and raises in Hollow's Shade."
You've heard a bit about Hollow's Shade. It was a small town near the Evergreen Forest. Mostly populated by bats, but Quiet Vine was a unicorn, but that might explain why she had golden eyes, and puffy ears.
"I was six," She continues, "I was always a bit of a loner and liked to play near the Evergreen Forest. One day I came upon a baby Raccoon that was hurt. I took it back to my house and took care of it and healed it up. I then let it go after a few days of healing, but it didn't leave... He ended up becoming my pet for a while."
She smiles a bit, though it quickly leaves.
"When I became ten the Raccoon was still around and I still didn't have my cutie mark at the time. My parents made me release the Raccoon: It was growing big, and a bit reckless. I released him that night and went to bed. In the morning I discovered my cutie mark. The Raccoon visited me for several years, but three years ago he stopped showing up. And, that was that."
That might explain why she teared up when you found that dead Raccoon.
"How did you get your cutie mark?" She asks, "I've been wondering."
You look down at your Soldering Iron cutie mark.

We read a book about electronics and decided to give it a try.
Even back then i spent a lot of time in the library

Sorry to disappoint, but my story isn't as interesting as yours. I just had a knack for experimenting with useless machinery and then it just appeared. So you said that you were born in Hollow's Shade. Is your dad a batpony?

>>29248044
We had knack for creating alot odd inventions. Unfortunately, most were completely pointless and really didn't do much. It didn't stop me from fooling around it though. "Is your dad a batpony?"
"No," She says, "My mom is a batpony. My dad was a unicorn from Canterlot who moved there because his old job did. Then he met my mom." She smiles.
The two of you eat in silence for bit until Quiet Vine smiles.
"I'm curious," She smiles, "How small were you before your growth spurt. You're as big as Luna right now."

What do you do?

Just the normal size for a pony our age
>>
>>29248143
Normal sized for a while. Of course, being an eccentric focused on knick knaks came with some trouble with other children. After the growth spurt, and most began to fear my size, I couldn't really bring myself to do anything back. I'm just not the type to hurt those willingly like that.

"I did kinda fear you when we met," She says, "But, you quickly showed that you were kind. That's why I... fell in love with you: You're a gentle and kind giant."
She hides behind her mane, blushing behind it, and stroking it too.

You move up next to her.
"Same reason why I fell in love with you," You say to her, "Without the giant part. You're a beautiful, adorable cutie that I fell in love with."
"S-Stop it!" She smiles; hiding behind her mane even further and trying to push you over, but it was more like a simple touch.
"I'm pretty sure you like me for another reason." You smile; sitting down next to her and pulling her into a hug. Which she returns after a few seconds, "Want me to open the wine?"
She nods.
You get the wine and open it, pouring it into two glasses for you and Quiet Vine.
"Toast?" She asks; holding up her glass with her magic.

What do you do?
>>
>>29248330
Sure. A toast to us~...and for surviving the expedition!
>>
>>29248330
A toast for us~ and a successful expedition!
>>
>>29248399
>>29248411
You hold up your glass.
"A toast for us~ and for surviving the expedition!"
*Clink!*

It's been maybe an hour or two. It was now dark, all the food has been eaten, the wine was gone, shared between the two of you. Neither of you were drunk though.
You sat on your back, staring up at the night sky while Quiet Vine laid on you asleep. Her head resting on your neck.
You've grown so use to the Equus night sky that you didn't really bother to look up, but the night sky here was beautiful with different stars and constellations.
One of those stars up there was Equus'.
You looked around your environment, listening to the waves crashing onto the shore and looking at the lights slowly moving through the water.
Wait... lights?
You sit up, making sure not to wake Quiet Vine up.
There were four, slender lights in the water. They moved slowly through the water, almost stealthily, towards the shore you and Quiet Vine were currently on.
It could be that the animals here were nocturnal, but the lights looked too big to be made by anything on a newly formed planet.

What do you do?
>>
>>29248463
Those lights are approaching us and we don't have anything to defend ourselves with. Retreat and carry Vine back to the shuttle.
>>
>>29248463
Wake Vine up. Point out the lights and ask what they could be.
>>
>>29248484
>>29248497
You quickly shake Vine up.
"Huh? Wha?"
"What are those?" You ask.
Quiet Vine blinks a couple of times before squinting at the lights.
"I... don't know."
The lights continue to approach until they disappear near the shore. You pick Quiet Vine up and retreat back to the shuttle.
The two of you find a spot to hide in and watch.
Nothing happens for a few seconds, and then something jumps out of the water before landing on the shore. Cracking the rocky soil.
The creature had a long rounded body, with four tentacles holding it up, a lot like a Squid. Though the strangest thing about it was that it's tentacles were metallic, ending with pointed claws, the lower part of it's body was also metallic, with the middle part being a fleshy, purple skin and the top of it's body also metallic, it's top being divided by four panels on it's rounded top. It had one eye in it's mid-section, it was a normal, predator-like eye, though it was surrounded by a metal band with screws in it and glass covering it, almost like a goggle.
It raises one of it's tentacles and a red light comes from the tip. Three more of the same creature come out of the water, landing next to you.
The lead one scans the area with it's eyes before it falls on the picnic blanket.
"Eshessh shawsch." It says in a rough voice. It's top part moving as it spoke like a mouth.
The four move towards the blanket, picking up random items like the salad bowl, and the cups.
One of them takes a wine glass and studies it before it lowers it's body forward and opening it's top section where you're horrified to see that it's mouth was lined with saw blades.
It puts the glass in and the saw blades grind it apart, it's mouth moving like it was chewing it.
They do this for a few minutes before stopping, the leader turning to them.
"Swascht kreoule kieiik yele."
They suddenly take to the air. They move around the sky for a moment before shooting off into space at a high speed.

What do you do?
>>
>>29248656
What the fuck just happened?
>>
>>29248656
...um contact the ship and notify of this. Did they detect any metallic flying squids shooting off from the planet? I hope we have something on the shuttle that recorded this.
>>
>>29248679
>>29248755
You couldn't help, but stare where those aliens were and that mess they made of the remains of the picnic: The blanket was several feet from it's original spot, they ATE most of the objects made out of glass, Salad bowl, glasses, one of the plates, but they spat that out, and the wine bottle was now floating nearby in the ocean.
"What the fuck just happened?" You ask.
You get up from your position and trot over to the com. You push the button on it.
"Yo?" You hear Eagle ask on the other side, "Date going well?"

What do you do?
>>
>>29248778
Wha-!? NO! You mean you didn't just see a bunch of half-terminator hydras fuck off into space from the planet we're on? They ate our picnic gear!
>>
>>29248778
It went great, but at the end of it some weird creatures just came out of the water and eat almost everything that is not food.
>>
>>29248778
Oh just peachy. Say can you ask Sai if the ship has and external weapons? There are some.....interesting aliens here.
>>
>>29248804
Oh course not. Why would they spy on us?
>>
>>29248828
I thought that at least Siri would pick something up since he detected that satellite without a problem.
>>
>>29248833
>aliens
That's how
>>
>>29248778
Four squid creatures came out and ate our dinner before shooting off to space. They looked like machines with organic qualities. They also had teeth that worked like saw blades. Just prepare your weapons because they're somewhere out there.

Fly back to the ship.
>>
>>29248804
>>29248807
>>29248818
>>29248840
"Wha-!? No-... It went great. Can you ask Sai if the ship has any external weapons?"
"I went out on a space walk to fix the damage to the ship. Found some weapons, but they use bullets. Why?"
"Four squid creatures came out of the water and ate our picnic gear before fucking off into space," You explain, "They looked like machines with organic qualities. They also had teeth that worked like saw blades."
"Now that you mentioned it: I did see four bright objects fly away from the water planet a few minutes ago," She says, "They flew towards the sun before disappearing. I thought they were some strange type of comet at the time so I didn't think much of it."

What do you do?
>>
>>29248881
Damn...well consider the date officially ruined. What a burner-kill. Let's pick up the remains of the picnic gear and head back.
>>
>>29248881
Towards the sun? Ask Siri if he can even detect them. We are heading back as soon as possible. Stay alert and please stay safe out there.
>>
>>29248895
>>29248921
"Towards the sun?"
"Well, more like the direction of the sun. They disappeared before they got to it."
"Can you ask Siri if they can detect them?"
"I can ask. Though, he said that he and us can control the external weapons so that we will be helpful in a fight if one happens. Maybe we'll find new, better ones."
"Alright. We're heading back as soon as possible. Stay alert and please stay safe out there."
"We will. I'll go tell Fedot about this. You stay safe as well."
The com ends and you sigh.
"Consider this date ruined," You mutter, "What a burner-kill."
"The date was kinda over when they arrived." Quiet Vine comments.
You kinda shrug at this and the two of you head outside.
The two of you go through the remains of the picnic and start picking things up.
You trot towards the wine bottle, which was now on the shore when something lands on the shore.
It was another one of the aliens. You notice that it was smaller than the other ones. It scans the area, looking mostly confused about it's situation before laying it's eye on you and freezing.
It then surprisingly starts to back away from you.

What do you do?
>>
>>29248973
Call Vine over and see if she can calm it down. If it tries to escape then tackle it. We need to examine this thing.
>>
>>29248973
Back away as well.
>>
>>29248986
Don't tackle it.
If it runs just leave it.
>>
>>29248986
We will do no such thing. Remember that talk we had about first contact? Yeah tackling an alien that can eat glass and bits of metal utensils isn't something you want to tackle unless you want repercussions you twat.
>>
>>29249016
And then it remembers us and calls it's buddies to murderize us?
>>
>>29249026
Better than tackling it.
>>
>>29249026
We tackle it and this thing's parents comes to murderize us too

>>29249026
No tackling. Just keep our distance and get what we can before leaving.
>>
>>29249026

These things fly fast then a comet. Now let's see if you do the math - No you dumb fuck. Aggression is the last thing you want. That's how you start a galactic war, because some dipshit thought 'oh no an alien hur dur I tackle it.'

>>29249040
>>29249041
>>29249042
>>29249051
Alright then. So we just ignore it and leave?
>>
>>29249066
Yes. We are putting ourselves at risk by being near a scared child of these aliens. Back off and leave.
>>
>>29249066
Im not against taking it on the ship if we show it kindness and let it do the talking when it comes to its people.

You carefully back away.
"Vine!" You call her.
Quiet Vine quickly comes over. Her eyes widen at the alien.
The alien is quick to lift a tentacle at her, but doesn't do anything.
"Hey, hey," She says; trying to calm it down as the two of you back away, "It's okay."
It's tentacle starts shaking. It then stiffens up and points it's tentacle at it's eye.
*Pkow! Pkow! Pkow!*
It's tentacles fall. Revealing a hole where it's eye use to be. It's body falls to the ground as bright blue blood starts to form a puddle on the rocky surface.
"...Did it just commit Seppuku?" Quiet Vine asks.

What do you do?
>>
>>29249086
I.don't.know but we should get going I have a bad feeling about this.
>>
>>29249086
Alright...that just happened. So much for leaving it alone. At least we have a body to examine.
>>
>>29249086
Well then! Leave the body and head back! Comfort Vine in the meantime.

Try not to PANIC!
>>
>>29249105
Why do we leave the body? We can bring it back to the ship and dissect it for info. Would give us an insight on what these things are.
>>
>>29249086
lets just take a small blood sample
>>
>>29249099
I don't think that is such a good idea. We don't want those aliens finding out that we have their dead child on our grasp to experiment on. A sample is the best thing.
>>
>>29249086
>Seppuku
Quiet vine confirmed weeb.
>>
>>29249117
And how would they find out? We can jettison the corpse after we're done with it. And I have a feeling that this thing isn't an animal. It has metal parts and screws all over it. Someone at least partially made this thing. Unless they are born on a metal planet or something then nevermind...
>>
>>29249097
>>29249099
>>29249105
>>29249111
>>29249117
"...That just happened." You mutter.
With a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach, you grab a sample of it's blood and the two of you quickly gallop to the landing pod.
The two of you enter and strap yourselves in. The pod soon takes off.
Quiet Vine was shaking out of fear at the moment. You were scared as well, but the most important thing in this situation was: TRY NOT TO PANIC!!
"You two okay," You hear Sai ask over the com, "Eagle told me about your encounter with some aliens."

What do you do?
>>
>>29249136
Anon, I don't want us risking a galactc war with another race in order to examine a body. The fact that this alien has metal parts is even worse. We don't know if there is some tracker installed on them.
>>
>>29249147
We should start our way out of this system before we explain
>>
>>29249147
So uh, yeah it just killed itself. We should get out of here perform some equivalent of space police or those other aliens come back. And prime the outer weapon just in case, I dunno. Your the onevthat's part of the ship.
>>
>>29249147
Yeah... a child came out as soon as our conversation ended. It acted scared so we tried to calmly interact with it, but it committed suicide right then and there.
>>
>>29249147
Hug and comfort Vine.

"I'll explain later, just get us out of this system. It isn't safe here anymore."
>>
>>29249173
We can't assume, just because it's smaller that it is a child. Maybe dwarfish.
>>
>>29249147
Comfort Vine. She needs support right now.
>>
>>29249147
Why didn't we just collect the entire thing? What is it with you guys and bodies?
>>
>>29249188
Well it kinda acted like a scared child minus the whole self stabbing to the eye.
>>
>>29249212
My thoughts exactly. We could have totally picked that one up.
>>
>>29249212
More or less the whole unknown metallic body that may or may not be traceable and may or may not leave some kind of traceable material that may bring about our destruction.
>>
>>29249161
>>29249166
>>29249173
>>29249176
>>29249188
You reach over and hug Vine.
"Yeah... A child, I think, came out as soon as our conversation ended. It acted scared so we tried to calmly interact with it, but it committed suicide right then and there. We should get out of here before some equivalent of space police or those other aliens come back. Prime the outer weapons just in case."
"Got it. We have seven different solar systems near us. The closest one being about a three day travel, under the cryo limit. Would you like me to pick one randomly or do you want to pick one?"
At that moment you realize that Quiet Vine didn't look too good. Her face looked to be tinted green slightly, and she was breathing rapidly through her mouth, and was shaking more.
She was having a panic attack, and a pretty bad one by the looks of things.

What do you do?
>>
>>29249232
Didn't you just tell us not to assume?
>>
>>29249232
And the blood might have traceable nano-bots in it. So shut up with you ridiculous paranoia and stop robbing us of IRREPLACEABLE opportunities for research.
>>
>>29249247
Uhm...no I said this >>29249216
>>
>>29249243
Keep comforting Vine. Stroke her mane.

"Shh...It's ok. We're gonna be fine. Take deep breaths..."
>>
>>29249260
In any case if we are attacked by them in space feel free to get their bodies.
>>
>>29249243
Space police is an absolutely ridiculous idea and we all need to calm down. Make sure Vine is well and go back down for the rest of the samples. Than figure out where those aliens went.

>>29249243
Deep breath Vine, just close your eyes and go to your happy place.
>>
>>29249260
Fucking THIS! The thing killed itself and we pretty much got an alien body presented to us on a silver fucking platter. And if the aliens turn out to be this CYOAs version of reapers from Mass Defect then the research we can do with it will be invaluable.
>>
>>29249260
Also the body is still there if we really want to we can go back and pick it up it's not like a dead body can just move around.
>>
>>29249279
WE SHOULD ACT AS IF SOMETHING LIKE THAT NEVER HAPPENS. Also, being able to dissect one of them would allow us to understand more about them in the off-chance we do run into them again.
>>
>>29249243
Hug and comfort Vine. Get her to sit down somewhere, and tell her we're right here for her. Also, even though I'm paranoid about those aliens finding out, space police is going a bit out there.
>>
>>29249298
People are trying to get us to leave the system.
>>
>>29249243
Should a poll be created over the body then? I voted to leave the body, but I understand if the majority wants to go back and take it.
>>
>>29249319
Not seeing much for leaving it on this prompt.
>>
>>29249319
Literally no reason not to take it. And no: POTENTIAL trackers and traceable blood is not a valid reason.
>>
>>29249212
>inb4 we never take a single body onto our ship the whole quest.
Even if one of our crewmates dies we will just leave the body there
>>
>>29249243
I think we should really take the body
We mught be able to work with some of the tech

You keep comforting her. Stroking her mane.
"Shh, It's okay," You tell her, "We're going to be fine. I'm right here for you, just close your eyes and go to your happy place."
Quiet Vine places her head on your shoulder and closes her eyes. Making some chocking noises as she starts to cry.
The pod stops moving as you land in the ship. The door opens and Eagle and Fedot quickly run in with weapons at the ready.
"You guys okay?" Eagle asks; trotting towards you and Quiet Vine, who has refused to move.

What do you do?
>>
>>29249385
It's okay Vine come on let's go.
>>
>>29249385
motion to them that the creature killed itself with out saying it. Also we going need a bucket soon.
>>
>>29249385
"I'm fine, but I'm a bit worried about Vine. Can you guys please go down there and fetch the alien corpse?"

Let's slowly escort Vine to her room.
>>
>>29249411
This

>>29249411
This
>>
>>29249342
Alright, I understand your argument the body can be used to help in our research and understanding of them. Just scared of the worst possibility over our encounter of a fast moving technological species.

>>29249385
Yeah, we're fine. A small alien came out as soon as we stopped talking. It looked scared so we tried to calm it. Unfortunately, it committed suicide. Can you guys retrieve it? I'll stay with Vine.
>>
>>29249427
It does seem that they have limited senses. They never found us or even checked our pod, just the picnic.
>>
>>29249385
I'm still against taking the corpse. It would be different if it was an animal but it was a sapient being. If we do take it we should at least get out of the system quickly.
>>
>>29249432
>>29249452
Strange of them to also leave that small alien behind and leave. For a mechanical species, they don't seem that advanced. They even randomly attempted to consume our picnic and failed to do so. They aren't really acting that intelligent and instead are relying on instinct.

You motion around the pod.
"We're fine," You tell them, "A small alien came out as soon as we stopped talking. It looked scared so we tried to calm it down. Unfortunately, it committed suicide. The body's still there. Think you can go and grab it?"
Eagle and Fedot look at each other.
"We'll get it," Fedot answers, "Is it at the place we went earlier?"
You nod.
"Alright, we'll go get it."
"Thank you. Come on Vine, let's go."
You get up and carry Vine on your back. The landing pod leaving shortly after you two leave the room.
You carry Quiet Vine to her room and set her on her bed. Giving her a bucket as well.
Her cheeks puff out and she quickly grabs the bucket. Retching into it.

What do you do?
>>
>>29249463
So they might actually be some kind of autonomous, semi-organic probes.
>>
>>29249463
I doubt they were native probably some sort of probe which would explain the fascination with unfamiliar objects
I assume they were testing them
>>
>>29249467
Stroke her mane and ask sai for advice on this we are no medic

Pat her on the back.

"It's alright, I'm here for you and I'm not leaving until you're better. Just take deep breaths. Think of your happy place again."
>>

Their synthetic components and the fact that they left the planet make it pretty obvious.

You stroke her mane and pat her on the back.
"It's alright," You tell her, "I'm here for you and I'm not leaving you until you're better. Just take deep breaths. Think of your happy place again."
She stops retching and closes her eyes. Leaning into your hoof.
"Sai, any advice on this? I'm no medic."
"Stay by her side and remain calm," He starts, "Move the pony to a quiet place, which you did, speak in short, simple sentences, be predicable, no surprises, and help her slow her breathing. That's what you can do."

What do you do?

Stopping for the night.
Have a good night or day!

You sit down next to her and hold her close in a hug. She quickly leans on you and holds you close as she continues to shake.
"Your kind and gentle giant is here," You reassure her, "I'm right here."

It's been several minutes now. Quiet Vine has fallen asleep next to you with her forelegs wrapped around you. She shakes as she exhales with each breath, but has gotten better.
The door opens and Eagle trots in.
"Hey. We got the alien body-" She stops before lowering her voice to a whisper, "Is... this a bad time?"

What do you do?
>>
>>29251930
Be out there in a bit. Have Siri try to figure out where the others went while we wait.
>>
>>29251930
Wait a bit and slowly leave her on her bed, and leave the room to speak with the others over the aliens. We could join Vine for comfort later, but right now we have to stay alert for a while.
>>
>>29251930
No, it's fine. Just give us a minute. I'll be join you outside in a bit.
>>
>>29251940
>>29251946
>>29251949
"It's fine," You tell her in a quiet voice, "Just give me a minute and I'll be joining you outside in a bit."
Eagle nods and leaves.
You wait a bit and slowly get up from Quiet's bed. Slowly removing her forelegs as you get up. You get up without waking her and exit the room, gently closing the door on your way out, where you find Eagle and Fedot waiting. Fedot with the alien body on his back.
"Siri, can you try to figure out where the others went?" You ask.
"Yeah."
"We got the body," Eagle says again, "It took a while to get here cause it is surprisingly heavy for it's size."

What do you do?
>>
>>29251989
Rust and Eagle should begin to dissect the body. Lots of alien machinery to discover study right here. Plus, a chance to speak to Eagle over all this.
>>
>>29252018
This
>>
>>29252018
>>29252026
You and Eagle take the body and carry it to the greenhouse for dissection. It was surprisingly heavy despite it's size.
After a tiny bit of work the two of you lay it onto a table, and straighten it out.

What do you do?
>>
>>29252046
Lets work on the tentacles first. There is some kind of weapon in them.
>>
>>29252078
Seconded
>>
>>29252078
>>29252088
You decide to work on the tentacle first. You lift it up and look at it more closely.
The metal appeared to be Titanium or something close to it, though it was shiner then Titanium. It's three claws were connected to the metal, rounded and sharp to possibly keep prey around and then destroy it with a laser blast.
The bottom of it's tentacle was flat, with no exit holes to be seen to fire lasers out of it.
You quickly find a problem though: How were suppose to dissect something that was 75% metal?

What do you do?
>>
>>29252134
Is this a newly discovered metal? We would need to run several tests on it if we want to discover how to break it down if so. We should also take a look on the body. The mouth had several saw blades if I remember correctly.
>>
>>29252134
It has to be jointed, so there are weak points. Lets see if we can remove a claw.
>>
>>29252134
Does it have screws on like the adult ones? Does it look man-made?
>>
>>29252154
>>29252162
>>29252163
You look around for screws, not finding any. You remember that it wasn't wearing goggles like the adults were, it's eye simply being unprotected.
You look it over again. It didn't appear to be made by well... anything. The skin it had looked too real, too lifelike to be made by anything.
You lift the tentacle up and move a hoof gently across it. Looking for joints. But, you stop as you realize something.
The metal was warm to the touch, and it felt a lot like skin. It didn't move like skin, but it felt like it.

What do you do?
>>
>>29252191
A metallic organism? Lets see if we can cut it.
>>
>>29252191
Strange. Perhaps we should try cut part of it with a scapel if the metal seems life-like.
>>
>>29252191
Cut a piece of metal and put it under a microscope.
>>
>>29252208
>>29252216
>>29252234
With a scalpel you gently cut it open. You're surprised to see that it cuts open much like skin would, even bleeding bright blue blood.
You cut a bit off and place it under a microscope while Eagle just kinda stares at the corpse, not sure what to do.
You find that the metal has cells on it which closely resemble skin cells.

What do you do?
>>
>>29252257
Identify the blood sample that we have with us. We can have a DNA sample and see if their is anything of note of their blood. Does Eagle have any suggestions or anything to ask on all this?
>>
>>29252283
This. Examine the blood. Also Eagle is a mechanic so it makes sense that this isn't exactly her field of work. Vine is the more sciency type.
>>
>>29252315
True, unfortunately I don't think we could rely on her to study this body. She will freak out if that panic attack is any indication. Looks like this one is up to us.
>>
>>29252283
>>29252315
You take the blood sample out and place it under the microscope.
You look through it and find some blood cells and... was that gas? They had gas in their blood.
"Uh, Rust," Eagle says, "What do you want me to do? I kinda feel useless right now."

What do you do?
>>
>>29252329
She can help Siri search for the others. Also, to address that paranoid anon's concerns, ask Siri co check for any signals leaving the ship.
>>
>>29252329
"Oh, sorry. Uhh...you could try building that sample collector we talked about earlier."

Try to identify what kind of gas that is.
>>
>>29252329
Identify that gas. What is i? Excuse Eagle to help the others. We certainly expected some sort of synthetic instead of this.
>>
>>29252360
They could still be synthetic, just grown rather than constructed. Like the aliens from the Xcom series.
>>
>>29252348
>>29252356
>>29252360
>>29252386
"Oh, sorry," You apologize, "Uhh... you can try building that sample collector we talked about earlier."
Eagle nods and leaves. Leaving you alone with your work.
You look back through the microscope and continue to look at the gas. It appeared to be natural gas. Which was kinda strange.
"Uh, Rust Bucket," You hear Sai, "We may have a bit of a problem."
"What?"
"Remember those aliens you were talking about? They're coming back, and fast!"

What do you do?
>>
>>29252714
Head towards that volatile planet at full speed. Also, how are they travelling?
>>
>>29252714
Well then, prepare for some self-defense measures. Aren't they just scouts or probes that explore? Are they really planning to just attack us, or are they searching for the one left behind?
>>
>>29252776
That depends on whether they're heading for the planet we're orbiting or us.

>>29252714
Any way we can relocate without them noticing us?
>>
>>29252748
>>29252776
>>29252825
"Head towards the volatile planet at full speed and prepare some self-defense measures."
"Got it."
The ship starts moving and after several minutes you arrive at the volatile planet. Safely in orbit above it.
You stood in the cockpit, watching a radio screen with Sai. Where there were four blips on the water planet.
The four blips stay there for several minutes until they start moving. Three of the blips move back towards the sun. Disappearing halfway to it.
One blip remains on the water planet. Staying there for a minute before taking off towards your direction.
You look up to see a tiny light in the distance. Quickly growing bigger as it got closer.

What do you do?
>>
>>29252848
Hide behind the planet.
>>
>>29252848
Why do my fears have to happen? Can we even outrun them with the speed they are traveling? We can try hiding and hope that blip isn't heading for us.
>>
>>29252848
Use the debris and geysers to hide the ship.
>>
>>29252848
Sai can you tell if there's any traces of any kind of hormone or something alike in the gas? Also everyone battle stations
>>
>>29252857
>>29252877
>>29252895
>>29252958
You get Sai to hide the ship near the geyser and debris.
The two of you wait for a minute until it appears where you use to be. It floats around, looking around the area. It's mouth starts moving, as if it was talking.
It then swirls in the air for a bit before turning towards the sun and then glides away. Leaving a small shockwave as it shoots off.
You watch it speed off before it disappears.

What do you do?
>>
>>29252962
Wipe sweat off forehead and sigh in relief.

"Alright, we gotta move. Siri, get us to that 15 planet system next."
>>
>>29252962
When we have the time we gotta log these creatures. Apparently either stealth capabilities or they can warp travel.
>>
>>29252962
Are we leaving behind something that caused one of them to head our direction? Either way, we should go before that distant blip reaches this system.
>>
>>29252996
I do believe we still have that body on the table waiting for more experimentation and research.
>>
>>29253020
Should we keep it or dispose of it then? Something is heading for this system. I don't think it's a good idea to stick around any longer.
>>
>>29252984
>>29252988
>>29252996
>>29253020
You wipe the sweat from your forehead and give out a sigh of relief.
"They have stealth capabilities or they can warp travel. We gotta move. Siri, get us to that fifteen planet system next."
"That's a ten day travel in cryo sleep," He informs you, "You should probably get things ready for that."

What do you do?
>>
>>29253055
Keep it, if it didn't find us than it isn't emitting some kind of signal. Also disposing of it doesn't benefit us in any way at this point.

>>29252962
I say we don't leave yet. All of those things went somewhere and we should figure that out before we do anything.
>>
>>29253095
Stop. Lets not make any hasty actions. Lets try to figure out where those things disappeared to before we do anything else. Also, lets not go to the farthest system.
>>
>>29253095
You can't just start the travel right away while we're awake? We gotta get out of here right now! I can keep researching and getting ready while we travel.
>>
>>29253095
I honestly don't know if staying is a good idea or not. Whatever those aliens went they disappeared from us completely, and we couldn't track them down previously.
>>
>>29253095
How do we know they won't be able to track us if we make a sudden move like that?
>>
>>29253216
My guess is that they came back to look for the kid because he didn't come back himself. In any case, we gotta leave this system.
>>
>>29253227
This is most likely the case. That blip came around to search on this rock planet to look for it. It also seems they have poor senses if they never found our ship or shuttle when the four of them left originally.
>>
>>29253113
>>29253124
>>29253175
"Actually, let's not make any hasty actions," You say, "Let's just try to figure out where those things disappeared to before we do anything else."
"Scan reveals that all four of them are gone," Sai says, "No blips, no heat signatures, nothing. They're gone."

What do you do?
>>
>>29253227
>>29253240
They didn't try going to the other planet and they didn't actually check this planet.
>>
>>29253261
Can we calculate the location they disappeared?
>>
>>29253261
Siri, can you begin the travel towards the fifteen planet system right away? We gotta get of here, but I still have work to do. I can work while we travel.
>>
>>29253284
No
>>
>>29253305
...Why?
>>
>>29253261
>>29253266
Curses. Unless we left something that attracted that blip, I don't see why it would suddenly visit that planet.
>>
>>29253271
>>29253284
>>29253325
"Curses," You mutter, "Unless we left something that attracted that blip, I don't see why it would suddenly visit that planet. Can we calculate the location they disappeared?"
"A few hundred miles from the sun," Sai tells you, "I think they use the sun for travel cause they reappeared near the sun when I detected them."

What do you do?
>>
>>29253351
They visited the planet again because they were looking for the child as it didn't come back after a while. I thought we already covered this. And since they didn't find us just now means that we didn't leave any good trace.
>>
>>29253351
Can you detect anything unusual about the sun?
>>
>>29253367
Except for the fact that one come to the planet we're hiding at and none went to the third planet.
>>
>>29253367
Remember that they never saw our ship or shuttle at all. Something else caused one of them to search only one planet. This is just strange behavior.
>>
>>29253377
My theory is that one of them saw our ship from a distance while it was at the planet. It decided to investigate, but it probably has poor eyesight while it's traveling that fast. So it just checked the general area where we were previously and then went away. So what's your theory?
>>
>>29253367
>>29253371
>>29253377
"They visited the planet again cause they were probably looking for the child," You say; thinking out loud, "As it didn't come back after a while."
"Could be," Sai says, "The one that you guys got is smaller than the others."
"Can you detect anything unusual about the sun?"
"...Nope," He replies, "Nothing unusual except for the fact that the sun is a new star."

What do you do?
>>
>>29253418
Why is that unusual?
>>
>>29253418
Let's go back to examining that corpse.
>>
>>29253427
>>29253428
"Why is that unusual?" You ask.
"You don't usually see a lot of newly formed stars." He replies.
You shrug and trot back to the corpse to find Snowflake and Curiosity studying it. Snowflake playfully attacking one of it's tentacles on the table.

What do you do?
>>
>>29253467
Continue with the examination. Look at it's mouth next.
>>
>>29253467
Let's identify that gas first. Is it something we recognize or something completely different?
>>
>>29253467
How old is the star and the planets?
>>
>>29253478
>>29253491
>>29253509
The gas was something you recognized as being oil. Which was kinda strange to you.
"How old are the stars and planets?" You ask.
The star is about a thousand years old," Sai replies, "The planets are half of that."
You ignore the pets for now and trot to the top of the alien. Opening it's mouth.
It's mouth was metallic, lined with saw blades on the inside as well as at the bottom. The ones at the bottom having a hole between them.
You carefully poke the saw blades and find that they are made out of what you think to be bone and metal. Being something between the two.
Curiosity comes up and carefully places her head in it's mouth. Looking around with wonder.

What do you do?
>>
>>29253564
Make sure she keeps her distance.

Keep Curiosity away. Time to dissect it. Do it like you're doing an autopsy.
>>

>>29253602
>>29253625
"Curiosity, no," You say sternly; your Minotaur accent coming out, "It's filthy in there!"
You push Curiosity out and clear your throat. Kinda glad that your friends weren't around to hear it for some reason.
You approach the part where it was skin and cut it open with a scalpel and pull it open.
You're hit by pungent odor which causes Snowflake and Curiosity to run out of the room.

What do you do?
>>
>>29253656
Identify the source of the odor and if it might be hazardous. Also, don't vomit.
>>
>>29253656
Get a gas mask. The thing has gas in it's blood so better safe than sorry. Open up the incision and look at the organs.
>>
Just came up with an odd, very outlandish idea. What if the planets and sun are artificial?
>>
>>29253656
Check for gastro fluids or signs of decomposition.
>>
>>29253674
>>29253679
>>29253688
You quickly get your gas mask and close the door.
You identify the source of the odor to be the body, but it doesn't look to be decaying or anything like that. Nor were there any fluids collecting in the body.
You open up the incision and look inside. You're kinda confused to find a mix of organic and mechanical organs, with a mix of blood vessels and wires as well. The wires leading to the mechanical organs, and the blood vessels leading to organic organs with both of them heading to one long, saggy organic organ.

What do you do?

What do you do?
>>
>>29253748
Cut a wire and see what's inside. Examine and cut open the saggy organ. Is it the heart?
>>
>>29253748
Can we get anything to cut open from a distance or anything to tell if something is toxic or acidic?
>>
>>29253748
To bad we don't have that hazardous testing bay completed yet.
>>
>>29253774
>>29253803
>>29253832
You cut the wire and gently bring it up. Inside of it being smaller, hollow wires.
You bring it down and a liquid drips down from it. After several seconds, the part it touched starts sizzling and steaming before becoming black and stopping for the few seconds.
"Too bad we don't have that hazardous testing bay completed yet." You mutter.
You go to the saggy organ and cut it open. Inside it is a small pool of bright blue blood.

What do you do?
>>
>>29253852
Examine the mechanical organs more closely.
>>
>>29253852
Can we cut open those mechanical organs up? I assume so if we did it with the skin.
>>
>>29253860
>>29253902
You examine one of the mechanical organs more closely. The closest one being the shape of a kidney, and being connected to the saggy organ.
You cut it and peel it open. Inside of it being more of the acidic liquid that dripped from the wire. The metal of this organ preventing it from coming out and making it's insides melt.

What do you do?
>>
>>29253942
Lets find something we can contain that liquid in and drain it.
>>
>>29253942
Take a sample of the acidic liquid. Cut open it's stomach next.
>>
>>29253966
>>29253970
You have trouble finding something to hold the liquid in, but you decide on a metal bucket since metal held the liquid.
You manage to drain the liquid into the bucket and it surprisingly holds it.
You set the bucket down and move on to the next organ, which also metallic.
You cut it and peel it open. Finding more of the acidic liquid, but in a slightly different coloration with bits of glass and metal floating in it.

What do you do?
>>
>>29254056
Examine glass and metal. Is it from our picnic? Also does it looks smooth and in the process of digestion?
>>
>>29254056
Looks like this one is a stomach.
>>
>>29254074
>>29254129
You examine the glass and metal. You quickly recognize the glass as from your picnic, but you didn't know where the metal came from.
Both the glass and the metal being smooth from the process of digestion, but it appears to have stopped as it was dead.
You do notice that there was nothing organic in the stomach. No plants, or meat.
You hear the door open and turn to the door. It was Quiet Vine, who was sticking her head in. She looked tired and drained.
"Hey," She says; giving you a tired smile, "What are you doing?"

What do you do?
>>
>>29254168
Aw shit. Stop her from seeing in and try to explain the situation if nothing better comes to mind.
>>
>>29254168
Oh you know looking at the insides of the alien species that killed itself.
>>
>>29254168
Come up to her and quickly escort her out of the room, she might get sick from the smell.

"Sorry, this thing has gas in it's blood and I don't know if it's dangerous to us. I was examining that alien corpse. It's pretty impressive, it can grow it's own metal and it's half machine. But uhh...how are you holding up, love?"
>>
>>29252984
Wouldn't it make more sense to go to the system that is only 3 days away so we can continue to study the creature
>>
>>29252996
What blip are you talking about did i miss something.
>>
>>29254188
>>29254213
>>29254220
You hop in front of the body to prevent her from seeing it, but after you get nothing on a different explanation you trot over and close the door. Taking your gas mask off.
"Looking at the insides of an alien species that killed itself," You tell her, "...Sorry, this thing has gas in it's blood and I don't know how dangerous it is to us. Though, it's pretty impressive: It can grow it's own metal and it's half machine. How are you holding up, love?"
"Okay," She says, "Sorry for panicking like that. For awhile It just felt like I was about to... die."

What do you do?
>>
>>29254276
Give her a hug.

"No need to apologize. This situation was pretty stressful for us all. Just know that I'm always gonna be here for you, alright? Now...I didn't wanna say this, but...please try to eat something and go back to bed, you look really tired."
>>
>>29254276
Did you feel something strange going on with you after, you know? Because I've never seen a panic attack that bad. Hug her
>>
>>29254168
>You quickly recognize the glass as from your picnic
Thats odd considering we did not see the small one until after the picnic this warrents investigation.
>>
>>29254276
Its allright it was a sca6rry moment i suppose
>>
>>29254315
>>29254332
>>29254339
>>29254352
You give her a hug.
"No need to apologize," You tell her, "The situation was pretty stressful for us all. Did you feel something strange going on with you after, you know?"
"No," She replies, "I've had worse. I have Panic Disorder like my mom so it isn't anything new."
"Alright. Just know that I'm always gonna be there for you. Please try to eat something and go to bed, you look really tired."
"That's what I was doing," She smiles, "You should get to bed too. It's almost 9:30."

What do you do?
>>
>>29254448
Heh, no rest for the wicked! Don't worry about me though, I'll head to bed when I'm done with the autopsy.
>>
>>29254448
Tell sai to start moving towards the system that is 3 days away and go to bed we can continue the study on the way there
>>
>>29254475
We have probably been hiding long enough.
>>
>>29254468
>>29254475
>>29254498
"Heh, no rest for the wicked," You smile, "Don't worry about me though, I'll head to bed when I'm done with autopsy."
"All right," She says; yawning, "I'll see you later."
Quiet Vine then trots towards the kitchen.
"Sai, start moving towards the system that is three days away." You tell him; putting your gas mask back on.
"Will do."
The ship starts moving and you go back into the greenhouse room. Though, you're surprised that the plants didn't seem effected by the smell.
You close the door and trot back towards the corpse, ready to continue.

What do you do?
>>
>>29254555
See the body again. What does it have to defend itself or to attack? If nothing else then move on to the brain and hope it didn't damage it too bad with the suicide.
>>
>>29254555
Remove all the metal organs and lay them out on the table
>>
>>29254570
>>29254573
You look over the body again. It didn't really seem to have much in attack and defense. So far, only to shoot lasers, stab things, and probably tear prey to shreds with their mouths if they get too close.
You remove all the metal organs while you look for it's brain. In the end, the alien had: Seven metal organs, and five organic organs, but nothing that resembled a brain.
The brain could've been behind the eye. Which would explain why it shot itself in the eye.

What do you do?
>>
>>29254632
Examine the part where they shoot lasers. Did it grow it as well?
>>
>>29254632
>It didn't really seem to have much in attack and defense.
>So far, only to shoot lasers, stab things, and probably tear prey to shreds with their mouths if they get too close.
Nigga you serious?
>>
>>29254632
Maybe the brain is spread around various organs and it just shot itself in the cpu.
Cut up the organs in search of circut boards
>>
>>29254632
Look like we are not going to get much from this body, let trow it out of the airlock.
>>
>>29254646
They can do all that back on equus
>>
>>29254632
Check the tissue near the eye and maybe the eye itself. Who knows maybe this this is like an octopus where it has brain cells in each tentacle.
>>
>>29254653
No dont do this
At the very least keep the organs

We might find tools to better examine it on our journy
>>
>>29254669
Agreed. If we can find away to store these in containers and preserve them for the folks back on Equus, that'doesn't be great.
>>
>>29254660
Again, nigga are you serious? I want you- now I want you to think, I know it's tough for you-to tell me, how many creatures can: shoot lasers, have a metal casing on the outside, can fly as fast as the ship, is extremely heat resistant in some for (if flies near a God damn sun), doesn't suffocate in space.
>>
>>29254697
Our ship can do all of that.
Well it cannot shoot lasers but we could modify it to do so if we wanted.
Maybe not the heat resistance i wonder how close our ship can get to suns
>>
>>29254640
>>29254651
>>29254668
You look around the eye to see if there was any tissue that appeared to be for a brain, but you didn't find anything.
Though you do find what appears to be a piece of a computer chip where it's eye use to be.
You continue to look through the body until you find something near the bottom of it:
Four bulbous organic organs where each tentacle connected to the body. Each one appeared to have the texture of a bubble with fading sparks flashing across each one. You also notice that each one is connected to both wires and blood vessels. Which in turn: are connected to a bigger version of them in the middle of the bottom.
Was this it's brain? And if so: Why did it have five?

What do you do?
>>
>>29254724
Take a picture of the creature and log everything that happened at the planet and during the autopsy.
>>
>>29254710
>They can do all that back on equus
This was too flippant. When they said 'they' and 'equus,' it's fair to assume some general number of people can eat metal and shoot lasers.
And this. >>29254646
What the fuck are we comparing this thing to if we can say this dead fucker has little in offense and defense?
>>
>>29254724
A computer chip? Lets analyze what's left of it.
>>
>>29254724
You know if this thing has "organs" similar to circuit boards, we should look for its harddrive or something similar. Or find a disposable computer that's only connect to the ship via power source, and connect it to the cadaver. We could learn something. Or would we be crossing some moral line?
>>
>>29254724
Lets leave the brains for now and see if we can recover any data at all from the chip
>>
>>29254760
Oh yes of course
Whatever we do do not connect anything to ship systems in case it infects them
Ask sai if he can copy himself to help you look it over.

Come to think of it what sort of hardware is sai running on how many gigabytes is he
>>
>>29254773
Or we could just get an isolated computer for testing purposes.
>>
>>29254734
>>29254757
>>29254760
>>29254764
>>29254773
You take a picture of the creature and log everything that happened at the planet and during the autopsy.
You pick up the computer chip. It looked damaged, but you could still probably run it or something.
"Hey Sai," You ask, "Is there anything that can run a computer chip here?"
"I can make a copyware of myself and you can use that for the chip." He says, "We can do it at the cockpit."
You travel to the cockpit. Where a screen lowers down and turns on with: SAI COPYWARE in big letters.
You insert the chip into a slot in the screen and watch as a bunch of files come into view.
You spend some time scrolling through the files. Most of them corrupted from damaged sustained on the chip.
You then find one that isn't corrupted: A video file of all things.

What do you do?
>>
>>29254813
Play that video file.
>>
>>29254813
Watch it.
>>
>>29254813
Horray its at least partly compatible
Watch it.
>>
>>29254813
Delete the video... Nah, let's watch it and make a copy of this video .
>>
>>29254813
It is possible to recover corrupted data. Lets ask Siri if he's willing to work on that.
>>
>>29254724
I've been wonder. How morale / immoral is this? Cutting open a dead alien for study. Do we have the right to do this?
>>
>>29254884
How do you think science works anon
You cut open bodys.
The fuck do you think all knowledge of equine anatomy comes from
>>
>>29254884
Kinda a bit immoral depending on how sapient and intelligent these aliens are. It didn't exactly donate its body to us to study.
>>
>>29254884
Fuck that noise. Some of the greatest scientific advancements had absolutely nothing to do with morality. We'd still be using leeches if it weren't for grave robbers.
>>
>>29254904
To add to this, dissecting this body would of greater use than just leaving it there anyways. It would advance our knowledge for our entire planet.
>>
>>29254820
>>29254821
>>29254822
>>29254826
>>29254876
>>29254884
You make a copy of it and click on the file. It takes a few seconds, but it starts up.
It opens on a jungle of some kind, with large plants and trees you've never seen before. The sky was blood red though, but it looked to be a nice day. Through the trees and bushes was a small city, built out of wood and sheet metal. Pretty impressive for something that looked to hold several thousand different aliens as the most. You could see several aliens down in the city. They were big, burly, and strong-looking. Wearing tribal clothing, but they had what appeared to be guns. The females though appeared to be thin and attractive. They all had green skin, walked on two legs, two arms, and sharp, long teeth.
The camera turns, showing another alien similar to the one you dissected, but it was different:
It wore full armor, and it's eye was protected by a glowing red covering.
The camera turns again. Showing many more of them hiding in the bushes and trees. Almost like an army.
The camera turns down towards it's tentacles. It pushes it's tentacle with one of it's claws and a compartment comes out of it. Showing a glowing, yellow canister. It puts it back in after checking it and to your surprise it's tentacle rotates, showing more containers with different colored canisters.
"Lecsh'lish trikhvs?" One of them asks.
"Ushlishi gresh t'os. Khallvish?" The recorder says.
In the sky: A flare flies in the air.
"Ka'vash! Tls-ohl!"
They all get up.
"Hvklale!"
They all rush forward towards the city. When they break out of the brush they all raise a tentacle and start firing at the other aliens.
They seemed to be caught by surprise. Many of them start running, only to be gunned down by the advancing army. Males, females, even children, were gunned down by their advance.

Cont.
>>
>>29254904
I auctualy think it might have
As in it recognised us as a new species and donated its body for study
>>
>>29254924
That's... a bit of a stretch. Would it not be better to attempt diplomacy first if it is that generous?
>>
>>29254922
Still think it's immoral? Ask Siri if it can recover anything else while we work on the body some more.
>>
>>29254922
They continue unopposed until they get a bit into the city. When the other aliens start to fire at them with guns.
This doesn't seem to faze the advancing army as they simply continue to gun them down.
This continues for a while until it suddenly cuts with a burst of static before coming back on.
The air was thick with smoke and fire. Buildings laid in ruin. The recorder was walking down one of the roads of the city, hundreds of bodies lining the road.
Several of the aliens were going from building to building. Checking each one while the recorder simply walked.
The recorder is about to pass a ruined building when an alien comes out, dragging one of the other aliens by it's head. It was a child, kicking and screaming as it was dragged out.
It didn't care. It drags the child out into the road, raises it into the air and shoots it in the head. It goes limp and then flops to the ground.
The two look at each other as if that was normal, and then continues for a bit longer before ending.
Static now takes the screen. Leaving you in silence.

What do you do?
>>
>>29254949
Go back to the body and attempt to locate the yellow canisters in it's tentacles.
>>
>>29254949
Think about the language they were speaking was it at all similar to the aliens you met on the electric planet.
Go check for those canisters you may even be able to use them for your own weapons with a bit of adjustment.
>>
>>29254949
...Yeah, let's not try diplomacy with these aliens. Seems like they scout other planets and destory others species with no regard to them from our limited knowledge. Let Siri try to recover those other files while we check those tentacles again.
>>
>>29254980
This
>>
>>29254972
>>29254976
>>29254980
You go back to the language they were speaking. It sounded so familiar to the one of Prometheus-4.
"Seems like they scout other planets and destroy other species with no regards to them," You mutter, "Can you try to recover those other files while I go to check those tentacles again?"
"Sure."
You trot back into the greenhouse and lift one of it's tentacles up. Touching it where it touched.
A compartment opens up and a red canister comes out. The canister being half empty.

What do you do?
>>
>>29255043
Cycle through the canisters to see what the selection are.
>>
>>29255043
Does it look like the canisters can be opened or removed? Also, do the other tentacles also have them?
>>
>>29255079
Yeah - no. Let's not tamper with volatile alien weapons.
>"but anon we'll be careful. What's the worst that could -
It blasts a hole in the ship.
>"but it's probably not strong-
You wanna chance that?
>>
>>29255043
Why don't we gather some equipment together so we can make mini labs on the surface of planets? That way, if something goes wrong it will happen on the planet and not in the ship?
>>
>>29255107
Who said anything about actually firing the thing? I'm just saying to determine how many different firing mode these things have.

>>29255117
We aren't anywhere near a planet and we aren't testing the weapon itself, just analyzing it.
>>
>>29255043
Tey and retrive the other colored canisters
Get eagle she is the military type what does she think of the posibility if making use of these
>>
>>29255161
Lets not remove them yet. At least not until we get a good look at the other internal structures it interacts with.
>>
Stopping a bit early.
I'm stomach has been feeling pretty shitty today.
Have a good night or day!
>>
>>29255043
Let's not remove those canisters yet. Check if those other tentacles have them. Check on how these canisters interact with the body.
>>
>>29255189

>>
>>29255189

>>
>>29255954

>>
>>29255954
Consequnces for what exactly we have yet to do anything bad.

Are you talking about attacking that alien in which case
>why were 4 inteligent creatures armed with the best man portable weapon there advanced society has produced able to defeat a creature that a primitive native felt a single spear gave him at least a chance of beating.

Hell there have been consequences eagle got a concussion just because we got to close to something.
>>
>>29255043
Check for other canisters.
>>
>>29255189

>>
>>29257595
Hooray my second favourite active qm gets to learn stuff.
>>
>>29255954
The only instance that had any chance of realistic consequences thus far was fighting that dragon. If anything, we have been WAY to cautious throughout this quest.
>>
>>29257849
I agree
Except the safety gear when dealing with that mushroom it was wise of us to suit up.
>>
>>29257937
And those were realistic precautions because we were dealing with electricity.
>>
>>29257849
Way too cautious on the freaking tutorial and level 1, come on we just started in-game has been what 1 week at the most and still have 2 years to get in trouble.
>>
>>29257849
I still stand we are being reasonably cautious. We are dealing with a lot of the unknown. The fact those aliens are genocidal shows how a wrong move can end us in a dangerous spot.
>>
>>29258111
Not wanting to take the body was silly but understandable
Wanting to space the fucking thing after the aliens had already come back and left again was retarded.
>>
>>29258249
Agreed, it was rather silly to even try back out after going that far to study the body.
>>
>>29258278
It was also ridiculous and wasteful to not take the first body.
>>
>>29257849
I hope this extreme caution does not make its way into zodiac.
Here we have 3 crewmembers to stop us from throwing away valuable oportunitys but nobody is going to tell anon he is acting like a fucking pussy.
>>
>>29258737
I've come across a fair number of overly cautious anons on the board. It's annoying feeling the need to babysit a quest to be able to counter them.
>>
>>29258815
I'm probably one of the overly cautious anons (didn't really wanted to take both corpses at first and also the tracker thing) and I'm gonna try to be less overly cautious (Aliens and Dead Space kinda got me a little paranoid of picking up things in space all willy nilly).
>>
>>29258737
>>29258815
It isn't that bad so far. Besides the alien leaving its corpse by committing suicide in front of us, we have been acting with reasonable caution. I admit I overreacted with my choice at the moment and wanted to leave the body. I'll be sure to hold back on it though in the future.
>>
>>29259268
I think Star Trek is a closer analogue. In Aliens and Dead Space, the characters were completely oblivious to alien life until after it was to late and there were groups or individuals that were acting against the leads best interests. We were prepared as best as we could be for potential hostile encounters and we're all on the same team.
>>
>>29259338
Fair point.
>>
>>29259415
Now I want to know why this thing killed itself? Was it out of fear? If so, what was it afraid of exactly?
>>
>>29259524
It is very strange. Maybe they act autonomous and commit suicide when in danger? Then again, we saw it act in fear, though we can't really be sure in what they are feeling or if they even have them in the first place. It had weapons to defend itself, so why didn't it shoot us or attempt to run?
>>
>>29255079
>>29255096
>>29255161
You push down on the tentacle again and it switches to a light blue canister.
It does this a few times. In order: Yellow, Light Blue, Green, Orange, and Red. Yellow and red being the most used.
You manage to take the yellow canister out and look at it. The yellow in it acting much like a liquid, sloshing around as you look at it from different angles.

What do you do?
>>
>>29259668
The yellow canister might be used for lethal use if that video from the chip is correct. Let's take a small sample and look at it under a microscope. What is it?
>>
>>29259668
Compare it to the canisters in our weaponsm
>>
>>29259668
Lets cut open the tentacle to see the internal structure and how the canisters interact with it. Also, are the other tentacles armed?

>>29259700
Lets not test contents until we have that hazardous materials lab set up.
>>
>>29259746
True, changing to this. We really to set it up with all potential discoveries.
>>
>>29259746
I think its just gonna be a blast shield
>>
>>29259802
Still, might as well just set up the whole thing since we're definitely going to need it. Now that I think about it, we should also make a shooting range if we're going to be doing weapons testing.
>>
>>29259744
>>29259746
>>29259761
>>29259802
You get your weapon and compare it to the canister of your weapon.
Your weapon's canister was longer and used electricity, while the alien's was shorter, thicker, and used liquid instead.
You go through the other tentacles and find that they were weaponized as well. Probably so if it lost one it could continue to fight.
You cut the tentacle open further and look into it.
It's tentacle wasn't hollow, but you could see where the wires and blood vessels went. The wires going to the compartments and then down into the bottom of the tentacle. Though, you don't see anything that would make it fire.
Maybe one of the mechanical organs made it fire?

What do you do?
>>
>>29259846
Take pictures of the exposed parts, remove all the canisters from the opened tentacle, and then remove the parts from the tentacle.
>>
>>29259846
Go ask eagle her opinion she likely knows kore about weapons then us.
>>
>>29259957
Isn't she asleep with the others in the cyopod?
>>
>>29260006
Short trip, no cryopods this time.
>>
>>29259947
>>29259957
You take a picture of the exposed parts, removing the rest of the canisters from the other tentacles and remove any parts you could from the tentacles.
You don't get much from the tentacles.
You exit the room and close the door behind you. Trotting down to the rooms to Eagle's.
You were about to knock on the door when you yawn, and realize that she was asleep as you could hear snoring behind the door.
What time was it?
You find a clock and look at it.
11:00 at night.

What do you do?
>>
>>29260058
Let go to sleep, we can do more to the body tomorrow.
>>
>>29260058
A suprising eventful day in a boring system. Let's head to bed and continue work tomorrow.
>>
>>29260058
>remove all the canisters from the opened tentacle
>from the opened tentacle
I didn't say to dismantle every tentacle, only the one we were working on.
>>
>>29260058
We should carefully find some place to store the canisters. It would be, bad if any of the canisters blow-up. Also find a way to preserve the corpse. The freezer maybe?
>>
>>29260116
You didn't dismantle all of them.

>>29260095
>>29260111
You decide to go to sleep, as it was a surprisingly eventful day.
You crawl into your bed and pull the covers over yourself. Closing your eyes and going to sleep.

You wake up from a strange dream. Looking over your room.
You eye the alarm clock and look at the time.
It was 9:00 in the morning.

What do you do?
>>
>>29260177
>didn't bathe.
>Didn't put on any gloves when dissecting alien.
>>
>>29260177
Breakfest time with the others. Ask Siri on his progress on those corrupted files.

>>29260194
We had a mask. All is forgiven.
>>
>>29260177
>remove any parts you could from the tentacles
The plural says otherwise, but ok.

Lets go have breakfast.

>>29260194
I think since were cautious enough to use safety gear, I think we can prep for a dissection without needing to post to.
>>
>>29260177
Go see eagle and ask her opinions on the weapons
>>
>>29260205
>>29260223
>>29260267
You get up and stretch a bit.
"What's the progress on the corrupted files?" You ask.
"Okay," He replies, "I got the first few. They're mostly video files though."
You finish stretching and trot out of your room. Eagle trots out of her room a few seconds later.
"Hey," She greets you, "I see you decided to go to bed."

What do you do?
>>
>>29260291
Need to sleep at some point, lets go get breakfast and chat about what went on yesterday.
>>
>>29260291
Lets grab sommething we can quickly eat and get to work with eagle.

She might be able to determine which organ is the firing mechanism
>>
>>29260291
We should go eat and share what we discovered so far about this alien. More video files doesn't give off a good vibe from what we've seen from only one.
>>
>>29260357
No watching while eating.
>>
>>29260315
>>29260344
>>29260357
>>29260385
"Need to sleep at some point." You smile.
The two of you go to the kitchen where you prepare breakfast by cooking some bacon, and getting a small salad for Quiet Vine.
Both are soon done and the two of you begin to eat breakfast.
"So," Eagle starts, "What did you discover from the alien?"

What do you do?
>>
>>29260412
I discovered that it's an asshole. It comes to random planets and exterminates other alien races. We should avoid them at all cost.
>>
>>29260412
Got a chip that has a lot of corrupted data on it but Siri is un-corrupting it and we found a video those alien killing off a race of aliens.
>>
>>29260412
It's a strange blend of organic and inorganic, it has five structures that might be brains, it has a computer chip inside it that possibly contains memories, and it has some manner of gun in each tentacle with multiple firing modes. What did you do after you left?
>>
>>29260412
The alien we discovered turned out to be organic so far. Possibly synthetic but that is unconfirmed. It had weapons which I think you should look at. We will need to build a seperate test room though. I have no idea why it didn't defend itself if it believed it was in danger. The alien also contained a chip with plenty of corrupted files but one did work properly. It was a video of even more of them commiting genocide to another species. No one was spared from what we've seen. Siri, is fixing the rest but I really don't think diplomacy is an option to them.

Its entirerly possible that other race deserved it.

"It's a strange blend of organic and inorganic," You tell her, "It has five structures that might be it's brains. It has a chip that has a lot of corrupted data on it, but Siri is un-corrupting it. I also discovered that it's an asshole: Having a video on the chip of even more of them committing genocide to another species. No one was spared from what I've seen. Avoid at all costs... What did you do after you left?"
"You know how you told me to make a sample collector?"
"Yeah?"
"Well... I made one!"
She reaches under the table and pulls out a R.C. Car. It appeared to be a new one, but Eagle has add many intricate machinery onto it. One being a grabber with a ball on the end that opened and closed.
"Ta-daa!" She smiles.

What do you do?
>>
>>29260523
Didn't mention the guns.

>>29260506
This is true, but unlikely.
>>
>>29260523
Nice! I'm impressed that you made it so quickly. I will have to look at your craftsmanship later.
>>
>>29260523
A gift, for me? Can't wait to blast this wherever I want to! After breakfest, can you take a look at the alien's weaponry? Could use your opinion, Eagle.
>>
>>29260523
A car? So it can only take land based samples?
>>
>>29260537
Thank you for reminding me! Been forgetful today.

"A gift? For me," You say with sarcasm, "Can't wait to blast this wherever I want to!"
"It's not for blasting!" Eagle exclaims with a smile.
"I'm impressed that you made it so quickly," You say, "But, a car? So it can only take land based samples?"
"This baby can take a lot of damage," She smiles, "I got it when I was a foal... the only thing my dad got for me. I use to play with it all the time. It can go through anything: Sand, snow, rocks. I drove it into the water once and it continued to drive in the water, it's submersible!"
"...The alien also had some guns on it," You say, "After breakfast, can you take a look at the alien's weaponry? Could use your opinion, Eagle."
"Sure." She smiles.

What do you do?
>>
>>29260614
So next on the construction list would be the hazardous materials lab?
>>
>>29260635
This. We can construct after Eagle takes a look at those weapons. Maybe we should finally start a discussion on how we will handle firat contact. We have to discuss it sooner or later.
>>
>>29260614
Thank Eagle for letting us use her rover. Kinda surprised she is letting us use something that precious to her.
>>
>>29260635
>>29260650
>>29260663
You thank Eagle for the rover. Seeing as it was something precious and close to her.
"It's fine," She smiles, "Let's go take a look at the weapons."
You wrap the remainder of the bacon and salad in plastic wrap for when Fedot and Quiet Vine woke up.
You take the alien out of the food storage and bring it to the greenhouse. You don't wear the gas mask as the smell was gone from the room and the body.
You set it on the table as Eagle starts to look it over.
"Can you tell me what it's weapons are," She asks, "Maybe the ammo type?"

What do you do?
>>
>>29260710
Why not just let Eagle use the RC when ever we need to gather samples?
>>
>>29260710
Well...I can show you how it switches ammo canisters and from where it fires it, but I have no idea what it is yet.
>>
>>29260710
We can play back the video for her, can't we? We can talk over the video and narrate what we think.
>>
>>29260710
We could show her the part of the video the showed the weapons usage, but stop before the second part.
>>
>>29260747

"Well... I can show you how it switches ammo canisters and from where it fires it, but I have no idea what it is yet."
"We can watch the videos." Eagle suggests.
The two of you decide on this. The two of you head to the cockpit and you play the video from last night.
It goes through the first few minutes of the video. She then stops it after the alien checks it's ammo.
"So, It's ammo appears to be liquid," She observes, "And, in it's arms. So it fires from it's arms?"

What do you do?
>>
>>29260814
Apparently...uhh Eagle, I'm just gonna stop you right now and tell you NOT to shoot any of it's guns in the ship.
>>
>>29260828
This but say in jokingly
>>29260759
Eagle is a big girl anon she can handle it.
>>
>>29260814
That's what we assume, until we figure out how to fire it we won't know for sure.

>>29260828
Lets say this jokingly. It'd be a bit mean otherwise.
>>
>>29260839
Name
>>
>>29260814
My best guess would be that one of the organs is used to as a trigger to fire this liquid. Unfortunately, until we build a hazardous material lab, I don't think it would be safe to study what this liquid is. If you're not too busy, do you want to construct it with me?

>>29260759
It's is best to show her part of it to see it the weapon in action. She isn't a softie like Vine is. She can handle it.
>>
>>29260859
I just felt the execution part was a bit much, but I'm ok with it if we give her a heads up before we reach that part. It is a good shot of one of these things firing.

Bump limit has been reached. I'll make a new thread tomorrow. Kinda tired today.
Have a good night or day and I'll see you guys tomorrow.

>>29260852
Oh oops.

Noight

She would resent us warning her.
